AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Jayland Walker, the 25-year-old Black man who died last month at the hands of police in Akron, Ohio, was shot dozens of times, with 26 bullets recovered from his body.

Dr. Lisa Kohler, the Summit County medical examiner, said it was impossible for her office to say which bullet killed Walker.

Walker “had several very devastating injuries that would cause death,” including injuries to his heart, lungs & arteries, Kohler said. She tallied 41 entry wounds & 5 wounds from bullets that grazed Walker.

Walker had 5 wounds in his back, but it’s impossible to say whether those came as he ran away or turned as he was being shot.

Kohler said that no illegal drugs or alcohol were detected in Walker.

The medical examiner’s findings confirm that Walker, unarmed & with no drugs or alcohol in his system, “came to a brutal, senseless death,” said Ken Abbarno, a lawyer representing Walker’s family.

The NAACP made a direct plea to Attorney General Merrick Garland for the Justice Department to open a federal civil rights investigation into the shooting.

Police said Walker fled an attempted traffic stop for minor equipment violations & fired a shot from his car during the vehicle chase, but he wasn’t armed when officers shot him.

Police body camera footage shows Walker wearing a ski mask, jumping out the front passenger door of his car & then running into a parking lot where police opened fire. That blurry footage does not clearly show what authorities say was a threatening gesture made by Walker before he was shot.

An unloaded handgun, an ammunition clip & what appeared to be a wedding band were found on the front driver’s seat of Walker’s car.

The officers involved are on paid leave while the state investigates the shooting.

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Chyna, the WWE star who in the 1990s became one of the best-known and most-popular female professional wrestlers in history, has died, authorities said.

Police in Southern California said they were responding to a 911 call from a friend of former WWE wrestler Chyna when they found her dead in her Redondo Beach apartment.

A friend had gone Wednesday to check on Chyna, whose real name is Joan Marie Laurer, after she had failed to answer her phone for a few days, Redondo Beach police said in a statement. The friend told the 911 operator that Laurer wasn't breathing.

The 46-year-old Laurer was dead when officers arrived, police said. Several media outlets report that she was 45.

Neither police nor coroner's officials have released any cause of death.

A coroner's investigator was still at the location with the body late Wednesday night, according to Los Angeles County coroner's Lt. Larry Dietz. He said he had no further information on the death.

The tall, muscle-bound, raven-haired Laurer billed herself as the "9th Wonder of the World" because her wrestling predecessor Andre the Giant had already called himself the eighth.

She was a member of the wrestling squad that dubbed itself "D-Generation X," often wrestled against men and at one point was the WWE women's champion.

On her official website a statement posted Wednesday night reads, "Today we lost a true icon, a real life superhero. Joanie Laurer aka Chyna, the 9th Wonder of the World has passed away. She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her."

Laurer was a native of Rochester, New York and graduated from the University of Tampa in Florida before taking up wrestling.

She joins a long list of WWE professional wrestlers who have died relatively young, including Rick Rude, Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig, the Ultimate Warrior and Owen Hart.

After leaving the WWE in 2001, Laurer posed for Playboy and appeared in adult films and on reality TV, including the shows "The Surreal Life" and "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew."

This story has been updated to reflect that Laurer was 46, according to a police statement.

Never before seen footage has just been released of a deadly police shooting that happened on July 1st.

49-year old Milton Hall, whose family says was mentally ill got into a confrontation with Saginaw, Michigan police outside of a shut-down Chinese restaurant.

Hall is holding a knife and is directed by police to put the knife down.

"I aint putting sh*t down," Hall can be heard saying on the video tape. He also tells the cops to let their police dog come at him.

"Let him go. Let the motherf*cking dog go," he says. "My name is Milton Hall and I just called 911. My name is Milton and I'm p*ssed off!"

12349439287?profile=original

Shortly afterwards Hall takes several steps towards the officers and shots ring out. In total 46 shots were fired at Hall by six police officers according to the New York Daily News.

"I'm stunned that six human beings would stand in front of one human being and fire 46 shots," victim Milton Hall’s mother, Jewel, told CNN. "It appeared to be a firing squad dressed in police uniforms. There was another way. They did not have to kill him. He was not violent. He was not a murderer. He was not a criminal."

Jewel said her son received social security benefits for his mental illness, but "He knew his rights."

"Everybody knew him. The police knew him well," she said. "So that's another question: they know him, so why? Why did they kill him?"

Saginaw County Prosecutor Michael Thomas disagreed with Hall's mother. He told CNN that Hall had been “threatening to assault police,” and Gerald Cliff, the town’s police chief, said Hall was "known to be an assaultive person."

Saginaw City Councilman Norman Braddock has said that the Hall investigation needs to be prioritized.

"I can see what people are traumatized at, looking at something like that," Braddock said after watching the video. "We need answers."

"The attorney general office, as we understand, has joined in the investigation with the Saginaw County Prosecutor, now, still today, as we speak, we don't know what the outcome of that state police investigation report is," Gary Loster, spokesperson for the Concerned Citizens group told WNEM.

"Was it justifiable or was it not? Simply keep the investigation transparent and keep the people aware of what's going on," said Loster.

There are big wagers taking place all over the country as Super Bowl 46 inches closer to taking place. Few will be bigger than a proposed bet between 50 Cent and Birdman.

As we previously reported, 50 won $500,000 dollars when he bet on the New York Giants to beat the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game, paving their way to the Super Bowl.

A day later Birdman tweeted that he was willing to place a $5 million dollar bet with anyone on the New England Patriots to defeat the Giants in the big game. Fif answered the call by telling Stunna he'd bet him $1 million instead.

With the NFC's Green Bay Packers out of the running for the Super Bowl this year, Birdman has switched conferences entirely and decided to try his luck with the AFC's New England Patriots.

Stunna successfully bet $1 million dollars on the Packers to win last season. He's upping the ante this year by putting down $5 million on the Patriots to beat the New York Giants.

According to Birdman, Patriots running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis is his nephew. Eliis ran for 68 yards and scored a touchdown in the Patriots win over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game to help his team advance to the big show.

In what turned out to be a very exciting fight, Bernard Hopkins became the oldest boxer to win a legitimate title by beating Jean Pascal last night in Montreal.

He broke the record previously held by George Foreman, who won a heavyweight belt at age 45.

The 46-year old "Executioner" fought like a man half his age, as he outsmarted and outworked his 28-year old opponent.

B-Hop used every trick in the books to successfully get inside the head of Pascal, who seemed to become frustrated by Hopkins tactics.

Hopkins taunted Pascal by talking trash, sticking out his tongue and even doing push ups in the middle of the ring.

12348879865?profile=original
In the end though, it was Hopkins boxing skills that won the fight. He consistently beat Pascal to the punch. Using his jab to set up overhand rights that he seemed to land at will.

Although both fighters were hit by some very hard shots, neither was officially knocked down. Pascal should have been called for two knockdowns though. His gloves touched the canvas twice following punches by Hopkins, which should have automatically been ruled as knockdowns, but the referee failed to properly rule them that way.

The fight was a rematch of their December 2010 bout that ended in a controversial draw decision. Most thought Hopkins won that battle.

Leading up to the 2nd fight there was a lot of bad blood and trash talking between the two fighters. At one point Pascal accused Hopkins of using steroids, but those accusations only fueled Hopkins fire.

“I didn't feel like I was 46 tonight, I felt more like 36,” Hopkins said after the fight. “I can say I'm a great fighter, it was exciting, I think everybody enjoyed themselves.”

Hopkins took home the WBC, IBO and The Ring Magazine titles with the victory and cemented his legacy as one of the greatest fighters in middleweight history.

Next up for B-Hop will be a match against Chad Dawson, who fought and won on the undercard.

SEOUL, South Korea — South Korean authorities stepped up searches for 46 sailors still missing Saturday, hours after a naval ship sank near a disputed sea border with North Korea.

Navy and coast guard vessels, as well as air force planes, were searching the waters near South Korea's Baeknyeong Island where the 1,200-ton Cheonan sank during a routine patrolling mission.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said rescuers had picked up 58 sailors but 46 still were missing.

President Lee Myung-bak ordered officials to find the cause of the sinking quickly while keeping in mind all possibilities, presidential spokeswoman Kim Eun-hye said Saturday. There was no indication North Korea was to blame, but troops kept a vigilant watch.

Lee reconvened a security meeting and instructed officials to make all efforts to rescue the missing sailors, the spokeswoman said. Kim added there were no signs of North Korean troop movement.

Some senior government officials have speculated the sinking may have been an accident, not an attack, South Korean media said.

Friday's accident happened hours after North Korea's military threatened "unpredictable strikes" against the U.S. and South Korea in anger over a report the two countries plan to prepare for possible instability in the totalitarian country.

The two Koreas remain locked in a state of war because their three-year conflict ended in a truce, not a peace treaty, in 1953.

Since then, the two Koreas have fought three bloody skirmishes in the Yellow Sea waters. And in January, North Korea fired about 30 artillery rounds not far from Baeknyeong; the South Korean military fired 100 warning shots in response.

Unidentified military officials told South Korea's Yonhap news agency that an explosion tore a hole into the Cheonan's rear hull, shutting off the engine, wiping out the power and quickly taking the ship down. A number of crew members jumped into the water, Yonhap said.

Nearby Baeknyeong Island, four hours by boat from the South Korean port of Incheon but just 10 miles (20 kilometers) from North Korea, was turned into a triage center, with islanders helping to treat injured crew members, according to cable network YTN.

In Washington, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Friday the U.S. was closely monitoring the accident, but there was no evidence that could indicate North Korea's involvement.

"It's looking more and more like it was just an accident that happens on a ship," Carl Baker, an expert on Korean military relations at the Pacific Forum CSIS think tank in Honolulu, said by telephone.

He said Pyongyang was unlikely to attack the far more powerful South Korean military.
