"Where my ring? Knew you had it cause you took too long as Micky, Annie and the girl who bought it looked on. Huffing and puffing, gun in my hand told you to step outside. Hoping you said no, but you hurt my pride. Made our way down the steps, maybe you thought it was just a threat. Or maybe your life was just that crazy and you was begging for death. Tried to justify this in my young mind, but the adrenaline and my ego hurt combined drove me berserk. Saw the devil in your eyes, high off more than weed, confused, I just closed my young eyes and squeezed. What a sound, opened my eyes just in time to see you stumbling to the ground. Damn, what I done now?" Jay-Z "You Must Love Me" I remember the the first time I heard Jay-Z's song "You Must Love Me." A joint that describes several incidents he was involved in as a youth, that he later came to regret. Acts Such as selling crack to his own mother, using a young girl as a mule to carry cocaine (she gets popped by the police), and shooting his own brother. I often wondered if any of it was true or just typical rap boasting from Hov, trying to add "realness" to the song. In an interview with the UK Guardian, Jay-Z admits at least one of the scenarios is %100 fact. At the age of 12, he shot his crack addicted older brother over a stolen ring. "I thought my life was over. I thought I'd go to jail for ever." Hov said "It was terrible. I was a boy, a child. I was terrified." Luckily the bullet hit his brother in the shoulder and wasn't a life threatening wound. When Hov visited him in the hospital, his brother apologized for stealing the ring and didn't press charges against him. In the interview Jay goes on to describe how prevalent guns were at that time in his neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. A problem that has only gotten worse in every hood across America. "Guns were everywhere. You didn't have to go far to get one. Just everywhere," he said. "Guns were around every day. There were shootouts, but I never shot anyone else. Most people in shootouts don't get shot." Jigga claims he was shot at three times, but never hit. "It's like there was some rogue angel watching over us," he said. Video After The Jump (CBS) "Even if the world comes crashing down," go his lyrics. "I stand tall proud back against the wall." He is a one-of-a kind rapper, reports CBS News correspondent John Bentley. That's because this artist - who goes by Signmark - was born deaf. In an art form rooted in the spoken word, Signmark doesn't say a word. Instead, he signs his way through his songs. "Those two words, music and deaf, they've never gone together," signed Signmark Deaf and hearing music fans haven't gone together before, either. Signmark bridges that gap with the rapper Brandon, who gives voice to his lyrics.

Signmark recently performed in New York City as part of International Deaf Awareness week, during his tour of the U.S. But he hasn't always been interested in rap. He got his musical start at 7-years-old translating Christmas carols. "We felt kind of isolated when they started singing Christmas carols and I felt it wasn't fair so I said to my grandmother, stop playing the piano for a minute, look at me, let me try to read your lips, and I'll try to interpret what you're saying to my parents so we can participate," said Signmark through a translator. As a teenager, rap appealed to Signmark because he identified with rappers feelings of having no voice in society. "They want equality, they're fighting for rights from the government, fighting for information, that was right up my alley and I said that's what I want to do," said Signmark. In 2009, Signmark became the first deaf rapper ever to land a record contract. Even though Signmark can't hear the music, he literally feels the beat; his fans can feel it too. "You can go to a concert with earplugs and you'll feel it, you'll then notice that you feel it in your body," said Signmark His sign language becomes part of his performance; a new art form that creates a shared experience for the hearing and the deaf, with neither side being left at a loss for words. Audio After The Jump Leading up to the potential "Fight Of The Decade" we've heard a lot of different reasons for why it might not happen. Everything from money, to Olympic Style Drug Testing demanded by the Mayweather camp, to tension between the two promotors, Bob Arum and Golden Boy Promotions. All have been cited as possible stumbling blocks to what would be the most lucrative boxing match in history. Floyd Mayweather Sr has come up with one I have never heard of before. He told "On The Ropes Radio" that he has concerns for his son's life if the fight takes place. "I’m just saying this right here, my concern is for my son’s protection. My concern is for my son’s life, that’s why. If my son’s fighting that little man, I’m concerned about my son’s life. That’s what I’m telling you." Floyd Sr said. During the interview, it's clear that Floyd Sr suspects Pacquiao is doing something illegal to gain an advantage. Although he doesn't come out and say it directly. He also says that Pacquiao pretended to be hurt by a body shot thown by Antonio Margarito in their match last weekend. Floyd Sr thinks some kind of ruse unfolded during the fight because both men are managed by Bob Arum. "I think well you know, both of them are with Bob Arum and I think that he didn’t care about one as much as he cared about the other one. That’s what I believe, and I believe that he didn’t care about one as much as the other one. I believe that Pacquiao, to me there was no doubt anyway. I told everybody that Pacquiao is going to beat him up real bad or stop him, and that’s what he did. Pacquiao caught myself I believed, when the guy hit him to the body, I can’t say who told Pacquiao to act like he did, like he was hurt. Man, he wasn’t hurt. Believe me. He might have been hurt before when he got his ass whopped by one of them little bitty fighters when he was fighting in a smaller weight class when he got stopped when a guy hit him to the body. But now, when he got hit this time by a much, much, much bigger man, he got hit solid. If another smaller guy hit him like that and he put him on the ground and he couldn’t even get up, how is a big old man this big, way, way bigger than him with way, way more weight and hit him to the body and then he just comes out of it. He was hit to the head a few times by some good straight right hands. It never moved him. So I don’t know. If somebody don’t see what’s going on, I don’t know what. What’s in my mind stays with me and there it is "Me myself personally, if they had the fight I’d tell my son not to fight him! Not because my son can’t beat him, because my son could beat him easy. He’s nothing big. He’s nothing hard to find. He can be found, and even Margarito showed you can hit him when you want to hit him. How in the hell is Margarito hitting somebody as big and slow as he is? He couldn’t hit me in my sleep. So how in the world is he hitting this man now? I know my son is different. He’d tear him apart, but the whole thing is I’m like this right here. If I was my son, I have my reasons why I would not fight that man. I would have my reasons for not fighting that little bitty man. I got my reasons why, and I ain’t got to tell nobody nothing. Everybody knows what time it is." It's important to note that Floyd Sr does not speak for his son. Yes they have reconciled recently after not talking for years. But Floyd Jr is trained by his uncle Roger, and his management team does not include Floyd Sr. There's much more to the interview so check out the excerpt below. Video After The Jump Not satisfied with being the best female singer R&B has to offer, Beyonce is hard at work creating her own 'genre of music.' While on the set of her new Vizio television commercial, Beyonce talked to ET about what she's working on. "I'm here with Vizio shooting a commercial now, so it's great. I love to dance, I love to sing, and I'm actually in the studio writing songs and producing. I have a lot of live instruments that I'm putting into the tracks to try to change the sound and make my own genre of music," Beyonce says. There have been many genre's of R&B music. Everything from funk, neo soul, new jack swing and classic soul to name a few. It will be interesting to see what B's new style will be dubbed. B is also staying busy outside of music. Vizio is just the latest in a long line of products the super popular singer is endorsing. She looked genuinely excited, as she talked about the concept of the new commercial. "The concept today is, basically someone is watching the television, and I decided to step in their living room and perform especially for them. And the tv looks so wonderful they're ignoring me," she explains. "So I'm stepping it up and I'm trying to perform harder, and it doesn't matter, the TV is better!" Cool concept, although we all know, no sane man could ignore Beyonce. The commercial debuts on Thanksgiving Day. twitter-5d.gif

Video After The Jump Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons stopped by 'Naughty But Nice With Rob' recently for an interview. During one segment he was asked about his good friend Kanye West. Simmons said he hadn't spoken with Ye in a while, but expressed disappointment with Kanye's apology to George Bush during a Today Show interview with Matt Lauer. "I'm a little disappointed he apologized to George Bush. I felt like why do that sh*t? Russell said. "We have to accept that celebrities have great power. And some of them have great voices, and poets have always had great power. Kanye says things that people think but don't always get to say, so when he says 'George Bush don't like black people,' it was what millions of Americans thought and felt." twitter-5d.gif

Video After The Jump The video shoot for Dr Dre's "Kush" video just went down in Los Angeles. A lot of Cali love was on deck, as Roccett, E-40, Glasses Malone and more showed up for the shoot. West Coast rapper Rockett says he has a newfound respect for G-Unit boss 50 Cent. As Roccett tells it, 50 rolled up on a group of crips, showing no fear and asked for directions to the video shoot. "I don't know what issues certain n*ggas got with other n*ggas, I don't get into all that," Rockett said. "But I know right now [at that moment], I'm on the corner with the crips straight up. I don't know 50... 50 don't know me. The n*gga drive by us, we don't know who he is, so we looking at the car like 'who cuz?' He pull off [and] u-turn back and pull up like 'where the video shoot?' We like 'cuz this n*gga gonna double back?'. I got respect for cuz period [after that]. The way he did that, most rap n*ggas wouldn't have doubled back. Most rap n*ggas would have been like 'is that 15-20 n*ggas on the corner? I aint turning around.' " Roccetts' homie chimed in. "He doubled back with his head out of the car [sunroof]. Most n*ggs wouldn't have done that. We respect him for that." 50 once again proves he really is the realest dude in the game. twitter-5d.gif

Video After The Jump (Reuters) - Actor Wesley Snipes was ordered on Friday to start serving a three-year prison sentence for failing to file income tax returns by a federal judge who rejected the Hollywood star's bid for a new trial. "The defendant Snipes had a fair trial ... The time has come for the judgment to be enforced," U.S. District Judge Terrell Hodges said in his ruling. Revoking bail for the 48-year-old star of the "Blade" trilogy, the judge ordered him to report to prison as directed by the U.S. Marshals Service or Bureau of Prisons. It was not clear when or where Snipes would begin serving his time behind bars, however. His lawyer, Daniel Meachum, has said he would appeal if a new trial was denied. Meachum told the Orlando Sentinel the ruling was shocking. "Wesley is very disappointed but staying strong and positive," the newspaper quoted Meachum as saying. Snipes had already lost his appeal of the prison sentence stemming from his 2008 conviction in Hodges' Ocala, Florida, court on three counts of "willful failure to file tax returns" for 1999 through 2001. Snipes was found not guilty of five other counts in the high-profile felony tax case. In seeking a new trial, Meachum had argued that jurors in the original trial were biased and that the prosecution's star witness had his own criminal problems. At his sentencing, prosecutors said Snipes, a resident of Windermere, Florida, had earned more than $38 million since 1999 but had filed no tax returns or paid any taxes through October 2006. Although he is best known for his roles in action films, Snipes has also had critical success in comedies like "White Men Can't Jump" in 1992. He played the lead in director Spike Lee's interracial drama "Jungle Fever" in 1991 and also played the jazz saxophonist in Lee's "Mo' Better Blues" in 1990. Eric Thompson, a supervisor in the U.S. Marshals Service office in Orlando, Florida, said the Bureau of Prisons would notify Snipes and his lawyer of a surrender date. "He'll probably get it by certified mail," Thompson said. He declined to say what prison was likely to be selected for Snipes except to say that it would not be in Florida. A listing for Snipes already posted on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website says his prisoner ID or registration number as 43355-018, his location is "in transit" and his release date is "unknown." The Game's latest album has been pushed back to Nevuary. So that's left the Compton MC a lot of time to sit on twitter and beg G-Unit boss, 50 Cent for a reunion. Fif hasn't responded back directly, but Capo, Tony Yayo fired cannon shots yesterday at the bi-polar mc. And let him know in no uncertain terms there will be no G-Unit reunion.

That tweet sparked off a war of words between the two former associates. Dark Man X is back behind bars again. The troubled rapper just can't seem to stay out of bad situations with the law. In recent interviews, DMX has looked and sounded clear headed. His recent verse on Swizz Beatz' "Yall Don't Know" is vintage X. So this latest brush with the law is puzzling. Bommbox is reporting X was arrested last night in Phoenix for failing to check in with his parole officer, a violation of his probation. Arizona has not been kind to Dark Man. He's had several run ins with Maricopa County Sherriff, Joe Arpaio. A man who takes pride in shaming prisoners, by making them wear pink undershorts and socks. Uses pink, towels and sheets as well as pink handcuffs. This latest arrest marks the sixth time X has been locked up in the county During a tv interview from an Arizona jail last year, X swore he'd never come back there once he was released. But recently he changed his mind and said he was going to make the state his home. After this latest arrest, I think he might change his mind about that. Now word yet on when he will be released. twitter-5d.gif
