Beanie Sigel never ran, never will.

Flashback to 2001, Brooklyn's Jay-Z and Queen's Nas are embroiled in a legendary rap beef. Nas let off the shot heard round the world with "Ether", but the battle between Hov and Nas was far from over.  It got even more personal as Jigga would claim that he had slept with Nas' baby's mom.

They continued to beef well into 2002. By that time the boroughs had chosen sides, QB was firmly behind Nas just as BK was for Jigga.

Either assuming he would be ok in Queens, or just not giving a f*ck, Beanie Sigel and Young Chris of the Young Gunz decided to perform at a club in Queens.

In the eyes of some in the Queens crowd though, being that Beans and Chris were signed to Roc-A-Fella Records at the time, they were seen as the enemy.

As Beanie & Chris perform someone throws something at them, prompting Beanie to throw his mic into the crowd.

While not everything was caught on tape. There's enough footage to show that both Beanie and Chris were lucky to get out of there alive that night.

Reportedly someone was shout outside of the venue and later died.

Video After The Jump Probably the greatest debate among hip hop heads is who the greatest mc of all time is. If you polled 100 people I would bet 90% of them could name a greatest rapper in their mind. One rapper who would definitely get top 5 dead or alive consideration is Nas. He feels like rap hasn't been around long enough to definitively name one the greatest. "Somebody asked me who was the greatest mc of all time. And I think it's too premature, it doesn't make any sense," Nas said. "Like when you ask most singers who do they like, who were they inspired by. They might not say Usher, they might not say Trey Songz, they might not say Justin Timberlake. They might say Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder because they had the opportunity to look at these guys' whole body of work. And even if I say [LL] Cool J was the greatest of all time, no doubt he's the greatest. But when you put that title on yourself, it's almost like burying yourself." What Nas says makes sense in a way, but I think based on what we have seen throughout rap's history, it's possible to choose a rapper who is the greatest of all time. At least until now. What do you guys think? Do you have a # 1 above all choice? If so, who is it?

Eccentric singer, Kelis has reached a point in her career where she doesn't want to be a typical pop star. The need to make music that has mass appeal is not something she is interested in anymore. In a recent interview with UK's Guardian, Nas' baby mama talked about her career and trends she sees in the industry that she doesn't like. "Everyone is trying so hard to be different that it's contrived and unnatural. I find it hard to appreciate," she says. "Everyone's attention span is getting shorter. As a result, everything – films, music, art – gets watered down and dumber. Every now and again, you get something great, but not often." Fed up with industry trends, the 31 year old singer is now focused on making music she enjoys. Even if that means fans might not get it sometimes. "There's a difference between a pop star and an artist. Pop stars have to be perfect all the time; an artist is allowed, on occasion, to suck. And I put myself in that category because I sometimes suck. I'm not trying to please the masses. It's not going to happen, so I don't try," she admits. "I think I brought an honesty to music. There are prettier chicks, better dancers, and lots of people out there could probably sing better than me. I'm just the only me there is. And that's what makes it worth something. I don't think I'm the best at anything. It's just there's no one else like me, and somehow it works." twitter-5d.gif

Video After The Jump The borough of Queens, New York has produced some of the greatest rappers ever. Spittas like LL Cool J, 50 Cent, Mobb Deep, Nas, CNN, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Run DMC, Nicki Minaj and of course Cormega all hail from QB. Mega Montana recently treated the crowd at Club Santos in New York to a great concert. He brought Nature and A.Z. to the stage. A.Z. and Cormega were original members of The Firm along with Foxy Brown and Nas. Nature replaced Cormega when their full album was released, but Mega did appear on the very first The Firm song "Affirmative Action." (AllHipHop.com) After gaining the attention of fans earlier this week with a heart felt letter from behind bars, incarcerated New Orleans rapper Lil' Wayne is making headlines in a less favorable way.

Apparently the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is after Lil' Wayne’s fortunes, seeking over $1.13 million dollars in back taxes for the years 2004, 2005 and 2007.

The IRS filed and a lien against his One Family Foundation this past June in Dade County Florida courts, as the lien maintains the same address as his charitable organization.

This is the second tax lien filed against Wayne in the last 2 years as in 2008 he paid off a tax debt of $977,840

Representatives for Lil' Wayne could not be reached for comments at the time of press release.

Multiple sources confirmed with AllHipHop.com that the IRS has a special unit that tails and tracks the artists, as one of the methods used to keep a tab on their earnings.

The “issue management team” was formed in 2007 and its goal is to get unclaimed tax money from athletes and entertainers in the United States and foreigners who come to tour the country.

“A few years ago, they concluded that athlete and entertainer taxes might be escaping their radar. So they reinstated a division to only deal with this area,” said Bill Zysblat of the global touring/accounting company RZO Productions.

A number of rappers have fallen into tax troubles since 2007.

Artists and executives like Suge Knight ($6 million), Nas ($3 million), DMX ($1.5 million), Lil Wayne ($1 million), Swizz Beatz ($645,000), Snoop Dogg ($598,000), Fat Joe ($140,000), Method Man ($40,000) and numerous others have had to account to the IRS in the past year alone.

A source told AllHipHop.com that in the pursuit of the tax dollars, a variety of artists have landed in trouble for other infractions, such as gun possession and a variety of drug charges.

The IRS is also investigating a number of record labels and artists, who ran money through their non-profits for commercial gains.

Video After The Jump

Philadelphia rapper Freeway, known for his unique flow and association with Jay-Z, sat down with Hard Knock TV to talk about what he's been up to recently.

With a new label situation at Rhyme Sayers, Freezer compares being there to his days at Roc-A-Fella Records.

"At the Roc, just like Rhyme Sayers we had creative control of our project. Both of my albums at Roc-A-Fella I just went in did what I did and turned the albums in, it's the same way with Rhyme Sayers. Towards the end of my career with Roc-a-Fella when everything was falling apart. The attention shifted from us [the artists] to what was going on with Jay and Dame and all that. And they wasn't concentrating on our projects as much as they should have."

Freeway has watched as the Roc dynasty crumbled. Being a part of State Property with Beanie Sigel, Peedi Crakk, Young Gunz and Oschino & Sparks has put Freezer in an uneasy position.

For the most part he's been quiet and not taken sides as Beanie has taken his beef with Jay-Z public, but he understands the situation.

"Sh*t is f*cked up man, me being a part of it I just wish sh*t was how it was. I know Jay love Beans, I know Beans love Jay. Communication is the key, if you don't know what's on that man's mind and you aint talked to him in months you liable to think anything."

As bad as things seem now, Freeway wouldn't rule out a Roc reunion.

"If Jay and Nas can do some sh*t together. Communication is the key, if we can communicate now maybe we can get it done, If not f*ck it."

After serving nine years in prison for busting off during the infamous shootout in Club New York where he was allegedly defending Diddy, then having Diddy turn his back on him during the trial, and then being deported to Belize upon being released last October, most of us were expecting Shyne to come out spitting nothing but hot fi-yah. Then earlier this month, “All My Life,” a collaboration featuring him that was slated for DJ Khaled’s upcoming album, Victory, dropped. Shyne-Po sounded sluggish, bored, and slightly Eli Porter-ish. Of course Khaled came to his senses, and left the subpar track off the final tracklisting.

Thank God for major labels! Karma is smiling the fuck down on Shyne as our homey Miss Info announced that he had signed a seven-figure deal with Def Jam. The crazy thing is this is the third allegedly million dollar contract Po has gotten. We can only speculate that the ink must have already been dry when “All My Life” came out, so Def Jam had no choice but to act like they were happy and excited about their newest addition. Then again, maybe it wouldn’t have made a difference because labels have always believed the hype and opened their wallets to prove it. Shyne won’t be the first or last rapper to rape a label, er, rob a label, er, not hold up his end of the bargain. Take a look at some of Rap’s biggest contractual fails over the years

Atrist: Shyne
Label/Year: Bad Boy 98/2000, Def Jam/2004
Payout: Rumored to be $1 million each
Bad Boy won a bidding war in 1998 for Shyne, a Brooklyn young buck being touted as “the next Biggie,” but his relations with the label soured two years later when Puff threw him under the bus and backed up… twice. After taking the fall, and the 10 years, in Diddy’s club shooting case, Shyne eventually severed all ties with the label but not before he saw his debut achieve platinum status. Staying true to the g-code while on the stand kept his street credibility en tact, and prompted a second bidding war over the imprisoned MC in 2004 (based mostly around speculation of early parole that year). Def Jam won and, despite Po’s attempts to get free failing miserably, released a miserable album of Frankensteined outtakes and literally phoned-in freestyles. Needless to say we totally get why they’d gamble another milli on him..

Artist: The Lox

Label/Year: Bad Boy/1999
Payout: $3 Million
The Lox had a fallout with Diddy and Bad Boy back in 1999 after they were only able to Harlem shake their shiny-suited asses to gold certification. Their original team, Ruff Ryders, who’d temporarily superceded Puff as the flavor of the month, ended up paying roughly $3 million to buy out their contract (but not their publishing—the three’re gonna have to pry that out of Puff’s cold dead hands!). Despite it’s more street sound, and Swizz laced beats, the LOX subsequent album failed to find the same success as their debut, and now 10 years later they’re resigning to Bad Boy. Let the LOX go… home.

Artist: Kool G Rap

Label/Year: Rawkus/2000
Payout: Rumored to be $1 million
Old heads and backpackers from sea to shining sea rejoiced when the Kool Genius of Rap was signed to the indie powerhouse Rawkus for a rumored $1 million. In an effort to dig themselves out of the hole, Rawkus put pressure on the pop hit-less legend to produce a pop hit. After years, and hundreds of thousands of dollars, of recording, both parties lost hope and The Giacana Story LP was was released in 2002 on Koch, where apparently the road to the riches ends

Artist: Mobb Deep

Label/Year: G-Unit/2005
Payout: undisclosed amount + 2 recoupable Porsches
Mobb Deep had a major bidding war after releasing their Free Agents mixtapes, and courting different labels. They were originally going to go with Interscope, but chose to sign with 50 and even got G Unit tattoos as a show of solidarity. Well, Blood Money didn’t do that great and fans didn’t seem to be feeling Hollywood Hav and Las Vegas P. Now P is in jail, Hav has been quiet, and 50 announced recently that Mobb Deep is no longer signed to G Unit. At least they still got those tattoos, though

Artist: Papoose

Label/Year: Jive/2006
Payout: $1.5 Million
After winning an ‘05 Justo Award for underground rapper of the year and landing a notable feature on Busta Rhymes’ “Touch It (Remix),” Jive signed him for $1.5 million. The deal turned out to be a ginormous disappointment, with Pap citing “creative differences” upon parting ways with the label in ’07. His debutNacirema Dream never surfaced, which we can’t understand being that we know lots of girls who want to hear songs about fitted hats and letters being slaughtered.

Artist: Nas

Label/Year: Def Jam/2006
Payout: $3 million
After Nas and Jay-Z squashed their beef, God’s Son walked into the lion’s den and signed with Jay-Z who was the president of Def Jam at the time. He didn’t do as well as expected, only selling gold with Hip Hop Is Dead and his Untitled albums. On top of that, most of that money he got is probably going towards those $44,000 alimony payments to his ex-wife Kelis. Ouch.

Artist: Jim Jones

Label/Year:Columbia/2007
Payout: rumored $1 mil
After almost going gold independently with Hustler’s P.O.M.E. (Product Of My Environment) on E1, and scoring a top 5 hit with “We Fly High,” Jones’ stock was at an all-time high. The rollout for his major label debut was augmented by an off-Broadway play, plenty of take-out from Philippe Chow’s, and declarations from Dame Dash that it was on par with Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt. Unfortunately Pray IV Reign barely sold 40,000 its first week. Now Capo is back at E1. We’re guessing his takeout comes in Styrofoam cartons now.

Artist: Mariah Carey

Label/Year: EMI Records/2001
Payout: $80 Million
Given that Mariah had sold a shitload of albums and was the biggest female artist at the time, it seemed like a good idea when EMI gave her a $20 million advance per album, a $6 million music-video production fund, and about $1.5 million to promote four singles. Then Carey went on TRL with an ice cream cart, did a strip-tease routine for Carson Daly, suffered a nervous breakdown, made a piece-of-shit movie, Glitter, and an accompanying soundtrack that flopped. EMI Records quickly came to its senses and bought out her contract for $24 million.

Nas's baby mama Kelis had a show at the Film Lounge during the 2010 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, on Friday (January 22). Looking like a cross between the Statue Of Liberty a Hawaiian Hula Girl and an Exotic Dancer. She mingled with guests while getting her drink on. She certainly seemed to be in good spirits. Those $51,000 a month spousal and child supports payments from Nas must be rolling in again.

2009 is behind us and the hype machine is starting to rev up on artists and albums for 2010. The interesting thing about "most anticipated albums" lists is that in many cases the hype proves to be far superior to the finished product. But that doesn't really matter at this time of the year. So let's take a look at Vibe's 2010 list of albums they think we most want to hear. # 10

Andre 3000, TBD Release Date: 2010? Expected Production: A studio loner, it’s likely Three Stacks’ solo LP will be mostly self-produced, but don’t count out Outkast affiliates Rico Wade or DJ Swift. Expected Collaborations: If 2003's The Love Below is any indication, Andre will keep the guest list extra-exclusive. Partner-in-rhyme Big Boi may be the one and only guest spot, if any. Why The Buzz? Hip-hop heads collectively sighed after discovering Andre Benjamin’s deeper-than-rap raps were replaced by idiosyncratic crooning on his first solo effort, The Love Below. Today, lyricists from Fabolous to T.I. are hitting notes, and maybe that’s a good thing––for them––because each infrequent verse from ’Dre threatens that coveted hottest rapper alive title. While his inclusion here is wishful thinking, lets just hope his long-awaited rap LP isn’t on a Detox-like schedule. # 9

Nas and Damien Marley, Distant Relatives (Tuff Gong/Def Jam) Release Date: March 16, 2010 Production: Damien and brother Stephen handle the bulk of the album, but 9th Wonder and long time Nas collaborator Salaam Remi chip in also. Expected Collaborations: Somali rhymer K’naan is featured on two cuts, while songstress Joss stone and legend Stevie Wonder lend their vocals for “Our Generation.” Why the Buzz? For the first time, reggae and hip-hop unite for an entire album. And who better kick off such a happening than two of the best to do it in their respectable arenas? God’s Son and Bob’s son will both preach and teach as expected, but also entertain. “As We Enter,” the album’s first leak, promises the project’s going to be equal parts “patois and rap star.” # 8

Erykah Badu, New Amerykah, Part II (Return of the Ankh) (Universal Motown) Release Date: Feb. 23, 2010 Expected Production: An eclectic lineup that includes 9th Wonder, Sa-Ra, James Poyser, Madlib, Karriem Riggins, the late J. Dilla and Ms. Badu herself. Expected Collaborations: Roots band leader/drummer ?uestlove offers his masterful hands. But the Lil Wayne-featured track “Jump in the Air” (one of 10 versions of a two-fisted, rap-funk sound clash that will feature 10 MC’s) is floating around the web via leaked download. Why the Buzz? The usually forward-thinking Badu gives a sincere nod to her jazzy torch song style that first made her a neo-soul superstar with 1997’s Baduizm, making it one of her most accessible projects to date. Still, there’s plenty of the left field brilliance of 2008’s critically acclaimed standout New Amerykah, Pt. 1: 4th World War. # 7

T.I., TBD (Grand Hustle/Atlantic) Expected Release: TBD Possible Production: Tip should have plenty of options. Expect him to pull from the likes of Just Blaze, DJ Toomp, Swizz Beatz and Kanye West. Possible Collaborations: In the past, T.I.’s worked with everyone from Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes to Justin Timberlake and Rihanna, so we expect more high-caliber cameos. An Alfa Mega sighting––not so much. Why the Buzz? T.I.’s only halfway out of jail, but reportedly already all the way back in the studio. For roughly six months, the king’s been absent from his throne. Gucci Mane (now imprisoned) and a host of other Southern style MCs have emerged during his leave. We’re anxious to see if he’ll put them back in their place. # 6

Lupe Fiasco, Lasers (Atlantic) Expected Release: Spring 2010 Expected Production: Instead of shelling out top dollars for super producers, Lupe works exclusively with his 1st & 15th producers Soundtrakk and Prolyfic. Expected Collaborations: Contributions from his stable of artists, including Gemstones and Nikki Jean Why the Buzz? While in the past Lupe dazzled true hip-hop heads with his intricate wordplay, he’s always shirked the spotlight. After reneging on retiring from the game, though, he’s now out to prove he should be No. 1 on everybody’s list (see: his Thanksgiving mixtape, Enemy of the State). Which means more work for those still decoding metaphors from his last two albums, 2006’s Food & Liquor and 2007’s The Cool. # 5

Young Jeezy, Thug Motivation 103 (Def Jam) Release Date: Feb. 9, 2010 Expected Production: Kanye West is the first producer invited to Mr. Birthday Bash’s motivation party. After assisting Mr. West in Hawaii with 808s & Heartbreak in 2008, expect the “Put On” creator to give Jeezy a bunch of tools to teach. Southern beats kings Shawty Redd, Zaytoven and Drumma Boy will also lend a hand. Expected Collaborations: Nothing is confirmed yet, but Jeezy reportedly has a wish list that includes Lil Wayne (featured on the leaked “Scared Money”), Eminem, Jay-Z and Kanye. Why the Buzz? On his last album, The Recession, Jeezy took a break from talking about what could be to rap about what is. With the America’s economy headed back in the right direction, the snowman’s back to being the trap’s go-to professor. Class is back in session. # 4

Sade, Soldier of Love (Epic) Release Date: February 8, 2010 Expected Production: Producer Mike Pela has handled the boards since the smoky vocalist’s 1984 debut Diamond Life and will be featured on her sixth studio effort. Expected Collaborations: Sade’s longtime bandmates, which include steady guitarist, sax man Stuart Matthewman and keyboardist Andre Hale, once again share writing duties with the Nigeria-born Brit. Why the Buzz? Sade’s first new studio album since 2000’s Lover’s Rock has all the classic, haunting, soul searching hallmarks of her previous releases, as well as a few curve pitches. The title track and first single “Soldier of Love” sounds like a Sade-led Portishead scoring a ‘60s-era Sergio Leone spaghetti western while the groove-heavy “Bring Me Home” is destined to become a freestyle favorite for underground MC’s. # 3

Usher, Raymond vs. Raymond (LaFace) Expected Release Date: March 2010 Possible Production: Ursh is getting help from old favorites like Jermaine Dupri, Sean Garrett, Rico Love, The Neptunes and Polow Da Don. Expected Collaborations: Usher’s sixth set will feature a few rappers including Nicki Minaj (as heard on the leaked “Little Freak”), Plies on “Hey Daddy” and possibly Jay-Z. Why the Buzz? In an era where most artists pray for a gold album, Usher cursed the fact that he only went platinum with his mild-mannered 2008 effort Here I Stand. But Mr. Entertainment’s single again, meaning that he’s cutting the monogamous lyrics loose and is back to macking like it’s 2004. # 2

Kanye West, TBD (G.O.O.D./Def Jam) Expected Release: Summer 2010 Possible Production: As usual, West is expected to handle the majority of the album's melodies. Possible Collaborations: Big brother Jay-Z will likely make an appearance along with Young Jeezy. Members of West’s G.O.O.D. team, Common, Mr. Hudson and Kid Cudi may also come aboard. Why the Buzz? After taking three months off to get his clear his mind, it appears Mr. West has more to say than ever. And he's starting fresh; as 'Ye's blog tells it, he made his grand return to the studio on New Year's Day. 808s & Heartbreak, his eccentrically emo 2008 effort, featured the rapper singing his Auto-Tuned heart out. We're hoping ‘Ye’s next effort will be a hybrid of heart-on-sleeve croons and boisterous rhymes. Just look at all the cheers he received when he crashed Kid Cudi’s Nokia Theater stage last week. They’re ready. And it appears he is, too. # 1

Drake, Thank Me Later (Universal) Expected Release: March 2010 Expected Production: His longtime collaborators Omen, 40 and Boi-1Da (“Best I Ever Had”). He also has studio sessions with Kanye West scheduled this January. Expected Collaborations: Confirmed guests include Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Bun B. And, last we heard, Drake was looking to nab Sade. Why the Buzz? On top of a classic mixtape (that’s right, classic) and an Eminem collabo, the golden boy of 2009 has one of the most anticipated debuts since 50 Cent. In many eyes, Drizzy hasn’t spit a horrible verse or song yet (see: “Forever,” “Fear”), so the ball is his to drop. But with his sing-songy flow and witty stanzas, failure is unlikely. HipHopWired Reports It's funny how perception does a full tailspin as a person becomes progressively famous. As an artist continues to get the embrace of the mainstream, especially those in Hip Hop , questions begin to arise as to how they were able to claim that success and there is even speculation that is business being dealt with evils. Since “D'Evils,” Jay-Z has been heavily scrutinized by many that feel as though he looks at himself as God and as a member of a secret society that is trying to usher in a new world order. Churches have been the venue for preachers to find “hidden message” within his music such as “Luficer” where he allegedly proclaims, ‘Murder, murder, Jesus, Jesus. Pastor Claims Jay-Z Song "Lucifer" Has Demonic Message The most recent attack is from a young youth pastor that made the claim that “Empire State of Mind” was telling people that they cannot depend on Jesus to save them. Youth Pastor Calls Jay-Z Out For Dissing Jesus On "Empire State Of Mind" Even the visual for “Run This Town” was interpreted by some as his imagery for the world once a new order is finally established, if it's not already in the process.

50 Cent recently spoke with Rolling Stone and made the statement that Jay-Z only looks for his own best interests and has a mentality as though he's above everyone else. “He has a king complex, he thinks he's fucking Jesus, you know what I mean? This J-Hova shit." Usually known for his subliminal shots instead of attacking a problem head on, the rapper has finally taken the direct approach to the latest to make the statement that he goes against God. Back in 2006, hoping to finally dead the allegation, the rapper conducted an interview with radio host Egypt on New York's Power 105.1 to address the allegations that have been made against him. At the time, a man known as Craig Lewis of EX Ministries developed a DVD titled, The Truth Behind Hip Hop, labeling Jay as a culprit in working with the devil. “He should be arrested, seriously. My position is not unlike anyone else who ascends to the top of their field. That comes with the game. But that's crazy. That might be the craziest one I've had.” Although not a man to find his way into the church to praise, he adds that he still maintains a relationship with God no matter what his particular opinion is on religion. “Nah, I'm more spiritual that [having] organized religion. I have a personal relationship with God…I believe in karma, I believe in cause and effect…but religion, I have my opinions about religion.” From throwing up the diamond signs, “symbolizing” pyramids to secret handshakes between himself and Nas to rumors of him being a Freemason, the rapper has been the poster child to what some would perceive as being a hidden evil consuming the Hip Hop world.

People feeling that he has the ability to fire Charlamagne Tha God and keep Chris Brown from performing are all indications of the fact that some look at Hov as having the power to have complete control over what goes on in music. Jay-Z doesn't stand alone as being under fire of devil worship as rappers such as Snoop Dogg, Bone Thugs and DMX have allegedly negotiated with the force of darkness in order to make it in the music world. Religion, an aspect of life meant to instill some sense of hope and a desire for a better life has been heavily misconstrued as time had progressed. How can a person find belief in something when others are so quick to shun the idea of individual beliefs and opinions? Condemning an artist's success to embracing evil is what causes such a separation throughout the country and the world.

Lack of understanding and an unwillingness to comprehend difference is a weak trait to have an feed to others. Occult Secrets of Jay Z, Kanye & Nas
