MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - She was awarded an honorary Pulitzer for filming the murder of George Floyd by then Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin, now Darnella Fraizer is mourning the death of her uncle, Leneal Frazier, killed Tuesday morning when a Minneapolis police squad car pursuing a vehicle believed to have been involved in multiple robberies struck the car he was driving.
In a Facebook post, Darnella wrote, "I honestly can’t believe I’m making this post right now...I’m so hurt...nothing feels real. I woke up to the most horrible news," going on to write, "MY uncle... Another Black man lost his life in the hands of the police! I asked my mom several times "he died??" I couldn’t accept what I was hearing and still can’t. Some things just take time to process."
Family says Leneal was heading to his girlfriend’s house when the MPD squad struck his car.
Early Tuesday morning, Minneapolis police officers were pursuing an armed robbery suspect in the area of North 41st Avenue and North Lyndale Avenue. While traveling northbound, the squad struck Leneal's car in the intersection. The squad then went into the southbound lane and struck another uninvolved car. Both the officer and Leneal were taken by ambulance to North Memorial.
Leneal died of his injuries. The officer was injured but is expected to survive.
"This is not fair, not right," Leneal’s daughter, Lanesha Frazier said. "I didn’t expect that to be my father. I’m really grieving because all these police out here, they’re not watching what they’re doing… they need to watch what they’re doing, innocent people out here being hurt."
The family has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs.

A monthlong mission in Ohio recently turned up 45 missing children and led to 179 arrests, authorities said.
In an operation dubbed Autumn Hope, the US Marshals Service in Ohio and Virginia tracked the children, including a “high-risk” 15-year-old girl from Cleveland who was linked to suspected human trafficking, authorities said Monday.
Twenty other children were also located as authorities checked on their well-being.
During one of the missing children recoveries, a loaded gun was recovered. A 15-year-old boy had two warrants and is suspected in multiple shootings and a murder, authorities said.
Two other juveniles were found in West Virginia during a traffic stop, leading to the arrest of an adult male who was charged with concealment/removal of a minor child in Jackson County.
Autumn Hope was conducted by the marshals in conjunction with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force, as well as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and state and local agencies in Ohio.
“My thanks to all personnel who have stepped up for this operation,” said Peter C. Tobin, US Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio. “These are the same personnel who hunt down violent fugitives every day. I’m incredibly proud of them and pleased that they were able to apply those same skills to finding missing children. I know Operation Autumn Hope has made a difference in a lot of young lives.”
The US Marshals have conducted similar operations before, including in Ohio.
Last month, they said 35 missing children, between the ages of 13 and 18 from the Cuyahoga County area, were located during Operation Safety Net. Just over 20 percent of the found cases were tied to human trafficking.
That same month, the marshals also announced the arrest of 262 suspects, including 141 gang members, and the recovery of five missing children in Oklahoma.
Thirty-nine children were found in Georgia during Operation Not Forgotten in August and eight missing kids were recovered in Indiana in September as part of Operation Homecoming.
The marshals have found missing children in 75 percent of cases the agency has received — and 72 percent of those cases were recovered within a week, officials said.
Since 2005, the agency has recovered more than 2,000 missing kids.

In the upcoming December/January issue of Vibe, rapper T.I. had a few things he wanted to address. One of them being his September 2010 arrest in Los Angeles for possession of ecstacy which violated his probation and led to an 11-month stint in an Arkansas federal prison.
Tip's wife, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, was also arrested during the traffic stop, but charges against her were eventually dropped.
When news first broke of the couple's arrest, G-Unit boss 50 Cent jokingly suggested on Twitter that Tiny should take the charge given T.I.'s legal situation.
"Tiny gotta take that charge," 50 wrote. "Say it was yours baby."
Tip responds to 50's remarks during his interview with Vibe.
Vibe: T.I. on people criticizing Tiny for not taking the drug charge
“I’ma tell you, 50 Cent and anybody else, we not gonn’a have no discussion about what my ole lady should’a, would’a, couda done for anything as it pertains to me,” begins his rant. “We ain’t gonn’a do that. I’m the only one in my family that’s gonna take a lick when it pertains to the legal system. Since me, none of my other family members have seen a jail cell. Nobody. I’m the last one. The buck stops here. I feel that a person that stands behind [his woman for a criminal charge] is a coward anyway.”
I doubt she would have gotten any time.
T.I.: She wasn’t gonna catch it period, ’cause I’m there. That wasn’t even a consideration. Even if she asked me to I would’ve been like, “Nah, you trippin’.“
So you didn’t feel you were more valuable to your family, employees and business partners on the street?
That’s a discussion between me and another man. Not with the mother of my children. Not with the nurturer of my household.

Antoine Walker Facing Bad Check Charges from ChasinDatPaper on Vimeo.
KVBC Reports He partied and gambled heavily in Las Vegas. And now, another sports figure finds himself in legal "foul trouble." Tuesday afternoon, a Las Vegas judge issued an arrest warrant for ex-NBA star Antoine Walker. He's facing felony bad check charges for allegedly not paying back some enormous casino debts. News 3's Steve Crupi is digging deeper into the details of this case and reports that three big casinos are involved. According to the criminal complaint, Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, and the Red Rock Station gave former NBA star Antoine Walker huge amounts of gambling money. He allegedly received $1 million in all, most of which he has not re-paid. Walker played last year for the Minnesota Timberwolves. And before that, he was a three-time all-star with the Celtics. And he is again racking up big numbers, but not on the scoreboard. The criminal complaint against Walker says he received ten separate casino loans for $100,000. He has failed to pay back more than $800,000-worth of that money, lost gambling last year at Caesars, Planet Hollywood, and the Red Rock. Walker is not the first sports figure to run up massive unpaid debts. Last year, it was former NBA star Charles Barkley who was late with his payments. He spoke about his love of blackjack back in 2007. "I like to gamble. I'm going to gamble. I like to gamble, it's my money." But it's not always a gambler's money: Casinos routinely "loan" players vast sums, having them sign markers that are treated like checks under Nevada law. The Clark County District Attorney's Office sees a lot of bad check cases involving casinos. "On a daily basis, we see large amounts of money that people don't repay," confirms prosecutor Bernie Zadrowski. The arrest warrant for Antoine Walker comes at a time when the NBA's attention is already on Las Vegas, with its summer league in its fifth day. The event features young players, however, most of whom aren't making big money yet. But one question people always ask is aren't the casinos just as much at fault in these cases? They hand over such big sums of money to people who may not be making the best decisions. But this is something the casinos don't like discussing. A court date of July 20 has been set for Antoine Walker; no word yet on whether he's made any arrangements to turn himself in.
