The L.A. County D.A.'s Office is reviewing possible assault charges against Tory Lanez for his alleged involvement in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting ... TMZ has confirmed.
The D.A.'s mulling over a charge of felony assault with a firearm after Megan said she was shot back in July as she exited the SUV she was riding in with Tory. As you probably know by now ... he was arrested, but only charged with possession of a firearm. Now, it's possible he'll face the additional charge after prosecutors asked the LAPD to further investigate the incident.
TMZ broke the story ... law enforcement sources told us LAPD detectives opened an investigation into Tory in July after he allegedly shot Megan in the foot as she exited his chauffeur-driven SUV on the heels of an argument that erupted inside the ride.
As we reported, sources connected to Tory say there were mitigating circumstances -- & based on what we know ... IF he's charged for it, we believe Tory's going to say it was an accidental shooting.
However, charging him might have gotten a little more difficult because of what Megan said hours earlier on Tuesday.
She posted pics of her gruesome foot injury after the alleged shooting, but in her caption made the point of saying she had her back to the SUV when she was shot in the heel ... which would mean she didn't see who fired at her.
That's something she hadn't previously said, and it potentially complicates the D.A.'s ability to charge an alleged trigger person.
Lanez was previously arrested & booked for possession of a concealed weapon -- the handgun cops say they found in the vehicle -- & now he may be in the crosshairs criminally for the shooting itself.

SAN ANTONIO — A southside family woke up late Friday night to a man in their home, wearing tactical gear and holding a gun.
The victims said the man was their landlord trying to use force to evict them.
Jesse Servin said around midnight, his girlfriend and their three children were sound asleep when they heard a loud bang.
“At first I thought we were getting robbed,” said Servin.
Servin said he realized someone had broken down the door.
“That's when I heard a scream, and my bedroom door was also kicked in,” said Servin. “He forced himself in with the rifle and bulletproof vest, and an LED flashlight so I couldn't see who it was until I heard his voice.”
Servin said he recognized the voice as his landlord and owner of the home, Alberto Trevino.
Servin said his two-year-old child was sleeping in the same room as he was, so he grabbed her trying to protect her from the man holding a gun, standing in the doorway of his bedroom.
He said Trevino was trying to evict them from the house.
“He was screaming at us in Spanish. You know, ‘Get out. Get out,’” said Servin.
The father of three said he followed Trevino’s orders and walked out the front door.
“I was shaking, so I followed his demands and tried to keep my kids and my girlfriend away from the whole issue,” said Servin.
Police arrived a few minutes later and were able to deescalate the situation. Servin's girlfriend caught the moment on video when police arrived and officers confiscated Trevino's firearm.
Servin said since the pandemic began he’s hit hard times. He worked at his father’s restaurant, but when his father died a few months ago, they lost the business, and Servin was out of work.
San Antonio Police said Trevino was arrested and charged with Burglary and Intent Assault.
He has since bonded out, leaving Servin fearing for the safety of his children.
Servin said Trevino lives next door to the house.
“We just don't feel safe at all, like he's keeping an eye on us every minute,” said Servin. “I mean, he might end up just finishing what he started.”
The restaurant and bar industry has suffered this year, making it hard for Servin to find steady income.

An 11-year-old girl who was once featured in a video praying for an end to gun violence has died after being shot in Madison, Wisconsin.
Anisa Scott was riding in a car Tuesday morning when a shooter fired into the vehicle, striking her in the head. Police believe the driver of the car with Anisa in it was the intended target.
On Thursday, her family removed her from life support at 11:11 a.m., signifying the date the shooting occurred and her age.
In the wake of her death, an anti-gun violence video that she appeared in back in 2016 has received more than 30,000 views.
“I just want to go outside and play, like a 7-year-old is supposed to do. I don’t want to die,” Anisa said in the video. “They won't stop killing. They won't stop it. God, can you make it better?"
Rafael Ragland, a local filmmaker and father of Anisa’s 5-year-old half-sister Anija Ragland, said he filmed the video with then 7-year-old Anisa after she had just come back from a trip to Chicago with her mother and heard about all of the violence there.
“I’m so confused honestly because the same thing she was praying about, praying that it doesn’t happen to her, then it turns around and happens to her,” Ragland said. “It just devastates me.”
Two male suspects — one 16, the other 19 — have been arrested in Anisa's death, Madison police said Friday.
The 19-year-old, Perion Carreon, was arrested Wednesday, while the 16-year-old, Andre Brown, was arrested Friday. Both are from Madison and were arrested on suspicion of first-degree intentional homicide and attempted first-degree intentional homicide, both as a party to a crime.
If he’s charged with first-degree intentional homicide, Brown would be charged in adult court even though he is only 16. State law requires anyone 10 or older charged with first-degree intentional homicide to be charged as an adult.
During an initial appearance in Dane County Circuit Court Tuesday, a court commissioner set Carreon's bail at $2 million in connection to the homicide. Additional charges Carreon faces in three separate cases had their bail amounts set at the same appearance. Those total $135,000.
Minutes later, Brown's bail was set at $1.5 million during his initial appearance.

Stacey Dash and her husband both want their marriage off the books like it never happened ... and the mister's claiming he only said "I do" while in a spiritual trance.
Stacey's estranged lawyer hubby, Jeffrey Marty, filed new court docs in response to Stacey's divorce petition ... and he's asking a judge to annul the marriage, something Stacey herself doesn't appear to oppose.
Jeff claims he only took his vows after Stacey's pastor put some serious religious pressure on him. He says they got hitched on April 6, 2018 -- but that's only because 10 days prior, he claims her pastor "unexpectedly and suddenly proclaimed that it was God's will" they get hitched.
Anyway, Jeff says that his ability to consent to the marriage was hijacked by the use of "hypnotic prayer techniques." Jeff doesn't describe the techniques or how he was programmed to marry Stacey. He also says there was pressure from other clergies to tie the knot.
Now, for Stacey's part ... she and her attorneys don't fully admit to what Jeff claims here about the hypnotism and all ... they say he didn't show any unusual signs about his mental state at the time. But, she's not fighting him and she too is asking the judge to annul the marriage ASAP.
That might be best -- their marriage was pretty rocky, and that's putting it lightly.

All eyes were on LeBron James and his teammates before they took the court for their first playoff game of the season ... with the Los Angeles Lakers players sending a powerful message with his wardrobe:
"Make America Arrest The Cops Who Killed Breonna Taylor"
The demand comes in the form of a modified Donald Trump "MAGA" hat ... which POTUS made famous during his first campaign for presidency.
Of course, the Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers are tipped-off for their first-round match-up in the NBA Playoffs from the Disney World bubble ... and LeBron has vowed to use his platform to raise social justice awareness throughout the season.
As we previously reported, a number of NBA superstars spoke with Taylor's mother, Tamika Palmer, last month ... and many have used their platform to demand justice.
The hat is also clearly another jab from James at POTUS -- and it's not the first time. LeBron has not his disdain for the President ... he's previously referred to him as a "bum" and a "clown."
LBJ also chose to wear a shirt with the phrase "by any means" ... as well as a pair of Nike Air Force 1s designed by African artist Karabo Poppy.
Talk about making a statement.

LUMBERTON, N.C. — One of the men convicted of killing Michael Jordan's father will be released from prison as early as 2023.
The N.C. Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission announced on Tuesday it has granted parole to Larry M. Demery.
Demery, 44, was sentenced to life in prison in 1996 after pleading guilty to first-degree murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery in the fatal shooting of James Jordan, the father of NBA legend Michael Jordan.
He will be released on Aug. 6, 2023, WCET reports. Demery had been denied parole in two previous hearings, according to WSOC.
Jordan was shot and killed on July 23, 1993, at the age of 56 while sleeping in his car along a highway near Lumberton, North Carolina. Both Demery and Daniel Green were convicted in the murder. Both have accused one another of pulling the trigger in the years since the incident. Green maintains his innocence to this day.
Jordan's body was found 11 days later in a swampy area of McColl, South Carolina.
In North Carolina, crimes committed on or after Oct. 1, 1994, are not eligible for parole. Demery was sentenced under previous guidelines, so he is eligible for parole.

A Texas mother-of-two has been killed in Mexico.
23-year-old Lizbeth Flores was found dead in Matamoros on Tuesday morning, one day after she was reported missing from her Brownsville home.
Her body was covered in bruises, and all of her teeth were missing, leading investigators to believe she was tortured beforehand.
She died of blunt force trauma to the head, police said consistent with a large rock that was found nearby.
She had crossed the border via Veterans International Bridge on Sunday shortly after 5 PM to meet her boyfriend, telling her mother she would be back that night.
When she didn't return, her frantic mother called police — but because she had left the country, all they could do was file a missing person's report.
"It was 11, 12, 1, 2, and I kept calling her to find out where she was and why she hadn't gotten home, and I couldn't sleep all night because I was waiting up for her," her heartbroken mother María Rubio told KRGV.
She believes she fell victim to attempted extortion by a gang of kidnappers.
"She had signs of violence, she was brutally tortured, she was kidnapped, I don't know who did it... you don't do that to a young lady," she sobbed. "All she did was go from work to home."
"I'm asking for justice for what they did to my daughter - she did not deserve this."
Flores' body remains with a forensic examiner in Matamoros; the FBI are now investigating.
