For a hot minute, Houston rapper Mike Jones was everywhere. Dude was gimmicky, repeating his name throughout songs and giving out his real cell number. But people overlooked that because he had a bonafied hit early on with "Still Tippin", a collaboration with Slim Thug and Pall Wall. At that time, Mike was with Michal "5000" Watts at Swishahouse where he dropped the album 'Who Is Mike Jones?'. Seeing an opportunity to grab a bigger piece of the pie, Mike formed Ice Age Entertainment and dropped the mostly ignored album 'The Voice'. In addition to waning popularity, Mike was running into trouble with other rappers locally in Houston. At the 2008 Ozone Awards, held in Houston, he got punched in the nose by Trae The Truth for referring to himself as the "President Of Houston", even though he never repped the city according to Trae. Ozone caught up with Pall Wall recently and asked him just what the hell happened to Mike. Seems, Mike wasn't one of Paul's favorite people and he let that be known. "Ever since he left Swishahouse I haven’t really kept track of him. I really didn’t know him too well before he came to Swishahouse. I’d say he dug his own grave. He lied to a lot of people, he turned his back on a lot of people, and he burned a lot of bridges. I don’t want to kick a dog while he’s down and I don’t wanna just talk shit about him, but I think a lot of people were happy when [Trae] punched him and knocked him out. But at the same time, a lot of people were mad at Trae too. It’s not like Mike Jones is the gangsta of the year, so in my opinion, you don’t really get points for beating up Mike Jones. Some people say it was a publicity stunt on Trae’s part, but I disagree with that totally because I know Trae and he doesn’t really do publicity stunts like that. If Trae feels disrespected, he’s going to address it. I think that’s what happened. If somebody disrespects you, [punching them] is not always the answer, but it’s definitely sometimes the answer. So I don’t feel like Trae was wrong in any form or fashion. Trae doesn’t do publicity stunts. But like I said, Mike Jones burned his bridge with a lot of people, so he probably had a knock out coming from somewhere at some time anyway. I’m positive of that." Well, Damn!! Video After The Jump When I originally saw this video, the first thought that came to mind was, who in the hell thought of this sh*t in the first place?. I mean it had to start somewhere. Mules, named Dipsey Doodle and Smokey are made to high dive 22 feet from a platform into a six foot pool at the "All-American High Diving Aqua Mules" show in Pipe Creek, Texas. Crowds come and pay six bucks per person to watch and laugh at the spectacle. The show's owner, Bill Rivers thinks the mules love it. "All I can say, you know, is what's wrong with a mule diving in a pool on a hot day? I mean it sounds pretty good to me," Bill says. On one of the practice runs, Bill is heard yelling "yee haw" as Smokey hits the "pool". No joke, I only though they said that phrase in old western movies, haha. Police have ruled that the show isn't harming the animals and is legal. I can think of better ways to spend $6, but it's obvious some people like this kind of entertainment. But there are people who don't like it at all. AnimalsChange.org has started a petition to have the show stopped. Guess we'll see what happens. twitter-2d.png

Videos After The Jump I've been thinking about blogging this subject for a while. But it wasn't until I found out that actor/rapper/clown, Joaquin Phoenix's documentary was actually being released that I went ahead and tackled this mess. Joaquin Phoenix the very gifted actor, decided he was bored with acting and wanted to try his hand at rapping. Many people speculate this has all been a big joke played on us and the documentary detailing his road to becoming a rapper 'I'm Still Here' is actually a mockumentary. Meant to poke fun at hip hop culture while Phoenix and his flunky, Casey Affleck laugh at it's expense. Then there are those people like Diddy, who say Joaquin really is a rapper. Diddy was supposed to produce Joaquin's debut cd and has produced at least one song for Phoenix. "Joaquin's for real," Diddy told MTV. "If he's not for real, he tricked me, we went into the studio, did a record, mixed a record and everything." That's an official co-sign from the man that has worked on records with Notorious, B.I.G, Mary J Blage, The Lox and others. So i blame all of the buffoonery in the videos below on Diddy Joaquin rapping Joaquin rapping and fighing guy in audience I'm Still Here' Movie Trailer (Diddy & Joaquin Hug at :38) twitter-2d.png

Video After The Jump Bow Wow is feeling anxious about his next album. He's been promoting his new movie 'Lottery Ticket' and hasn't had the time to get in the booth. The Cash Money rapper told Nnete of Houston's 97.9 The Box that he recently called up his former protege, Jermaine Dupri to share his concerns. "I was just talking to Jermaine [Dupri] yesterday. I called him and was like 'yo I know I never really called you and said anything like this before. I'm kind of scared, I'm nervous because I wanna get in the studio so bad. I'm know for putting out hit records and I don't wanna be away for too long to where I don't know what that feeling feels like again.'" It's both a gift and a curse for the 23 year old, but he says Birdman is very happy that he's opened the door for more Cash Money artists to get movie roles. Bow Wow reveals that he almost got Nicki Minaj a part in the movie. “To be honest Nicki was close to being “Nikki” in the movie…I was responsible for that. I said let’s get Nicki out here to audition and I called Nicki and she actually auditioned. I thought she did good but unfortunately you know how things don’t work out." Bow recently visited Lil Wayne is prison. He said Weezy told him to stay out of trouble because guys like them aren't built for jail. “It was a humbling experience and one thing he told me when I went to visit him was ‘Bow, This aint for us, this aint it.. This aint built for cats like us. They don’t understand us we don’t understand them.. don’t do it man, just stay out of trouble you and Drizzy yall stay clean yall stay doing what yall do yall can do this forever. all of this, it aint worth it . I knew he meant it, cause Tune never lectures me like that but he was serious.’ His spirits are high. When he gets out we definitely planning on this Young Money Cash Money Tour, myself, Nicki, Drizzy Wayne and the whole entire family.” twitter-2a.png

Video After The Jump J.Cole is the only rapper signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation imprint. I think that says a lot about the confidence Hov has in the 25 year old rapper/producer from Fayetteville, North Carolina. Cole recently sat down with New York Daily News and talked about how he got his start in the business and what led to his signing with Jay-Z. "I started rapping when I was 12 years old, back home in Fayetteville. From 12 years old I kinda knew this is something I really wanna do," he says. "Like it was more than just fun. I was already picturing being in the studio making songs, doing videos." In his hometown, there weren't a lot of producers at that time, so Cole started making beats for himself. At 18 he moved to New York hoping to get signed. It took a few years, but the Saint John's University graduate eventually got his big break. "Mark Pitts, who managed Biggie and signed Chris Brown and signed Ciarra, loved my stuff and played "Lights Please", a song I got for Jay-Z. And then here we are, here about a year later." Look for J.Cole's not yet titled debut to hit stores in December. twitter-2a.png

More Pics After The Jump Dollicia Bryan has been mentioned in some circles as the younger, hotter version of Kim Kardashian. At least that's what Dollicia told King Magazine in the interview accompanying her latest shoot for them. "The media compared me to Kim, the Queen of media, as a younger hotter version." Dollicia, while giving Kim K. props for becoming a mega star, feels like they are two very different people. "I can see the comparison; we have similar shaped bodies, very curvy. But we’re two different women. I’m a mother, so I can never be famous for leaking a sex tape." I don't know, this sex tape thing seems to be the new way to gain quick fame. Much respect to Ms. Bryan for wanting to do things the old fashioned way. Is Dollicia bonafied wifey material or just a smash and dash?

Video After The Jump We might be getting closer to getting that Diplomats reunion disc. Either that or Cam'ron and Jim Jones were just clowning around when they released the video saying "the deal is almost done" from twitter. But knowing how serious Jimmy and Killa are about their paper, a major label deal must be imminent;

That's great news for Dipset fans who have been hoping these guys could put their differences aside. I mean crews in hip hip are dying out. You got G-Unit,D-Block. Gucci Mane's Brick Squad, Soulja Boy's SOD Money Gang, Slim Thug's Boss Hogg Outlawz and The Diplomats and that;s it. No idea on the label situation, but real talk after hearing "Salute", you know the chemistry is still there. Freekey Zekey, Juelz Santana. Jim Jones Cam'ron, let's get it! twitter-2a.png

Attention starved Spencer Pratt, the dude who once proclaimed himself "the white Jay-Z" although hardly anyone has heard him rap, is about to put his soon to ex-wife's assets on public display, for a fee of course. Vivid Entertainment is in negotiations with Pratt to buy a sex tape featuring Pratt and Heidi Montag according to TMZ. Steven Hirsch, the man who brought us Montana Fishburne's "leopard booty" told TMZ earlier today. "I just got off the phone with Spencer Pratt about a sex tape with Heidi Montag." I'm wondering if we're going to see the Heidi before or after the 10 plastic surgeries in one day. I kind of think she looked better before the fake boobs and botox injections.

Spencer is bragging that this sex tape "makes Kim Kardashian look like an amateur." Considering Kim's tape was boring as hell, that shouldn't be hard to do. twitter-2a.png

A Saudi judge has asked several hospitals if they are willing to damage a man's spinal cord as punishment for a cleaver attack that left a 22-year-old paralysed. The victim, Abdul-Aziz al Mutairi, became paralysed and subsequently lost a foot after a fight more than two years ago. An unnamed man was sentenced to 14 months in prison for the assault, but released after serving only half that time. The shortened jail time has reportedly enraged Mr Mutairi's family. His 27-year-old brother Khaled said they want an equivalent punishment for the attacker and have appealed to a judge in northwestern Tabuk province. "We are asking for our legal right under Islamic law," the brother said. "There is no better word than God's word - an eye for an eye." The judge has since asked several hospitals if medical paralysis was possible and would they perform the operation. Local newspapers reported a facility in the capital Riyadh had declined, saying it could not inflict such harm. Saudi Arabia enforces strict Islamic law and occasionally hands out punishments based on the ancient legal code. Amnesty International has expressed concerns over the reports and said it was contacting Saudi authorities for details. "We are very concerned and we will appeal to the authorities not to carry out such a punishment," said Lamri Chirouf, the group's researcher on Saudi Arabia. He added this was the first time Amnesty had heard of a punishment involving the damaging of a spinal cord. "It's hard to follow details of the Saudi justice system. People are sentenced in closed trials with no access to the public and no lawyers." Source: Yahoo Props To @Corentin For The Heads Up

Drake may be one of the hottest rappers in the game, but he's still not calling baller shots just yet. The Young Money rapper reached out to MTV's 2010 Hottest Breakthrough Artist in the hopes he would join his 'Light Dreams and Nightmare Tour', "If Wiz by any chance watches this, you gotta make some calls for me and make this happen," Drake told MTV. "We got that young energy right now, we need to go out here and kill these people." Wiz got the massage and says no thanks according to XXL due to his own tour. “Just the fact of cuz even extending his hand and me being on his radar is tight, to me,” he said. “It just lets me know that I’m doin’ what I need to be doin’ as far as stayin’ relevant and stayin’ poppin’. But I think to keep me poppin’ and keep me relevant I gotta stay buildin’ on top of what I’m doin’ and what I been doin’. No disrespect to cuz or anybody else who might wanna see me do some more collaborative things, but to keep buildin’ and keep my brand as strong as what it is, I gotta keep focusin’ on what it is. This is my first tour that I got comin’ up, the Waken Baken tour, I gotta at least kick that off and make that it what it is so we can do ten more." Drake's tour features Bun B and Clipse as opening acts, certainly it could have been a good look for Pittsburgh's Wiz, but the timing just isn't right. Wiz did say that he would like to meet and hang out with Drizzy soon. “I really want to meet him and chop it up with him,” he said. “I wanna meet him, chop it up, smoke one with him and who knows what could happen. But it’s all positive right now," Wiz said. twitter-2a.png

Video After The Jump Montana Fishburne's "leopard booty" is the running punchline in this Brian Pumper spoof. I'm not gonna front, when I 1st saw those I had a similar reaction to those "spots". She better get those removed ASAP or her porn career will be over before it even gets started good. I know Laurence Fishburne is somewhere pulling his hair out over this mess. Sorry Laurence, this sh*t is funny as hell, he's even clowning Drake's growl. twitter-2a.png

It only takes one listen to Eminem's latest album to see the 37 year old mc is at a good place in his life. He's kicked a lot of old bad habits and it shows in his music. 'Recovery' just reached double platinum status and it probably has a lot to do with two things. He has a very loyal fan base and also because his subject material is not rehashed from past albums. Em doesn't take his normal shots at annoying pop stars on this album. One diva in particular he chose to ignore has been a thorn in his side for a while, but Slim tells Vibe he's off that now. There won't be any more Mariah Carey disses coming. "You know what? I got to be honest. I really don’t want to talk about her anymore only just because it’s kind of like the last thing I said about her was on “Cold Wind Blows.” I made the comment. (9) I don’t want to keep beating a dead horse. I’m not even going to comment about it. I’m done with that whole situation. I said what I had to say. I’m done." twitter-2a.png

When it comes to Jay-Z and Lil Wayne, there is no comparison if you ask Birdman. In a story reported by HipHopWired, the Cash Money CEO says Jay-Z takes a back seat to his "son" as both a rapper and in earning money. "I don't think he [Jay-Z] a number one emcee in no kinda way. Wayne the best he do the most and he make the most money," he said. Forbes recently ranked Jay-Z as hip hop's top earner with $63 million made, with Lil Wayne ranked fourth with an earned income of $20 million, Birdman disputes their figures. "I don't think no n*gga in the business make more money than us. How could you be the best if you don't make the best money, the most money and you don't do the most. Lyrically, come on man be for real man can't nobody f*ck with Wayne. And to me, if you number one and you ain't getting no money it don't mean nothing. Who's making the most money. That's number one to me. F*ck all that rap sh*t. Sh*t, y'all got cold rappers you never even heard and then you got n*ggas who really can't rap and making money. It's about who's making the most money to me. I don't give a f*ck about the rest of that sh*t." Still, after jabbing Jay-Z pretty hard, Baby wanted to make it known that there was no beef with Hov “No, no, [beef]. Nothing personal, they just asked me my opinion and that was my opinion. I think we do the most and make the most, so if you don't like it, that's on you. I can't see past Wayne, so I can't see Jay-Z." I don't know, that kind of sounded like steak to me.
