Common and Drake might have been involved in the most over hyped "beef" in hip hop history. Sure there were a couple of shots fired, but fans didn't get the chance to see who was the better MC because things were squashed almost as soon as they started.
Check out the two rappers hanging out together at this past weekend's NBA All-Star festivities in Orlando, Florida.

While out in the UK recently Bow Wow stopped by Tim Westwood's show for a Q and A session. He was asked who the hottest producers in the game are right now. His answer revealed how the beat to "Stay Schemin" slipped through his fingers.
"Jahlil Beats hands down," he said, regarding the hottest producer. "Jahlil did Meek Mill's 'I'm A Boss'... did a couple joints for myself. His little brother the Beat Bully is the dude who did 'Schemin' which is crazy because if you look on the blog on the youtube I had the 'Schemin' beat first. A lot of people don't know that. I just used the beat for the webisode series just to play while me and Meek were in the studio," he explained. "I don't know how it reached back to Ross and them, but as soon as I heard it I was like, 'You gave that beat to Ross?' And he was just like, 'I didn't know if you was gon' use it. I thought you just used it for the...' I said 'aghhh.' Look at it, it happens."
Bow Wow tells Tim Westwood he had the "Stay Schemin" beat first.

Video After The Jump
Nicki Minaj is getting a lot of negative attention recently. Her latest video for "Stupid H*e" has nearly 30 million views on youtube but the dislike to like ratio is more than double. The clip has also been banned from BET.
Last night her performance on the Grammys did nothing to quiet her growing number of critics. She showed up at the awards in a scarlet red outfit channeling her "Roman Zolanski" alter ego. She was accompanied by a man dressed up to resembled the pope. That was mild compared to her performance of "Roman Holiday" off of her upcoming album.
The Young Money rapper's performance resembled an exorcism. It started with a confession to a priest, before a short film "The Exorcism Of Roman" was shown. In the clip a mother tells a priest she didn't know where else to turn before he is shown to Roman's room. A possessed Roman retreats to an upper corner of the room and screams his name when asked what it is by the priest before the live performance begins again.
A performance that shows Nicki strapped to a table while dancers in robes gyrate beneath her. After freeing herself from the straps Nicki descends down a flight of stairs before things really go over the top. The exorcism begins complete with levitations and fire.
Catholic League President Bill Donohueissued a statement condemning the performance and Minaj.
Minaj’s performance began on stage with a mock confessional skit. This was followed by a taped video depicting a mock exorcism. With stained glass in the background, she appeared on stage again with choir boys and monks dancing.
Perhaps the most vulgar part was the sexual statement that showed a scantily clad female dancer stretching backwards while an altar boy knelt between her legs in prayer. Finally, “Come All Ye Faithful” was sung while a man posing as a bishop walked on stage; Minaj was shown levitating.
None of this was by accident, and all of it was approved by The Recording Academy, which puts on the Grammys. Whether Minaj is possessed is surely an open question, but what is not in doubt is the irresponsibility of The Recording Academy. Never would they allow an artist to insult Judaism or Islam.
No Lady Gaga performance at the 2012 Grammys? Bummer. But wanna-be controversial rapper Nicki Minaj was happy do her best Gaga imitation.
First she arrived dressed in a Gaga-esque Versace red cloak-cape outfit accompanied by some strange old dude dressed like the Pope but without the necessary papal headgear and ornaments. He was more likely emulating a lower level bishop or something.
Then Nicki went on stage with that same poor guy, who seriously looked like he came from Central Casting, and began “fessing” the lyrics to her new single “Roman Holiday."
It got even more annoying when the show cut to a a pre-taped segment with the same dude doing his best Exorcist routine. (Think vintage SNL: "Your Mother Eats Kitty Litter, Your Mother Sews Socks That Smell"). All the while, Minaj applied more lipstick and sang the lyrics to “I Feel Pretty." Seriously, not making this up.
In case you fell asleep at this point, the show quickly flashed back to the Staples Center stage, adorned with enough stained glass to put Notre Dame and Chartres Cathedral to shame as Minaj was strapped to -- but eventually miraculously escaped -- some kind of of Hammer Studios Bride ofFrankenstein table.
There was a lot of pyrotechniques, popes, choir boys, stained glass and even Minaj elevating. What no speaking in tongues? Wait, maybe that was the rap lyrics.
All of Minaj's sacrilegeous button-pushing is bound to annoy the Christian Right, the moral majority and make a few fleeting headlines. Was that the point?
Ouch! Tell us what you think of Nicki's performance in the comment section below.
Nicki Minaj's "Stupid H*e" music video has racked up over 20 million youtube hits since it premiered January 20, but it won't be seen on BET.
The cable network is refusing to air it according to TMZ because it's too explicit for television. Nicki tweeted on Saturday that the video would be seen on MTV Jams, which is also owned by Viacom so that wouldn't seem to make any sense.
Fans of the video can still see it unedited on youtube. The video-sharing website hasn't flagged it as being inappropriate or age-restricted.
BET has yet to release an official statement on the ban.
Drake released this video yesterday via his OctobersVeryOwn blog spot. It features a thick female dancing to "Practice." A track off of his platinum selling "Take Care" album. It initially looks like some random clip the young lady put together until Drizzy walks in near the end and gives her a big hug. While not the official video we're pretty sure most guys won't hate on it.
Drake is asking his female fans to submit videos of themselves dancing to his tune. It's not clear if the winner will appear in an official video for the track or if Drake just wants to see how many sexy ladies will actually send videos in.
Ladies if you're interested head over to Drake's website for information on how to submit your "Practice" video.
Cory Gunz is in police custody today after being arrested for possession of a loaded firearm. MTV is reporting that the 24-year old rapper was arrested around 2PM Saturday (January 28) in the Bronx.
Gunz was originally taken to the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx, then later transferred to Central Booking.
"It was definitely an illegal search," his father Peter Gunz told MTV. "I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I'm hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should 'look out.' According to [the officer], they didn't know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around."
New York has notoriously strict gun laws. Lil Wayne, who signed Cory to his Young Money label last year spent 242 days locked up in Rikers Island on a gun charge. Prodigy of Mobb Deep was released from prison in March 2011 after serving 3 years on similar charges.
Even though this is Cory's first offense his father is worried about what kind of punishment his son will face.
"To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it's heartbreaking. Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it's very hard. He's walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through," Peter said to MTV. "This is Cory's first offense, but sometimes they like to make an example out of rappers and people with any kind of celebrity to them."
Drake is looking to get back into acting in a big way by portraying Barack Obama if possible.
The former star of Degrassi: The Next Generation was interviewed by VH1 while attending the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah several days ago when he was asked about getting back into acting.
"I was inspired before I came out here," he said. "Now it's for sure."
Drake said that he's mostly offered roles of basketball players and rappers, but is looking for something with more substance.
"I've been reading scripts for a while. I wanna do something great," Drake told VH1's Janell Snowden. "I wanna do a movie specifically for my culture, the younger people who are still in tine with everything going on. I'm actually writing with my friends right now--the have a production company called Be Any Means Necessary. We're writing together trying to figure out the right movie."
According to Drake, the perfect role would be that of America's first African American President.
"I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama's life soon because I could play him," Drake told VH1. "That's the goal. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don't change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I'm pretty good at impressions."
It's always interesting watching rappers get interviewed by The Breakfast Club. DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God have a way of getting them to admit to certain things they may not want to.
Bow Wow was the latest artist to sit in the hot seat. The YMCMB rapper talked about the fallout stemming from putting his estranged alcoholic father in one of his webisodes, dealing with constant rumors, chopping it up with Snoop Dogg about doing a movie based on his life and becoming a father for the first time.
In addition Bow talked about past relationships with Karrine "Super Head" Steffans, Kim Kardashian, Dollicia Bryant and Ciara.
Nicki Minaj gets super animated in her new video for "Stupid Hoe." A song that could be perceived as a Lil Kim diss. The track is off of Nicki's upcoming album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
A$AP Rocky surprised the crowd last night at Toronto's Opera House by bringing out Drake during his show. The crowd went wild as Drizzy performed "Cameras" and "The Motto" off of his latest album Take Care.
A$AP and Drake will be hitting the road together later this year when the Young Money star launches his "Club Paradise Tour" in Miami on February 14. Kendrick Lamar will also take part in the tour which will play 17 U.S. dates before heading over to Europe for 18 additional dates, wrapping up in Nottingham, England on April 25th.
With the NFC's Green Bay Packers out of the running for the Super Bowl this year, Birdman has switched conferences entirely and decided to try his luck with the AFC's New England Patriots.
Stunna successfully bet $1 million dollars on the Packers to win last season. He's upping the ante this year by putting down $5 million on the Patriots to beat the New York Giants.
According to Birdman, Patriots running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis is his nephew. Eliis ran for 68 yards and scored a touchdown in the Patriots win over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game to help his team advance to the big show.
Super Bowl 46 will be played on Sunday February 5 at 6PM EST on NBC.
Tyga has earned a lifetime ban from the World Beat Center in San Diego, California after fans rioted when he failed to show for a concert there.
TMZ is reporting that the Young Money rapper was scheduled to perform at WBC on January 6, but never made it and didn't give the venue any advanced notice he wouldn't be performing. Once the 1200 fans inside realized Tyga wasn't coming they started trashing the facility.
The San Diego police department had to be called in to stop the riot after venue security got overwhelmed by the angry mob. It took 12 officers to stop the chaos and get the fans out of the venue.
Walls, floors and other property were reportedly damaged.
"I heard you say you aint a b*tch 'cause you sing/You a b*tch 'cause you cling like a b*tch that's 18" - Common "Stay Schemin" remix
As we previously reported, Drake and Common are beefing and it looks like Com is not even playing around as he fires off on Drake on the remix to "Stay Schemin." It's a direct reply to Drizzy's verse on the song.
“I just ask that when you see me, you speak up n*gga that’s all/Don’t be ducking like you never wanted nothing,” Drake raps on the track. “It’s feeling like rap changed, it was a time it was rugged/Back when if a n*gga reached it was for the weapon, nowadays n*ggas reach just to sell their record.”
There was immediate speculation that the verse was directed at Common, who previously dissed Drake on the song "Sweet"
“He [Drake] opened his mouth and said some things, so if that’s what he want, all that subliminal [talk]…you could do that too, but say it now,” Common told Sway of MTV News and Shade 45's "Sway in the Morning" back in December when asked if "Sweet" was directed at Drake. “The verse is about me but when you hear some of the stuff on the chorus it’s like you can’t help but think about dude and I guess that’s what he felt. So at the end of day he fits in that category, he already embraced it, so wear it.”
The battle is in full swing now. Check out Common's new diss below.
Tyga's "Rack City" is really a strip club anthem, but mix in a grandmother with a weird sense of humor and her grandson rapping the lyrics, then you have the ingredients for a viral video.
This is either pure comedy or madness.... you decide.
