Washington (CNN) After violent pro-Trump protesters stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday, a growing number of Republican leaders and Cabinet officials told CNN that they believe Donald Trump should be removed from office before January 20. 4 of them called for the 25th Amendment to be invoked & 2 others said the President should be impeached.

"He has to be impeached & removed," said one current Republican elected official.

A former senior official said the President's actions were egregious enough to remove him even with such a short time left in his tenure.

"I think this has been a huge shock to the system," said the former official. "How do you keep him in place for two weeks after this?"

By impeaching & removing Trump, even at this late stage of his term, the Senate could subsequently vote to disqualify Trump from ever holding federal office again. On the other hand, invoking the 25th Amendment would require VP Mike Pence & a majority of the Cabinet to vote to remove Trump from office due to his inability to "discharge the powers & duties of his office."

Some Cabinet members are holding preliminary discussions about invoking the 25th Amendment, a well-placed GOP source told CNN.

The forceful denunciations of Trump are also unprecedented.

Mitt Romney, the Utah senator who was the only Republican to vote to convict the President on an article of impeachment last year called the President a "selfish man" who "deliberately misinformed his supporters" about the election.

Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, a member of the House leadership, told Fox News: "There is no question that the President formed the mob. The President incited mob, the President addressed the mob. He lit the flame."

Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois dismissed Trump's Wednesday afternoon tweet asking rioters at the Capitol to "remain peaceful."

"That's cowardice," Kinzinger told Tapper. "He needs to stand up & say, I lost the election."

"They need to invoke the 25th Amendment immediately," said 1 Republican activist. #trump #donaldtrump #presidenttrump #25thamendment #impeach #impeachment #republicans #enoughisenough #gonetoofar #riot #uscapitol #mikepence #georgewbush #mittromney #trumpsupporters #thugs #anarchy #sedition #insurrection #mobrule

(CNN) Supporters of President Donald Trump have breached the US Capitol as lawmakers attempted to count the Electoral College votes certifying President-elect Joe Biden's win, and an armed standoff is taking place outside the House of Representatives.

Shortly after 1 p.m. ET hundreds of pro-Trump protesters pushed through barriers set up along the perimeter of the Capitol, where they tussled with officers in full riot gear, some calling the officers "traitors" for doing their jobs. About 90 minutes later, police said demonstrators got into the building and the doors to the House and Senate were being locked. Shortly after, the House floor was evacuated by police.

An armed standoff was taking place at the House front door as of 3 p.m. ET, and police officers had their guns drawn at someone who is trying to breach it. A Trump supporter was also pictured standing at the Senate dais.

Vice President Mike Pence was also evacuated from Capitol, where he was to perform his role in the counting of electoral votes.

Video from inside the Capitol showed Trump supporters marching through Statuary Hall. The US Capitol Police is asking for additional law enforcement for assistance, including federal authorities, per a source familiar.

The source says there are several suspicious devices outside the Capitol building.

The Capitol police officer in the House chamber told lawmakers that they may need to duck under their chairs and informed lawmakers that protesters were in the building's Rotunda.

The protesters have breached exterior security barriers, and video footage shows protesters gathering and some clashing with police near the Capitol building. #trumpsupporters #coup #insurrection #uscapitol #thugs #mob #donaldtrump #tedcruz #republicans #anarchy #chaos #proudboys #violence #lies #lied #rudygiuliani #disenfranchised #lockthemallup #lockhimup #senators #washingtondc #sedition #domesticterrorists #extremists #siege

The Louisville Metro Police Department fired two officers involved in the botched raid that resulted in Breonna Taylor's death and, in part, launched a summer of protests, authorities said.

Detectives Joshua Jaynes and Myles Cosgrove learned last week that the department intended to fire them, and those terminations became official on Tuesday, according to a letter from Louisville Metro Police Department Chief Yvette Gentry to the officers.

Cosgrove violated standard operating procedures for deadly force and failure to activate his body-worn camera, the chief said.

Jaynes was was fired for two departmental violations tied to his work securing the search warrant for the deadly March 13 raid, according to Gentry.

Taylor, who had no criminal record, was with boyfriend Kenneth Walker when plainclothes officers entered her apartment in the early morning hours to serve a no-knock search warrant in a drug case.

Walker, who had a license to carry a weapon, called 911 believing the home was being invaded by criminals and opened fire, wounding one of the officers in the leg.

That's when police returned fire, and Taylor was killed. Cosgrove fired the shot that killed Taylor, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron said in September.

Jaynes was not at Taylor's apartment when gunfire erupted, but hours earlier he secured the search warrant that led to the deadly confrontation.

Marcelo Velez, 56, was arrested at his home in Woodcliff Lake, and charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault by sexual contact and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, according to the prosecutor's office.

CNN was unable to immediately identify an attorney for Velez.

The joint investigation between the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and the Woodcliff Lake Police Department began after local police received the allegations on January 3, according to a news release from the prosecutor's office.

Velez is listed as the current vice president for Columbia University's Manhattanville Development on the university's website.

"We have placed Mr. Velez on administrative leave and will cooperate fully with law enforcement officials investigating this matter," a Columbia University spokesperson told CNN.

(CNN) Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West are figuring out their future and whether they are going to stay married, according to two sources close to Kardashian West who spoke to CNN.

The sources confirmed that West has been living at their home in Wyoming in recent months, while his wife stayed in California with their children.

"They have been living separately for the last few months," a friend of Kardashian West told CNN but requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation. "They have been in marriage counseling and have discussed divorce, it's on the table."

"Divorce is something that has been discussed off and on for the past year but Kim has not wanted to move forward on that," the second source said. "There is no drama or contentious relationship" the individual added, they are "amicable" and "fully aligned when it comes to the kids."

Reports claimed that Kardashian West has also hired divorce attorney Laura Wasser. However, CNN has learned that while Kardashian West is consulting with her, the high-profile attorney has been on retainer for years. Wasser represented Kardashian West in her divorce from now retired NBA player Kris Humphries which was finalized in 2013. Kardashian West was also previously married to music producer Damon Thomas. Kanye West was previously engaged to designer Alex Phifer.

The two stars, who married in a lavish wedding in Italy in 2014, are the parents of four children. #kimkardashian #kimkardashianwest #kanyewest #kanyewestandkimkardashiandivorce #kimkardashianandkanyewestdivorce #husbandandwife #marriedwithchildren #parents #kids #children #divorce #roughpatch #relationshipproblems #divorcelawyer #jayz #beyonce #kyliejenner #krisjenner #kendalljenner #khloekardashian #marriage #mom #dad #mother #father

"I know y'all scared and sh*t, but let's just make the fight happen for the fans. Let's just do that. Don't overprice yourselves. If y'all believe y'all the best and y'all think that y'all can take this, then let's make the fight happen! Man, don't be p***y about it!"

That's 23-year-old boxing champ Teofimo Lopez throwing down the gauntlet to rivals Ryan Garcia, Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney ... 3 of the sport's youngest, most-talented stars.

TMZ Sports talked to the undefeated, lightweight champ about his next move ... as he plots his return just months after dethroning pound-for-pound king, Vasyl Lomachenko.

"Our goal is to shoot for three fights this year whether it's my mandatory [boxer George Kambosos], Garcia, Haney, Tank Davis, those guys at 135 lbs., that's where our goal is."

22-year-old Garcia (21-0, 18 KO's) beat Olympic gold medalist Luke Campbell Saturday night ... and then demanded a fight with 26-year-old Davis (21-0, 20 KO's), telling us he'll knock out Tank inside 2 rounds.

Why isn't anyone calling out Lopez?? Teo says it's fear.

"It's because they're scared! It's really what it comes down to. They're scared."

Unbeaten Tank Davis, scared?

"Yeah, he is [scared]. He is. He's not scared of the opposition he's facing right now because it's light work. I mean he knocked out a 122 pounder [Leo Santa Cruz]. C'mon yo! I can do the same sh*t and I can do it better, in a better fashion," Teofimo says.

"But hey, I take my hat off to [Davis], he's doing his thing and I congratulate all of them. Haney, Garcia, Tank. But, when it comes to it man, I'm the king of the division. I'm the kingpin!"

Dr. Dre is at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a brain aneurysm ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to Dre and with direct knowledge tell us, Dre suffered the aneurysm Monday and was rushed by ambulance to Cedars and was taken directly to ICU, where he remains Tuesday.

Our sources say the 55-year-old music mogul is stable and lucid, but doctors don't know what caused the bleeding and they are doing a battery of tests.

As you know, Dre is in the middle of a very contentious divorce with his estranged wife Nicole. As we reported, Nicole wants $2 million a month in temporary spousal support and $5 million for attorney fees, but Dre says he's been paying all of her expenses so the $2 mil demand was outlandish. He also says the attorney's fees are outrageous since her lawyers have only been working on the case for a few months.

And, as we reported, Nicole wants a judge to reject the prenuptial agreement she signed in 1996, claiming Dre ripped it up early on in the marriage. Dre strongly denies that.

There's a hearing Wednesday in downtown L.A. on both issues. Obviously, Dre will not be attending and we're assuming the judge will continue the matter.

**UPDATE** Dre just posted a message thanking everyone for their love and support, saying, "Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I'm doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!"

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley announced Tuesday that he will not file criminal charges against a white police officer who shot a Black man in the back in Kenosha last summer, leaving him paralyzed and setting off sometimes violent protests in the city.

Officer Rusten Sheskey’s shooting of Jacob Blake on Aug. 23, captured on bystander video, turned the nation’s spotlight on Wisconsin during a summer marked by protests over police brutality & racism. More than 250 people were arrested in the days that followed, including 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, a self-styled medic with an assault rifle who is charged in the fatal shootings of two men & the wounding of a third.

The Blake shooting happened 3 months after George Floyd died while being restrained by cops in Minneapolis, a death that was captured on bystander video & sparked outrage & protests that spread across the United States and beyond. The galvanized Black Lives Matter movement put a spotlight on inequitable policing.

Sheskey was among officers responding to a woman who had reported her boyfriend was not supposed to be around. Cellphone video shows Blake walking to the driver-side door of an SUV as officers follow him with guns drawn, shouting. As Blake opens the door & leans into the SUV, Sheskey grabs his shirt from behind & opens fire.

The Kenosha police union said Blake was armed with a knife, & Sheskey ordered him several times to drop it but he would not. Sheskey’s attorney, Brendan Matthews, said Sheskey fired because Blake started turning toward the officer while holding a knife.

State investigators had said only that officers saw a knife on the floor of the SUV & hadn’t said whether Blake threatened anyone with it. The officers were not equipped with body cameras. #jacobblake #justiceforjacobblake #shotintheback #paralyzed #killercops #policethepolice #rustenshesky #cops #police #kylerittehouse #kenosha #wisconsin #protests #georgefloyd #breonnataylor #excessiveforce #attemptedmurder #jacobblakeshooting #jacobblakeshootingnocharges #rustensheskynotcharged #africanamerican #blackman #whitecop

Boosie Badazz has lost his voting booth virginity -- the rapper's voting for the first time in his life ... and he's so determined, he wouldn't let his gunshot injuries stop him.

The wheelchair-bound rapper rolled up to a Fulton County, GA polling place Tuesday to make his voice heard in that state's crucial Senatorial runoff election -- and he was singing a tune about change as he did it.

Boosie says he's been paying close attention to the campaign and explains why he's casting his ballot for Rev. Raphael Warnock, the Democrat going up against Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler. It's a big election ... as it will determine which party controls the Senate.

As you know ... Boosie's in a wheelchair because he suffered some gruesome leg injuries when he was shot last year in Dallas.

He says if he can vote for the first time, from a wheelchair no less, every eligible voter in Georgia needs to get to the polls.

Seems like Boosie's message is being heard loud and clear ... folks are lined up at polling places across Georgia for what appears to be another massive voter turnout.

Boosie might be having the most fun voting out of all.

It's been roughly 2 years since Anima Vestra has given the game some new music. And it is built like an emotional roller coaster. Creative and compiled of different sounds and styles, it is immediately clear that A.V. is very creative in his art....and in a lane all his own.

"Cerasus Flores" is a 6 track showcasing of raw undeniable talent. Latin for "Cherry Blossom", Cerasus Flores buds beautifully, then comes to soul touching end of appreciation...much like life itself does. With the songs in the beginning have more of a lively, upbeat feel....and as the Ep drives on, it takes a more deep thought, almost depressing feel...as if...there just isn't enough time in the world to appreciate all the beauty around us. Each song differs in content and sound, showing Anima Vestra is more of a versatile artist...than just an emcee. He is not one who's music can be "boxed in" with categories.

And that is timeless music. A project that can tell us a story with out realizing we are hearing one. That is what music used to be. And Anima Vestra has paid great respect to those before him, just by making true art with a creative and original form. "Cerasus Flores" is available for free streaming on the popular Soundcloud platform. Check it out today and let us know what your favorite song is.

WASHINGTON — Police in the nation’s capital on Monday arrested the leader of the Proud Boys, who is accused of burning a Black Lives Matter banner that was torn down from a historic Black church in downtown Washington last month.

Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, 36, was arrested by Metropolitan Police Department officers after he arrived in Washington ahead of protests planned by supporters of President Donald Trump to coincide with the congressional vote expected Wednesday to affirm Joe Biden’s election victory.

Tarrio was taken into custody after a warrant was issued for his arrest for destruction of property, police said. He was also facing a weapons charges after officers found him with two high-capacity firearm magazines when he was arrested.

A pro-Trump rally in December ended in violence as hundreds of Trump supporters, some wearing the signature black and yellow of the Proud Boys, sought out confrontations with a collective of activists and counterprotesters attempting to bar them from Black Lives Matter Plaza, an area near the White House. By nightfall, vandals tore down a Black Lives Matter banner and sign from two historic Black churches in downtown Washington and set the banner ablaze.

Tarrio told The Washington Post he had participated in the burning of the Black Lives Matter banner and said he would plead guilty to destruction of property and pay the church the cost of the banner.

Another video showed men removing a Black Lives Matter sign at the Metropolitan A.M.E. Church.

“We just want to see justice be done,” the Rev. Dr. Lanther Mills, senior pastor at Asbury, said in an interview Monday night.

The church community is “in some ways of course feeling some relief” following the arrest, Mills added. Even so, she said, “we still remain concerned” about the high number of expected protesters in the area.
