The “Soho Karen” was a long way from home.

A white woman from California is the suspect wanted by cops in the latest headline-grabbing case of bogus accusations allegedly leveled against an innocent black person, The Post has learned.

Miya Ponsetto, 22, was identified by NYPD sources as the woman caught on camera falsely accusing the 14-year-old son of jazz trumpeter Keyon Harrold of stealing her iPhone.

Photos posted online with Ponsetto’s name also appear to match the young woman who melted down in the lobby of the Arlo Hotel in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood and tackled Keyon Harrold Jr. in a vestibule.

“No, I’m not letting him walk away with my phone!” she shrieked at one point, according to a video clip posted online by the elder Harrold.

On Wednesday night, NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison tweeted a montage of surveillance video clips that also included a shot of the woman’s face with the word “WANTED” under it in red letters.

Harrison said the NYPD “is requesting the public’s assistance locating the suspect in this video,” who he said “falsely accused an innocent 14-year-old teenager of stealing her cellphone,,,then proceeded to physically attack him and fled the location.”

Public records show there’s only one person with the name Miya Ponsetto in the US.

That person is 22 and has a last known address in Sun Valley, Calif.

She’s also associated with an address in Simi Valley, Calif., that appears to be her former family home. #miyaponsetto #miyaponsettoissohokaren #sohokaenidentified #karen #sohokaren #karensgonewild #keyonharrold #keyonharroldjr #14yearsold #teenager #falseaccusation #attack #assault #childabuse #fugitive #ontherun #nypd #arlohotel #phone #appleiphone #lockherup #jail #unmasked #newyorkcity

Lil Tjay couldn't avoid getting arrested this time -- 4 days after NYPD searched him and found nothing, cops pulled him over again ... and now he's facing some serious charges.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the rapper was busted Wednesday afternoon in Brooklyn and booked for criminal possession of a weapon, marijuana possession and grand larceny.

We're told Lil Tjay was in a vehicle with 4 others when cops pulled them over for switching lanes without signaling. Our sources say the officer smelled weed in the car, which resulted in a search and the discovery of 4 loaded handguns and a large amount of marijuana.

We're told neither the rapper nor anyone in the vehicle took ownership of the firearms or the weed, so they were all hit with possession charges. It's unclear why they're also facing the grand larceny charge.

In an odd coincidence ... this arrest comes after Lil Tjay's encounter with NYPD last weekend, when the 19-year-old's music video shoot was swarmed by cops. NYPD told us they were responding to a call about people waving guns, and though his vehicle was searched ... cops found nothing, and he was released.

Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., tore into Republicans who plan to object during the certification of the Electoral College vote next week, saying his party's willingness to entertain President Donald Trump's unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud in this year's election was fueled by worries about how the president and his base would react.

"The president and his allies are playing with fire," Sasse said in a lengthy Facebook post Wednesday night. "If you make big claims, you had better have the evidence. But the president doesn’t and neither do the institutional arsonist members of Congress who will object to the Electoral College vote."

Earlier Wednesday, Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., announced that he would object to the certification of some states' Electoral College results Jan. 6, a move that will force his Republican colleagues to vote on whether to reject Trump's false claims of fraud or disenfranchise millions of voters.

"Let’s be clear what is happening here: We have a bunch of ambitious politicians who think there’s a quick way to tap into the president’s populist base without doing any real, long-term damage. But they’re wrong — and this issue is bigger than anyone’s personal ambitions," Sasse wrote. "Adults don’t point a loaded gun at the heart of legitimate self-government."

Sasse, a frequent critic of Trump, said that in private, few Republicans actually believe the president's baseless claims of voter fraud.

"When we talk in private, I haven’t heard a single congressional Republican allege that the election results were fraudulent — not one. Instead, I hear them talk about their worries about how they will 'look' to President Trump’s most ardent supporters," Sasse wrote.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., had privately urged Republican senators not to challenge the Electoral College vote because it could put some vulnerable Republicans at odds with fervent Trump supporters.

Any objections to the Electoral College vote by Republican senators are unlikely to go anywhere, as a majority in each chamber has to vote to agree to the objection in order for a state's presidential vote to be thrown out.

Video After The Jump

New video has emerged showing the woman who falsely accused Keyon Harrold Jr. of stealing her iPhone attacking the teen and tackling him to the floor.

The video appears to be from surveillance of the Arlo Hotel in Soho, where the disturbing encounter happened the day after Christmas.

The woman, wearing a white hat, can be seen chasing 14-year-old Keyon Jr. in the lobby of the hotel, grabbing him by the waist and pulling him down as she also falls to the floor.

Two unidentified men are also in the video, including one who appears to push the boy down.

The woman had just accused Keyon Jr. of swiping her iPhone — which was later returned to her by an Uber driver.

The footage was tweeted by NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison on Wednesday night as cops continue to hunt for the woman. She faces potential charges including assault, grand larceny or attempted robbery, the NYPD has said.

“On Saturday, December 26, the woman in this video falsely accused an innocent 14-year-old teenager of stealing her cellphone,” Harrison tweeted. “She then proceeded to physically attack him and fled the location before police officers arrived on scene.”

The video also included a screengrab of the woman’s face above the word “WANTED.”

Some of the confrontation was also caught on cellphone video taken by Keyon Jr.’s father, a Grammy-winning trumpeter, and posted on Instagram.

The 22-year-old accuser, who has not been publicly identified, broke her silence to CNN on Tuesday, claiming, without proof, that she was assaulted during the incident.

“Of course I worry,” she said of possible criminal charges. “That’s not who I am.”

Looks like Lamar Odom and his fianceé, health and life coach Sabrina Parr, have split up after just over a year of dating. And things haven't exactly ended smoothly. Lamar sent a video message to his fans on Tuesday, saying "my social media platforms are being held hostage by my ex and we are working hard to recover my passwords for IG and Twitter."

He also added, "If you got an iphone im on club house so drop in, Im starting a room about Mental Health, Toxic and Abusive Relationships and Self Love."

In response, Sabrina said via (a since deleted) Instagram story, “We both know the truth and I assure you no truth is being told on their end. Now if you excuse me, I’m going to continue moving on in peace & silence.”

Meanwhile, Lamar—clearly not in the mood to move on—hit the notes app with a since-deleted message for Sabrina, accusing her of hacking his social media "every few months." He ended said note with "give me my password and my passport."

In the caption of his post, Lamar wrote "I gave you a global platform. Use it for your good or it will destroy you. All the best."

BENTON COUNTY, Mo. (KOLR) – The parents of a 4-year-old Missouri girl who was allegedly killed by neighbors who were trying to exorcise a “demon” last week were arraigned in court Monday morning.

According to court records, James and Mary Mast pleaded not guilty during an arraignment hearing Monday and will have a bond hearing on January 5.

James and his wife Mary are charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child resulting in death, among other charges.

The parents said they were instructed by their neighbors, Ethan Mast and Kourtney Aumen, not to provide aid or comfort to the family’s children or themselves when the neighbors would beat them, according to authorities.

Mast and Aumen, who face multiple charges including murder, told the family they were beating the “demons” out of the girl, investigators said.

The 4-year-old girl was found dead at the family home on Dec. 20. Benton County Sheriff Eric Knox says she had been severely beaten and dunked in an icy pond as part of what appeared to be a “religious-type episode.”

“None of the actions contained in this case are condoned by the church they attended,” Sheriff Knox said in a statement. “The investigation done so far indicates that this is an isolated incident and NOT the actions of a cult.”

James Mast did tell investigators that even though he and Ethan have the same last name, they are not related.

The Masts’ 2-year-old and infant sons have been placed in protective custody.

YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (AP) — Comedian Dave Chappelle is set to buy a former fire station near his Ohio hometown with plans to turn it into a comedy club.

The Miami Twp. Fire Station in Yellow Springs, not far from Dayton, will be sold to the 47-year-old actor’s company and turned into a club that will seat 140 people, the Dayton Daily News reported.

A member of the development corporation board who headed up the subcommittee on selling the fire station said the group wanted someone who would breathe life into the station.

“We think this will bring a new class of jobs to town,” Corrie Van Ausdal said. “We also considered that (Chappelle) is a minority business owner, he has a history of employing minorities and he is a person who has a clear commitment to amplifying voices of color.”

The closing date for the sale is set for early 2021, said Lisa Abel, president of the Yellow Springs Development Corp. who is carrying out the sale.

Chappelle’s ties to Ohio go back to his father, who graduated from Antioch College, in Yellow Springs, and later was a professor there. Chappelle lives with his family outside the village and also owns homes in nearby Xenia.

In June, Chappelle held a private, outdoor stand-up and social commentary performance to a socially distant and masked audience in Yellow Springs. It was released on Netflix and titled “8:46,” in reference to the amount of time that Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on the neck of George Floyd, a Black man, before Floyd died.

Video After The Jump

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The National Park Service has provided additional details and body camera footage following an incident where a man was tased at Petroglyph National Monument. During the December 27 incident, NPS explains that a law enforcement officer at the monument contacted two individuals who were seen climbing on and among petroglyph cliff features off-trail.

The cliffs are a protected and sacred site and hiking at the location is limited to designated trails in an effort to preserve local cultural resources. In an update to the NPS’s initial statement regarding the incident, the department states that the incident remains under investigation and was referred to the NPS Office of Professional Responsibility.

Investigators will review the video that was captured by one of the individuals which was posted to social media as well as body camera footage from the NPS law enforcement officer. NPS states they are now sharing additional information from the incident in an effort to provide as much transparency as possible.

Before the individual, later identified as Darrell House, was tased, NPS reports that the officer tried to resolve the interaction with an educational contact and a warning. During this interaction, both individuals are said to have provided fake names and birth dates.

NPS explains that in consultation with the United States Attorney’s Office, the male received citations for being in a closed area off-trail, providing false information, and failing to comply with a lawful order. The female individual received citations for providing false information and being in a closed area off-trail.

The NPS states that it values its partnership with tribal communities and “actively works to ensure that tribes and tribal members have full and appropriate access to their sacred sites.”

Early Wednesday, dance historians and lovers of all things hip-hop were saddened by reports that Adolfo Quinones, more commonly known as Shabba-Doo, had died.

The dancer-actor-choreographer — a founding member of The Original Lockers, whose pioneer moves as part of the street-dancing dynamos inspired a generation and fueled a culture — was 65. As as early Wednesday, no cause of death or any other information had been announced.

Just a day before, Quinones, who was known for his acrobatic poplocking skills and roles in the 1984 films Breakin’ and sequel Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo seven months later, had posted on Instagram about falling ill. He was pictured lying in bed, but he was thrilled that his test for coronavirus had come back negative.

“Good news y’all! I’m feeling all better,” the Chicago-born and raised Quinones wrote. “I’m just a wee bit sluggish from my cold, but the good news is I’m Covid 19 negative! Woo hoo!!!”

At 8 a.m. PST, social media found itself rocked by news of Quinones’ death, delivered via fellow Lockers legend and longtime Quinones pal Toni Basil.

“It is with extreme sadness The Lockers family announces the unexpected passing of our beloved Adolfo Shabba-doo Quinones,” she announced.

Video After The Jump

Tyrese has more to say about the divorce he announced Tuesday night ... he says Black families and marriages are under attack, and it all has to do with kids watching and ultimately mimicking their parents.

Tyrese announced he and wife Samantha are divorcing after almost 4 years of marriage. He says it's super friendly, but is now explaining why he thinks the marriage fell apart.

Tyrese says ... "I've wrestled with this question ... How can we naturally know how to BE something we were never raised by? Most of us were raised in broken homes with NO examples of what being a husband, wife or FATHER is."

Tyrese posted this video of happier times, when their daughter was learning how to walk.

Tyrese seems to feel remorse nonetheless, saying, "... I hope you know that I did the very best I could ... I truly did."

And, he still holds out hope he and Samantha can repair what's broken ... "I pray we leave the door open because the God we serve is a mountains mover and can make a way out of no way."

In announcing the divorce, Tyrese said, "Our intention is to remain the best of friends & strong coparents."

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Joe Louis Clark, the baseball bat and bullhorn-wielding principal whose unwavering commitment to his students and uncompromising disciplinary methods inspired the 1989 film “Lean on Me,” died at his Florida home on Tuesday after a long battle with an unspecified illness, his family said. He was 82.

Clark started teaching at a Paterson grade school in Passaic County, New Jersey, before becoming principal of PS 6 Grammar School.

He was later hired as principal of the crime and drug-ridden Eastside High School. In one day, he expelled 300 students for fighting, vandalism, abusing teachers and drug possession, and lifted the expectations of those who remained, continually challenging them to perform better. Roaming the hallways with a bullhorn and a baseball bat, Clark’s unorthodox methods won him both admirers and critics nationwide. President Ronald Reagan offered Clark a White House policy adviser position after his success at the high school.

Morgan Freeman starred as Clark in the 1989 film “Lean on Me” that was loosely based on Clark’s tenure at Eastside.

After he retired from Eastside in 1989, Clark worked for six years as the director of Essex County Detention House, a juvenile detention center in Newark. He also wrote “Laying Down the Law: Joe Clark’s Strategy for Saving Our Schools,” detailing his methods for turning around Eastside High.

He retired to Gainesville, Florida.

Clark was born in Rochelle, Georgia, on May 8, 1938. His family moved north to Newark, New Jersey, when he was 6 years old. After graduating from Newark Central High School, Clark received his bachelor’s degree from William Paterson College (now William Paterson University), a master’s degree from Seton Hall University, and an honorary doctorate from the U.S. Sports Academy. Clark also served as a U.S. Army Reserve sergeant and a drill instructor.

Clark is survived by his children, Joetta, Hazel and JJ, and grandchildren, Talitha, Jorell and Hazel. His wife, Gloria, preceded him in death.
