More trouble for Odell Beckham ... a warrant for his arrest has been issued by a judge after the NFL star slapped a security officer in the ass during the LSU locker room celebration.
"We can confirm a warrant has been issued on a charge of simple battery," a spokesperson for the New Orleans Police Dept. tells TMZ Sports.
And get this ... authorities initially sought to charge Beckham with misdemeanor sexual battery, according to Nola.com ... but a judge wouldn't approve it. Instead, the judge agreed the simple battery charge was more appropriate.
Footage of the incident went viral ... Beckham was celebrating with the LSU football team after they won the National Championship at the Superdome on Monday night when the incident went down.
A police officer appeared to be policing players over cigar smoking in the locker room when Odell reached back and slapped the guy HARD right on his ass.
If convicted, 27-year-old Beckham faces up to 6 months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Beckham's appearance at the CFP National Championship game has been nothing short of a disaster -- not only is he accused of a crime, but he also got LSU in hot water for allegedly handing out REAL cash to LSU football players while celebrating on the field.
LSU has self-reported the money incident to the NCAA and could face serious punishment.
Beckham is a former LSU star WR who currently plays for the Cleveland Browns.
Beckham is one of the highest-paid players in the NFL -- he signed a $95 million contract extension in 2018, with about $65 mil guaranteed.

HARLAN, Iowa (AP) — A Kansas man has asked an Iowa judge to let him engage in a sword fight with his ex-wife and her attorney so that he can “rend their souls” from their bodies.
David Ostrom, 40, of Paola, Kansas, said in a Jan. 3 court filing that his former wife, Bridgette Ostrom, 38, of Harlan, Iowa, and her attorney, Matthew Hudson, had “destroyed (him) legally.” The Ostroms have been embroiled in disputes over custody and visitation issues and property tax payments.
The judge had the power to let the parties “resolve our disputes on the field of battle, legally,” David Ostrom said, adding in his filing that trial by combat “has never been explicitly banned or restricted as a right in these United States.”
He also asked the judge for 12 weeks’ time so he could secure Japanese samurai swords.
His motion filed in Shelby County District Court stemmed from his frustrations with his ex-wife’s attorney, Ostrom told The Des Moines Register.
“I think I’ve met Mr. Hudson’s absurdity with my own absurdity,” Ostrom said, adding that his former wife could choose Hudson to act as her champion.
Hudson argued in his legal response that because a duel could end in death, “such ramifications likely outweigh those of property tax and custody issues.” Hudson asked the judge to reject the request for trial by combat.
Judge Craig Dreismeier said in his own filing Monday that he won’t be issuing a decisions anytime soon, citing irregularities with both sides’ motions and responses.
“Until the proper procedural steps to initiate a court proceeding are followed, this court will take no further action concerning any motion, objection or petition filed by either party at this time,” the judge said.

Whitney Houston and The Notorious B.I.G. will be posthumously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the 2020 class, the institution announced Wednesday. They are joined by the Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, and T. Rex.
The Hall of Fame also named the two non-performing winners of the Ahmet Ertegun Award as veteran music journalist, producer and manager Jon Landau, and famed music manager Irving Azoff. The award honors "songwriters, producers, disc jockeys, record executives, journalists and other industry professionals who have had a major influence on rock n roll."
Houston died in 2012 at the age of 48. Her cause of death was ruled as accidental drowning, but heart disease and cocaine use were contributing factors, according to coroner's officials.
The Notorious B.I.G. — otherwise known as Biggie Smalls, or Christopher George Latore Wallace — defined the East Coast school of rap during in the 90s. With massive hits like "Juicy" and "Big Poppa," his work catapulted rap into an influential art form.
Wallace was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in 1997.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio. The 35th annual ceremony will be broadcast live for the first time on HBO on May 2nd at 8 p.m. ET.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio (CBS 42) – A Cleveland Heights teenager and a group of his friends are in hot water after staging an armed robbery of the teen’s mother.
Police say the 17-year-old’s idea of playing a prank on his mother was to conspire with three of his friends, put on ski masks and confront the 40-year-old woman in her driveway.
Investigators say the suspects ordered the woman into her house, where they pointed a gun at her head, told her to get on the floor and demanded her money.
The so-called prank ended badly for the teen and his friends when the 17-year-old staged a fight with the intruders, and his terrified mother ran out of the house.
In a 911 call, the teen told a dispatcher, “I just did a fake robbery prank on my mom and she ran. I know she called the police. She’s nowhere to be found.”
The 17-year-old then explained why he called 911, telling the dispatcher, “I just don’t want the police to come here aggressive, if you get what I’m saying.”
The dispatcher then asked, “you did a fake robbery prank on your mother?”
The teen responded, “Yeah, but she thought it was for real. Like when I got to wrestling my friends for fake, she ran out of the house.”
At the same time, a homeowner on a neighboring street called 911 to report that a woman in distress was hiding on his porch and asking for help.
“I’ve got a lady that knocked on my door and she’s hiding on my porch like someone was chasing her or something, and she said ‘hurry, hurry’, she’s kind of mouthing out the word ‘hurry’. I didn’t open the door and let her in because I don’t know what’s going on, but she sees me on the phone right now calling you guys and I think she was in danger out here,” the concerned resident told the dispatcher.
The teenager told investigators that he actually videotaped his mom being terrorized, as entertainment for his YouTube channel.
When the dispatcher asked, “Can you explain to me what happened and why you did that to your mother?”
The teen responded, “I do YouTube. It was on YouTube, so I did a YouTube prank.”
When the dispatcher then asked, “Is it like a live YouTube thing?”
The 17-year-old responded, “Yeah, it’s still live right now.”
The 17-year-old and one of his friends are facing juvenile charges.
The two adults who took part in the stunt, 19-year-old Isaiah Welch and 18-year-old Jeramy Perry, are facing charges that include inducing panic.
Police seized the cell phone that the boy used to record the staged robbery.
Investigators say the only weapon found at the scene, was an airsoft pistol.

Yo Gotti is a man of his word, following through with a lawsuit on behalf of nearly 30 Mississippi state prisoners enduring nightmarish, sometimes deadly conditions.
TMZ broke the story, Gotti enlisted Team Roc -- the philanthropic arm of Jay-Z's Roc Nation -- and its high-powered attorney, Alex Spiro, to rep the prisoners after a spike in deadly violence at several MS state prisons.
The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in federal court, says the max-security prison, Parchman, is a powder keg after 3 deaths in the first week of 2020. All 3 inmates were stabbed to death.
According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, the MS prison system is "chronically understaffed" and also dramatically underfunded ... as in reduced by tens of millions each year. Those numbers -- combined with allegedly deplorable conditions -- have brought the prison to a boiling point.
To make matters worse, Parchman doesn't have enough mattresses for the inmates, cells are covered in black mold and raw sewage is spilling out on the floors ... according to the suit.
The prison allegedly has a serious water problem too, similar to Flint. In the suit, Team Roc claims the drinking water for inmates repeatedly fails to meet federal safety standards.
According to the suit, inmates are exposed to serious harm and left unprotected because there just aren't enough prison guards.
As we first reported, Gotti, who's from nearby Memphis, was outraged by what's happening inside the walls of Parchman -- and asked Team Roc to fight for the prisoners' civil rights. They demanded MS Gov. Phil Bryant make changes or face a lawsuit, so ... here it is.
The suit seeks damages for the inmates, and an order forcing Mississippi's Dept. of Corrections to lay out a plan to address all the issues ... especially increasing staff and cleaning up the sewage.
Gotti tells TMZ, "The Lives of countless individuals in Mississippi prisons are at stake and we will not stop until this is fixed."
