Brittney Griner weighed in on Russia's detainment of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, saying she's greatly concerned for his safety & urging President Biden to do everything he can to bring him home.

The WNBA star took to Instagram Saturday night to show her support for Gershkovich, who was taken into custody by Russian authorities last Thursday & accused of spying.

As you know, Griner was convicted by a Russian court for possessing cannabis oil in 2022 & she spent 10 months in a Russian jail before the Biden administration got her released in a prisoner swap.

Griner & her wife, Cherelle, wrote, “Our hearts are filled with great concern for Evan Gershkovich & his family since Evan's detainment in Russia." They continued, “Every American who is taken is ours to fight for & every American returned is a win for us all."

The couple then called on Biden to use every tool at his disposal to bring Gershkovich home, as well as all Americans who have been wrongfully detained abroad. Gershkovich was the first US journalist to be detained in Russia on an espionage charge since the Cold War.

The Wall Street Journal has denied the spying charge & demanded the immediate release of Gershkovich.

President Biden sent a blunt message Friday to Russia to "Let him go," referring to Gershkovich. Vice President Kamala Harris said she's "deeply concerned" about the arrest amid rising tensions with Moscow over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

US officials were working to gain access to Gershkovich, but, so far, have not been able to do so.

THIBODAUX, La. (WJW)– Former Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Greg Robinson was arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop in Louisiana on Monday.

Thibodaux police pulled over Robinson’s Cadillac Escalade for a traffic violation. That’s when the K-9 alerted officers to the smell of narcotics in the SUV. Police said they found cocaine, crack cocaine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, Xanax and marijuana.

Later, the police department’s narcotics division searched Robinson’s properties. They discovered drugs worth about $120,810, according to Thibodaux police.

Robinson was taken to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex, where he remains on a $315,000.00 bond.

Here’s a list of what was seized:

*Approximately 3.16 pounds of suspected crystal methamphetamine
*Approximately 2.22 pounds of suspected cocaine
*Approximately 38.89 pounds of suspected marijuana
*Approximately 4 grams of crack cocaine
*Approximately 227 doses of suspected hydrocodone
*Approximately 48 doses of suspected oxycodone
*Approximately 18 doses of alprazolam
*A large assortment of drug trafficking and packaging equipment/paraphernalia
*Firearm magazines and ammunition
*A small amount of U.S. currency

Robinson was selected with the second overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Rams. He signed with the Browns in 2018 and became a free agent after the 2019 season.

In February 2020, he was arrested in Texas with 157 pounds of marijuana.

Although Chadwick Boseman knew for years he had terminal cancer, we now know he died without writing a will, but he made a key move months before his death to financially protect his wife.

The "Black Panther" star's widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, has filed probate docs, obtained by TMZ, in which she asks to be named administrator of Chadwick's estate. Taylor has to file the docs in probate court because he did not leave a will.

That seems odd considering Chadwick was diagnosed with colon cancer 4 years ago, and knew it was terminal. However, that also puts his marriage to Taylor, who he reportedly dated since 2015, in a new light ... and here's why.

They got engaged in late 2019, and reportedly tied the knot at some point in 2020. That's important because when a person dies without a will and without children, their surviving spouse inherits all the assets of the probate estate.

According to the docs, Taylor gets nearly $1 million in personal property and assets, but that's not a true reflection of Chadwick's wealth and success. Most likely the majority of his assets are held in separate private trusts.

In the docs, Taylor notes Chadwick is also survived by his 2 parents.

As you know, he was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and it progressed to stage IV as he silently battled through it. Chadwick died in his home surrounded by his wife and family.

The recent spate of violence was sparked by the arrest of high-ranking drug cartel member Arnoldo Rueda Medina.

CNN Reports A federal judge ordered 10 municipal police officers arrested Saturday in connection with the slayings of 12 off-duty federal agents in southwestern Mexico, the attorney general's office said. The federal officers' bodies were found Tuesday on a remote highway in Michoacan state, where at least 18 federal agents and two soldiers have been killed since July 11 due to drug-related violence. Video from the scene showed three signs, known as narcomensajes, or narcomessages, left by the killers. They all stated the same thing: "So that you come for another. We will be waiting for you here." The officers arrested Saturday are on the police force in the city of Arteaga. Mexican President Felipe Calderon, whose home state is Michoacan, responded to the violence by dispatching 1,000 federal police officers to the area. The infusion, which more than tripled the number of federal police officers patrolling Michoacan, angered Michoacan Gov. Leonel Godoy Rangel. He called it an occupation and said he had not been consulted. Authorities said Wednesday they were searching for the governor's half-brother, who they say is a top-ranking member of La Familia Michoacana drug cartel. The cartel is blamed for most of the recent violence in the state. The governor's brother, Julio Cesar Godoy Toscano, was elected July 5 to the lower house of Congress. The governor has publicly urged his brother to surrender. There were no reports of his apprehension as of late Saturday. The sudden spike in violence followed the arrest July 11 of Arnoldo Rueda Medina, described as a high-ranking member of La Familia. La Familia members attacked the federal police station in Morelia to try to gain freedom for Rueda shortly after his arrest, authorities said. When that failed, cartel members attacked federal police installations in at least a half-dozen Michoacan cities. Under Mexican law, the officers arrested Saturday will be held for 40 days while officials determine whether to formally charge them.
