Tory Lanez offered Megan Thee Stallion money in return for her silence after allegedly shooting her twice in the foot ... so she claims in a new interview.

The rapper says Tory begged her to stay quiet and tried to pay both her and her friend off shortly after the July incident ... for which Lanez has been charged with felony assault.

Megan tells GQ she was really scared because what happened with Tory went down during the middle of the national unrest and protests over police brutality and systemic racism. She says her response to Tory's offer was ... "I can't believe you even think I want to take some money. Like, you just shot me."

MTS goes on to call the incident and the weeks that followed the worst experience of her life, which as we reported ... included her first coming out publicly to address rumors and speculation, and then flat out accusing Tory of pulling the trigger.

Though Lanez has been charged with felony assault for allegedly inflicting great bodily injury on Megan -- and ordered to stay away from her -- he's defended himself by saying a charge is not a conviction ... and went even further on his new album.

Several of the tracks on the album seemingly profess his innocence ... and suggest Megan is a liar.

Tory's attorney tells TMZ ... he "has never offered money to any witness for their silence or for any other reason. Any reports to the contrary are false."

Video After The Jump

In this episode of "People's Party With Talib Kweli," Kweli and Jasmin Leigh chop it up with Wu-Tang Clan founding member, beloved bar spitter, leadoff batter for the 'Triumph' grand slam, and one part of the Czarface triumvirate:

The man who Kweli credits with putting on "a masterclass of internal rhyme scheme."

Rebel INS, Rollie Fingers, Fifth Brother, Ayatollah, Manifesto, Charliehorse

We're talking about...

INSPECTAH DECK

What do Deck, Jasmin, and Kweli cover in this 1:48 interview? A LOT.

Wu-Tang -- from the beginning to the present.
The flood that ruined Deck's debut.
Friendships with RZA and Method Man.
Deck's famous bars on "Triumph" and "C.R.E.A.M."
The formation of the supergroup Czarface.
The power of good lyrics.
"Wu-Tang: An American Saga."

TIME STAMPS:

2:26 -- Deck speaks to people's decreased attention span regarding the lyrical side of hip hop and some of the departures from originality, innovation, and it's competitive edge that have taken place with the move to exploitation and commercialization of the culture. He also lists off some of the greats that impacted him the most coming up, tells why lyrics mattered more in his day, and Deck reflects on being influenced by all the neighboring cities he frequently traveled while growing up in the Park Hill projects of Staten Island, NY. He also speaks to how he had to roll through other areas with large groups because people would call them out on their Staten Island residency. They go on to discuss the instant notoriety their city gained when Wu-Tang Clan hit the scene, and how each member represented their neighborhoods individually.

14:44 -- Deck is asked about the 5 Percenter aspect of the Wu-Tang Clan, and what that philosophy means to him in these current-day conditions. Deck goes into Poppa Wu's influence on him, and how he was like a father figure he missed while growing up. Deck talks about taking the things that meant sense to him, and applying those to his own life. Jasmin goes on to ask Deck about losing his father at age 6, what he learned from his mother, as well as to expand on some of the struggles he witnessed her go through while growing up. Talib goes on to ask Deck for his views on the conversations being held today over defunding the police, and abolishing modern day prisons, as someone that has spent time in the system himself.

25:52 -- Deck talks about what it meant to him to be the first batter up on Wu-Tang's break-out single 'Protect Ya Neck', and having the honor of making that first impression of a group that changed the landscape of the culture. He tells how he would be the one to always have a fresh set of bars to go when he dropped into the studio, and Deck also responds to Method Man's quote stating "Inspectah Deck, he's like that dude that'll sit back and watch you play yourself and all that right? And see you sit there and know you lying; and he'll take you to court after that, cause he the Inspectah."

30:58 -- Jasmin asks Deck how close all the members of the Wu really were, and if there were clicks within the collective, which prompts Deck into expanding on some of the members he grew up in close proximity to. He then shares some valuable lessons learned from RZA about forward thinking, some jewels he received from GZA about writing that dramatically improved his pen game, and he notes U-God's unflinching honesty, teaching Deck how "not to f*ck up your money". He also reflects on Masta Killah and his choice words for the group, as the one elected to have his head chopped off in the Protect Ya Neck music video.

39:53 -- Talib thanks Deck for the verse that he dropped on one Wu's classic track 'C.R.E.A.M' and notes it's impact on him at that particular time in his life. Deck goes on to touch on the influence of that song on the culture and his headspace while writing his historic bars on that song, as well as Raekwon's specific role with his verse. He also explains how what could have been a straight-forward hustler's anthem actually turned into a conscious rap song. Jasmin asks Deck how he felt after C.R.E.A.M. put Wu-Tang onto global rockstar status. Deck responds with "that's when they started saying Wu-Tang fell off". They also discuss the longevity of Wu-Tang's hold on pop culture throughout the years.

52:09 -- Deck frames his thought process when he penned his classic verse on Wu-Tang's 'Triumph'. He outlines the day RZA was conducting the beat sometime around 4 in the morning, Deck sitting nearby with a pen and paper, and him reflecting on a verse he dropped earlier on a Tony Touch mixtape. Deck illustrates his and the other's reactions when they heard the finished product on full blast. They also discuss Deck and Lady Of Rage's verses for 2Pac's 'Got My Mind Made Up' not making the official release, why he heard they got taken off, and tells about time spent with the Death Row family around the recording session.

1:02:13 -- Deck speaks on his debut album 'Uncontrolled Substance', that was originally slated for release in 1995, but was indefinitely postponed after a flood destroyed over 100 beats in RZA's basement, including his original productions for the album. He talks about learning some hard lessons about the industry through that incident. Deck also gets into some of the work that he's done with producer/rapper Terminology, shared how they linked up, and talks about the Czarface collective of himself and 7L & Esoteric, consistently dropping material since 2013. They also discuss Deck's affinity for Spiderman and how they worked superhero themes into Czarface.

1:13:56 -- Talib asks Deck if he's ever experienced push-back from white fans for being publicly pro-black, and what he feels is the responsibility of white fans or white participants within hip hop culture. Deck goes on to illustrate his interpretation of what it means to be pro-black, as well as his laid back approach to navitaging negative energy on twitter feeds, and persistent trollers. Jasmin goes on to ask Deck how he felt about rapper Joey Bada$$ playing his part in 'Wu-Tang: An American Saga', and if he's had the chance to visit the set. Deck also gets into his friendship with Method Man, and how the two almost formed a group together before Wu-Tang came together.

1:23:33 -- The conversation circles back to Deck's debut release 'Uncontrolled Substance', and how he took a stab at doing much of the album's production himself due to RZA being tied up in other projects at the time. He talks about the struggles with all the things needed to learn about production, the legalities of releasing the record, as well as avoiding all the pitfalls of the industry. He also speaks to how important it is for anyone to learn how to utilize google searches, being by in large the best tool he found on his path to learning everything he needed to know. Deck also touches on wise money management and now being at point where he is completely content with his level of success.

1:36:35 -- Deck tells about his relationship with Ol' Dirty Bastard and taking on the role of the angel on Dirt's shoulder, constantly reminding him of the tremendous opportunity that he's given himself and to not blow it all. Talib brings up Deck's upcoming book 'From Pawn To King', being a manifesto of Deck's navigating the dirty waters of the record business, blindly "pushing across the board" as a pawn to eventually reaching kingship, finding peace within himself along the way. He also speaks on cancelling 'cancel culture' and taking up 'embracement culture', the type of energy he wants to put out into the world, and enjoying the anonymity of being widely respected but not often recognizable.

COVID-19 is about to get tag-teamed -- a second vaccine is on the way, and Moderna says this one has an even higher success rate than the first.

On the heels of Pfizer's announcement it has a coronavirus vaccine more than 90% effective in preventing COVID infections, Moderna's apparently one-upping it ... claiming to have one that boasts a 94.5% success rate.

The pharmaceutical giant released its early data Monday, which Dr. Anthony Fauci calls "as good as it gets."

Fauci says vaccinations could begin as early as the second half of December for high-risk groups, and be available for the rest of the public starting in late April.

Moderna's vaccine trial included 30,000 study participants -- 15k of which were given the vaccine, and 15k were given a saline placebo.

Among the placebo subjects, 90 of them developed COVID-19 over several months, and 11 of those patients got a severe case.

Among those given the vaccine, only 5 got COVID and none were severely ill. Moderna says its vaccine did not have any serious side effects, but a small percentage of people experienced symptoms such as body aches and headaches.

The incredibly high efficacy -- for Moderna and Pfizer's vaccines -- is great news ... the stock market is soaring. However, think about this ... a reported 30 percent of Americans don't trust a vaccine, and won't take it. So, it's plausible some people will pick their social circles based on who does get vaccinated. Just a thought.

Moderna plans on applying for FDA authorization later this month after more it gathers more safety data.

Benny the Butcher is the latest rapper to suffer a gunshot wound below the belt this week -- this time, it happened out in Houston during what sounds like an attempted robbery.

Houston PD tells TMZ ... the New York rapper was in town Saturday and visiting a local Walmart with a couple friends in tow. While they were in their car in the lot, we're told a car with 5 guys inside pulled up next to them and whipped out guns ... demanding their chains.

Apparently, Benny and co. were moving too slow for the alleged robbers' liking ... and cops say one of the 5 fired a round into Benny's leg, which caused the crooks to flee. We're told Benny and his friends booked it too, but eventually pulled over and called the police.

Benny was taken to a hospital for treatment -- his condition is unknown at this time. Cops say the men who attempted to rob him are also still at large, and an investigation is underway.

You'll recall ... Boosie was also shot in the leg in the Lone Star state just a few hours away that same day. Somewhat different circumstances there, but same result ... he was left with a bullet hole in his leg as well. We've heard Boosie's gonna be alright, however.

Rapper Mo3 was desperate to get away from his killers before he was gunned down on a Dallas freeway ... a chase that allegedly started the minute he'd left a friend's house.

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ ... the Dallas-based rapper left a female companion's house Wednesday morning and noticed he was being watched. It's unclear who the person tailing him was, but we're told they followed him in their vehicle from the home to a gas station.

Our sources say that's when Mo3 knew something was up, and jumped on I-35 in an attempt to lose the other vehicle. We're told he tried to get around traffic but ended up crashing on the side of the road.

That's when Mo3 got out of his car and ran for his life, before the trigger man gave chase and shot him in the back of the head. No one's been arrested for the deadly shooting, and police haven't identified a suspect yet.

TMZ broke the story ... Mo3 was shot and killed in his hometown where an innocent bystander was also shot and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Mo3 died at a hospital.

It's interesting ... fans are making an eerie connection between Mo3's death story and his 2017 "True Story" music video. It starts with him laying on a morgue's table and the coroner saying she was treating a "rapper who got shot in his own city."

Boosie Badazz has a bullet hole in his leg after coming under gunfire during a trip to Dallas ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Boosie was shot at in Dallas Saturday, after rolling through town in what we're told was a sprinter van near a strip mall called Big T's Plaza. Yesterday evening, he stopped by another venue to pay his respects to recently murdered Dallas rapper Mo3 -- who was a friend and collaborator of his.

At some point, somebody opened fire on the vehicle and one of the bullets struck Boosie in the leg. We're told the shooters booked it, and Boosie and co. made their way to a hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound below the knee.

Our Boosie sources say he is doing okay ... his injury seems to be non-life-threatening.

Someone posted video of the Big T parking lot where the action supposedly went down, claiming Boosie was NOT shot -- but we've been told otherwise ... Boosie is, in fact, a patient being treated for his wounds. According to this purported witness though, there were multiple vehicles involved -- at least three of them.

Dallas PD tells us ... officers responded to reports of an armed encounter Saturday, where the callers stated someone had been shot but then fled in a private vehicle. We're told when the cops showed up at the scene, there was nobody around and no signs of a crime being committed.

We should note, the shooting comes just days after rapper Mo3 was shot dead in the same city on a freeway. Word is Mo3 had been feuding with a fellow rapper, but it's unclear if there's any connection between that and his slaying.

Cops haven't arrested a suspect yet in Mo's death case quite yet. It's unclear if there is any connection between his fatal shooting and Boosie's incident.

Story developing ...

Jeremih is fighting for his life, battling COVID-19 -- he's currently hospitalized in the ICU and the prognosis is bleak ... sources tell TMZ.

Sources with direct knowledge tell us the R&B singer is being treated at a hospital for COVID-19. It's unclear how long he's been admitted, or how long he's had the virus ... but he is not doing well.

Word that he was seriously ill started percolating online Saturday -- with rappers like 50 Cent, Chance the Rapper, producer Hitmaka and others asking for prayers on Jeremih's behalf, but not necessarily saying what exactly was wrong with him at first.

Fifty was the only one who gave a bit more insight, claiming it was COVID-related -- while also saying Jeremih was hospitalized in his native city of Chicago.

50 wrote, "pray for my boy Jeremih he’s not doing good this covid s*** is real." He added, "he's in ICU in Chicago."

Chance also touched on the seriousness of the situation, writing ... "Please if you can take a second to pray for my friend Jeremih, he is like a brother to me and he’s ill right now. I believe in the healing power of Jesus so if you can for me please please say a prayer over him."

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ ... Jeremih is currently on a breathing ventilator within the ICU he's being treated at, and we're told his condition has recently gotten worse.

Video After The Jump

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he won’t let President Trump “bully” New Yorkers over the COVID-19 vaccine.

“That’s how this president operates. He bullies,” Cuomo said in a Saturday news briefing. “I’m going to tell the truth. I’m going to protect the people of the state and New Yorkers don’t back down to bullies.”

The latest salvo in the ongoing feud came after the president tweeted earlier that only states that use the vaccine immediately would get it.

Trump also proclaimed “I LOVE NEW YORK!”

“I love New York,” Cuomo countered. “If that’s what the president thinks then he just has an abusive personality. He has been hostile to New York from day one.”

Trump, in a Rose Garden press conference Friday, said New York wouldn’t get the vaccine because Cuomo has said he doesn’t trust it and wanted to evaluate it before distribution.

Cuomo again insisted yesterday a state-convened panel would immediately look at any vaccine and there would be no delay in getting it to New Yorkers.

“Send me a vaccine today, I will distribute it this afternoon,” he said.

Cuomo also suggested New York City should “seriously consider” looking at the rate of COVID-19 cases in individual schools rather than shutting down the whole system when the positivity rate hits 3 percent.

“Add to your calculus a positivity rate in the school, because if the school is not spreading the virus or if the school has a much lower positivity rate than the surrounding area, then the school is not part of the problem,” he said.

City officials said Saturday schools will remain open Monday after the citywide positivity rate, measured on a seven-day rolling average, dropped slightly on Friday.

Statewide, the number of positive results for 184,162 tests processed Friday was 2.57 percent, excluding hot zones, a decrease from 2.6 percent a day earlier. The positivity rate in hot zones stood at 4.83 percent.

There were 24 deaths, 1,788 people hospitalized and 5,388 new cases in the state on Friday.

Earl Thomas' wife is clearly done trying to make things work with the NFL star after the two were involved in that wild April incident ... TMZ Sports has learned she just filed for divorce.

According to court records, Nina Thomas put in the paperwork on Nov. 3 ... citing adultery as the grounds for ending the marriage.

Nina added in the docs that the couple has such a strained relationship ... there's zero "reasonable expectation of reconciliation."

It's interesting ... because Earl has seemed to put in a ton of effort to make things work since Nina was arrested for allegedly pointing a loaded gun at him back on April 13.

We broke the story, cops say Nina SNAPPED after she allegedly caught the former Baltimore Ravens safety cheating on her at a rented home in Austin, Texas.

Police say Nina busted in the home angrily ... and eventually held Earl at gunpoint.

Nina was ultimately arrested ... but shortly after the incident, Earl announced the two were trying to work through things.

And, it all seemed to be going smoothly ... he posted on social media several times the past few months praising her -- and even celebrated her birthday last month with a photo and a mushy "I love you" note.

But, Nina -- who married Earl in a well-publicized, extravagant wedding in April 2016 -- makes it clear in the docs ... she wants out.

The couple has three kids together ... and in the court filing, Nina is asking for Earl to only have limited access to the children until "he takes a parenting course and can show evidence that he is able to care for the children for an extended period of time."
