MC Serch and Pete Nice, better known as 3rd Bass, were big in the rap scene in the early 80's and 90's. Search also produced Nas' Illmatic album.

Serch, Nice and DJ Richie Rich stopped by Sway in the Morning recently to chop it up about how they came up with their name, "Yeezus," their favorite emcee, not receiving a royalty check from The Cactus Album because of all of the samples, their break up,now wanting fans to know they were white in the beginning, "Steppin' to the AM" originally being written for Rakim and more.

Begin the countdown for Cain Velasquez-Junior dos Santos III.

Both heavyweights prevailed with knockouts at UFC 160 — Velasquez over Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in the main event, and dos Santos over Mark Hunt in the co-main —inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night.

White called the rematch “a no-brainer” and added he’d expect to happen before December.

“That makes sense, definitely,” Velasquez said.

Added dos Santos: “My next fight will be for the title and that’s what I want. I believe so much I can stay on top of the division for a long time.”

Velasquez — who reclaimed the title with a decision over dos Santos in December — needed all of 81 seconds to defend the belt for the first time in his career.

He set up a devastating, overhand right with a quick left jab. Silva crumpled and the referee stepped in to stop the bout shortly thereafter.

Silva --- who lost by a first-round TKO to Velasquez on the same holiday weekend last year --- felt referee Mario Yamasaki erred in two ways late in the short fight. First, he didn’t penalize Velasquez for what he said were multiple illegal blows to the back of the neck. Second, Yamasaki halted the fight too fast.

12350117462?profile=original

“The same thing that applies to athletes who do something wrong or illegal should also apply to referees,” Silva said through an interpreter. “They, too, should be penalized.”

Velasquez said he connected with Silva’s ear, so his punches were legal.

Dos Santos held up his end of the deal with a third-round KO of Hunt in a crowd-pleasing slugfest in the co-main event. The bout earned each a $50,000 the Fight of the Night bonus.

Most of the dos Santos-Hunt match was fought toe-to-toe and in a brief stretch went to the ground. Boos rattled around the arena.

“When the fans were booing I (wasn't) thinking (to) take it easy,” dos Santos said.

Dos Santos knocked down Hunt with an overhand right in the first round similar to what allowed him to claim the heavyweight belt the first time he fought Velasquez. But unlike in the Velasquez bout, Hunt bounced right back up.

12350118057?profile=original

“If there’s ever a trilogy, that’s it right there,” UFC president Dana White said. “If you look at the way both fights went: Junior destroys (Velasquez) in the first fight, Cain destroys him in the second fight. I can’t wait to see the third fight.”

Hunt had dos Santos in a bit of trouble in the second round against the cage after a left hook, but dos Santos persevered and entered the third round in the lead. Dos Santos didn’t coast as he leveled an overhand left to the face of Hunt, whose nose had already been bloodied by constant jabs.

Dos Santos finished Hunt with 42 seconds left in the third round with a spinning kick.

“I had never had the confidence to try a spinning kick like that before in a fight,” dos Santos said. “When I did it and it worked, it was amazing!"

12350118264?profile=original

Hunt was transported to an area hospital. White said he didn’t have an update on Hunt’s condition.

TJ Grant used one straight, right punch against Gray Maynard to vault him into a title shot against lightweight champ Benson Henderson. (White said the fight would happen afterward.) Grant stumbled Maynard with the first-round strike. Grant pounced and landed several more punches before the fight was stopped.

12350118866?profile=original

“This is like a dream come true, but the dream isn’t over yet,” said Grant, who earned the KO of the Night bonus. “There is still work to do. I knew if I left it all out there, the fans would love it. I wasn’t necessarily looking for the knockout. I was just looking to connect to the face."

White said last month that the winner of the bout would become the No. 1 contender.

There’s no guaranteed title shot for light heavyweight Glover Teixeira, but he remained unstoppable. He used a guillotine choke to submit James Te Huna in the first round as Teixeira ran his winning streak to 19 fights.

12350119095?profile=original

But it seemed that Teixeira --- who earned the Submission of the Night bonus --- was more excited about meeting boxing legend Mike Tyson, who was seated cageside.

12350119474?profile=original

“I saw him today and yesterday (at the weigh-in),” a beaming Teixeira said in the post-fight broadcast interview. “I watched all of his highlights before I came (out) here.”

Donald Cerrone dominated K.J. Noons — who was making his UFC debut — en route to a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26). One judge gave Cerrone a 10-8 advantage in the third round.

“I was kind of in a scramble mode at first and strayed away from my game plan,” Cerrone said. “(Coach) Greg (Jackson) got me back on track after that first round. I just hope I gave a good performance for the fans. That kid is tough.”

12350119868?profile=original

The final two fights on the undercard broadcast on FX were decided by close — if not controversial — decisions.

Dennis Bermudez, a 3-1 favorite in his featherweight fight against Max Holloway, won by split decision 29-28, 28-29, 29-28. Holloway pushed the action for much of the fight and was the more accurate striker, according to FightMetric.com.

“I feel sometimes I get lucky,” Bermudez said. “I don’t know why I have to take a punch sometimes to come alive in a fight. I’ve trained hard and my striking coach wants me to drop the guys I’m working with and not just let them up. I think that attitude came through in this fight.”
Mike Pyle won by the same score in his welterweight bout against Rick Story.

Pyle appeared to be all but done as the clock ticked down in the first round. Story landed a left cross square to the chin of Pyle, who fell to the mat and managed to wait out the clock.

Pyle began his rally in the second round, using his elbows and fists to soften a tiring Story. Pyle also was solid on the ground, where a good portion of the rest of the match was fought.

“I should have never let it go to judges,” Pyle said. “I'm not happy with my performance. I got hit too much in the first round, but I feel I did get more technically sound as the fight went on. Can’t wait to get back out there.”

Also on the undercard, Khabib Nurmagomedov — who was fined 20 percent of his purse for missing weight on Friday — landed a record 21 takedowns in a unanimous victory (30-27 on all cards) over Abel Trujillo. Sean Sherk (16 in a five-found fight) previously had the overall record, while Luigi Fioravanti (13) had the three-round mark.

Ultimate Fighter Season 16 winner Colton Smith fell in his first fight since the TUF Finale as TUF Smashes winner Robert Whittaker earned a third-round TKO.

In the opening fight of the night, Jeremy Stephens brutalized Estevan Payan in ways that can only be explained by checking out the fight gallery.

Bonuses of $50,000 each went to Junior dos Santos and Mark Hunt for Fight of the Night, Glover Teixeira for submission of the Night and T.J. Grant for Knockout of the Night. UFC president Dana White was going to award Knockout of the Night to dos Santos, but boxing legend Mike Tyson intervened and White decided not to argue.

At the post-fight press conference, White also announced the retirement of UFC stalwart Forrest Griffin. Griffin will stay with the UFC in a yet-to-be-determined capacity.

Cain Velasquez def. Antonio Silva

After getting his first two takedown attempts stuffed, Velasquez sent "Bigfoot" to the canvas with a massive right. The heavyweight champion jumped all over the Brazilian, firing off heavy punches from back side mount until referee Mario Yamasaki stepped in to save Silva 81 seconds into the fight.

Junior dos Santos def. Mark Hunt

JDS looked awesome at UFC 160, surprisingly electing to spend the majority of their bout trading blows with Hunt. He hurt the "Super Samoan" with an overhand right early in the first round, and he came close to ending the fight again in the second round when he decided to take Hunt down and work in some ground-n-pound.

Even though he had two rounds in the bag going into the third round, dos Santos continued to push the pace, finally putting Hunt away with a spinning back kick with only 42 seconds left in the fight.

With his victory against Hunt, Junior is now the number one contender in the UFC's heavyweight division.

Glover Teixeira def. James Te Huna

Teixeira made quick work out of Te Huna at UFC 160, softening the Australian up with strikes before putting him on his back. He locked in a guillotine choke as James tried to work his way back up, forcing the tap at 2:38 of round one.

T.J. Grant def. Gray Maynard

Maynard went headhunting early in their UFC 160 encounter and Grant made him pay for his reckless aggression. T.J. sent Maynard to the canvas with a straight right, and he followed up with a barrage of punches and knees until referee Chris Tognoni called an end to the contest at the 2:07 mark of the first round.

With the win, T.J is now the number one contender in the UFC's lightweight division.

Donald Cerrone def. K.J. Noons

As expected, Cerrone and K.J. came out swinging at UFC 160, with both men landing their share of decent strikes. However, Cerrone was able to connect a bit more as the fight progressed and he mixed in a few takedowns as well. "Cowboy" kept Noons on his back for the majority of the final round, turning the Strikeforce import's face into a bloody mess.

The Octagon-side judges scored the fight 30-27, 30-26, and 30-27, all in favor of Cerrone.

Undercard:

Mike Pyle def. Rick Story (split decision)

Dennis Bermudez def. Max Holloway (split decision)

Robert Whittaker def. Colton Smith (TKO, round three)

Khabib Nurmagomedov def. Abel Trujillo (unanimous decision)

Stephen Thompson def. Nah-Shon Burrell (unanimous decision)

George Roop def. Brian Bowles (TKO, round two)

Jeremy Stephens def. Estevan Payan (unanimous decision)

Lil Wayne fans will have to wait a while longer to get their hands on the 4th installment of his Dedication mixtape series.

The tape was scheduled to drop today, but has been pushed back. Some websites are reporting it will be released on September 3rd. The website Dedication4.com has a message that says it's coming soon. It's the second time the tape has been pushed back. It was originally scheduled to come out on August 15th, but was moved to the 30th by Wayne to allow his friend 2 Chainz new album room to breathe.

At this point who knows when it will actually drop.

You would think that Lil Wayne being in jail would give him a break from drama in the outside world, but that's not the case. Boombox is reporting that Weezy is about to be served a summons to appear in federal court for failure to pay Atlanta producer Mali Boy. Mali claims he has not received payment for the song "Mrs Officer" that appeared on the multi platinum selling 'Tha Carter III' album. This lawsuit comes on the heels of Bangladesh's claim that he hasn't been paid for "A Milli". And even more recently "Lollipop" producer Jim Jonsin told AllHipHop he hasn't seen a dime for his work either. "We’re still trying to get paid. Clearly, I don’t understand what the issue is. They sold the record, they’ve collected the checks, they’ve even gotten huge advances, they’re buying Bugattis, and spending all kinds of money. But the producers and people that created the songs are not getting paid. And so we’re going through some things now in hopes that it gets fixed. That thing was like the most downloaded song in history, so pay the people who made it. It’s not your record, it’s our record," Jonsin said. Clearly Cash Money is making a lot of money, so none of this makes sense. I've never heard of a label not paying this many different producers for their work. Bangladesh has said recently he is going to put in some work on 'Pink Friday', Nicki Minaj's debut album, but make no mistake he's still trying collect what is owed to him. "Everything is being worked out through the legal process," he told BoomBox. "It's really out of his control honestly. I mean he don't run the label, he don't own the label -- he's just on the label." Lil Wayne will be a free man November 5. twitter-5d.gif

Video After The Jump Randy Moss' improbable return to Minnesota is about to become reality. The Vikings and the Patriots have agreed to a blockbuster trade that will send the Pro Bowl wide receiver back to Minnesota for the Vikings' 2011 third-round pick on Wednesday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. When the trade is completed, the Patriots will have two picks in each of the first four rounds of the 2011 draft -- their own picks and a first-round pick from Oakland, a second-round pick from Carolina, the third-round pick from Minnesota and a fourth-rounder from Denver. A source close to Moss told ESPN NFL senior analyst Chris Mortensen that Patriots coach Bill Belichick informed Moss of the trade on Wednesday morning by telephone. The source said the conversation was cordial, with both men expressing appreciation for the time they spent together. Moss will report to the Vikings on Wednesday and is said to be "excited" about returning to his original team with Brett Favre at quarterback, the source said. No contract extension talks have been conducted, but it is expected the two sides will have a discussion later in the day, the source said. FoxSports.com earlier reported the trade talks. The seven-time Pro Bowl receiver is in the final year of his four-year contract with New England and has voiced his displeasure with being in limbo. "When you have done so much and put so much work in, it kind of feels like I am not wanted," Moss said before the season began on Sept. 6. "I am taking that in stride and playing my final year out and whatever the future holds is what it holds, but it is kind of a bad feeling -- feeling not wanted. It is not like my production has gone down." A few days later he apologized for the timing of his comments and said he loves playing in New England. But the Boston Herald, citing an unnamed source, reported on Tuesday that Moss wanted out of New England after a Week 1 win on Sept. 12, telling his agent to ask the Patriots to trade him. Although the Patriots crushed the Dolphins on Monday night, Moss did not have a catch -- the first time that's happened for him in a New England uniform. Moss and Belichick did not speak or even see each other on Tuesday, a league source told Schefter. Source: ESPN twitter-5d.gif

Video After The Jump ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver Broncos wide receiver Kenny McKinley was found dead in his home Monday in an apparent suicide. Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said authorities were called to McKinley's home in Centennial at 3:35 p.m. local time and found his body in the second-floor master bedroom. He said detectives believe McKinley, 23, was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Robinson said authorities were called by a female friend of McKinley's who discovered the body after returning from an errand with his child. The sheriff declined to say if authorities found a suicide note. "It's still part of our investigation and probably nothing we'll talk about right now," he said. McKinley's death is the latest in a series of tragedies for the Broncos in recent years. Cornerback Darrent Williams was slain in a drive-by shooting on New Year's Day 2007 and three months later backup running back Damien Nash collapsed and died after a charity basketball game in St. Louis. "Everyone with the Broncos is shocked and saddened by the loss of Kenny McKinley," team owner Pat Bowlen said in a statement. "He was part of the Broncos' family and will be greatly missed by our organization. My most heartfelt condolences go out to Kenny's family and friends." The Broncos said coach Josh McDaniels would meet with the media on Tuesday. In a statement, McDaniels said: "Kenny had a promising future on the football field, but more importantly, he was a great teammate whose smile and personality could light up the room. This is a tragic loss for our football team, and his family is in all of our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time." McKinley was a second-year pro who was on the team's injured reserve list. He played in eight games as a rookie in 2009 with seven kick returns for 158 yards before going on IR with a left knee injury on Dec. 29. He recovered and participated in the team's offseason workouts but got hurt again during the first week of training camp and was placed on IR with a different left knee injury on Aug. 5. McKinley's agent Andrew Bondarowicz told ESPN.com's Bill Williamson that he spoke with the wideout last week but that there were no obvious signs of despair. "Kenny was a pretty easy-going guy," Bondarowicz said. "I do know that being on the injured reserve was hard on him and it weighed on him ... but there was nothing to suggest anything like this. It's a shock that caught us by surprise." McKinley was a fifth-round draft choice out of South Carolina in 2009. He attended South Cobb High School in Austell, Ga. McKinley remains South Carolina's all-time leading receiver with 207 catches for 2,781 yards. He came back to the school earlier this month, watched the Gamecocks beat Georgia 17-6 and visited with his college coach, Steve Spurrier. "Had a wonderful smile just like he always did," Spurrier said. The news of McKinley's death spread quickly at the end of South Carolina's practice Monday. Players who normally sprint off the field upbeat walked slowly with their heads down. "Kenny was certainly one of my all-time favorite players. It's hard to figure out why it happened like this," Spurrier said. Several Broncos players were attending a fundraiser Monday night in honor of Williams. Cornerback Champ Bailey and former NFL star John Lynch headlined the wine-tasting VIP event to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver, home of the Darrent Williams Memorial Teen Center. Bailey told The Associated Press last week that it was an opportunity for fans and friends to celebrate the life of the player they called D-Will, especially after so much attention was focused on the trial earlier this year in which Willie Clark, 26, was convicted of first-degree murder of Williams after a confrontation at a nightclub. Clark was sentenced in April to life in prison plus 1,152 years. "It's time to remember the way D-Will lived and not the way he died," Bailey said last week. The Broncos, who beat Seattle 31-14 on Sunday, hustled out of their Dove Valley practice facilities Monday night, many of them headed to the charity event unaware of the latest tragedy to befall the franchise. Players leaving the event said they didn't want to comment on McKinley's death. At McKinley's home in a subdivision in the southern Denver suburbs, a bouquet of flowers wrapped in purple was propped against the door Monday night. Source: ESPN twitter-5d.gif

No doubt we need police to protect us and most do their jobs correctly. But there are a few rouge thugs with badges that use their authority to abuse the people they are paid to help.

Case in point, third grade teacher, 57 year old Janice Wells called Richland, Georgia police to report a prowler outside of her home. What should have been a routine check for a criminal by police ended up being a brutal case of police brutality.

Officer Tim Murphy became enraged because Ms. Wells would not give him the name of a person inside her house.

Ms Wells had called longtime friend John Robinson to come and wait with her until police arrived. Officer Murphy asked him how long he'd known Ms Wells, the status of their relationship and where he lived. He never asked Robinson his name.

He then allowed Robinson to leave and asked Wells his name which she refused to give him. After that she was pepper sprayed and told she would be arrested.

Murphy called for backup. When Officer Ryan Smith arrived he Tasered Wells at least 12 times.

Ms Well told the Atlanta Journal Constitution, "All of it's just unreal to me. I was scared to death. "He kept tasing me and tasing me. My fingernails are still burned. My leg, back and my butt had a long scar on it for days."

A third officer who has known Ms Wells for years responded to the call and got there just as the last Taser was being fired. He thinks there was a racial component to the incident.

“I don’t think they would have done a white female like that,” said Sheriff Larry Jones, who is black. “If they had, it wouldn’t have been any doubt about whether they need to be terminated."

Ms Wells is heard on the tape crying and begging, "Please don't do that, sir I aint do nothing, I teach school"

Smith replies by repeatedly telling her to "Get in the car! You gonna get it again" At one point the idiot shocks himself "Sh*t it's getting me" he says. He then asks Officer Murphy if he had mased her yet. "Yeah, she took a load of it," Murphy replies.

Ms Wells is contemplating filing a lawsuit.

Meanwhile, Officer Murphy has been fired and Smith quit eight days after the incident. However Smith isn't at all sorry for his actions. "I did what I had to do to take control of the situation."

Lumpkin Police Chief Steven Ogle was shocked when he saw the tape

"I couldn’t believe it,” Ogle said. “You don’t use it [a Taser] for punitive reasons, to prod someone. It was evident it was an improper use of force. He was an excellent officer other than that incident."

Sheriff Jones said it was hard to keep his composure as Ms Wells begged him for help when he arrived. “Larry, help me,” Wells said as the sheriff walked up. “Larry, I didn’t do nothing, you know I don't get in trouble, Larry you know I don't."

Later that night, Jones bonded Wells out of jail and drove her to an area hospital to be examined

Officer Smith is already back at work for another police department

So nice, they're doing it thrice!

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon will be tying the knot for the third time on April 30, which is their two-year wedding anniversary. Expect a similar blowout in 2011, 2012 ... and beyond, as long as they're together.

"We get married every year! That's our thing," Cannon explained to UsMagazine.com at Monday's PepsiCo Feed America Volunteer Day event in NYC.

"So it's going to be our third wedding this year. That's what we'll be doing on the actual [anniversary]...We'll do something...A party or event, just to celebrate."

The Grammy-winning singer is definitely getting more bling from her spouse. Cannon confirmed to Us that he'll be getting his wife another diamond ring for the occasion. "That’s totally right," he said. "This is the third ring I have to buy...It’ll be something different. Something good."

Carey's engagement ring from Jacob & Co. Jewelers reportedly cost $2.5 million.

After dating for just six weeks in early 2008, Cannon, 29 and Carey, 40, wed on the singer's private island in The Bahamas in a surprise bash.

"It's nice," Cannon gushed. "We like being married every year."

Allison Musacchio (left), Cindy Mauro (center) and Alini Brito have been pulled from classrooms and sent to 'rubber rooms' while their cases are investigated. NY Daily News Reports There are more sexy shenanigans at Brooklyn's Horndog High. The day after the Daily News reported that two James Madison High School language teachers were busted "undressed" in an empty classroom, sources said a third educator is being investigated for getting too personal with a student. Social studies instructor Allison Musacchio is under investigation for having an inappropriate relationship with a male student, sources said. It is the second scandal in as many days to rock the Midwood school where New York Sen. Chuck Schumer and Major League ballplayer Frank Torre once walked the halls. School sources said they learned of Musacchio's alleged antics in March, after a female James Madison student saw her ex-boyfriend's phone number on the tenured teacher's cell phone. Officials found more than 200 texts and calls between the teacher and the male pupil and yanked her from the classroom, sources said. They said the amount of contact was inappropriate. Musacchio, 31, was also investigated for having a fling with a former student but the probe was dropped because the teen was of legal age and no longer at the school, school sources said. Attempts to reach Musacchio at her home were unsuccessful Wednesday, but she has told a neighbor the allegations were untrue. "She said, 'Absolutely not,'" the neighbor said. "She said, 'Are you crazy? With my Greek background, I would never do something like that. I have morals and respect.'" A man who identified himself as Musacchio's boyfriend said he was unaware of the allegations. "I try to stay out of her business. I just know she's a teacher here in Brooklyn," he said. "She's a good person, this is a total shock to me. "She keeps herself to herself." Parents, teachers and pupils were reeling Wednesday after The News revealed that a janitor allegedly caught French teacher Cindy Mauro, 33, and Spanish instructor Alini Brito, 29, disrobed in a classroom while students were attending an annual singing and dancing competition on Nov. 20.

Cindy Mauro In a bizarre meeting of scandals, Musacchio is a member of a Facebook group set up by students wanting to talk about the language teachers' purported romance. Lawyers for the pair said they "categorically deny the salacious allegations." "They are both exemplary teachers whose reputations and careers are being irreparably harmed by unfounded rumors and innuendo," a statement said. "They intend to vigorously address these allegations in the proper forum." Musacchio, Mauro and Brito have been pulled from classrooms and sent to "rubber rooms" while their cases are investigated. Education officials could not say if they were in the same location. "The school heard about allegations about employee misconduct, reassigned the teacher and referred the matter to the [Special Commissioner of Investigation]," education department spokeswoman Margie Feinberg said of Musacchio.
