Video After The Jump Legendary Hip Hop duo Eric B & Rakim received a well deserved honor Tuesday night November 16. They were inducted into the Long Island Music Hall Of Fame. "It means a lot, you know hip hop we get a lot of flack for what we do... our lyrical content. But when you go through the adversities and go through everything, for myself to be able to be at a place like this tonight brings it all to a front and makes it all worth worthwhile. I just wanna soak the moment in, enjoy it and show the people that I'm definitely humbled," Rakim said. Congrats to them. twitter-5d.gif

Having your freedom taken away has to be one of the worst feelings for any man or woman. It doesn't matter if you're a celebrity. When those bars shut behind you, there's a lot of time to reflect on past mistakes and what got you here in the first place. Atlanta rapper T.I. recently wrote a letter from prison that was posted on his blog about his current situation. To say he's upset about it would be an understatement. "This experience is truly a pain I have never felt before and that's saying a lot for a nigga who's been down locked up as many times as I have. I see this as a real ass whoopin'. The kind you don't just go back outside to play afterwards. You take ya ass to bed and don't come out of your room until it's time to go to school. I don' t know what effect this will have on my life moving forward but I'm certainly sick and mother f*cking tired of going to jail, juve, prison, the pen, correctional facilities or whatever else you want to call it. I'd have been better off doing a 5-10 year bid one time than going in time and time again for days, weeks and months for the last 15 years of my life. Even though it's been a long road, I'm still standing, barely but nevertheless still standing. At one time I thought my motivation for continuing was for my fans, my partna Philant, my pops, my grandmama, even for the haters or the people I let down. But nah... I got to do this shit for me!!! I'll be God damned if I've come all this way and made it through so much hell to let it go down like this! F*ck that! If an hour in the dark is worth a second in the sun then pass me my mother f*ckin' shades cause I'm ready to cash my darkest hours in...ASAP!!! A lot of folks had fathers or father figures in the house to raise them into manhood. I'm not trying to make any excuses for my situation but my father was a hustler that lived in New York. My uncle was a local big time dope boy turned 10 year federal inmate. My mother and grandparents did the best they could but I found my manhood in the trap and in prison systems. But I found it. And nan one of mine will ever have to feel the cold tight grip of a handcuff or grace the presence of a jail cell if I can help it. Over my dead body! So if you can't respect that you ain't rocking with my movement then Fuck you dog! I know a bunch of mother f*ckers who are..... - Love KING" twitter-5d.gif

Video After The Jump After watching Manny Pacquiao destroy Antonio Margarito last Saturday, fracturing his eye socket in the process, many boxing fans are left to womder what's next for the Filipino champion. Is Pacquiao unbeatable? Sure fire boxing Hall Of Fame boxer Bernard Hopkins doesn't think so. B-Hop thinks Manny has been ducking African American fighters for a reason. Pacquiao has never fought an African American in his illustrious career. Hopkins says he is dodging them because they would beat him. "Maybe I'm biased because I'm black, but I do think a fighter like the Ray Leonards, or anyone like that would beat a guy like Pacquiao if they come on their game, " Hopkins said. "Listen, this aint a racial thing, but then again or maybe it is...But the style that is embedded in most of us black fighters could be a problem to any other style of fighting." In Pacquiao's defense, he came up in lighter weight divisions where there aren't many black fighters. And he did recently fight Joshua Clottey, but Clottey is a native African and doesn't use the styles of boxing Hopkins referenced. Hopkins is hoping for the much anticipated Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Pacquia, because he think Money May will dominate. "Floyd Mayweather would beat Manny Pacquiao because the styles that African-American fighters -- and I mean, black fighters from the streets or the inner cities -- would be successful," said Hopkins, according to Fanhouse.com. "I think Floyd Mayweather would pot-shot Pacquiao and bust him up in between the four-to-five punches that Pacquiao throws and then set him up later on down the line." The Pacquiao camp isn't buying all this talk of race being a factor when it comes time for Manny to pick opponents. His promotor, Bob Arum told ESPN that Pac Man never ran and never will from any challenge. "I have heard that, yes. A lot of people don't articulate it. But a lot of people, in effect, hint at it," Arum said. "But you're absolutely correct, and there is no argument there. The notion that he would not fight an African-American fighter is ridiculous." So, does Bernard have a point? twitter-5d.gif

Audio After The Jump Jay-Z and Nas had one of the more entertaining rap beefs of all time. The battle produced two classic diss tracks in Nas' Ether and Jay-Z's Takeover. While most hip hop fans tip their hats to Nas when comparing the two songs, Hov seems to still be in denial. In an interview yesterday with Cipher Sounds and Rosenberg on their Juan Epstein Show. Hov talked about the two songs, acknowledged Eminem killed him on "Renegades" and gave Prodigy props for being one of the best rapper in the game at one point. "I think in the history [books] when we look back, and I don't mean no disrespect to Nas it's not even close," Hov said. "The record, if we take Ether it's 100 times better." Jay also dissed producer Ron Browz by saying the Ether beat was terrible. Prodigy of Mobb Deep and Jay have also had their differences, but Jigga gave the Queens mc praise. "I think they're fantastic," Hov said of Mobb Deep. "Prodigy at one time was one of the best rappers in the game. I don't know about [best] ever, but at one point he was close to being the best rapper in the game." As far as Eminem murdering him on Renegades, Hov chalked it up to a bad day at the office. "I think he's [Eminem] a very intelligent rapper... It's just when you make 4000 songs... I'm a constant collaborator. You know some people are gonna have better days, it's just the way it is." twitter-5d.gif
