PHILADELPHIA — Rapper Beanie Sigel (SEE'-gul) is facing criminal charges for alleged tax fraud. Federal prosecutors in Philadelphia say the entertainer born Dwight Grant made $1.5 million from 2002 to 2004, but filed no tax returns. Sigel has served time on drug and weapons charges, and for prescription drug use while on federal probation. But he has also led anti-violence rallies in his hometown and spoken to high school students about life choices. Sigel's albums include "The Truth," "The B. Coming" and "The Solution." The tax charges come in a federal information filed Wednesday. That typically indicates a defendant's cooperation. Sigel's lawyer did not immediately return a call for comment. It wouldn't be basketball without politicians Remember NBA Jam's bizarre roster of characters featuring everyone from Warren Moon to Bill Clinton? The upcoming NBA Jam for Wii isn't about to disappoint in that regard, with its presidential qualifications fulfilled neatly by one Barack Obama and other unexpected players hidden away. As well as Obama, fans of politics and basketball can burn up the court with Sarah Palin, Dick Cheney and Joe Biden. As existing players, the characters' faces are based on real photos, with Cheney's "Darth Vader snarl" making it into the game intact. The game also includes the Beastie Boys and an extra, "super secret" musician character who supposedly will only be revealed when unlocked. Certain classic NBA Jam players also return, with Karl "The Mailman" Malone and Patrick Ewing back in the game, although Charles Barkley and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will be sadly absent. North American gamers can find NBA Jam on their store shelves today, with a European launch to follow. Source: Nintendo Life twitter-5d.gif

Somewhere, probably on a beach, country sand bum Kenny Chesney is likely celebrating the #1 debut of his latest album, Hemingway's Whiskey, which will top the Billboard 200 chart next week thanks to sales of 183,000. He easily beat out the week's other top debut, the digital release of incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne's I Am Not a Human Being album, which sold 110,000 copies, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. The physical release of Weezy's album, with bonus tracks, is due on October 12. The pair lead a stampede of new faces on the charts this week, which also include Gucci Mane at #4 with Georgia's Most Wanted (60,000) and guitar legend Eric Clapton at #6 with Clapton (47,000). The rest of the top 10: Zac Brown Band, You Get What You Give (#3, 70,000), Eminem, Recovery (#5, 59,000), Trey Songz, Passion, Pain & Pleasure (#7, 42,000), Linkin Park, A Thousand Suns (#8, 42,000), Maroon 5, Hands All Over (#9, 41,000, down 71 percent in week two) and Selena Gomez & the Scene, A Year Without Rain (#10, 38,000). Just outside the top, Jimmy Eat World land at #11 with Invented (38,000), Lil Boosie is just behind at #13 with the aptly titled Incarcerated (30,000), rock icon Neil Young comes in at #14 with Le Noise (30,000) and Nine Inch Nails maestro Trent Reznor skates into the #20 position with his score to the Facebook move, "The Social Network." Veteran rapper-turned-family-movie-actor Ice Cube has a soft landing at #22 with I Am the West (22,000), grunge giants Soundgarden are at #26 with their hits collection Telephantasm (19,000), Jeremih is hot on their heels at #17 with All About You (18,000) and smooth crooner Seal crashes in at #31 with Seal 6: Commitment (17,000). It was also chart debut time for brainy punkers Bad Religion, whose The Dissent of Man comes in at #35 (16,000), just head of Ben Folds' collabo with author Nick Hornby, Lonely Avenue (14,000) and Deerhunter's Halcyon Digest (#37, 14,000). Also debuting this week: Mushroomhead, Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children (#44, 11,000), Gin Blossoms, No Chocolate Cake (#73, 7,000), Mark Ronson and the Business Intl., Record Collection (#81, 6,000) and No Age, Everything in Between (#103, 4,000). You would think that Lil Wayne being in jail would give him a break from drama in the outside world, but that's not the case. Boombox is reporting that Weezy is about to be served a summons to appear in federal court for failure to pay Atlanta producer Mali Boy. Mali claims he has not received payment for the song "Mrs Officer" that appeared on the multi platinum selling 'Tha Carter III' album. This lawsuit comes on the heels of Bangladesh's claim that he hasn't been paid for "A Milli". And even more recently "Lollipop" producer Jim Jonsin told AllHipHop he hasn't seen a dime for his work either. "We’re still trying to get paid. Clearly, I don’t understand what the issue is. They sold the record, they’ve collected the checks, they’ve even gotten huge advances, they’re buying Bugattis, and spending all kinds of money. But the producers and people that created the songs are not getting paid. And so we’re going through some things now in hopes that it gets fixed. That thing was like the most downloaded song in history, so pay the people who made it. It’s not your record, it’s our record," Jonsin said. Clearly Cash Money is making a lot of money, so none of this makes sense. I've never heard of a label not paying this many different producers for their work. Bangladesh has said recently he is going to put in some work on 'Pink Friday', Nicki Minaj's debut album, but make no mistake he's still trying collect what is owed to him. "Everything is being worked out through the legal process," he told BoomBox. "It's really out of his control honestly. I mean he don't run the label, he don't own the label -- he's just on the label." Lil Wayne will be a free man November 5. twitter-5d.gif

As the lunatic enters the door, he cuts the throat of the first person he encounters. He then heads directly to the store owner sitting behind the counter and starts cutting and slashing at him. Another person intervenes, trying to help subdue this guy, but unfortunately for him the guy with he knife turns to attack him. Finally the store owner is able to get his gun and shoot the attacker. That was like something right out of a horror movie. twitter-5d.gif

Video After The Jump Randy Moss' improbable return to Minnesota is about to become reality. The Vikings and the Patriots have agreed to a blockbuster trade that will send the Pro Bowl wide receiver back to Minnesota for the Vikings' 2011 third-round pick on Wednesday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. When the trade is completed, the Patriots will have two picks in each of the first four rounds of the 2011 draft -- their own picks and a first-round pick from Oakland, a second-round pick from Carolina, the third-round pick from Minnesota and a fourth-rounder from Denver. A source close to Moss told ESPN NFL senior analyst Chris Mortensen that Patriots coach Bill Belichick informed Moss of the trade on Wednesday morning by telephone. The source said the conversation was cordial, with both men expressing appreciation for the time they spent together. Moss will report to the Vikings on Wednesday and is said to be "excited" about returning to his original team with Brett Favre at quarterback, the source said. No contract extension talks have been conducted, but it is expected the two sides will have a discussion later in the day, the source said. FoxSports.com earlier reported the trade talks. The seven-time Pro Bowl receiver is in the final year of his four-year contract with New England and has voiced his displeasure with being in limbo. "When you have done so much and put so much work in, it kind of feels like I am not wanted," Moss said before the season began on Sept. 6. "I am taking that in stride and playing my final year out and whatever the future holds is what it holds, but it is kind of a bad feeling -- feeling not wanted. It is not like my production has gone down." A few days later he apologized for the timing of his comments and said he loves playing in New England. But the Boston Herald, citing an unnamed source, reported on Tuesday that Moss wanted out of New England after a Week 1 win on Sept. 12, telling his agent to ask the Patriots to trade him. Although the Patriots crushed the Dolphins on Monday night, Moss did not have a catch -- the first time that's happened for him in a New England uniform. Moss and Belichick did not speak or even see each other on Tuesday, a league source told Schefter. Source: ESPN twitter-5d.gif

Video After The Jump Bugatti's, million dollar watches, now their own credit card. Looks like Young Money is stuntin a little bit. Well, the credit cards are actually debit cards branded with the YM logo. Mack Maine told Boombox that fans will soon have the opportunity to cop one of their own. Possibly with the logo of their favorite crew member on it. "It is true, so make sure the fans and the people that are interested sign up. It's a prepaid card. We're not starting it out with each member having their own card just yet. It's just pretty much a Young Money card and then we'll branch out to like Nicki Minaj pink cards, maybe having Wayne and Drake cards being like the black cards. You know, just different levels of it. Maybe have Twist and Chuckee for the younger crowd. We'll make sure each member has it as we learn the ropes." Mack said. While on the set of Mack Maine's upcoming video "All In One Swipe", Mack and Bow Wow show off their black and platinum YM cards. Once the cards are available, stores like Target will offer discounts to customers who use them instead of cash.

Sip Hop,Born James Dillard in February 17, 1984 Located at Cleveland, MS. Son of mother Maxine Jackson. I first got into Hip Hop when i was a child, liking poetry style, and street wisdom. I remember when i was in the 7th grade, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony & Twista was having a tongue twist movement. so i started just doing a little twist with it but i was loving hip hop like Nas, Jadakiss and Jay-z because of the fact, it was the truth. so after that first rhyme i just went ahead to keep up with it. my first studio session was in Chicago, IL at a studio called Shockhouse productions.Met a emcee name H2O, i mean this dude was a real emcee plus we were classmates at a College name Kennndy-King City College. At the time i just rushing that moment to get myself to be indie for hip hop even though it was getting there but at the end of the story it got bad. then i move back to Cleveland,MS to get myself right and plus finsh school and try to connect with studio companies in misssissippi. Djilla, cool cat, you know. He had a Studio let me do what i do, but the problem became with me just freestyle in the booth. it was funny because of the fact that i was just being real hip hop. then my next studio session was in Atlanta,GA, at the time i was starting to love the mixtape game because mixtapes is your backbone in hip hop basides Djays. with me as a artist I'm more as a southern emcee just keeping it real, having fun, being fresh to def, having a state of mind and sexing your chick at the same time.

It's been three years since Lupe Fiasco dropped his last album. In today's hip hop world that's an eternity. Lupe's fans are ready to rise up and revolt against his label, Atlantic Records. On October 15 fans will be outside Atlantic's headquarters protesting and demanding Lupe's long awaited 'Lasers' album be released according to the Village Voice. 17 year old Mathew La Corte is the organizer of the protest dubbed Fiasco Friday. He and a lot of other fans are simply fed up with Atlantic holding Lupe's album hostage with no release date in sight. La Corte has amassed 29,000 signatures on a petition, there's also a Facebook group with 900 members. He talked to Village Voice about how this all started. "Well, three years ago Lupe came out and said that he was going to do a new album. And we were kind of waiting around for things to happen. Then Lupe started to release some information about how the album was finished, the album was done, and he gave it into his record label Atlantic and nothing was happening. It was in their hands and he couldn't do anything. So we continued to wait. And then there was a petition that was started, and people started to spread that around, and now I think we're at 29,000 signatures. But we gave that in to Atlantic this summer and what happened was they tweeted that it was coming; that was all they were saying. They refused to give us any official information about why it hasn't been released. And I think many of us feel personally disrespected that they really have blatantly just been completely silent on this issue--that's basically what started this whole thing." When asked why pick Lupe out of hundreds or rappers who get their albums shelved every year, La Corte had this to say. "Personally I feel that Lupe Fiasco is a completely different breed of rapper. There are a lot of other types of rappers and what we really wanted to focus on was not talking about other rappers and what they do and naming names, but focusing on Lupe and his positive message and the things he talks about in his songs. It's also what he does outside the record booth and all the things he does for charity. He just climbed Mount Kilimanjaro last year for charity. He just donated coats for a children's charity. He's a rapper but he's also a social advocate, he's a political activist. He does things that really break the mold of that traditional rapper, and I think that's what draws a lot of people to his music is that here's a guy who is really talking about some of the most major issues that a lot of people feel, and that's why a lot of people can relate to him. Because we all, as the youth and even as older people, we have thoughts about what's going on, what's happening around us and we want to express those thoughts. And people have said, "Oh, there are so many other reasons you could be protesting. Why are you protesting Lupe Fiasco?" I think that it's important that we get behind one person who's going put out information and ideas that other rappers aren't. That's a major portion of why we're doing this in the first place. Why is Atlantic not putting out this record? You can see right now how strong of a fanbase he has. Is the issue that it's not commercial? You're not going to hear a Lupe Fiasco songs on many radio stations. Are you gonna be able to get that money as the Atlantic Music Corporation from radio play? It's not gonna happen. So what idea is Atlantic Records putting out? That it's okay to bring our children up with this music that's all about me going out and partying tonight? Is that really what we're all looking for? I mean, rap and music and creative expression has forever been used to reflect the society, and what's going on in the world right now. I think there's a lot of other things that rappers can be expressing, and the things that are on the radio are really do not reflect what this society is all about. And I think that's why there's so much push behind Lupe, because he's really much more than just a rapper from Chicago. He represents a generation, and a movement." It's good to see fans actually doing something instead of sitting in front of their computers b*tching and whining. Whether it will make a difference remains to be seen. twitter-5d.gif
