Drake may be one of the hottest rappers in the game, but he's still not calling baller shots just yet. The Young Money rapper reached out to MTV's 2010 Hottest Breakthrough Artist in the hopes he would join his 'Light Dreams and Nightmare Tour', "If Wiz by any chance watches this, you gotta make some calls for me and make this happen," Drake told MTV. "We got that young energy right now, we need to go out here and kill these people." Wiz got the massage and says no thanks according to XXL due to his own tour. “Just the fact of cuz even extending his hand and me being on his radar is tight, to me,” he said. “It just lets me know that I’m doin’ what I need to be doin’ as far as stayin’ relevant and stayin’ poppin’. But I think to keep me poppin’ and keep me relevant I gotta stay buildin’ on top of what I’m doin’ and what I been doin’. No disrespect to cuz or anybody else who might wanna see me do some more collaborative things, but to keep buildin’ and keep my brand as strong as what it is, I gotta keep focusin’ on what it is. This is my first tour that I got comin’ up, the Waken Baken tour, I gotta at least kick that off and make that it what it is so we can do ten more." Drake's tour features Bun B and Clipse as opening acts, certainly it could have been a good look for Pittsburgh's Wiz, but the timing just isn't right. Wiz did say that he would like to meet and hang out with Drizzy soon. “I really want to meet him and chop it up with him,” he said. “I wanna meet him, chop it up, smoke one with him and who knows what could happen. But it’s all positive right now," Wiz said. twitter-2a.png

Video After The Jump Drake is doing it big right now. The Toronto MC's debut album, Thank Me Later, is platinum, he's about to headline his upcoming Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour and he's just notched 1 million Twitter followers. With that type of success, there's probably very little that is out of the lyricist's reach. But Drake revealed that there is one thing he wants that he hasn't been able to secure yet: snagging Wiz Khalifa as his tourmate. "I had a little bit of a fan moment, I tried to get this third cat on my tour," Drizzy told more than 30,000 fans who logged on to check him out live on Ustream on Thursday (August 19). The broadcast came on the heels of the premiere of his "Miss Me" video with Lil Wayne. Apparently, Drake was keeping his plan to add another act to his tour on the low. "You know we was trying to get Wiz on the tour," he said, simultaneously informing listeners and his team who were hanging out in the room and clearly didn't know what he was referring to. The MC then addressed his fans once again: "Hopefully, the Light Dreams [and] Nightmares Tour, depending on what city we go to, it'll be Clipse, Bun B and Wiz Khalifa. That's what I'm hoping. I don't know, maybe I spoke too soon." Clipse were already confirmed to join the Young Money MC on the road, along with Houston O.G. Bun B, when the tour kicks off on September 20 in Miami. The chart-topping singer and rapper asked the "Hottest Breakthrough MC" directly about possibly joining the fall tour. "If Wiz by any chance watches this, you gotta make some calls for me and make this happen," Drake said. "We got that young energy right now, we need to go out here and kill these people." In addition to making his plea for a more Taylor Gang-friendly Light Dreams tour lineup, the MC said he really wants to work with producer 9th Wonder on the follow-up to Thank Me Later. "9th, can we start this next album please?" Drake asked. "Because I know you in the studio," he added, urging the North Carolina artist to work on his sophomore effort, which Drizzy hopes to release by next year. The rapper also revealed that he initially wanted the ex-Little Brother beatsmith to contribute to Later, but wasn't able to make it happen. "I'd greatly appreciate it if we could get some work done because I know last time we weren't able to do that." While his touring and production rosters are still up in the air, Drake said he could confirm to fans that one particular event is a definite: a homecoming concert for Lil Wayne. "November 5, the Welcome Home Weezy concert," Drake said. Although he didn't reveal the location, Drizzy assured fans they wouldn't want to miss it. "That's gonna be crazy," Drizzy smiled. "I told you I got you. I would never just Ustream and talk about nothing."

After four weeks and more than 200,000 votes, Wiz Khalifa is MTV News' "Hottest Breakthrough MC of 2010," beating out some 19 other candidates in a poll decided by you, the MTVNews.com readers.

The Kush & Orange Juice star won a tough competition, beating other top-5 finalists Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, Travis Porter and Diggy Simmons. (Check back on Monday for the official poll results and rankings.)

The announcement was made Sunday (July 25) on MTV2's "Sucker Free Summit."

More than 200,000 votes were tallied, and Wiz's loyal "Taylor Gang" following was out in force, propelling the woozy-flowed rapper into the top spot.

Wiz broke onto the scene more than five years ago with his first mixtape, and his rise has been steady and deliberate, as he's gradually built a strong following and won over peers and DJs alike with his easygoing charm and laid-back rhymes.

"I'm digging Wiz. I'm digging what he's doing, especially coming from a place like Pittsburgh," DJ Drama told MTV News. "It's not necessarily that [Wiz] is a product of his environment, but it's always good to see someone put a city on the map [like Wiz has]."

To recap the rules, this poll was strictly limited to up-and-coming talent: artists could not have released a major-label album by June 21, 2010, or been voted into a previous "Hottest MCs in the Game" top 10, so MCs like Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Andre 3000, Eminem, Kanye West and even Drake — our #3 Hottest MC last year - and chart-topper B.o.B were not eligible. (We'll have the 2010 "Hottest MCs" rollout later this year.) Voters were asked to base their decisions on the following factors: The MC's musical skill (rhyme ability, flow and songwriting) as well as their buzz on the street and the impact they've had on the game so far.

We'll have lots more from the "Hottest Breakthroughs" in the coming days — thanks to everyone who voted, tweeted and otherwise got involved! And keep an eye out for MTV News' "Hottest MCs in the Game" later this year!
