In what’s being described as the largest Orange County drug bust in 16 years, two Buena Park residents were arrested last month after authorities recovered “enough fentanyl to kill 4.7 million people,” authorities announced Wednesday.

About 821 pounds of methamphetamine, 190 pounds of cocaine and 21 pounds of fentanyl pills were recovered after Buena Park police pulled over a minivan leaving a home on March 17, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities did not elaborate on how they calculated the number of people who would die from the amount of fentanyl seized.

Edgar Alfonso Lamas, 36, and Carlos Raygozaparedes, 53, were arrested and have been charged with one felony count of possession of sale of a controlled substance, three felony counts of sale or transportation for sale of a controlled substance, and two felony counts of possession of sale of a controlled substance, officials said.

The men, described as drug dealers, were also charged with two felony enhancements that the controlled substances exceeded 80 kilograms by weight, and two felony enhancements that the controlled substances exceeded 20 kilograms by weight or 400 liters by liquid volume.

The men pleaded not guilty to the charges and remain in custody on $5 million bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for June 7, and they each face more than 37 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

(CNN) The families of five children and four adults killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting have reached a $73 million settlement with the now-bankrupt gun manufacturer Remington and its four insurers, the plaintiffs' attorneys said Tuesday.

The settlement comes more than seven years after the families filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Remington, the manufacturer of the Bushmaster AR-15-style rifle used in the massacre that left 20 children and six adults dead in Newtown, Connecticut.

The families have also "obtained and can make public thousands of pages of internal company documents that prove Remington's wrongdoing and carry important lessons for helping to prevent future mass shootings," the plaintiffs' attorneys said in a news release.

"These nine families have shared a single goal from the very beginning: to do whatever they could to help prevent the next Sandy Hook. It is hard to imagine an outcome that better accomplishes that goal," plaintiffs' attorney Josh Koskoff said.

"This victory should serve as a wake-up call not only to the gun industry, but also the insurance and banking companies that prop it up," Koskoff said.

The families sued Remington in 2014, alleging it should be held partially responsible for the shooting because of its marketing strategy. A 2005 federal law protects many gun manufacturers from wrongful death lawsuits brought by family members -- but the marketing argument was a new approach.

Wendy Williams‘ troubles continued to mount on Friday when the media personality asked a New York court to restore her access to a bank account containing a large sum of cash.

An attorney for the 57-year-old television host, whose health issues have sidelined her from her eponymous show since last summer, filed a petition 2 days ago asking a judge to force Wells Fargo to restore her access to an account holding “several million dollars.”

Williams has been locked out of the account for 2 weeks. Her petition said she has suffered “imminent & irreparable financial damage,” as a result.

“Wells Fargo’s actions & the actions of its agents have impeded & unlawfully prevented [Williams] access to her property,” the petition stated.

The bank previously told the court its agreement with Williams allowed it to “pause or reject instructions for a proposed transaction” if the company suspects “financial exploitation, dementia, or undue influence.”

In November, Williams’ brother denied reports that his famous sister suffers from dementia. Her attorney argued in their petition on Friday that Wells Fargo has exceed its authority, in part, because she hasn’t executed any transaction that would give the bank reason to pause or reject account access.

The petition requested that Williams’ account access be restored while she resolves her dispute with Wells Fargo via arbitration.

It asked the court to “reopen any frozen accounts or assets” & to let her access “any accompanying statements, currently identifiable as accounts and/or policies which contain funds that were removed and/or withheld” from her accounts within 48 hours from Friday.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — It won’t be a dog’s life for a Tennessee canine whose owner recently died.

Lulu, an 8-year-old border collie, will be living the good life in Nashville after inheriting $5 million in her owner’s will, WTVF-TV reported.

Martha Burton, Lulu’s caretaker, told the station Lulu’s owner, Bill Dorris, was a successful businessman who wasn’t married and died late last year. His will states the money should be put into a trust for Lulu’s care. It allows for Burton to be reimbursed for reasonable monthly expenses in the care of Lulu.

“He just really loved the dog,” said Burton, who was friends with Dorris and would take care of the dog when he traveled.

She says she doesn’t know if she could ever spend $5 million on Lulu.

“Well, I’d like to try,” she said with a smile.

Dorris owned land along Interstate 65 where a controversial statue of Confederate Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest is located. The fate of the statue & the rest of the estate may be determined in probate court.

Although Chadwick Boseman knew for years he had terminal cancer, we now know he died without writing a will, but he made a key move months before his death to financially protect his wife.

The "Black Panther" star's widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, has filed probate docs, obtained by TMZ, in which she asks to be named administrator of Chadwick's estate. Taylor has to file the docs in probate court because he did not leave a will.

That seems odd considering Chadwick was diagnosed with colon cancer 4 years ago, and knew it was terminal. However, that also puts his marriage to Taylor, who he reportedly dated since 2015, in a new light ... and here's why.

They got engaged in late 2019, and reportedly tied the knot at some point in 2020. That's important because when a person dies without a will and without children, their surviving spouse inherits all the assets of the probate estate.

According to the docs, Taylor gets nearly $1 million in personal property and assets, but that's not a true reflection of Chadwick's wealth and success. Most likely the majority of his assets are held in separate private trusts.

In the docs, Taylor notes Chadwick is also survived by his 2 parents.

As you know, he was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and it progressed to stage IV as he silently battled through it. Chadwick died in his home surrounded by his wife and family.

A South Florida rapper and reality star has been charged and accused of pocketing coronavirus relief money to buy a Ferrari.

Diamond Blue Smith, 36, a cast member on "Love & Hip Hop: Miami" and a member of the group Pretty Ricky, was arrested Monday along with 28-year-old Tonye C. Johnson of Pennsylvania for their roles in a $24 million COVID-19 relief fraud scheme.

Smith and Johnson both face charges of wire fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud.

The government alleges Smith -- also known as "Baby Blue" -- obtained money for a Ferrari by falsifying documents to get a Paycheck Protection Program loan worth nearly $427,000 dollars. He allegedly did the same for another loan worth nearly $1 million.

The FBI's investigation revealed Smith was allegedly part of a broader scheme convincing others to file for the funds while taking kickbacks. There are at least 11 other defendants.

PPP loans were meant for qualifying small businesses to receive money in emergency and forgivable loans due to impacts from the pandemic. It was part of the $2 trillion CARES Act.

Congress later found more than $1 billion dollars in relief aid was fraudulently obtained.

(Yahoo Sports) - Canelo Alvarez’s next 11 fights will be available to watch on DAZN. The 28-year-old finalized his deal with the streaming service Wednesday, and it sounds like he’s going to make a ton of money in the process.

How much? Well, if the reported figures are to be believed, Alvarez just signed the biggest contract in the history of sports. While the official figure hasn’t been released just yet, outlets are reporting the deal is worth at least $365 million.

Alvarez’s rumored deal with DAZN was first reported by Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole. It will begin as early as December. His fight with Rocky Fielding on Dec. 15 is slated to stream on the service.

Alvarez was looking for a fight deal after HBO announced it would stop broadcasting boxing before the end of the year. DAZN — pronounced Da Zone — has been a popular destination for the sport. The service currently charges $9.99 per month for subscribers.

"I Am The Greatest" words spoken by the legendary Muhammed Ali. Those words would be what inspired Tyrone "Yung Cassius" Thorne. Yung Cassius became one of the most respected underground rappers from the gritty streets of Brooklyn, New York. Just as Muhammed Ali, Yung Cassius has the same drive, determination and passion to be the greatest. The same vision and hunger just in a different field.

Born in Guyana South America, he migrated to United States with his family at the tender age of 11, settling in the heavy Caribbean-populated community Flatbush section of Brooklyn New York. He faced the harsh reality of gangs, guns, drugs and murders in his neighborhood.

Growing up in Guyana which is located on the northeast coast of Latin America, along the Atlantic Ocean. Guyana border with Suriname to the east, border with Venezuela to the northwest, and border with Brazil to the south and southwest. Being the only English speaking country in South America, it's considered to be West Indian because of it's cultural similarities to the West Indies such as the foods, music and dialect. Yung Cassius had no hip-hop influence at that point of his life.

Yung Cassius rarely heard hip hop music being played in his home country Guyana, He grew up listening to Reggae artist such as Shabba Ranks, Bounty Killa, Super Cat, Ninja Man, Pinchers, Merciless etc. Even though raised on reggae music, he always wanted to record and perform music. After school Cassius would sit at home and listen to instrumentals day after day just trying to perfect his craft. He started rapping at the age of 18, at the age of 21 he decided to perfect his craft and start taking it seriously. What started out as just a hobby eventually turned into something of an addiction.

Determined to succeed with the aim of moving his family out the hood, Yung Cassius hit the streets hard with a barrage of underground bangers such as "OMBS," "Child Hood Idol," "TTYL," "I want it all" and "Signs". The rebirth of and era with a new twist, New York had its own unique sound and style. When you hear a project that Yung Cassius is on or have worked on you will hear what’s missing from New York artists.

There's no way to know for sure if Fantasia Barrino's suicide attempt was real or a publicity stunt. But her actions following her release from the hospital call into question her true motives. Just one day after getting out of the hospital for an aspirin overdose, the singer is seen with the married man she is accused of having an affair with. A camera crew was with them. It's believed they were being filmed for a segment on Fantasia's VH1 Behind The Music special, which happens to air on the same day her new album, 'Back To Me' is being released. Fantasia insists the suicide attempt was real. She's quoted in a story that appears today on PEOPLE.com as saying: "I didn't have any fight in me. I didn't care about anything. I just wanted out. At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that [expletive]. I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can't accidentally take a whole bottle of pills. I was tired of people doing me wrong, constantly, over and over again, dealing with my family – my father, dealing with men and their [expletive] – I was tired. My head was hurting me. I was over it." Maybe Fantasia's head was hurting because she is facing a possible lawsuit from Paula Cook. The wife of Antwaun Cook, the man who's been breaking Barrino's back for a hot minute now. "[Paula Cook] has threatened via her lawyers to me to sue Fantasia," the singer's lawyer, Gena Morris, told PEOPLE. North Carolina is one of seven states that allows the "other man" or "other woman" to be sued for alienation of affection and criminal conversation. In March a woman named Anne Lunquist was ordered to pay $9 millions dollars to Cynthia Shackelford of North Carolina for breaking up her marriage under that very law.

Fantasia and Antwuan Cook With Camera Crew One Day After Her Release From Hospital For "Overdose" So if Fantasia wasn't faking a suicide attempt, it could be the possibility of losing everything she has motivated her to end it all or at least seek sympathy. "I remember waking up in the hospital [and thinking], 'It didn't work, I'm still here in this hellhole. Still here with all this drama going on,'" she now says. Fantasia better hope Paula Cook decides to take it easy on her or that "hellhole" she thinks she's been living in is going to get a whole lot hotter. twitter-5d.gif

When Tara Rachel Benson went out on a recent night to an album release party in Los Angeles, she put on her makeup, a tight-fitting Herve Leger dress, stiletto heels—and a pair of padded panties.

"It's part of the whole outfit," says Ms. Benson, a 25-year-old assistant to a music manager. Wearing the Booty Pop brand of underwear, which contain egg-shaped foam pads to plump up the posterior, "I look better, I feel better, and as a result, I act better," she says.

For centuries, women have wriggled into girdles and other slimmers to minimize their rear ends. Now, a fascination with the hind-quarters of celebrities like Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian is fueling a booming market for undergarments that amplify the derrière.

On Booty Pop's late-night infomercials, which began airing in December, viewers are entreated to "forget about doing endless squats—and cosmetic surgery, who can afford that?" as models prance around in tight jeans flaunting their backsides.

In May, Bed Bath & Beyond started carrying Booty Pop in most of its 967 stores and online. Drugstore Walgreens, which jumped on the Booty Pop bandwagon in April, is carrying the product at 1,000 of its 7,541 stores and mulling an expansion. Earlier this month, Target started carrying Booty Pop online.

Booty Pop projects it will sell close to 1 million pairs of padded underwear this year.

"I want one," the famously skinny reality TV star Nicole Richie wrote this month on Twitter, after which she posted a link to a "black licorice" cotton-spandex pair, on sale for $19.95. Through her publicist, Ms. Richie declined to comment.

Booty Pop isn't the only company seeking a boost from behind. Early next year, Maidenform Brands plans to introduce a "Jean Collection"—internally called "Project Injeanious"—containing bottom shapers.

"There are a lot of similarities between what you can do for the rear and breast—you can lift it, round it and shape it," says Maurice Reznik, Maidenform's chief executive.

At lingerie retailer Frederick's of Hollywood, the $28 "Booty Boy Short" (they're for women, despite the name) is currently the No. 2 top-selling shaping item online. Victoria's Secret introduced the "bum booster" in January in some outlets, and a spokeswoman says it is selling well.

"It's not so hot to have a pancake a— these days," says Azar Jazestani, a 26-year-old wedding planner in Montreal, who wears Booty Pop panties with jeans.

The robbers who were let into Graff's

Times Online Reports An armed gang who took a woman hostage as they stole £40 million worth of rings, necklaces and bracelets from an exclusive store are thought to have escaped with Britain’s biggest ever haul of jewellery. Two smartly dressed men arrived by black taxi at Graff's jewellers in Bond Street, Central London last week and were buzzed through the airlock into the store, which caters for stars including Mike Tyson, the Beckhams and Naomi Campbell. Once inside they both produced handguns and forced the staff onto the floor, apart from one woman who was told to open a display cabinet. Within a matter of minutes they had grabbed 43 items and thrown them into a holdall before briefly taking the female worker hostage as they left the building. Police believe this was to make sure they were not locked between the two security doors. As they left they fired a warning shot into the ground before escaping in a blue BMW which was later abandoned nearby after crashing into a taxi. A second shot was then fired into the ground as members of the public began to give chase to the gang who clambered into a silver Mercedes. The men then got into a black car, described as a Ford Galaxy or VW Sharan. The same store lost jewellery worth £23 million in a robbery in 2003 when two Serbians armed with a wig, a revolver and a scooter held up staff. In 2007, jewellery worth several million pounds was stolen from a branch of Graff's Diamonds in London’s Sloane Street by two men posing as customers. Detectives from the Flying Squad believe they are looking for at least five men, including a motorbike rider who was given a package by the two men when they were in the BMW. Detective Chief Inspector Pam Mace from the Flying Squad said: "This was a well planned robbery with a number of vehicles used to help the robbers escape. These men are extremely dangerous and fired at least two shots in busy London streets as they made their getaway. "As far as the UK is concerned we do not know of a bigger raid. “Someone knows who these men are, they would undoubtedly have spoken about it beforehand or boasted about it afterwards. I would urge anyone who recognises them, knows the whereabouts of the jewellery or has any other information to contact us." The first suspect is described as white, approximately 30 years old, with a slim build, dark hair with a well-combed side parting, light stubble on his face and is 5 ft 10 - 6 ft tall. He was wearing a grey suit, white shirt and tie. His accomplice is black, described as being in his 30s, 6 ft tall, more well built than the first suspect, with very short Afro hair. He was also wearing a grey suit, white shirt and tie. It is believed both men spoke with London accents

Action figure-turned-movie star G.I. Joe stormed his way to the top of the box office this week, crushing rivals on the first weekend in his big screen debut. "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" raked in $56.2 million in North America and $100.3 million worldwide. The globetrotting adventure starring Dennis Quaid, Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller and Marlon Wayans enjoyed wide appeal in surprising places. "One of the best markets on the movie was Russia," said Rob Moore of Paramount Pictures. "How far G.I. Joe has come. He was incredibly popular in Russia." "Julie & Julia," featuring Meryl Streep as iconic female chef Julia Child, opened a solid No. 2 as an alternative for adult crowds with $20.1 million. "G-Force," the guinea pig animated action movie and former box-office winner, earned $9.8 million and third place at the box office, and "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" dropped to No. 4 with $8.9 million. Last week's top movie, Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen's "Funny People," tumbled to No. 5 with $7.9 million, while the newest slasher thriller, "A Perfect Getaway," opened at No. 7 with $5.8 million. "G.I. Joe" pulled Hollywood out of a month-long box-office swoon. The downturn was particularly noticeable compared with last summer, when Batman blockbuster "The Dark Knight" remained No. 1 for four weeks and sent ticket sales soaring, box-office watchers said. "'Joe' kind of saved the day," said Paul Dergarabedian, box-office analyst for Hollywood.com. "We needed a box-office hero to turn things around, and we certainly got it." Source : NY Daily News

During happier times: Kesha Ni'Cole Nichols showed off her engagement ring as she attended an event with Richard Jefferson in New York on June 13.

It was supposed to be the best day of their lives. Former New Jersey Nets star Richard Jefferson and onetime Nets dancer Kesha Ni'Cole Nichols were set to tie the knot at the Mandarin Oriental last Saturday, NYPost.com reports. But in an unexpected turn of events, Jefferson bailed the night before their wedding. The cold-footed fiancé ditched his stunning bride-to-be at such late notice that some guests had already shown up to the extravagant $2 million event that never took place. Jefferson — who was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in June — dumped Nichols just before the weekend, according to sources. Although Nichols, 29, immediately called her family and friends to alert them of the ill-timed news, the basketball pro waited much longer. "He called about two hours before the wedding. It was nuts," said one Jefferson pal. Although Jefferson never showed up to the hotel, he made sure to give his best friend his Black Amex credit card, with which the guests made good use of during the night. A jilted Nichols, who was "not entirely caught off-guard," checked into the hotel and was upgraded to a suite on the 45th floor overlooking Central Park on what would have been her wedding night, according to a source at the hotel. "She just wants to keep this as quiet as possible and move on," a Nichols family insider told FoxSports. "She's doing just fine." Neither Jefferson nor Nichols have responded to requests for comment.
