WASHINGTON (AP) — Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles told Congress through tears Wednesday that the FBI & gymnastics officials turned a “blind eye” to USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar’s sexual abuse of her & hundreds of other women.

Biles told the Senate Judiciary Committee that “enough is enough” as she & three other U.S. gymnasts spoke in stark emotional terms about the lasting toll Nassar’s crimes have taken on their lives.

“I blame Larry Nassar & I also blame an entire system that enabled & perpetrated his abuse,” Biles said. She said USA Gymnastics & the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee “knew that I was abused by their official team doctor long before I was ever made aware of their knowledge.”

Biles said a message needs to be sent: “If you allow a predator to harm children, the consequences will be swift and severe. Enough is enough.”

The hearing is part of a congressional effort to hold the FBI accountable after multiple missteps in investigating the case, including the delays that allowed the now-imprisoned Nassar to abuse other young gymnasts. An internal investigation by the Justice Department released in July said that the FBI made fundamental errors in the probe & did not treat the case with the “utmost seriousness” after USA Gymnastics first reported the allegations to the FBI’s field office in Indianapolis in 2015. The FBI has acknowledged its own conduct was inexcusable. At least 40 girls & women said they were molested after the FBI had been made aware of the problem.

McKayla Maroney, another gold medal winning gymnast, told senators that one night when she was 15 years old, she found the doctor on top of her while she was naked — one of many times she was abused.

“I think for so long all of us questioned, just because someone else wasn’t fully validating us, that we doubted what happened to us,” Maroney said. “And I think that makes the healing process take longer.”

Biles & Maroney were joined by Aly Raisman, another Olympic gold medalist & gymnast Maggie Nichols. Raisman said it “disgusts me” that they are still looking for answers six years after the original allegations against Nassar were reported.

Report via TMZ -- R. Kelly has been charged with 10 counts by the Cook County State's Attorney.

Prosecutors hit him with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse Friday morning. TMZ has learned 9 of the 10 counts involve alleged victims ranging in age from 13 to 16 years old. One of them is the subject of 4 different counts. There are a total of 4 alleged victims.

According to the complaint, the allegations include oral and vaginal sex with a girl between the ages of 13 and 17. The complaint says he "transmitted his semen onto [the alleged victim's] body for the purpose of Robert Kelly's or [the alleged victim's] sexual gratification or arousal, by the use of force or threat of force."

Sources connected to Kelly tell TMZ the singer plans to voluntarily turn himself in to authorities tonight. Still, prosecutors will reportedly appear before a judge today seeking an arrest warrant for him.

The criminal sexual abuse charge is a class 2 felony in Illinois, and each charge carries a max sentence of 3 to 7 years in prison.

A grand jury had convened about a week ago to investigate the alleged sex tape that Michael Avenatti handed over to authorities. TMZ broke the story ... 2 women testified for the grand jury over the last week, including one who provided physical evidence. We're told as many as a dozen women came forward to testify.

Sources connected to the case tell us the tape was a pivotal force leading to the charges. We're told that Avenatti and his client spent a significant amount of time with the Cook County State's Attorney and the grand jury in the last few weeks.

As we reported, Avenatti says he uncovered the VHS tape during a months-long investigation into allegations his clients made about Kelly having sex with minors. The tape reportedly shows Kelly having sex with a girl who seems to be 14 -- with both Kelly and the girl referring to her genitals and other body parts as being 14 years old.

The charges come directly on the heels of 2 other Kelly accusers coming forward with their attorney Gloria Allred. The women allege sexual misconduct by Kelly in a Baltimore hotel room in 1998 ... when they were both underage teens.

It's still unclear when the new alleged sex tape was shot, but Avenatti said he was sure it fell within the statute of limitations.

The family of Joycelyn Savage, one of Kelly's current girlfriends featured in "Surviving R. Kelly," is anxious to be reunited with her. Their attorney, Gerald Griggs, tells us they are waiting for him to be arrested so they can attempt to make contact with Joycelyn.

Video After The Jump

Ummmm .... Trick Daddy is an angry man.

During a recent Facebook Live session a female said something about what was written in his comment section. That was enough to set the "Shut Up" hit maker off.

"Tell that bitch I'm live too. Tell that bitch keep my name out your mouth bitch before I stick a pistol in your mouth, pussy ass hoe. You better keep my name out your motherfucking mouth. Pussy ass bitch," the rapper rants. "Fuck wrong with you, hoe? Don't make me come to your house, bitch. You better get on here and recant everything you said about me. I swear before Jesus ... bitch I will bust your head and your nigga head wide open!"

The 42-year old Miami native's tirade culminated with him spitting on his own phone, after telling the woman he would do the same in her face.

Video After The Jump (CBS) Girls fighting girls on tape is nothing new to the Internet. But, as CBS News Correspondent Jeff Glor reports, one video, of a particularly ugly fight, is grabbing lots of attention: The mother of one of the two teen battlers allegedly encouraged her daughter, and is facing criminal charges. The local sheriff says April Newcomb, 39, should instead have been trying to stop or prevent the fight, and she's been formally accused of child abuse.

The brutal brawl between 16-year-olds, in Palmetto, Fla., was apparently over a boy. Their names are being withheld due to their ages. Many in the cheering crowd came with cell phones, eager , Glor says, to post the video on the Web. Authorities say Newcomb can be seen in the background, and she can be heard trying to lend her daughter support. A spokesman for the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, Dave Bristow, said, "We're basically in shock (that) a parent can sit there and watch their child and not intervene. … It's pretty obvious this is child abuse." Police quote Newcomb as admitting in an interview that she was "wrong, and I understand where y'all are coming from. I think unfortunately it was going to happen no matter what." It appears Newcomb knew about the fight before it even began. She apparently can be seen walking to the scene with her daughter to confront the other girl. The fight lasted about three minutes.

If convicted, Newcomb faces up to five years in prison. She's free on $15,000 bail. Police say nobody was seriously hurt in the melee. Psychologist Dr. Jeff Gardere, a contributor to HealthGuru.com, told "Early Show" co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez Newcomb's alleged behavior was "criminal. It was atrocious. It was absolutely stupid. And I think, at this point, she realizes what she did was wrong. She got caught up in the moment. "Good parenting does not dictate that you egg your child on. You work with your child on and teach them conflict resolution skills. "And, I have to point out, she was afraid her daughter might get hurt in the back of the head, because she had a previous head injury, and … she (was) being hit with rabbit punches in the back of the head several times. So this is absolutely horrific. " … The parenting was non-existent here. We've seen this before, where parents get caught up; they're living vicariously through their children. So I guess she wants her daughter to win because, in her own way, she's helping her daughter with her self-esteem. But it's absolutely the wrong thing. Maybe she wants herself to win to say she's got a champion on her hands. But it is absolutely atrocious." He was also sharply critical of the girls' school, Palmetto High School, for failing to take action after the fight. Source: CBS twitter-5d.gif
