Kelly Rowland rowed with cabin crew on a 'sh**ty' flight into Sydney, Australia yesterday (15.04.10).

The former Destiny’s Child singer reportedly flew into a rage as she got off her flight from Melbourne and criticised staff on the plane for being 'rude', 'unpleasant' and treating her and her entourage like children.

She said: "I found the flight attendants really sh**ty. I don't know why. You tell me.

"They were very rude to us. That's the first time you'll ever hear me say a curse word. They were just rude to us on the plane. They treated us like five-year-old kids."

According to reports, tension on the Qantas airlines journey started when a group of passengers – believed to be in Kelly’s entourage - started using their mobile telephones and sat in wrong seats.

Discussing what she thought had caused staff to be rude, Kelly answered: "I don't know. Every time I've flown Qantas it's always been fantastic. It was rather unpleasant."

Kelly and her team were joined on the plane by Akon, Eve and Sean Paul – who later headlined the Supafest concert with the 'When Love Takes Over’ hitmaker at the Acer Arena in Sydney.

A spokesperson for Qantas said: 'The safety and comfort of all of our customers is always our primary concern and it is important all passengers observe the requests and instructions of our crews. We will always support the reasonable actions of our crews to ensure the safe operations of our flights.'

Apart from the alleged altercation, Kelly was seemingly pleased with the evening and took to her twitter account to praise the city.

She tweeted: 'THANK YOU for GREAT NIGHT SYDNEY!!!!!! YA'LL WENT INNNN TONIGHT!

'I'm off to sleep!!!!! xoxo(sic)'

When it comes to VIBE’s hotly contested Greatest Hip Hop Producer Of All Time Tournament, Erykah Badu has one clear-cut favorite.

“His name is James Yancey and they call him J Dilla," says the singer, who is enjoying the success of her critically acclaimed album, New Amerykah, Part Two: Return of the Ankh. "What number do you have him ranked?”

When told that the late legendary Detroit producer was seeded at a top tier no. 6 in our Soul Sample bracket, Badu mused, “Boy, y’all crazy! Y’all better put J Dilla at number one. Everybody out now is influenced by him. I don’t give a damn what people or critics say. They might not want to say it… producers and artists will take certain things from Dilla, but they wont admit it because of ego. You go to Japan and ask them who J Dilla is. Go to Europe, go to Mexico. They will all tell you we know J Dilla.”

Dilla’s patchwork production style can be heard on Return of the Ankh. But Badu’s relationship with the groundbreaking beatsmith goes back. “I have one of his tracks on the new album called 'Love.'
But he also did 'Didn’t You Know?' and 'Kiss Me On My Neck' on Mama’s Gun. I did those songs with him in his basement in his mama’s house. This man is incredible. This man is a scientist. This man takes a sample and makes them into voices and other instruments. Dilla is what’s up.
"

She continues: "People like Dr. Dre, DJ Premier, and Organized Noize are impeccable. But if we are talking about producing and the skill of it, it’s J Dilla for me. He played the drums live. He didn’t hire an intern to do the beat [laughs]. I vote for J Dilla all day.”

Eminem's Relapse 2 name change to Recovery

News broke of all the different producers Eminem has on his new album, Relapse 2 Recovery. While known for his experimentation with the latest pharmaceuticals, hip-hop’s favorite White boy isn’t exactly heralded for trying out other beatmakers’ instrumentals besides Dr. Dre and, of course, his own (questionable) lab creations.

Well, fellow Eminem stans, now’s our chance. This is what we've been waiting for, right? Slim Shady over a Just Blaze beat! The thought alone conjures up awesomeness of dramatic proportions. Problem is when I tried to imagine Mr. Mathers rhyming about his crazy mom or killing his ex-wife over one of Blaze’s signature, soulful productions, it didn’t make any sense.

Recovery is set to hit stores on June 22, the same day as Diddy’s Last Train To Paris. Now it’s your turn. What Eminem collabo are you most excited for? Do you think he should have reached out to any other producers? Speak on it.........

T.I. has feen finalizing plans for the release of his latest round of music. The Grammy Award-winning MC announced Thursday (April 15) via his Web site that the title of his August 24 LP will be King Uncaged. And on Wednesday, Tip released a promo trailer for an upcoming mixtape he has with DJ Drama and DJ MLK, one in the Gangsta Grillz series called F--- a Mixtape.

While some were confused by the title, rest assured that all parties involved are not turning their backs on the mixtape circuit — after all, the project is a mixtape and both Drama and MLK have several mixtapes with various other artists on deck in the coming weeks. But Drama declined to elaborate on the meaning behind the title.

"Take it how you wanna take it," Drama, who describes the quality of King Uncaged as being so dope it's "ridiculous," said about any controversy the name has caused. "I'mma let Tip explain." However, Drama did say that he was one of the people championing Tip's return to the circuit.

"We been talking about it for a minute — a long time," Dram said. "It's been quite awhile since Tip has done a Gangsta Grillz. I guess The Leak was the last one. When Tip first got home, I had the conversation with him. 'You home, Gangsta Grillz as a brand is still as hot as it ever was, almost helping breathe back life into the mixtape game. I think it will be right to come back full circle to where you are, to where the brand is.' That's how the conversation started."

The tape is around 80 percent done and going through some tweaks. It's almost all original material thus far.

"I'm about to go in and see if I can get Tip to murder a couple of people's beats real quick," he continued. "I'm gonna get on his head about that, but for the most part, all original material."

Tip and his P$C family earned status as underground heroes with their In Da Streets series.

"Right up there with it," Drama said of how the new project compares to the classics. "Right up there with it. I think this is going to be exciting for the streets. It's a lot of sh-- that is '24s'-type Tip. Tip is like a f---ing superstar right now. He makes a lot of big records with a lot of worldly feels — but they gonna love this in Zone One."

Don’t say it. We already know what half of you are thinking: Hell naw, that muthafucka? Yep. Aubrey “Drake” Graham, 23. That muthafucka. As in, that new hip-hop artist from Toronto. As in, the one who owned 2009 thanks to a little mixtape known as So Far Gone, hip-hop’s first instant-classic tape from a virtually unknown artist since Young Jeezy’s Trap or Die. As in, the one who landed in the middle of a major-label bidding war so closely watched that his ultimate signing to Young Money/Cash Money/Universal Motown made news in a way not seen since the day 50 Cent signed to Shady/Aftermath/Interscope. As in, the one who had more than 60,000 downloads of his So Far Gone mixtape in its first day. As in, the one with Lil Wayne’s co-sign and Kanye West behind the lens of his first video, “Best I Ever Had.” As in, the one who had two songs off of So Far Gone land in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and sold 414,000 copies of the official re-release of his monstrous mixtape, yet still hasn’t dropped his debut album, but has already appeared alongside Wayne, Kanye and Eminem (on the same record!), handled a hook for Jay-Z, recorded with Alicia Keys, Timbaland, Jamie Foxx, Young Jeezy and a rack of other top-tier stars, received two Grammy nominations, starred in a Sprite commercial that debuted during this year’s pre-Super Bowl broadcast of all things, and been romantically linked to Rihanna. As in, the pretty boy who played the wheelchair-bound Jimmy in Canadian TV’s teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation, who purses his lips in photos and is prone to dressing like a character out of a romance novel. As in, the one the ladies love and the rap blogs love to hate. As in, the one with the R&B steeze who just dropped his lead single “Over,” a street record and instant fan pleaser. As in, the one who was passed over for XXL’s Freshmen Class of 2009 only to turn down being part of 2010’s. As in, that muthafucka—the one with the audacity to name his debut album Thank Me Later, as if his success were already a foregone conclusion.

What are your thoughts on this cover?

It’s great to me. I’ve never done XXL, so it’s exciting. And to be doing it with Nicki, man, that’s my dog. That’s more than my dog. That’s, like, we have the most interesting relationship, ’cause it’s so multilayered. That’s my co-worker, my peer, my family. But, at the same time, on any given day, she’s, like, the love of my life… Nicki’s a very intriguing character. To be doing it with her is great, man.

So since the success of your mixtape So Far Gone you’ve become rap’s golden child. Has it been hard getting your debut together, to live up to that hype?

Not hard. If you’re not struggling, then there’s something wrong. If it was effortless, then I’d be scared. If I was like, “Yeah, this is it, this is the one.” I’m still listening to it, and I’m like, “Man, I don’t know, it could be better.” But that’s just me. That’s just the artist in myself competing with myself. And now it’s so crazy, because, to be in the industry, a lot of people start playing you their music. You start hearing other people’s hits and sound, and you start thinking, Wow, okay, this is all the music that’s coming out this year. And you start thinking about yourself fitting into that, you know? Like, last year, other than Blueprint 3, it was a pretty dry year for hip-hop, as far as, like, the legends. But this year it’s way different. You know, you’ve got OutKast rumored to be coming out.

Do you know something we don’t?

I don’t. I just read what I read. Even from, like, [Santogold] is coming out again, MGMT. You’ve got Jeezy. You’ve got T.I. Carter IV’s gonna drop as soon as Wayne gets out. So it’s a great year for music. But when you’re in it, you also start thinking about, Well, I can’t get lost in that. And I make R&B, and hip-hop, so I’m not only thinking about the rappers—I’m thinking about the Dreams, the MGMTs, just great music on a whole. That’s the best part about it, because that’s what makes my music better and pushes me to keep working on it, as opposed to just being, like, “Okay, it’s done.” I wasn’t confident when I dropped So Far Gone, neither. I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life.
