In this clip, Nick Cannon reflects on how he embraced his culture at a young age, learning that black is beautiful in spite of all the oppression and injustice that they faced. He declared that black people historically "were the only people in humanity that had to fight to be human," referencing slavery as well as the three-fifths clause in the United States Constitution. Cannon goes on to delineate on how a person's racism can be disguised as cultural pride, while still believing firmly in the importance of having pride in one's culture.

Story Via TMZ - R. Kelly allegedly kept a mother from seeing her daughter for years -- and the mother went on a hunt to track her down -- and it all happens on video for Friday's episode of Lifetime's "Surviving R. Kelly."
In the clip you see Michelle Kramer getting emotional as she tries to locate her daughter, Dominique Gardner ... tracking her down at a hotel and trying to bring her home.
The mother blames Kelly for keeping her family apart, saying any man who keeps a child from its parents doesn't have a heart. Dominique was with Kelly for 9 years, lived with him for more than 4, and eventually went missing from her family.
Kelly's legal team has adamantly denied the reports and information within the doc ... firing off a cease and desist letter to Lifetime, threatening a lawsuit if the documentary aired. However, Lifetime remained defiant ... airing it anyways.
In the clip ... Michelle finally tracks down Dominique at a hotel in Los Angeles ... and the Lifetime cameras were rolling when the family reunited.
The next installments of the 6-part doc will air tonight, starting at 9 PM ET/PT.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Thursday that two Minneapolis officers will not be charged in the shooting death of a 36-year-old man Nov. 9. Officers Ryan Keyes and Neal Walsh fired eight shots at Travis Jordan, who was moving toward the officers with a 13.5-inch knife. Freeman's office said he refused repeated orders to drop the weapon. The shots fired were prompted by a “super aggressive step” Jordan took toward the officers during the incident. The body camera footage was released Thursday as well. It shows Officer Keyes' and Officer Walsh's angles of the incident. The BCA’s investigation into the incident showed Jordan’s girlfriend told dispatchers that Jordan was threatening suicide at his home on Morgan Avenue North. She had spoken to Jordan on the phone a few minutes earlier and he said he wanted to die. The two officers were sent to the house and knocked on the door, receiving no response. One of the officers went to talk to a neighbor while the other walked around to the back of the house and spotted Jordan in the kitchen. He knocked on the door and told Jordan to go to the front door, which he did not. Jordan was seen on the phone during his time in the house. The investigation showed Jordan said some expletives to the officers.
When in front of the home again, officers heard Jordan yelling, including when he said, “Let’s do this.” It was after this that he walked outside, continuing to say, “Let’s do this.” Both officers told him to drop the knife he had in his hand and to stay inside. He ignored commands and continued forward saying, “I don’t want to do this.” Jordan reached the street curb and took a “super aggressive step” toward the officer and they both fired their weapons. Officers handcuffed him and provided first aid. Jordan was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where he died. The BCA’s investigation showed the officers and Jordan were separated by only 12 feet when the shot was fired. “The evidence shows that at the time he was shot, Mr. Jordan was wielding a large knife, refused numerous commands to drop the knife, refused commands not to come out of the house or approach the officers and, instead, presented the officers with a deadly threat,” according to a new release. Freeman said Officers Walsh and Keyes’ use of deadly force was "objectively reasonable in the face of the danger of death or great bodily harm."

Report Via KRIV - HOUSTON - Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal and a Houston police officer have covered the funeral costs for a 7-year-old girl who was shot and killed over the weekend.
Jazmine Barnes was shot in the head about 7 a.m. Sunday while her family’s vehicle was traveling on the Beltway 8 feeder road near Wallisville Road.
The story has garnered national attention, including a $100,000 reward being offered by a New York City activist to the person who turns in the gunman.
On Thursday, sources close to the family told KPRC2’s Brandon Walker that O’Neal and Houston Senior Police Officer Kenneth Miles dropped off a cashier’s check to cover the costs of Jazmine’s funeral, which is scheduled for noon Tuesday at Green House International Church on West Greens Road.
And writer and civil rights activist Shaun King has helped raise over $100,000.
Under the NFL collective bargaining agreement, players make $29,000 for playing in the wild-card round.
"I hate to hear what happened," Hopkins said. "The city of Houston is always supportive of me, of this team. I felt in my heart, it was only right that I give back to those that are down."

Raport Via Houston Chronicle -- The murder of Jazmine Barnes, a seven-year-old Houston girl killed by an unidentified man during a drive-by shooting, emotionally affected Texans All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
The father of a five-year-old girl, Hopkins has pledged his playoff check for Saturday's AFC wild-card game against the Indianapolis Colts to assist the family with funeral costs and support the ongoing investigation to apprehend the killer. The shooter has been described as a bearded white man in his 40s driving a red pickup truck.
"I have a five-year-old daughter, so that could have been anybody in that position on this team," Hopkins said. "It could have been anybody who is in this city, so it’s just unfortunate. I felt in my heart, it’s only right to give back to those who are down. Man, it’s a tough situation for that to happen.
"What I can do, that won’t bring back a person. I’m not trying to make it all about me or anything like that, but it’s the least I could do.”
On Hopkins' official Twitter account, he wrote: "When I see Jazmine Barnes' face, I see my own daughter. On Saturday, I will be playing in your honor, Jazmine."
Investigators are searching for the man responsible for the second-grader's death. He was driving a pickup truck, pulling up next to the car Barnes and her family were riding in when he shot her and her mother, LaPorsha Washington. Barnes' three sisters were in the car at the time of the shooting, with one injured by shattered glass.
Jazmine Barnes' father has established a GoFundMe page to raise money for funeral costs. It's up to $40,000.

While still mourning the loss of Ki’Anthony Tyus, the 13-year old Louisville teen who died in a car crash following a police chase, Master P, has decided to cover the costs of the teen's funeral, according to AllHipHop.
The Courier Journal reports that Tyus was a passenger in a stolen Lexus SUV, being pursued by police when it crashed into a pole on December 22.
Louisville police are investigating whether officers' pursuit of the vehicle violated a department policy intended to prevent such fatalities.
P had a personal connection to Tyus, having met him in 2015 after the young boy was hit in the leg by a stray bullet when he was 9-years old.
"My 13 year old lil soldier didn’t make it. He got shot 2 years ago and got Killed 2 days ago," P wrote in an Instagram post. "We need to stop this black on black crime. Rip Ki’Anthony Tyus. #weallwegot Just know that every decision comes with consequences and no one is too young to die. My prayers go out to his family. Could’ve been the next Lebron James."
The LMPD Public Integrity Unit will lead a probe into the fatal crash, department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said.
The department's pursuit policy, passed in 2012, is one of the strictest in the nation. The policy forbids officers from initiating a pursuit unless they have reason to believe a suspect has committed a violent felony or is wanted on a warrant for a violent crime.
Tyus' funeral will take place later this week.
