Video After The Jump While Lady Gaga has worked with everyone from RedOne and Akon to Teddy Riley and Rodney Jerkins, she sticks to a pretty tight-knit group of collaborators when it comes to her albums, including the forthcoming Born This Way. But that doesn't mean singer/songwriter Ne-Yo hasn't been trying to get in the studio with the "Bad Romance" songstress. "We've been talking to Gaga's people about some stuff," he said. "Gaga's very difficult to get a hold of as of late, for obvious reasons. She's very busy. We've been talking to her people about doing some stuff." Ne-Yo is best known for working with artists like Rihanna and Beyoncé and crafting pop-influenced R&B tunes. So how would he apply his hitmaking formula to the dance queen's music? "I have no idea! That's kind of the intriguing thing that I have no idea what that song would sound like," he said. "Like, would I jump into her world? Would I pull her into mine? I don't know, but I feel like it would be interesting to see. Maybe we should get a camera crew over when that happens." While a Gaga collabo isn't a sure thing, Ne-Yo has confirmed that he's working with Beyoncé on her next album. "The thing about working with Beyoncé is that she definitely has her own agenda," the "Irreplaceable" songwriter said. "She's an artist that knows exactly what she wants to do. "She's going to give you directions [like] 'Here's where I'm going, so here's where I need you to be,' " Ne-Yo explained. "And, you know, I'm a person that follows direction well. [And she'll be like], 'So this is the sound, this is the vibe; make it happen.' And I write and she likes it or she doesn't. And in this case she did, and there you have it." Source: MTV

Is Lyfe Jennings done for good, or will he rise like The Phoenix? The platinum-selling rapper called it a career Wednesday after being sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison for firing a gun and making other bad decisions during a 2008 fight with his ex-girlfriend. "This will be my last post," he wrote on Twitter. "To everyone who gave me a chance I am forever in your debt. I have had a fabulous career because of you...I've lived a hundred lives in these 6 yrs so I not only won't, i don't have the right to complain." Not now you don't, anyway. Lyfe Jennings, born Chester Bamsu Jennings, was convicted in a Fulton County court of criminal trespassing, discharging a weapon near a street, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and fleeing or attempting to elude a police offer, according to HipHopWired. According to the complaint against him, Jennings was arrested in October 2008 after kicking in the door of the house where his ex-girlfriend and mother of his two sons, Joy Bounds, was staying, and then firing rounds from a .40-caliber weapon from out in the street. Afterward, he let officers chase him around Smyrna, Ga., for awhile. Then, after crashing his 2005 Corvette, he refused a field sobriety test. He had already informed fans that his fourth album, I Still Believe, would be his last. Whether he meant it or not, the prison sentence handed down today means another one won't be coming for awhile. "I would like to think that I've changed lives by changing my own, tho I can't be sure," Jennings concluded. "But one thing I am sure of is God gives and takes away in measure. He is fair, just and forever. Amen from aman... Smile, its contageous:)" Before his music career took off, Jennings spent 10 years in prison for arson. The title of his debut studio album, Lyfe 268-192, refers to his prison ID number. Source: EOnline twitter-5d.gif

Nicki Minaj has refused to discuss her sexuality, claiming she doesn't understand the fascination with her private life. Speculation about the Young Money rapper's sexual preference has surrounded her since she burst onto the rap scene last year, with some reports suggesting she is bisexual. Lil Wayne's protege has previously made jokes about having threesomes with R n B songstress Cassie and model Lauren London which has fueled reports that she could be into women. Minaj also hit the headlines earlier this month for her joke marriage to Drake on Twitter, with even his mum thinking they had tied the knot. Speaking to Complex magazine, the Your Love singer claims she is happy to keep people guessing about her sexuality stating: "Take what you want from it (the bisexual rumours). (In the press) I didn't say (I don't like women)." "I said I don't have sex with women. I don't have sex with men right now either. If (bisexual is) what they wanna call me, then fine." Minaj also revealed to the publication that she is currently single and enjoying a period of celibacy, saying: "Maybe it's because we don't need that physical stimulation all the time. I can just have a daydream and it does it for me." Source: MTVUK twitter-5d.gif

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) -- Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will join Randy Jackson as "American Idol" judges next season, after months of turnover and speculation about the future of TV's top-rated show. With pomp rivaling that of a U.S. Supreme Court appointment, Fox finally assembled the new pieces of the "Idol" panel that will be returned to its original three-member format for season 10. Actress-singer-dancer Lopez and Aerosmith frontman Tyler will have the job of trying to match the offbeat chemistry of former judges Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul. The likely Lopez-Tyler pairing had been reported so frequently that Fox would have had to produce Betty White and 50 Cent instead to generate any surprise. Cowell announced last January that he planned to leave to launch a new talent show for Fox in 2011, with newcomers Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi exiting this summer. Abdul left in 2009 over a contract dispute. Jackson will be the only original judge when "American Idol" returns in January. Lopez and Tyler could help "American Idol" reinvent itself for the new season, when it will try to stem a ratings slide and bring in younger viewers. The show's audience has been gradually aging, and advertisers prefer to pitch to young adults. But Fox and the show's producers didn't match the new judges to the target audience when it comes to age: Lopez is 41 and Tyler is 62. Jackson is in the middle at age 54. Lopez's films include "Selena," "The Wedding Planner" and most recently "The Back-Up Plan." She has appeared as a mentor on "American Idol." She was part of the "Fly Girl" house dancers on the comedy show "In Living Color," in 1990, before becoming a backup dancer for Janet Jackson. "On the 6," Lopez's first album, came out in 1999 and launched a career in pop, Latin, hip-hop and R&B. "Love?" is the latest CD from the Grammy winner, who has twins with husband Marc Anthony. Tyler brings a colorful and tempestuous history with him. He's fought with his band mates, been in rehab for prescription drug abuse and took a fall off a stage in 2009 that forced cancellation of Aerosmith's summer tour. "American Idol" was the nation's favorite program last season, the seventh time it's held that position. But it showed rare vulnerability, beaten in the weekly ratings several times by ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." A total of 24.2 million viewers watched the ninth season's final duel between Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox, compared to the nearly 29 million viewers who saw Kris Allen claim victory over Adam Lambert last year. Video After The Jump A lot of people think comedian Charlie Murphy got his start in show business on Dave Chappelle's Show, but Eddie Murphy's big brother was grinding long before that. In this interview with Nardwuar, he talks about his early career. Nardwuar: What was being in Sammy Davis Jr's last movie 'The Kid Who Loved Christmas' like? Charlie Murphy: For me it was awesome..Actually is was awesome to a flaw, because I was so happy it was Sammy Davis Jr, I was like 'It's Sammy!' and he was sick. So I think I was a nuisance. Like 'who is this bubbly guy that keeps coming around?' and he was feeling horrible. There was a hamster in that movie called Molly. Eddie Murphy put a hamster in one of his other movies. Did you have a hamster growing up called Molly? CM: No because we realized that hamsters are actually mice, with afros. I mentioned you movie career, but you also have and had a rap career. What can you tell me about the K9 Posse? CM: I produced it, I wrote on it, I just didn't rap. I wish I would have rapped, but we had a lot of fun doing K9. Charlie Murphy, sweat on my? CM: Balls! CB4, there goes another one. Represents a very colorful and illustrious career. When you auditioned for CB4, is it true that you showed up with a gun, with bullets? CM: Yes and I'm not saying anyone else should do that, but this is why it happened. I went in and I did the normal audition. And Chris Rock called me up that night and said 'that was excellent, tomorrow when you come back for that callbakc I only have one suggestion, I want to be even meaner that you was today.' And I thought 'woo that was pretty mean, how you gonna top that? I guess I'm gonna have to bullets in the gun for real this time.' So the next day I went in with a 9MM. I popped the clip in, in front of them to let them see it was it was bullets, jacked it and pointed it at Chris Rock which was very crazy. Charlie goes on to talk about working with Redd Foxx, Dave Chappelle knocking out a bull, being on the air with 50 Cent, Eminem and DJ Whoo Kid. Also Sarah Palin's tight fitting jeans and his greatest hip hop moment. twitter-5d.gif

Video After The Jump Carmelo Anthony's wish list starts with the New York Knicks, but that's not the only trade destination he's targeting. Sources briefed on the state of Anthony's ongoing push to be dealt by the Denver Nuggets told ESPN.com on Tuesday that the Chicago Bulls are a firm 1A on his list. This is partly attributed to the fact that the Bulls are much closer to assembling the sort of package Denver would want in return for its franchise player than the Knicks. Over the last 72 hours, sources said, Anthony's representatives -- headed by agent Leon Rose -- have been ramping up the pressure on the Nuggets to complete a deal with the Knicks or the Bulls before training camps open leaguewide next week. Sources say that Denver officials, however, are not inclined to rush into anything. ESPN.com reported Sunday night that the Nuggets, in recent days, have been telling interested teams for the first time that they are willing to field offers for Anthony after resisting such inquiries for weeks. But even as the Nuggets have opted to see what sort of haul can be had for their high-scoring forward, there remains strong sentiment within the organization to slow the process down in hopes of mounting one last campaign to win back Anthony's support. The Nuggets, sources said, are clinging to the hope that Anthony might reconsider his trade-me stance once he starts hearing some Denver-friendly voices upon reporting to camp after weeks of isolation from the organization. Anthony will be greeted by the likes of head coach George Karl and trusted teammate Chauncey Billups trying to convince the 26-year-old that his current team is not far away from a return to contention in the Western Conference and that the foundation of the group that reached the West finals in 2009 should not be scrapped. Yet sources say that the message from Anthony's camp to the Nuggets has stayed consistent: New York and Chicago are the preferred landing spots, with New Jersey and Houston also still in the conversation. The Nets remain a viable option because of their planned move to Brooklyn and because the Nets have what several rival executives believe to be the deepest cache of assets to satisfy Denver's trade demands in its worst-case scenario. Though the Rockets are the fourth known team in the Anthony sweepstakes, multiple sources close to the situation insisted Friday that Houston is not making guard Kevin Martin part of the discussions. The Nuggets, sources maintain, would expect a combination of expiring contracts, future first-round draft picks and at least one marketable young talent if they ultimately concede that Anthony must be traded between now and the February trading deadline. The Nuggets have offered Anthony, who can become a free agent next July, a three-year extension worth $65 million. ESPN.com reported Monday that the Nets are widely regarded in NBA front-office circles as the frontrunner for Anthony. New Jersey is reportedly willing to package No. 3 overall pick Derrick Favors with the expiring contracts of Troy Murphy and Kris Humphries and at least one future first-rounder. It's believed that the Nets, though, would insist on Anthony agreeing to a contract extension as part of the trade -- as Kevin Garnett did when Minnesota sent him to Boston in the summer of 2007 -- before they agree to surrender assets such as Favors and draft picks. The Bulls could theoretically trump any New Jersey offer if they were willing to include center Joakim Noah as part of a deal for Anthony. Sources with knowledge of Chicago's thinking, however, have maintained for days that the Bulls are strongly against the inclusion of Noah, revealing instead that Chicago has offered a package featuring Luol Deng, Taj Gibson and one future first-rounder. Playing alongside former Team USA teammate Amare Stoudemire in New York is thought to hold the greatest appeal to Anthony, something Stoudemire openly discussed earlier in the summer. The Knicks, though, simply lack the draft picks to sweeten a package that sources say would be centered around Eddy Curry's expiring contract and either Danilo Gallinari or Anthony Randolph -- but not both of those young players. The Knicks, Bulls and Nets all stand to benefit from Denver's determination to send Anthony out of the Western Conference if it decides there is no alternative apart from trading him, but sources close to the process note that a third team would almost certainly have to be recruited to help facilitate a deal. Reports have persisted for weeks that Anthony, wielding the hammer of his potential free agency in the wake of the defections of LeBron James and Chris Bosh to Miami, wants out. ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported Aug. 16 that it was "a matter of when, not if, Anthony and the Nuggets will go their separate ways." But Anthony has not made any such declarations publicly, announcing Tuesday night via his Twitter feed: "Everyone has [their] own opinion. It's funny. It cracks me up." Yet Anthony did add in a follow-up tweet: "When I know something ... you guys will know something."

Video After The Jump ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver Broncos wide receiver Kenny McKinley was found dead in his home Monday in an apparent suicide. Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said authorities were called to McKinley's home in Centennial at 3:35 p.m. local time and found his body in the second-floor master bedroom. He said detectives believe McKinley, 23, was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Robinson said authorities were called by a female friend of McKinley's who discovered the body after returning from an errand with his child. The sheriff declined to say if authorities found a suicide note. "It's still part of our investigation and probably nothing we'll talk about right now," he said. McKinley's death is the latest in a series of tragedies for the Broncos in recent years. Cornerback Darrent Williams was slain in a drive-by shooting on New Year's Day 2007 and three months later backup running back Damien Nash collapsed and died after a charity basketball game in St. Louis. "Everyone with the Broncos is shocked and saddened by the loss of Kenny McKinley," team owner Pat Bowlen said in a statement. "He was part of the Broncos' family and will be greatly missed by our organization. My most heartfelt condolences go out to Kenny's family and friends." The Broncos said coach Josh McDaniels would meet with the media on Tuesday. In a statement, McDaniels said: "Kenny had a promising future on the football field, but more importantly, he was a great teammate whose smile and personality could light up the room. This is a tragic loss for our football team, and his family is in all of our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time." McKinley was a second-year pro who was on the team's injured reserve list. He played in eight games as a rookie in 2009 with seven kick returns for 158 yards before going on IR with a left knee injury on Dec. 29. He recovered and participated in the team's offseason workouts but got hurt again during the first week of training camp and was placed on IR with a different left knee injury on Aug. 5. McKinley's agent Andrew Bondarowicz told ESPN.com's Bill Williamson that he spoke with the wideout last week but that there were no obvious signs of despair. "Kenny was a pretty easy-going guy," Bondarowicz said. "I do know that being on the injured reserve was hard on him and it weighed on him ... but there was nothing to suggest anything like this. It's a shock that caught us by surprise." McKinley was a fifth-round draft choice out of South Carolina in 2009. He attended South Cobb High School in Austell, Ga. McKinley remains South Carolina's all-time leading receiver with 207 catches for 2,781 yards. He came back to the school earlier this month, watched the Gamecocks beat Georgia 17-6 and visited with his college coach, Steve Spurrier. "Had a wonderful smile just like he always did," Spurrier said. The news of McKinley's death spread quickly at the end of South Carolina's practice Monday. Players who normally sprint off the field upbeat walked slowly with their heads down. "Kenny was certainly one of my all-time favorite players. It's hard to figure out why it happened like this," Spurrier said. Several Broncos players were attending a fundraiser Monday night in honor of Williams. Cornerback Champ Bailey and former NFL star John Lynch headlined the wine-tasting VIP event to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver, home of the Darrent Williams Memorial Teen Center. Bailey told The Associated Press last week that it was an opportunity for fans and friends to celebrate the life of the player they called D-Will, especially after so much attention was focused on the trial earlier this year in which Willie Clark, 26, was convicted of first-degree murder of Williams after a confrontation at a nightclub. Clark was sentenced in April to life in prison plus 1,152 years. "It's time to remember the way D-Will lived and not the way he died," Bailey said last week. The Broncos, who beat Seattle 31-14 on Sunday, hustled out of their Dove Valley practice facilities Monday night, many of them headed to the charity event unaware of the latest tragedy to befall the franchise. Players leaving the event said they didn't want to comment on McKinley's death. At McKinley's home in a subdivision in the southern Denver suburbs, a bouquet of flowers wrapped in purple was propped against the door Monday night. Source: ESPN twitter-5d.gif
