NEW YORK — A court spokesman says rap star Lil Wayne's sentencing in a New York City gun case has been postponed because of a courthouse fire.

The rapper had been expected to start a one-year jail term after sentencing Tuesday. He pleaded guilty in October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon.

Courts spokesman David Bookstaver said the sentencing was among proceedings canceled due a basement fire at a Lower Manhattan courthouse.

The 27-year-old rapper entered his plea in October. He admitted having a loaded gun on his tour bus in July 2007.

He has become one of rap's biggest names and music's biggest sellers in recent years.

(AllHipHop News) A promotional billboard for Atlanta rapper T.I.’s AKOO clothing brand has encountered less than positive reactionamong residents in Newark, New Jersey.

The billboard, which is prominently displayed on the corner ofMarket and Washington Streets, features a woman knelt down in front of a
guy whose jeans are unbuckled with his underwear exposed and the
woman’s hands grabbing his jeans.

Those noticing theadvertisement did not hesitate in expressing their disdain as they
deemed it “offensive.”

Founded by T.I. and fellow Grand Hustle Entertainment co-founderJason Geter, AKOO offers various types of clothing that include blue
jeans, jackets and shirts.

The clothing brand’s name is anacronym that stands for A King of One’s Self.

Newark major CoryBooker echoed the concerns of onlookers over the suggestive
advertisement while vowing to take a stand against questionable images
that are present in his city.

“So often when I am out in the community I see kids wearingtheir pants too low and others using inappropriate language in public,”
Booker said in a statement. “I will work with my city council to see if
we can address it so we don’t see these types of advertisements
displayed in our city in the near future.”

News of the controversy triggered an immediate reaction fromAKOO, which issued a statement on the controversy and criticism
surrounding the billboard.

“The AKOO brand has always aimed to inspire individualism andcreativity. Our advertising campaign was not created to offend or insult
anyone but to simply provoke dialogue and thought regarding male/female
sexuality within urban culture,” the company said as it alluded to
exposing more sides of the brand in future promotions.

“We hopethat as more of the campaign is debuted, people will see the
multifaceted personality of AKOO.”

Despite AKOO’s statement, the company attempt was not enough tosay Newark City Council President Mildred Crump, who feels the AKOO
billboard is an example of a lack of regard over the impact of images
that paint a negative picture of the city.

“I’m so sick of people seeing Newark as a place where they cando whatever they want,” she said. “They think they can put it in a Black
community and nobody is going to say or do anything,”

LeBron James could reportedly have a new number next season, but Cleveland Cavaliers fans hope the words remain the same.

James filed paperwork to switch from No. 23 to No. 6, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported on Monday. He beat a Wednesday deadline to make the request.

The All-Star said in November that he was thinking of giving up 23 out of respect for his hero Michael Jordan, but at that time he was "50-50," according to the newspaper.

"I've done it," James told the Plain Dealer. "I already sent it in. I'm going to be No. 6."

Six is James' jersey number on the Olympic team, but the NBA does not have to grant his request. If James switches teams, he can choose any number he wishes. The change only applies if he stays with the Cavaliers.

James will be part of the vaunted 2010 free-agent class that includes Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. While Bulls fans would like to see him try to make No. 6 as legendary as No. 23 in Chicago, New York has also maneuvered to have enough cap space to sign James.

Cleveland can sign James to a longer, more lucrative deal, however.

For the effort, the rapper has already said he wants Jay-Z and Eminem onboard. So far, he's been in the studio with Kanye West, and Soulja said 'Ye was impressed with his upgraded material.

"When I was in the studio, I played him a couple of joints, and then he just said, 'Damn, he's really starting to go hard,' " Soulja Boy told MTV News on the red carpet of BET's "Rip the Runway." "And I was like, 'Yeah, you feel me?' ... Out of all the artists to get the go-ahead or the co-sign from, it was Kanye."

Recently, Soulja Boy and West have been collaborating on material for 'Ye's next album. West requested the teen sensation to help produce tracks for him.

Legendary Bay Area rapper E-40 spoke to All Out Radio recently about the events that almost led up to Notorious B.I.G. being killed in Sacramento, California during their beef.

Although the story has floated around for a while, this is the first time E-40 has gone into detail about the incident.

As the story goes, Biggie had dissed E-40 to a Canadian journalist rating his mic skills as a zero, also adding that he hated him. When Big went out to Sac-Town to do a show, E-40's boys caught up to him in the parking lot and pulled pistols ready to kill the Black Frank White.

The situation wasn't resolved until a phone call was arranged between Big and 40 to squash the beef before it turned deadly.

(AllHipHop News) Floyd Mayweather and Sugar Shane Mosley will hit the Nasdaq tomorrow (March 2), where the two rivals will unite to ring the opening bell to promote their May 1st boxing match in Las Vegas.

The event is part of a tour the two boxers are on to promote their highly anticipated bout two months from today.

Mayweather recently checked in with AllHipHop.com, where he discussed a number of topics, ranging from the failed match with Manny Pacquiao, his decision to take on Sugar Shane Mosley and his former Hip-Hop rival with rapper Rick Ross.

Mayweather trashed Manny Pacquiao during the interview for not taking a “$25 million dollar” random blood, urine and drug tests.

I felt that in today’s time, there’s too much cheating going on in all sports, I’m’ not just making a stand in boxing, I’m making a stand in all sports. It’s about being fair,” Mayweather told AllHipHop.com. “We got athletes that live in our own country that lie to American citizens about taking certain enhancing drugs. Manny is not even from this country, he doesn’t’ in this country. Imagine what he would tell the American people.”

Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs) , who has one seven out of his last eight fights, had no issues with taking the tests and has agreed to the Olympic-style random blood testing.

During the interview with AllHipHop.com, Mayweather shot down Mosley’s comments that he was “stronger, faster and better” than Mayweather.

“I wouldn’t have chose the fight with Shane if it wasn’t a good fight, a solid fight. But I’m an A-lister, and Shane Mosely is a C-lister,” Mayweather told AllHipHop.com. “But when you involve yourself with the Mayweather brand, it takes you to the next level in the sport of boxing."

Outside of the ring, Mayweather and rapper Rick Ross squashed their growing feud, although the boxing champion took issue with Sean “Diddy” Combs’ proclamation that rapper Rick Ross was the next “Biggie Smalls.”

Ross, who is featured on Diddy and Dirty Money’s remix to “Angels,” has had a well documented feud with rapper 50 Cent, in addition to Floyd Mayweather.

The pair buried the hatchet last month, after a New Year’s celebration almost turned violent when their respective entourages clashed at a party hosted by Diddy at new nightclub, Vanity inside of the Hard Rock Hotel.

I hear lately that Puff Daddy has been saying Rick Ross is the next Biggie Smalls. That’s not true," Mayweather told AllHipHop.com. "He’s a good artist but he’s not the next Biggie Smalls. There’s only one Biggie and there’s only one Pac. The thing is this, rap is story telling. It’s not true. If somebody had those many guns, done that much killing or sold that much work or hustled that much, or course they would be in prison."

Mayweather admitted that Rick Ross is a good Hip-Hop artist, but stated that he has no plans on supporting the rapper's releases.

"A lot of times people think I’ma downplay somebody because we may not get along or we may not see eye to eye," Mayweather told AllHipHop.com. "He’s had songs that’s been cool. I’m not saying that I’m a fan or I’m gonna go buy his album. The only thing I can say is Floyd Mayweather is in his lane. I stay in my lane and I want everyone else to stay in their lane. Period.

Mayweather and Mosley will hit the road to promote their May 1st boxing match starting tomorrow (March 2nd) in New York.

Dates are listed below:

Tuesday, March 2: Nokia Theatre, Times Square, New York City
Wednesday, March 3: The Lincoln Theatre, Washington, D.C.
Thursday, March 4: Nokia Plaza's L.A. Live, Los Angeles

(AllHipHop News) Wu-Tang veteran Method Man has issued an apology to Waka Flocka regarding their differing opinions on the value oflyrics in today’s Hip-Hop.

In an previous appearance on Shade 45’s All Out Show withRaekwon and Ghostace Killah, Method Man spoke on his disdain for subpar
lyrics in Hip-Hop music, specifically pointing out Waka Flocka after the
hosts made him aware that the Atlanta rapper stated intricate lyricism
is not needed in today’s climate.

“He has the right to his opinion. But the people that are in theknow and know what time it is, know that if you ain’t saying s**tout
your mouth, your time is very slim in this motherfucking game, b.”

Waka Flocka responded in an exclusive AllHipHop.com interviewthat he wouldn’t disrespect Method Man, and expressed disappointment an
artist he looked up to would attack him.

“I feel like he disrespected his own kid. I listened to you, Iseen you start, buddy. I seen you in the bus, hanging on the bars, I was
digging that with the one eye [in the “Bring the Pain” video.],” Flocka
explained. “They called Down South music pop, but Onyx wasn’t doing
crunk music to you, honest opinion? Wu-Tang was crunk music, crunk
aggressive music. Hip-Hop is supposed to have different angles.”

that man to feel any type of way about that man….Anybody trying to eat
legally and get their money the way I try to get mines, and ain’t never
gonna knock them, man. That’s the last time I say anything about any
fu**ing emcee or what they do. I’m going to keep my business to myself.”

“I appreciate that that man took the high road, I respect thatman for that because I was way out of context. I can honestly say that
because I didn’t know where the information came from, or how it was
stated. But from the input that I got, his s**twas taken out of context
when he made that statement.”

Ne-Yo ran into a little bit of trouble over the weekend in Oslo, Norway.

According to various reports, Ne-Yo and his crew were having dinner at Emil & Samuel following a concert. The group was having a good time drinking and partying when a patron at the restaurant grabbed a female in the entourage.

That's when things spiraled out of control. A bus boy somehow also became involved after walking over. He was allegedly knocked unconscious after being punched in the face by an unknown person in the crew.

Ne-Yo did not throw a punch or get involved in the scuffle.

After leaving the restaurant, Ne-yo and his associates were detained and searched by Oslo police.

"All in all this is an unfortunate situation involving the artist, Emil & Samuel and the concert management," said the owner of Emil & Samuel.

Expect a lawsuit or two to pop up in the near future.
