COLUMBIA, S.C.(WBNS10) — A mother drowned 1 of her daughters in their South Carolina home & was trying to kill another child when the oldest daughter was awakened by screams & managed to save her sister.

Jamie Bradley Brun, 37, was charged with murder & attempted murder after the attack.

Brun has talked to investigators & Tanner called it a horrific crime but told reporters he wouldn't say why Brun wanted to kill her children.

Brun's 16-year-old daughter was asleep around 1:30 a.m. Friday when her 8-year-old sister's screams woke her up. 

The teen went into the bathroom & managed to wrest her sister away from her mother & run to a nearby family member's house to call 911.

Deputies arrived eight minutes later & found Brun & her 6-year-old daughter, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Brun tried to grab a deputy's gun as she was arrested & officers shocked her with a Taser to take her into custody.

Brun was being held without bond.

The 8-year-old did not appear to be seriously injured. She & her teen sister are being cared for by other family members.

Brun had no arrest record in South Carolina & authorities had been called to the house only once about 2 years ago after a school employee was concerned about the mental health of 1 of the children.

LAPD detectives made at least 1 arrest early Tuesday as they pursued at least 2 people wanted for the murder of the Philadelphia rapper known as PnB Rock, who was shot to death inside a restaurant in South LA after a struggle over his jewelry.

A bulletin released by police Wednesday identified the second person wanted in the killing as Freddie Lee Trone, who police described as, “being involved,” in the Sept. 13 murder of PnB Rock, born Rakim Allen.

The first person arrested was detained near Gardena Tuesday morning.

The LAPD statement identifying Trone made no mention of the arrest.

Trone, the sources said, was a longtime member of a South Los Angeles street gang. Efforts to arrest him Tuesday were unsuccessful.

The LAPD has said it was looking into whether an Instagram post – that showed Allen with his girlfriend at a Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles restaurant —might have steered the killer to the restaurant. The post appeared about 20 minutes before the attack.

NEW YORK (AP) — Sex toys & shoes? Try, sex toys IN shoes.

A little streetwear label has partnered with a giant in the adult toy industry to create a shoe derived in part from unused, defective amusements that come off the manufacturing line as misfits.

Looking a lot like Merrell’s popular Hydro Moc or Yeezy’s Foam Runners, Plastic Soul is about 15% sex toy. The rest is non-bleach EVA, a petroleum-based foam that’s difficult to recycle.

The shoe is the brainchild of David Teitelbaum, founder of Rose in Good Faith & Chad Braverman, chief operating officer for Doc Johnson, the adult toy company his father founded in 1976.

“Personally, I love shoes. So it was a cool product, a really interesting way to get Doc Johnson on board with something that I would never ever do,” Braverman said.

Teitelbaum is a collaboration king with elevated Ed Hardy, Lil Peep & Juice Wrld hoodies, T-shirts & other merch under his belt. Before the pandemic, he was looking for something new. He met with an adult film company, which put him on to Doc Johnson.

“Something like 28% of the sales are going to women,” Teitelbaum said. “We’re hitting an interesting narrative. I think there’s a deeper connection.”

The online feedback has been mixed, Teitelbaum said.

“A lot of it has been, ‘You look like Yeezy, go (expletive) yourself,’” he said. “But we also get so much love.”

UFC lightweight fighter Luis Pena has been arrested for the second time in five months.

Pena was taken into custody on Saturday in Deerfield Beach, Florida, on charges of battery causing bodily harm & battery domestic violence. He is being held on $1,000 bond at the Broward County Detention Center.

Deerfield Beach deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at about 12:34 a.m. Saturday.

"On scene, deputies made contact with multiple subjects & Luis Antonio Pena was later detained & taken into custody."

Pena, 28, was arrested in June on charges of robbery by sudden snatching, battery & criminal mischief after a fight with his girlfriend.

The robbery by sudden snatching charge has been dropped, but Pena is still facing charges of battery & criminal mischief in Florida's Palm Beach County. Both of those charges are misdemeanors & Pena has a court date scheduled for Oct. 28. He has pleaded not guilty to both charges.

On Aug. 30, Pena's girlfriend filed an affidavit in the June case requesting the charges be dismissed & that she does not desire the case be prosecuted any further.

The UFC has released fighter Luis Pena following two arrests related to domestic violence since June.

In a statement provided to ESPN through a spokesperson, the UFC said it is aware of the "disturbing allegations" regarding Pena's arrest Saturday on two charges of battery & thinks that Pena's personal & legal issues should be his focus before he competes again.

"At this time, UFC believes Mr. Pena needs to deal with the health & legal issues in front of him & consequently has informed Mr. Pena's management that his promotional agreement has been terminated," the statement read.

The statement added that Pena "has been open about his struggles with mental health & substance abuse issues" & the UFC has "on multiple occasions attempted to help him get professional treatment."

Pena, 28, was arrested Saturday on charges of battery causing bodily harm & battery domestic violence, both misdemeanors, according to a Broward County (Florida) Sheriff's Office spokesperson. He was released on $6,000 bond on Monday.

Pena also was arrested in June on domestic violence-related charges. Following that arrest, sources said the UFC went as far as to advance Pena a sum of money in the five figures to help him get treatment.

In his latest arrest over the weekend, Pena is being accused of striking his girlfriend in the face multiple times with a closed fist & continuing to hit her while she was on the ground. Pena also allegedly struck another woman who attempted to intervene in the left eye with a closed fist.

"This was a bad case," UFC president Dana White said Tuesday. "We knew that he had problems before that we were trying to help him with. And this is a pretty nasty one. I don't know if you guys read the police report, but yeah. This one had to happen."

Pena is 9-3 as a pro MMA fighter with a 5-3 UFC record.

2020 costume controversy be damned ... Deontay Wilder is still planning to wear a unique walkup 'fit for his trilogy fight with Tyson Fury, but TMZ Sports has learned it'll be "significantly lighter" this time around.

Wilder had -- at least partially -- blamed his extravagant pre-fight wardrobe for his last loss to Fury in Feb. 2020 ... saying the weight of his battery-powered laser attire affected his legs.

But, Wilder ain't quitting on the costume idea just because of that ... so say designers Cosmo and Donato, who tell us The Bronze Bomber already has a new, extravagant look ready to go for the fight this weekend.

C&D -- who created the 2020 piece and others for Wilder -- say they've designed a cool, yet "significantly lighter," outfit for the Oct. 9 tilt ... and promise there will be no issues whatsoever surrounding this one.

"It's going to be significantly lighter," Cosmo said, "So, we don't have any drama at all."

C&D tell us Deontay has already tried on the costume -- modeling it in their store two weeks ago -- and the fighter has made sure it'll have no effect on his ability to punch Fury on Saturday night.

"He looks so amazing," Cosmo tells us. "He was so happy ... The outfit fits perfectly and he's ready to slay!"

C&D wouldn't reveal the whole costume to us ... but they did say it took 3 weeks to make, and features a special red and black theme.

"It's red and black from the Nigerian tribe," Cosmo says. "The red means funeral -- it's going to be Tyson Fury's funeral the next fight."

Wack 100 says he has an unreleased sex tape belonging to Kim Kardashian and her ex, Ray J, that's never been seen before -- and he's weirdly offering it to ... Kanye West.

The couple announced the Grammy winner’s pregnancy in June at the BET Awards. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper showed her baby bump in a sheer jumpsuit during a joint performance.

The expectant star thanked her supporters via Instagram at the time with a maternity shoot photo, writing, “No. 2! We listened to each other, communicated, prayed and then God blessed us and our family with another little blessing. Our home feels so blissful and very busy, but we are ready and so happy.”

NEW YORK (AP) — A 24-year-old man was fatally shot by police in the Bronx early Sunday and his father was taken into custody in connection with the shooting.

The incident occurred at about 4:15 a.m. approximately a block away from the 46th Precinct station house. NYPD Chief of Patrol Juanita Holmes said two off-duty officers had finished their shift and were leaving the building when they saw the 24-year-old and his 45-year-old father in a dispute with a group of people.

The younger man shot at the group and then turned and fired at the officers, according to Holmes. They returned fire, striking him in the torso. The man’s 45-year-old father then picked up the gun and fired at police before he was subdued, Holmes said.

Neither man was identified. The son was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, and his father was being detained. It wasn’t immediately known what sparked the dispute between the two men and the group, or whether anyone in the group was injured.

Neither officer suffered injuries, Holmes said. The shooting remained under investigation.

KINGWOOD, Texas – A 19-year-old is on the lam after being charged with murder for the second time in less than a year.

Houston police have identified Emma Presler as the suspect in a murder investigation after she allegedly entered a home on the night of Aug. 6 in the 2000 block of Aspen Glade Drive in Kingwood and poured a flammable liquid on 33-year-old Devin Graham.

KSAT’s sister station KPRC reported that Presler lit Graham on fire and that 26-year-old Karissa Lindros, who was also in the home at the time, suffered severe burns. Both were taken to an area hospital via Life Flight where Graham succumbed to his injuries.

Presler was also charged with murder in Sept. 2020 when she was 18-years-old after police say she was the suspect in the death of 20-year-old Sierra Rhodd, according to Fox 26.

Rhodd was shot through her bedroom window, however, a judge later ruled that there was no probable cause to hold her on that charge due to lack of evidence, Fox 26 reported. Four other people have since been arrested in the case, including Presler’s boyfriend at the time.

A popular TikTok star died from his injuries days after a man opened fire inside a Southern California movie theater during a screening of "The Forever Purge."

Anthony Barajas, 19, was the second victim killed in Monday's shooting. Corona police previously identified the first victim as Rylee Goodrich, 18.

Authorities said Barajas & Goodrich were at the Regal Edwards Theatre in Corona. Workers cleaning up the theater after the movie ended discovered two people had been shot in the head.

Goodrich was pronounced dead & Barajas was taken to the hospital and placed on life support. Corona police said Barajas died early Saturday morning.

Joseph Jimenez, 20, was arrested in connection with the shooting. He was booked earlier this week on suspicion of murder, attempted murder & robbery but prosecutors on Friday filed a special circumstance murder charge.

Hestrin said the special circumstance charge makes Jimenez eligible for the death penalty if prosecutors choose to seek that punishment at trial.

A judge on Friday ordered Jimenez to be held without bail. His arraignment was delayed until Thursday at the request of the defense. Prosecutors said the shooting appears to be "random & unprovoked."

Barajas was known online as "itsanthonymichael" & has nearly a million followers on TikTok and more than 50,000 on Instagram.

A second man has been charged in the shooting death of 7-year-old Jaslyn Adams at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Homan Square earlier this month.

Demond Goudy, 21, of Homan Square, was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder and attempted murder in the April 18 attack, Chicago police said.

Goudy was taken into custody about 6:50 p.m. Monday after he left a home in the 1500 block of South Springfield Avenue, police said. A SWAT team assisted in his arrest.

Last week, a man suspected to also be involved in the shooting was shot by police while allegedly trying to carjack a family on the Eisenhower Expressway.

Prosecutors said Marion Lewis, 18, was the getaway driver but did not fire any of the shots that killed Jaslyn or wounded her father, 28-year-old Jontae Adams. Lewis was ordered held without bail last weekend.

Jaslyn and her father were in a silver Infiniti about 4:20 p.m. at a McDonald’s, 3200 W. Roosevelt Road, when two gunmen got out of an Audi and fired into the Infiniti, authorities said. One of the shooters was using a “Draco,” AK-47-style assault weapon with a “banana clip,” prosecutors said.

Police would not confirm whether Goudy was believed to be one of the shooters.

Goudy appeared in court Wednesday, where his bond hearing was continued to Friday at the request of his defense attorney.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Brandy Parker-McFadden sits in her Vanderbilt hospital bed, unable to stand.

“Our youngest is like – are you ever going to walk again? We just reassure him this is extremely rare.”

The mother of three received her second Pfizer COVID shot on April 16. Hours later, an unusual sensation started in her legs.

“Then it turned into a horrible neck pain, and it just kept getting worse and worse,” recounted Brandy.

Her husband James knew something was terribly wrong. “She was screaming in pain. She is one that is pretty stoic. That’s what created the sense of urgency.”

James rushed Brandy to the emergency room at Vanderbilt, and then the unimaginable happened.

“I woke up. I can’t move my arms. I can’t move my legs. So, he’s freaking out. The doctors are panicking,” Brandy recalled.

“I’m holding her hand, and her hand is limp throughout the whole thing while she’s screaming in pain,” remembers James, “And all the test results are coming back negative.”

Ten days later, Brandy is able to move her arms again and wiggle her toes. She will now undergo intensive physical therapy, hoping to walk again.

“I’m going to fight. I’m a fighter,” Brandy said with a determined look.

Brandy wants to be very clear; she isn’t saying don’t get your vaccine. She wants people to be aware of the signs and speak up if they don’t feel well.

“If you’re hesitant, I tell people to call your doctors because it is extremely rare.”

A second man has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Dallas rapper MO3 on Interstate 35E in Oak Cliff last fall.

A Dallas County grand jury handed up the indictment of Devin Maurice Brown, 28, on Wednesday.

Another man, 22-year-old Kewon Dontrell White, was indicted on a murder charge in February.

The 28-year-old rapper, whose legal name was Melvin Noble Jr., was driving north on I-35E Nov. 11 when he stopped between Illinois Avenue and Clarendon Drive.

When a man got out of another car & approached Noble’s vehicle with a rifle, Noble tried to run but was shot multiple times. A second person was wounded.

Dallas police called the daytime shooting “brazen,” considering how many passers-by could have been in the line of fire.

White was arrested in early December; an arrest-warrant affidavit said that a witness provided police with information about his involvement in the shooting.

At the time of his arrest, federal authorities said that he also faced a gun charge & that Brown — referred to as a “known affiliate” — faced gun & drug charges. Authorities did not publicly link Brown to Noble’s slaying at that time.

Brown was already in custody by the time White was arrested, having been apprehended Nov. 19 on federal charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon & conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute a controlled substance. Authorities reported finding a stolen AK-47 at his home, along with synthetic marijuana & methamphetamine. He pleaded guilty to those charges earlier this month.

He has several pending charges in Dallas County, including manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, money laundering & unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

White also has been indicted on a charge of aggravated assault in connection with the November shooting.

Both men remain in federal custody.

UFC stars Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier appeared to get into a war of words on social media over the weekend over the fallout from their latest fight.

Poirier reacted to McGregor’s prediction for their upcoming fight to end the rivalry. He accused McGregor of stiffing him on a donation to his charity after their fight in January. The two agreed that whoever won the fight would give some money to the other's charity of their choice.

"That's a fun prediction! @TheNotoriousMMA you also predicted a donation to my foundation and you and your team stopped responding after the fight in January. See you soon. July 10th Paid In Full!" Poirier tweeted.

McGregor then responded: "A donation, not a debt. We’ve been awaiting the plans for the money that never came. I do with all my donations. Know where it’s going dot for dot. Otherwise it goes walking. As is the case with a lot of these foundations, sadly. You took the McG over the belt shows I was right."

Poirier said the Irishman’s team didn’t respond to their emails.

"100% never a debt. You offered, we accepted, and like I said your Team never responded to our emails regarding the process of where funds would be put to work! July 10th you will taste defeat yet Again," he said.

McGregor fired back and got expletive.

"My team does their due diligence to make sure every donation meets the mark. My generosity is known. You will pay with your brain for this attempt at smearing my name. Shooting a*s shelling a*s b---h. Little b---h kicks from a shell. Good luck when you’re caught. You’re f—ked."

McGregor and Poirier were set to fight at UFC 264, but McGregor tweeted the fight was off over the money.

Poirier knocked out McGregor during their last bout.
