As she melds her pop music with performance pieces, Lady Gaga has managed to cultivate a sense of authority in art and fashion that goes beyond her enigmatic nebula of glamour and wigs. She did her best to maintain that authority, while also getting very personal, in an interview with the New York Times, fulfilling her new promotional duties for the M.A.C. AIDS fund and Viva Glam.

"It's hard knowing who to trust with your personal life," Lady Gaga revealed to fashion reporter Horacio Silva in a piece that will run in this weekend's T magazine. "When you cry in your room at night, you don't always know who to call. So I am very close to my family."

The singer also touched on betrayal and the need to move on from elements of her past life, including drug use. "I left [my past] behind because I had to," she said. "For many reasons, like drugs. It's no secret that I have had problems with drugs in the past. And some places represent to me things in terms of my mental and physical health, so you learn to move on, to preserve what your mission in life is, and my greater mission is my fans."

Lady Gaga has consistently used the concept of fame as a motif in her art and music. "I believe in the glamorous life and I live one," she said. However, the artist also expressed her distaste in "celebrities" and explained how she tries to challenge the paradigm of fame with her fans. "I think I have changed the way they look at and devour fame. It's something that tastes a little too sweet but is not so difficult to swallow."

After discussing her "spiritual guide," the interview highlighted another unique thing about Gaga: She refers to herself in the third person.

"I talk about myself in the third person all the time. I don't live my life in the way someone like you does," Lady Gaga explained. "I live my life completely serving only my work and my fans. And that way, I have to think about not what is best for my vagina but what is best for my fans and for me artistically."

Rihanna made her appearance at Germany's version of the Grammys, the 2010 Echo Awards a memorable one.

The 'Rated R' singer got her butt tickled by a Transformer during her performance of "Rude Boy"

She playfully teased the robots throughout and gyrated her hips while touching herself several times.

I must say, I enjoy her live shows.

Birdman Adds 2 More Star Tats To His Head

Last we reported about the launch of Birdman's energy/oil business Bronald, which he actually founded a few years back with his brother Slim.

To honor the company, the CEO/rapper tatted it's logo on the side of his head.

Then, just last month, major publications (Bloomberg being one) began to question the legitmacy of Bronald Oil & Gas, interviewing major energy companies in the areas Birdman was said to be doing biz. Come to find out, nobody ever heard of them, nor did it seem that any oil biz was actually being done, despite Birdman claiming that he's been making "good money off that."

Whatever the situation is, Birdman isn't repping Bronald Oil & Gas any longer ... well, at least, on the side of his head.

These pics popped up on the Internet recently, displaying some of Stunna's new tatts -- three new red stars on the right, left and back of his head to accompany the one he already had on top.

On Thursday, we told you that Young Jeezy's longtime collaborator Shawty Redd will definitely be on Thug Motivation 103, due in June.

Redd has been entangled in a potentially life- and career-altering legal battle since he was arrested on New Year's Day for murder. Jeezy told MTV News he would never turn his back on his friend.

"I worked with Shawty more so on the album before he went in," said Jeezy, who revealed one song they have on the album called "Let Me Handle My Business." "Like I said, that's my little brother, so it kinda hit close to home [when he was arrested]. I definitely would have wanted homie for this [Trap or Die 2 mixtape], but it was good. We did the work we did and got in for the album."

Young said Shawty not being able to travel with him feels weird.

"It feels a little different, but I got us," the Snowman said. "I had us before; I got him now. He's not able to be here with us through the duration, but he's here with us in spirit. Better believe he's calling every day, like, 'What's going on? How we lookin'?' I'm talking to him or his people. He's good. Shawty is holding his head.

"He's always been a strong little dude," Jeezy added. "He's like my little brother. I kinda raised Shawty. I kinda brought him around that type of mentality. He wasn't a street dude off go. So whatever happened, that's not for me or you to speak on. But as far as him being my little brother, he's always gonna be in my prayers, and I'mma ride with him. He's incredible with what he do. He's like my Dr. Dre. I couldn't do a Thug Motivation album without Shawty Redd. So best believe, know, he's on that album. Real talk."

Don't Sleep: Necessary Notables

Mixtape: Snoop Dogg Presents: We Da West Volume One

Headliners: Snoop Dogg, DJ Whoo Kid and DJ Skee

Co-Stars: Nipsey Hussle, Kurupt, Tha Twinz, Soopafly, Katt Williams, Jay-Z and Ludacris

Essential Info: Snoop Dogg said his coast still needs to unify and the artists have to be leaders.

"All I just want is the n---as out here to see if you make good music and we are one, they're gonna get onboard and they gonna give you what you deserve," Snoop explained to DJ Whoo Kid, who hosts the tape with DJ Skee. "You gonna get your radio play, your spins. But if you ain't organized, n---as can come out here and pick and choose. They can take Nipsey, put Nipsey on a remix. Put Kurupt on a remix. They can never pick all of us and say, 'You all go on a mission. The West Fest Tour. All West Coast n---as go on tour.' "

Tha Dogg said his latest mixtape is the first of many to showcase up-and-coming talent.

"Volume One is just me bringing awareness to the artists. I have a vehicle to put their sh-- out, through people such as yourself," he told Whoo Kidd. "After this sh-- comes out, n---as need to be running to the studio. Now you can be heard and seen. Even if a n---a only hears your record once or twice, you in a new system. You not just local no more. You not just in your neighborhood. You in a world system now."

Last year, Snoop dropped his I Wanna Rock mixtape, and he said it was better than Malice N Wonderland because it was uncut.

"That sh-- was banging harder than my album, 'cause the mixtape, we don't have to make records to release to the radio," he said. "My label looking at me: 'We need a couple of songs for pop. We wanna go top 40.' Then I call these radio stations: 'Snoop Dogg, you're working on a new album. When is your album coming out?' Mutha----a, my album is out, n---a! 'Your single "Gangsta Love" is top 40.' N---a, I'm on the next single, 'I Wanna Rock.' Some gangsta sh--.

"It's so square, man," he said about working with the top 40 stations. "I'm so far in my career, I'm at the pinnacle. It's a mode I have to go to. I don't knock that, but I knock it when they say you have to do that to be successful."

Speaking out for the first time since she was accused of bashing her driver, Naomi Campbell insisted Thursday that she treats "everyone with respect."

"I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings and I will not be held hostage to my past," Campbell, the short-fused supermodel with a history of hitting the help, said in a statement.

Campbell broke her silence after the driver, Miodrag Mejdina, apologized for calling the cops on her.

"I am pleased the driver has apologized," Campbell wrote. "I would like to put the last few days behind me and move on."

Campbell did not say whether she was guilty of "unacceptable behavior," only that she'd been accused.

Her statement came a couple hours after Miodrag's lawyer issued a statement in which the driver blamed himself for the "misunderstanding."

"I had an argument with Naomi Campbell. I got angry and overreacted," Mejdina wrote. "I regret involving the police. This whole thing has been blown out of proportion and I apologize to Ms. Campbell for causing that to happen."

Mejdina called 911 on Tuesday and told cops the supermodel had whacked him while he was driving in Midtown and then fled on foot.

He withdrew the complaint the same day and cops halted their hunt for the temperamental catwalker - who has two previous convictions for similar incidents

LAS VEGAS - Boxer James Toney is taking a crack at mixed martial arts, signing a multifight deal with UFC.

The 41-year-old Toney is a former super middleweight and cruiserweight champion who fought Roy Jones Jr., Evander Holyfield, John Ruiz and Hasim Rahman. But he hasn't had a significant title shot since March 2006, and he also tested positive for steroids twice.

UFC president Dana White believes Toney has the proper attitude to succeed in a crossover to MMA.

Toney isn't the first athlete to try the move. Herschel Walker won his MMA debut for Strikeforce on Jan. 30, and former boxer Ricardo Mayorga will make his MMA debut May 15 for a small Florida-based promotion.

The UFC hasn't determined the date or opponent for Toney's MMA debut.

(AllHipHop News) The GS Boyz, creators of the hit single “Stanky Leg,” have dropped three members and the pair, Prince and Soufside, are releasing new material.

They are currently working on new material and recently shot a video for the song “Any Way” ft Ebony Blaque.

While it is unclear if the can still legally use the name GS Boyz, the remaining group members did have some comments about the former members’ work ethic, or alleged lack there of.

Formerly the GS Boys,” Soufside told AllHipHop.com. “It was because the other three, they didn’t want to grind any more.” “We just had different visions,” added group member Prince. “My bro a star and we all stars, but I guess it was more hate basically, and I ain’t the type of dude to hate on somebody. I just decided we just got to do what we got to do. Either you gonna rock with us or your not.”

While the “Stanky Leg” was a nationwide fad last year and was one of the most popular songs that has come out of the “boogie” movement in Dallas, the track earned The GS Boys a gold record.

The group, which was signed to Yung Joc’s Swagg Team label, also followed up with the minor hit, “Booty Dew.

According to the remaining group members, their newest song is more geared towards females and the streets.

“’Stanky Leg’ was one of our songs that just blew,” Prince told AllHipHop.com. “So the Lord’s giving us a chance to do something again and now we got something for the listeners.

Sean Garrett Raises the Bar for Drake

Rap-UpNews

“I think he’s going to make his fans really happy,” Sean Garrett says about one of the most anticipated albums of the year. Thesinger-songwriter is of course speaking about Drake’s debut Thank MeLater.

Garrett reveals to Rap-Up.com that he has been in the studio with hip-hop’s breakout star. “I’m working on some stuff for his album,” heshares. “I heard some shit and it’s hot as fuck.”

With such great expectations for the spring release, how did “The Pen” approach the project? “When you’re dealing with somebody like him,you wanna come hard, you wanna come so ridiculous, you wanna come in adirection that no one, including him, had any idea that you would come,”he explains. “It makes it really difficult. There’s only so far youcan go with your résumé sometimes. It’s all about what you did today,so you’re always trying to outdo yourself.”

S. Dot is making sure the “Best I Ever Had” MC only gets his best. “At this point it’s just about coming up with that masterful record thatI will probably keep for myself but I’mma give it to him. It’s gottabe hot enough for me to say, ‘Damn, should I give this away?’”

Drizzy knows when to have fun, but when he’s in the lab, he’s all about his business. “He tends to like to have fun. He’s enjoying themoment. When he’s out, he’s always smiling and happy, and real giddyabout meeting the fans—just being a real people’s person. But when he’sin the studio, he seems to be very, very focused on what it is he’strying to accomplish.”

The first collaboration between the two will be an upcoming single from Garrett’s U.S. debut. “It’s a mid-tempo and it’s about love,” hesays of the track. “We both like to talk about love in our ownparticular way, and that’s the reason why I felt like he was perfect forthat record. I think a lot of ladies are gonna love this record.”

LOS ANGELES -- The frantic ferocity of Manny Pacquiao's training camps at the stuffy Wild Card Gym clearly indicate he feels every fight could be his last.

This time around, Pacquiao knows he really might be done with boxing -- for a while at least.

Pacquiao is training in Hollywood for his March 13 fight against Joshua Clottey at Cowboys Stadium while simultaneously running for a congressional seat in his native Philippines. It's the latest move in his exhaustive quest apparently to become all things to all people in a homeland that already has embraced him as a boxing champion, a commercial pitchman, a movie star, a singer and its most famous person.

But if he beats Clottey on March 13 and then gets elected eight weeks later, as many expect, how can he balance a burgeoning political career with the months of intense training necessary for a former flyweight to survive bigger opponents such as Miguel Cotto, Oscar De La Hoya and Clottey?

"I don't know, but I can still fight," the 31-year-old Pacquiao said Wednesday while getting his hands wrapped in a cramped back room. "Boxing is different than politics. Politics is more in service. ... I want to be a good public servant. I want to help people."

Promoter Bob Arum understands the lure of public service after working as a lawyer in the Justice Department during the Kennedy administration, but Pacquiao's determination to join Congress at the height of his athletic career is perplexing to the man who shepherded Pacquiao from obscurity.

"I can't figure it out," Arum said. "I tried very lightly to dissuade him this time. I know people around him have tried also. He's determined to do it."

If Pacquiao is elected this spring after his bout in Dallas, trainer Freddie Roach and Arum have come to terms with the possibility that the combination of Pacquiao's political responsibilities and his struggle to land a megafight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. could keep him out of the ring for a while -- perhaps permanently.

"It could be our last fight, sure," Roach said. "I don't think it will, but it could definitely work out that way."

Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KOs), generally considered the world's top pound-for-pound fighter, will meet Clottey (35-3, 21 KOs) at Cowboys Stadium in front of a huge crowd lured by Pacquiao's star power and reasonably priced tickets -- a bonus that particularly appeals to Pacquiao, who rose from abject poverty to the pinnacle of his sport.

Arum said Pacquiao feels deeply compelled to give back to his country for his good fortune. Even after giving away millions of his boxing winnings to charities, family, friends and strangers who stand outside his house in the Philippines waiting days to catch a glimpse of him, he seems to believe the best way is through elected office -- even if many of his Filipino fans apparently disagree.

He failed in an attempt to win a congressional seat in May 2007, losing by a lopsided margin. His latest run, which will be decided in the Philippines' general election on May 10, has a much better chance of succeeding, according to Arum and political observers.

"He's lived in the U.S., and he's seen how people live here, and the relative affluence here," Arum said. "As a caring individual, that has to upset him. He genuinely wants to make a difference in those people's lives, and I guess he thinks politics is how to do that."

Roach has risen along with Pacquiao to the top of his profession, but he would rather see his greatest fighter leave at his apex than on a decline. Roach also realizes a fighter of Pacquiao's stature has little to gain beyond money, unless he finds an opponent worthy of his skills.

"I did have a discussion with Manny about it," Roach said over the shouts of his brother, Pepper, ordering somebody to move a car that's blocking a spot in the Wild Card's minuscule parking lot. "We didn't come up with an answer. It's more about the opponents. If Mayweather beats (Sugar Shane) Mosley and then won't fight Manny, who else is there? (A third fight with) Juan Manuel Marquez? Maybe Edwin Valero? People really want to see Manny-Mayweather."

Mayweather and Pacquiao have tried to avoid talking about each other while preparing for their respective spring bouts, but the fight still is the favorite topic in every boxing conversation. Their negotiations fell apart over Mayweather's insistence on extra-stringent drug testing, a stance interpreted by Arum and others as a reluctance to take on Pacquiao.

Roach still wants to see the fight come together later this year. Indeed, Arum agrees Congressman Pacquiao still would be able to train, noting the Filipino legislative body meets in July and adjourns until the end of the year.

"If he gets elected, I'm sure he'll still get time off for training camp," Roach said. "The government shuts down when he fights anyway. The terrorists call a treaty and stop fighting. I think I could get him away for eight weeks."

T.I. Seventh studio album and prison release

T.I. Out of Prison and Back to Work

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., was released from Forrest City Federal Correctional Complex in Arkansas Dec. 22.2009 and has already headed back into the studio to work. Although T.I. isn’t completely free…he was released to a halfway house close to his home in Atlanta. He will spend the next 366 days of his sentence at Dismas Charities Atlanta West, where he is allowed to leave the facility during daytime hours to work.

Music exec Kevin Liles posted a message on his Twitter page stating that new T.I. music will soon be on the way. “My right hand (T.I.) went home to visit family& found his way to the studio. He said, ‘Why wait for 2010, get it in now.’ Love the attitude.”

That seems pretty lenient that he is also allowed to swing in to see family when he is under ‘house arrest’. He will have 500 hours of community service to complete when he is sprung in another year.

We can’t wait to hear the rappers new song, which will likely reflect his time spent behind bar.

On March 26, 2010, T.I. will be released from the halfway house. He is also currently in the studio working on his seventh studio album. It is yet to be titled.
