Recovery (20)

President Biden tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, days after he logged a negative test after taking Paxlovid to treat the virus, he said on Twitter.

Biden, 79, posted on Twitter that so-called “rebound” cases like his happen “with a small minority of folks.”

“I’ve got no symptoms but I am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me,” the tweet said. “I’m still at work, and will be back on the road soon.”

Biden first tested positive for COVID on July 21, and subsequently tested negative Tuesday night after being administered the drug Paxlovid.

White House Physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor said in a letter on Saturday that Biden was among “a small percentage” of Paxlovid recipients who saw their symptoms “rebound.”

Biden tested positive on an antigen test and will isolate in case he is contagious, O’Connor.

A monthlong mission in Ohio recently turned up 45 missing children and led to 179 arrests, authorities said.

In an operation dubbed Autumn Hope, the US Marshals Service in Ohio and Virginia tracked the children, including a “high-risk” 15-year-old girl from Cleveland who was linked to suspected human trafficking, authorities said Monday.

Twenty other children were also located as authorities checked on their well-being.

During one of the missing children recoveries, a loaded gun was recovered. A 15-year-old boy had two warrants and is suspected in multiple shootings and a murder, authorities said.

Two other juveniles were found in West Virginia during a traffic stop, leading to the arrest of an adult male who was charged with concealment/removal of a minor child in Jackson County.

Autumn Hope was conducted by the marshals in conjunction with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force, as well as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and state and local agencies in Ohio.

“My thanks to all personnel who have stepped up for this operation,” said Peter C. Tobin, US Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio. “These are the same personnel who hunt down violent fugitives every day. I’m incredibly proud of them and pleased that they were able to apply those same skills to finding missing children. I know Operation Autumn Hope has made a difference in a lot of young lives.”

The US Marshals have conducted similar operations before, including in Ohio.

Last month, they said 35 missing children, between the ages of 13 and 18 from the Cuyahoga County area, were located during Operation Safety Net. Just over 20 percent of the found cases were tied to human trafficking.

That same month, the marshals also announced the arrest of 262 suspects, including 141 gang members, and the recovery of five missing children in Oklahoma.

Thirty-nine children were found in Georgia during Operation Not Forgotten in August and eight missing kids were recovered in Indiana in September as part of Operation Homecoming.

The marshals have found missing children in 75 percent of cases the agency has received — and 72 percent of those cases were recovered within a week, officials said.

Since 2005, the agency has recovered more than 2,000 missing kids.

The dynamic duo of Eminem and Lil Wayne descended onto the Saturday Night Live stage yesterday for 3 high energy performances.

Backed by a live band, Weezy and Slim Shady tore through “No Love” and “Won’t Back Down" off Em’s ‘Recovery’ album. Then for the finale Wayne ripped through his latest single “6’7” off his upcoming ‘Tha Carter IV’ cd.

Overall, it was very entertaining. Would have been even better if Pink was there for the chorus on “Won’t Back Down” and Cory Gunz for his verse on “6’7”, but a great show nonetheless.

Rap legend DR. DRE is working on another album in addition to his long-awaited DETOX record - he's preparing a disc full of space-inspired instrumentals.

The superproducer has promised to release the follow-up to his 1999 hit, 2001, by the end of the year (10) after numerous delays.

But he reveals there's another project in the works too - and it's truly out of this world.

He tells Vibe magazine, "An instrumental album is something I've been wanting to do for a long time. I have the ideas for it.

"I want to call it The Planets... It's just my interpretation of what each planet sounds like. I'm gonna go off on that. Just all instrumental. I've been studying the planets and learning the personalities of each planet.

"I've been doing this for about two years now, just in my spare time, so to speak. I wanna do it in surround sound. It'll have to be in surround sound for Saturn to work."

A release date for the tentatively-titled The Planets has yet to be announced.

More Pics After The Jump

Eminem's new album 'Recovery' is hitting on all cylinders. It's been the number 1 album in the country for four weeks and almost every song is being well received by radio.

At the rate things are going Em might be able to put out singles from this cd for the next year.

The latest single, "Love The Way You Lie" featuring Rihanna is number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The video just wrapped shooting over the weekend according to director Joseph Kahn.

"And that's a wrap! Eminem/Rhianna premieres in a week!" the director tweeted on Saturday (July 24).

Also the worst kept secret in the business was confirmed as pictures leaked courtesy of Onlocationnews, showing Megan Fox on the set of the video.

In the pics Megan can be seen flirting and kissing co-star Dominic Monaghan.

Should be interesting to see how the entire video turned out when it debuts this week.

Eminem and Rihanna have already hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with "Love the Way You Lie," the second single from Slim Shady's smash hit album Recovery. The song has managed to scale the chart without the benefit of a music video, but one is on the way soon. Photos of Eminem and Rihanna on set surfaced last week, and over the weekend director Joseph Kahn announced that the clip would be premiering sometime in the coming week.

"And that's a wrap! Eminem/Rhianna premieres in a week!" the director tweeted on Saturday (July 24). (A few minutes later, he corrected himself on a crucial point: "Oops Rihanna," he added. "That's what I get for typing while feeding my white Siberian tiger. More caviar, slave!")

Little is currently known about the clip, although "Lost" actor Dominic Monaghan will appear alongside Em and Rihanna. The video was filmed in Los Angeles last week.

"Love the Way You Lie" will be the third video Kahn has directed for Eminem. He previously took the lead on the clips for "Without Me" and "We Made You." During Kahn's 20-year career, he has directed videos for the likes of Britney Spears ("Womanizer"), U2 ("Elevation") and Lady Gaga ("LoveGame")

Kahn sounds extremely satisfied with the final version of his latest project. "My director's edit of Love the Way You Lie is done," he tweeted on Sunday (July 25). "I love this video."

Poll After The Jump

Before it was released, Eminem's Recovery was touted as a great comeback vehicle after the so-so showing that was Relapse (which was supposed to be his other comeback vehicle). It appears as though everybody was right, as Recovery has been greeted by enthusiastic buyers (it has already sold over a million copies) and already has a chart-topping single ("Not Afraid"). In fact, it could be scoring its second #1 single very soon, as "Love the Way You Lie" — Slim Shady's collaboration with Rihanna — has rocketed up the Billboard Hot 100 and is looking to dislodge Katy Perry's "California Gurls" from its perch.

"Love the Way You Lie" is something of a departure for Eminem, as he doesn't typically follow the hip-hop trope of spitting some verses and then letting the female singer handle the hook in the chorus. But it's a brutally honest, heart-on-his-sleeve series of verses, and Rihanna's appearance is a sweet respite from the swirling angst surrounding her. It's quite possible that "Love the Way You Lie" is the best female collaboration in Eminem's career. How does it stack up to his other mixed tag-team partners?

Pink
Of course, it's possible that Eminem's team-up with Rihanna isn't even the best collaboration with a woman on that album. "Won't Back Down" puts Pink's tough girl aesthetic to excellent use, matching her up with a cranking guitar-infused beat full of piss and vinegar. "Won't Back Down" is so badass that former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell used it as his entrance music during his fight with Rich Franklin a few weeks back.

Dido
Eminem's signature team-up track (on the classic "Stan," from 2000's The Marshall Mathers LP) also uses his guest's vibe correctly, as Dido croons the song's haunting hook with an ethereal chill. Though Dido was not famous when "Stan" came out, she certainly elevated her profile after the track became a hit. (Her 1999 album No Angel — which contained "Thank You," the track from which the sample from "Stan" came — ended up going platinum four times.)

Dina Rae
Though not a star in her own right, Eminem has tapped singer Dina Rae for more collaborations than any other female artist. Rae has provided backing vocals and hook work on "Cum On Everybody" (from The Slim Shady LP), "Drug Ballad" (from The Marshall Mathers LP) and "Superman" (from The Eminem Show).

Hailie Jade
The other female voice heard pretty often on Eminem's albums? Daughter Hailie Jade, who actually got a "featuring" credit on The Eminem Show's "My Dad's Gone Crazy" (she half-sings the song's hook).

So who is the best female Eminem collaborator? Vote in the poll below and leave your arguments in the comments!
