CINCINNATI (WCPO) — A 16-year-old charged in 2021 with 4 murders will be prosecuted as an adult.

"The defendant is in his own category," Hamilton County Asst. Prosecutor Linda Scott said. "We're talking about a person who executed people."

Scott said the teen committed violent crimes as an "audition" for getting paid to kill people.

On Feb. 1, 2021, he lured a man to a location, then shot & wounded him & shot & killed the man's friend, Terrance North.

"This was his baby," Scott said. "His robbery setup. His idea. This was a case where he was the lone shooter."

Scott said after that shooting, the boy participated with adult co-defendants in two alleged contract killings later that month.

According to prosecutors, Carl Godfrey was hired in January 2021 to kill Jeremiah Campbell. Godfrey & Jason Gray shot Campbell to death on Jan. 31, 2021.

On Feb. 16, 2021, Godfrey sent Gray, Mario Gordon & the boy to complete a second killing for which he had been contracted. The trio, driven by 49-year-old Connor Inabnitt, spotted the target inside a vehicle with passengers & opened fire.

The target survived. Deontay Otis, 1 of the vehicle’s other occupants, died on the scene.

The final shooting occurred 2 days later when Godfrey & the boy when prosecutors said they shot & killed Donnell Steele.

The judge set his bond at $2.7 million cash. That's $100,000 cash for each of the active 27 counts he's facing, she said.

He remains in juvenile detention.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (ABC News) - A woman testified Friday that she was 14 when Bill Cosby took her into a trailer on a movie set in 1975, grabbed her so she couldn't move her arms & kissed her.

“I was struggling to get away,” she said. “It was very shocking.”

The woman, now 61, told her story in a public venue for the first time during a Los Angeles County civil trial over the lawsuit of Judy Huth, who alleges Cosby sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion when she was 16 at around the same time, in the spring of 1975.

The woman testified that she, her mother, and other family & friends were on the Los Angeles set of the film “Let's Do It Again," starring Cosby & Sidney Poitier, where Cosby had invited them to act as extras after meeting them at a tennis tournament a few months earlier.

She said Cosby invited her alone into his trailer to help him straighten the bow tie he was wearing for a scene.

“He immediately grabbed me,” she said. “He started kissing me, all over my face, tongue down my throat.”

Asked by Huth’s attorney Nathan Goldberg how tightly Cosby was holding her, she replied, “enough that I couldn’t get away.”

After about 30 seconds she pulled free & left.

Pictures were shown in court of Cosby & the 14-year-old together at the tennis tournament, with him smiling & his arms around her. Other photos were shown of Cosby & the girl with her family on the set of the film. Huth would later meet Cosby on a different set of the same film.

The woman who testified Friday said after leaving the trailer, she did not tell anyone she was with what happened with Cosby, who is not attending the trial.

“It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” she said. “I didn't want to ruin everything for everyone.”

At least 14 students and one teacher were killed when a gunman opened fire at an elementary school in Texas, Governor Greg Abbott said Tuesday. Abbott said the shooter is also dead, and is believed to have been killed by responding law enforcement officers.

Abbott's statement comes after the district reported an active shooter at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, which is approximately an hour and a half west of San Antonio.

The Uvalde Memorial Hospital previously said it received 13 children from ambulance and buses for treatment, and that two people who arrived at the hospital were deceased. A second hospital said it is caring for one child and one adult. That hospital, University Health, said a 66-year-old woman is in critical condition.

South Texas Blood and Tissue said it sent 15 units of blood to Uvalde on Tuesday.

Though the details of the shooting are unclear, the district said that there had been an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District — located about an hour and a half west of San Antonio — tweeted that there is "an active shooter at Robb Elementary," adding, "Law enforcement is on site. Your cooperation is needed at this time by not visiting the campus. As soon as more information is gathered it will be shared."

At approximately 2:00 p.m. local time, the district said parents were cleared to pick up their children at the local civic center.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott identified the gunman in an elementary school shooting that left at least 14 students and one teacher dead as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos during a press conference Tuesday.

The shooting took place at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, the town where Ramos was from, according to Abbott.

“It is believed he abandoned his vehicle and entered into the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde with a handgun and he may have also had a rifle but that is not yet confirmed according to my most recent report,” Abbott said.

Ramos is now dead, according to Abbott, and it is believed that responding officers killed him.

Ramos also allegedly shot his grandmother, ABC News reported.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — 14 people were shot before dawn Saturday morning at a hookah parlor & police said 1 man died & that 2 of those hit by gunfire suffered critical injuries.

The shooting happened at about 3:15 a.m. & preliminary information indicated there was a party during which 2 people got into an altercation & exchanged gunfire, striking multiple people, said police Capt. Dori Koren.

Koren told reporters no arrests have been made & no suspect descriptions were immediately available but that authorities did not believe there was any danger to the general public.

Police went to the hookah bar identified as Manny’s Glow Ultra Lounge & Restaurant after receiving multiple 911 calls.

Officers secured the scene & rendered aid, including applying tourniquets & administering CPR.

Investigators were trying to determine the types of gun or guns used in the shooting.

”It’s a fairly large scene so it’s going so take some time to go through the entire scene,” he said. “We’re not really sure exactly what kind of weapon was used, or exactly if there were two shooters. We believe there was an exchange of gunfire, but we’re still looking into all of information.”

The medical aid provided to victims by the officers who initially responded “definitely made a significance in this case.”

Hookahs are water pipes that are used to smoke specially made tobacco that comes in different flavors.

Hours after the shooting, much of shopping plaza where the shooting occurred remained cordoned off by police tape as officers looked for stray bullets & other evidence.

Gervonta Davis, the two-division champion who is one of boxing's rising stars, was indicted Monday in the Circuit Court of Baltimore on 14 counts of various traffic violations related to a hit-and-run crash last fall.

A native of Baltimore, the 26-year-old Davis was involved in a crash in the early morning hours of Nov. 5 after reportedly celebrating his birthday at a downtown club.

Among the 14 charges, Davis has been cited for failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury, failure to render assistance to an injured person & driving with both a suspended & revoked license. All are considered misdemeanors in Maryland with the most serious carrying up to a year in jail.

Court documents from the Baltimore City State's Attorney Office reported that Davis, who was driving a 2020 Lamborghini Uris, ran a red light at 1:47 a.m. ET & struck the front passenger side of a 2004 Toyota Solara. Video from a nearby convenience store saw Davis' car collide into the store's fence & became "disabled."

Witness accounts & video gathered during the investigation also showed that a black Camaro arrived at the scene shortly after the crash before passengers began transferring items from the Lamborghini to the Camaro. Davis & an unidentified female were also captured on camera fleeing the scene in the Camaro.

The Solara's airbags deployed and the vehicle was "destroyed. The 4 occupants of the car were transported to the hospital as a result of the crash. Gil Amaral, an attorney for the injured driver, says his client suffered "fairly serious injuries."

Leaving the scene of a crash can result in felony charges punishable by up to five years in prison, but only for a crash which produces serious injuries.

Davis (24-0, 23 KOs) currently holds the WBA super featherweight title & the WBA "regular" lightweight title.

Video After The Jump

Kellen Winslow II, a former NFL star tight end, was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Wednesday as part of a plea deal for a multitude of sexual offenses against five women in Southern California.

The 14-year sentence was the maximum allowed under the agreement. Winslow was convicted of forcible rape, rape of an unconscious person, assault with intent to commit rape, indecent exposure, and lewd conduct in public. One of the women was homeless.

Winslow, 37, appeared via video conference at San Diego Superior Court in Vista and declined to give a statement saying his lawyers advised him not to speak.

"In the future, I do plan to tell my story," he said.

San Diego County Superior Court Judge Blaine Bowman called Winslow a "sexual predator" who preyed on women who were especially vulnerable.

"The vulnerability of the victims was no accident. It was the type of victim that you sought out yourself because you felt that perhaps they wouldn’t report the crime" or "wouldn't be deemed credible by the jurors," Bowman said.

Four women gave statements and described the suffering afterward.

"It's affecting my life every day and every night," one woman said. "I don’t ever feel safe inside or outside. You brought so much damage to my life."

Winslow’s attorneys said their client, the son of Hall of Fame tight end Kellen Winslow, suffers from a traumatic brain injury from his football playing and a motorcycle accident that ended his career.

Winslow was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2004 and during his career also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets and New England Patriots.

Formerly one of the highest-paid players at his position who last played in the NFL in 2013, Winslow was found guilty of raping a homeless woman in Encinitas. Jurors also convicted him of two misdemeanors -- indecent exposure and a lewd act in public -- involving two other women. That jury failed to agree on other charges, including the alleged rape of the hitchhiker and the rape of the unconscious 17-year-old girl in 2003 when he was 19.

VISTA, Calif. (AP) — Former NFL tight end Kellen Winslow II agreed Friday to accept a 14-year prison sentence for raping a homeless woman and assaulting two other women.

Winslow, 37, agreed to changes to a previous guilty plea in order to avoid a potential 18-year sentence.

In 2019, Winslow was convicted of raping a 58-year-old homeless woman in Encinitas, California. Facing a retrial on other charges, he later pleaded guilty to raping an unconscious teenager in 2003 and to the 2018 sexual battery of a 54-year-old hitchhiker in Encinitas.

That plea deal capped his sentence at 18 years. On Friday, a San Diego County Superior Court judge approved a change in which Winslow’s sexual battery plea was replaced with a guilty plea to assaulting the hitchhiker with the intent to commit rape.

That brought the potential sentence down to 14 years. Winslow will be sentenced next month.

His sentencing had been scheduled for last year. But it was postponed because of court closures caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Winslow was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2004 and spent four seasons with the team, being named to the Pro Bowl in 2007. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New England Patriots and New York Jets. His last NFL season was in 2013.

Winslow is the son of Hall of Fame tight end Kellen Winslow Sr., who spent nine seasons with the San Diego Chargers.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Gunfire at a backyard party killed two people and wounded 14 others early Saturday in Rochester, New York, a city that has been roiled in recent weeks by outrage over the suffocation death of Daniel Prude.

As many as 100 people were at the gathering when the shooting started just before 12:30 a.m., Acting Police Chief Mark Simmons told reporters.

Police were still trying to piece together who opened fire and why. Simmons said it was too early to say whether more than one person was shooting or whom the intended targets may have been.

A man and woman, estimated to be in their late teens or early 20s, were killed, Simmons said. Their names weren’t immediately released. The 14 wounded by gunfire were not believed to have life-threatening injuries.

The acting chief said no suspects were in custody.

“This is truly a tragedy of epic proportions,” Simmons said in a news conference held near the home. “I mean 16 victims is unheard of, and for our community, who’s right now going through so much, to have to be dealt with this tragedy, needlessly, for people who decide to act in a violent manner is unfortunate and shameful, and we’re going to do everything that we can as a department to bring those people involved to justice.”

The shooting comes as the city in Western New York has been rocked by days of protests over Prude’s death, caused when Rochester police officers put a hood over his head to stop him from spitting, then pushed his face into the pavement and held him down until he stopped breathing.

On Monday, the city’s mayor fired Police Chief La’Ron Singletary, who she said initially misled her about the circumstances of the March death. Other senior police officials announced they would retire or leave top command positions.

The acting police chief, Simmons, expressed frustration early Saturday that someone had held a large, late-night party amid that tumult, apparently in defiance of a state ban on large gatherings because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“This is yet another tragedy where individuals are having these illegal, unsanctioned house parties taking place in these properties, which — number one — is not safe because of COVID, because of the conditions,” Simmons said. “And then you add in alcohol and violence and it just becomes a recipe for disaster.”

Officers responding to calls of shots fired found “approximately 100 people” running from the scene, Simmons said. Before the call, police were not aware of the party and had received no complaints about noise, he said.

The wounded were being treated at local hospitals. Two more people were hurt while fleeing, the Major Crimes Unit said in a tweet. Despite the lack of arrests, Simmons said there was no reason to believe the neighborhood was unsafe.

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren issued a statement asking for “prayers and support for all involved.”

“I’m begging everyone to remain calm and exercise deep restraint as RPD investigates what happened here and seeks those responsible,” she said.

(CNN) Joe Biden is leading President Donald Trump by double-digits among registered voters, according to a new poll by The New York Times and Siena College.

The poll, released Wednesday, shows the former vice president ahead of Trump by 14 points, a margin that mirrors CNN's poll earlier this month that found Trump trailing Biden by 14 points. Fifty percent of registered voters in the New York Times poll said if the 2020 election were held today, they would vote for Biden and 36% said they would vote for Trump. Biden also holds a double-digit lead among Independent voters, with 47% saying he would get their vote and 29% would vote for Trump.

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee continues to lead in support from Black and Latino registered voters, with 79% of Blacks and 64% of Latinos saying they would vote for Biden. He is also tight with Trump in support among White and male voters, with 44% of Whites saying they would vote for Trump and 43% would vote for Biden. Forty-three percent of men said they would vote for Biden while 40% said they would vote for Trump.

The latest CNN polling and polling from other major news organizations also shows Trump sliding in support with Biden gaining momentum after a chaotic past few months rocked by the coronavirus pandemic, an economic downturn, and nationwide protests over racism and police brutality against Blacks.

Asked about the way Trump has handled his job as President, 47% said they strongly disapprove and 26% said they strongly approve. The poll also shows his struggling on the coronavirus pandemic, with 58% disapprove and 38% approve. Fifty percent approve of the way he is handling the economy and 45% disapprove.

A majority of voters, 61%, also disapprove of how the President has handled race relations and 33% approve. Asked about his handling of protests over the death of George Floyd, 62% disapprove and 29% approve.

The poll was conducted among 1,337 registered voters from June 17 to June 22 and has a margin of error of +/- 3.0 percent.

(CNN) A dean at Valdosta State University in Georgia was arrested over the weekend as part of a multi-agency child sex crime sting, according to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

Keith Walters, the 44-year-old dean of the university's College of Science and Mathematics, was one of 14 people arrested during a four-day sting led by the GBI dubbed "Operation Broken Arrow."

Walters is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of children and three counts of electronically furnishing obscene materials to minors, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office.

The suspects in the investigation communicated online with undercover agents believing they were communicating with minors and were arrested when they traveled to meet to them for sex, according to GBI Assistant Special Agent Lindsay Marchant. The investigation involved nearly 20 agencies and took months of planning.

"In some of these cases, the subject introduced obscene or (lewd) content, often exposing the minor to pornography or requesting the child take nude or pornographic images for them," according to a statement released by GBI. "About half of the exchanges involved websites used for dating, socializing, or even websites used for classified advertisements."

Walters, who became dean in June, was put on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation, university spokeswoman Jessica Pope said in a statement to CNN.

"VSU remains committed to assisting law enforcement's investigation in any way," Pope said.

No bond or court appearance has been set for Walters, the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office said.

On Tuesday, when asked by CNN for a statement or the name of his attorney, a family member of Walters responded, "No comment."

(CTV News) -- Florida police have charged a couple and removed eight children from their custody after they “forgot” their toddler daughter at the park and reported her missing more than 14 hours later.

Police responded to reports of a young girl walking alone in a park near West Palm Beach on Saturday morning and shared a photo of the girl on social media.

“Does anyone know who the parents are of this beautiful little girl?” they wrote on Facebook and Twitter. “The child, possibly 2 years of age, was wearing a pink short-sleeve shirt, white & gold tutu and clear plastic shoes.”

The parents, Jolanda and Makenson Alexandre, told police they “did not realize” they left her at the park the night before around 7 p.m. when they reported her missing the next morning around 11:40 a.m.

The state child welfare agency were in possession of the child and later removed seven other children from the couple’s home.

“Both parents were arrested and each charged with one count of Neglect of Child,” the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on Facebook.

(NBC10 News) FALL RIVER, Massachusetts -- Two teenage girls are facing armed robbery charges, according to authorities.

Fall River police said a 14-year-old girl walked into Bay Coast Bank on Troy Street Wednesday afternoon and “slid a note demanding money or she would blow everything up and kill everybody.”

Authorities said the girl “held her two hands tightly as if she was concealing something,” took an undetermined amount of money and fled the scene around 3:45 p.m.

During an investigation, detectives said they spotted several surveillance cameras in the area and determined the suspect’s path.

Video shows her leave the bank before getting into a dark-colored Toyota Camry with another girl.

“Detectives were also able to obtain a Massachusetts registration number for that Camry from a different camera, which took them to a Mulberry Street home,” police said, adding that they saw the Camry with the same Massachusetts registration in the yard.

“Upon knocking, no one would open the door. The door was then forced open. While speaking with the residents, a female walked through the hallway of the apartment,” police said, adding that she was wearing the same clothing as one of the robbery suspects.

They also discovered an apartment in the basement, where they found the second suspect. Investigators said they did not find any weapons on the girls.

Both girls were taken into custody and charged with armed robbery.

A source told NBC 10 News the girls are runaways. One is from Springfield and the other is from Fall River. Police said the teens are friends and do not live on Mulberry Street

Their names were not released due to their ages.

(NBC 10’s Michelle San Miguel contributed to this report.)
