JAY-Z (413)

It's been a year since Kanye West snatched the mic from country singer Taylor Swift's hands during her acceptance speech for the Best Female Video award at the 2009 VMA's and announced, "I'm sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time," Apparently Yeezy is still dealing with a lot of regret, or maybe even anger over the incident. Although he reportedly apologized to Swift, and she accepted, Ye is using his Twitter account to vent about how he was ostracised after the debacle. Kanye is going off this morning (September 4) about the media mistreating him, and the perception that he is racist. "Man I love Twitter... I've always been at the mercy of the press but no more... The media tried to demonize me They wanted yall to believe I was a monster in real life so you guys wouldn't listen or buy my music anymore I feel like they were waiting for the opportunity to go in all the way on me and when it came they beat me to a pulp Even now a lot of articles start there first 2 paragraphs about how much of an a**hole I am I accept the idea (ideal) that perception is reality When I say perception is reality I mean whatever you think is the truth... is your truth Some people's truth is Kanye is racist... It's not my truth but I do believe it's my Karma.... walk with me."

Kanye's last tweet is referring to him famously announcing that, "George Bush doesn't care about black people" during a live telethon for Hurricane Katrina relief on NBC in 2005. Many may have agreed with those comment regarding George Bush, if not the platform used to convey them. But the Taylor Swift incident left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. Kanye had a lot more to say about that. "How deep is the scar... I bled hard.. cancelled tour with the number one pop star in the world ... closed the doors of my clothing office Had to let employees go... for the first time I felt the impact of my brash actions ... I felt the recession from an ownership side People booed when I would go to concerts and the performer mentioned my name There are people who don't dislike me... they absolutely hate me!"

"That's when you realize perception is reality. I've been straying from this subject on twitter but I have to give it to you guys raw now. If you google A**hole my face may very well pop up 2 pages into the search. People tweeted that they wish I was dead... No listen. They wanted me to die people. I carry that. I smile and take pictures through that I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that's so beautiful and I want her to have it. If she won't take it then I'll perform it for her She had nothing to do with my issues with award shows. She had no idea what hit her. She's justa lil girl with dreams like the rest of us. We're both artist and the media and managers are trying to get between us. Everyone wants to capitalize off this is some way There are people who have named there kids after me... can you imagine that next day in school. Even though I don't have kids It's not about race America. No one in our position ever stands up and says anything anymore I am not a bad person. Even in that moment I was only trying to do good but people don't always need my help Beyonce didn't need that. MTV didn't need that and Taylor and her family friends and fans definitely didn't want or need that TAYLOR LOVES RAP MUSIC... I LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC."

Well damn, this dude was on a roll. I honestly think he needs to let it go at this point though. twitter-5d.gif

In her new promotional campaign for the Dereon 2010 Fall collection, R&B singer Beyonce is seen photographed in leggings which look extremely similar to leggings from Iceland’s E-label.This is naturally huge and I am still half in shock. I didn’t twig straight away that this was her own label: I just thought she was wearing our leggings. It is practically just copy/paste,” says Heba Hallgrimsdottir, one of the owners of E-label. The designer of the black studded with metal spikes leggings, Asgrimur Mar Fridriksson, confirmed that Beyonce purchased the exact pair from their E-label brand at a branch of Topshop in London last November, stating it is a very “strange coincidence.” As to a lawsuit, Heba said her company needs to do more due diligence before going forward. “I have only just heard about this and no decision has yet been taken. We need to inspect her brand’s trousers closer because, according to law, it is not copied if a certain number of things have been changed from the original design,” Heba said. She added that Beyonce’s E-label leggings were bought from the Edit section of Topshop, which sell designs from little-known labels. Heba also states that E-label has not copyrighted its design, but believes that widespread media coverage of Beyonce’s purchase last November, both in Iceland and overseas, would be evidence enough to prove plagiarism – if E-label eventually decides that the new design was indeed copied from their own. The 'Halo' singer ' who is married to hip-hop superstar Jay-Z ' says she's always had good friendships with females and thinks that has played a big part in her never falling for the wrong type of man. She said: 'I think I am a feminist in a way. It's not something I consciously decided I was going to be; perhaps it's because I grew up in a singing group with other women, and that was so helpful to me. It kept me out of so much trouble and out of bad relationships. My friendships with my girls are just so much a part of me that there are things I am never going to do that would upset that bond. I never want to betray that friendship because I love being a woman and I love being a friend to other women. ' think we learn a lot from our female friends ' female friendship is very, very important.' While her personal relationships are very important to her, Beyonce admits she sometimes finds it hard to balance everything in her life. She told You magazine: 'For me, balance is always really hard to find. I love so many different things, and to have the discipline to turn certain things away and focus on one thing at a time so that I can give it 100 per cent is really hard. 'Probably the biggest challenge in my life is time ' making sure I have time to be a wife, to be a singer, to be a songwriter, to be an actor and still have time for my clothing line and now for my perfume. I am like any other woman who has a child, who has a husband, who has a job. I think it's the hardest thing about being a woman because we have so many responsibilities.' The young beast mc J. Cole is about to drop his debut cd. And instead of filling it up with features, Cole is doing something almost unheard of these days by doing the entire album solo.

"No features man, you might get a last minute Jay-Z feature or you might not......yeah you probably will, but other than that no features man," he tells Toure'. I feel like it says something...it makes a statement to be able to come out and put out that first album and not have any features.....no major features or not every hottest rapper in the game. It says something, I'll get em on the next one, but this one I got too much to say to really be giving up first spots."

One thing you don't want to do in J.Cole's presence is diss Canibus. He tells Toure about a fight he got into with an old head dissing 'Bus.

"We was on the bus, I think we were like going to some basketball game. It was this older dude, he didn't know what he was talking about. He was dissing Canibus and I got mad."

J. Cole's debut album 'Cole World' is coming soon.

What clown said hip hip was dead? You can't kill an art form that's driven from the energy and love that's put into it by both the artists and the fans,

No doubt there are going to be times fads pass through hip hop like mohawks and skinny jeans, but at the end of the day talented spittas and producers will bring back that real sh*t.

I typed all that just to publicly admit I've been sleeping on J.Cole. You know, he was Jay-Z's 1st on Roc Nation artist, blah blah. It kind of went in one ear and out of the other.

But I've recently realized the error of my ways. The man is the truth and a big part a rap's future.

On Friday (July 16) Cole came to Philadelphia as part of the Heineken Inspire tour. The show also featured legendary turntable King Jazzy Jeff and R&B songstress Marshia Ambrosius.

Cole did his thing and paid respect to Philly by bringing out Freeway for a couple songs.

It was very interesting hearing and see the old Roc-A-Fella on the same stage with Jay-Z's new Roc Nation MC.

We get to see J.Cole perform "Last Call" before he brings Freeway out to perform "Roc The Mic" and "Who We Are"

Philadelphia rapper Freeway, known for his unique flow and association with Jay-Z, sat down with Hard Knock TV to talk about what he's been up to recently.

With a new label situation at Rhyme Sayers, Freezer compares being there to his days at Roc-A-Fella Records.

"At the Roc, just like Rhyme Sayers we had creative control of our project. Both of my albums at Roc-A-Fella I just went in did what I did and turned the albums in, it's the same way with Rhyme Sayers. Towards the end of my career with Roc-a-Fella when everything was falling apart. The attention shifted from us [the artists] to what was going on with Jay and Dame and all that. And they wasn't concentrating on our projects as much as they should have."

Freeway has watched as the Roc dynasty crumbled. Being a part of State Property with Beanie Sigel, Peedi Crakk, Young Gunz and Oschino & Sparks has put Freezer in an uneasy position.

For the most part he's been quiet and not taken sides as Beanie has taken his beef with Jay-Z public, but he understands the situation.

"Sh*t is f*cked up man, me being a part of it I just wish sh*t was how it was. I know Jay love Beans, I know Beans love Jay. Communication is the key, if you don't know what's on that man's mind and you aint talked to him in months you liable to think anything."

As bad as things seem now, Freeway wouldn't rule out a Roc reunion.

"If Jay and Nas can do some sh*t together. Communication is the key, if we can communicate now maybe we can get it done, If not f*ck it."

When Damon Dash pulled a Roc-A-Fella chain out of his vault several months ago and presented it to Curren$y, it was just a celebration of their friendship. Now, the chain means much more. Dash is resurrecting Roc-A-Fella Records and plans to make Curren$y's Pilot Talk the label's first new release on June 15.

"I think we just having fun, really," said Dash, sitting in his office at DD172 next to Curren$y. "[Curren$y] inspired me to dust off the chains. We brought 'em out for kicks, just 'cause we could. Then we was like, 'F--- it, let's put it out through Roc-A-Fella.' It was really more something he wanted to do. Basically, 'cause we havin' such a good time, and the opportunity's there, we was like, 'Why not?' "

"What that means, what that shows me, is that dude thinks as highly of me as I do him," Curren$y said about releasing an LP on the label Dash co-founded with Jay-Z and Kareem "Biggs" Burke in the mid-1990s. "I know what's behind that. We all know and the fans know what that represented at the height of it. The aesthetic of it."

Dash said he hadn't been having "fun" in music since he, Jay and Biggs dissolved their partnership several years ago. But meeting and working with artists such as Curren$y and Jay Electronica who come through his DD172 facility brought the old feelings back.

"The funny thing is, people don't know that Roc-A-Fella wasn't meant to sell records," Dame said. "It was meant to show the respect and the honor amongst each other as friends. It was a friendship thing. That's what people liked. It's what made Roc-A-Fella appealing. It's odd, because I f--- with [Curren$y]. I kinda like him. When I met him, I wasn't as familiar with his music. My nephews and Sean O'Connell put me up on him. I liked him as a friend. Then I start seeing he's super nice with the rhymes, then I started seeing his influence. It's similar to the way we felt back in those days. It's working out."

The last album to come out on Roc-A-Fella was Jadakiss' The Last Kiss in April 2009. The label had been under Jay-Z's sole custody since the breakup of Hov, Biggs and Dash.

"Def Jam or Universal bought the brand. I think the 'beef' [with us and Jay-Z] was that Jay made it clear he didn't want me or Biggs to be a part of it. That's really where it was at. Now that he doesn't work for Def Jam anymore, he doesn't have the right to use the name. So there's no reason for us not to use it. It's there, and it's a brand that's not being used. So I was like, 'I'll take it.' It always meant something to me."

Dash said he and Curren$y are pushing a positive message about friendship and evolution.

"It's a way more positive movement," he added about the label's new incarnation. "It's what I wanted Roc-A-Fella, what I thought it should be 10 years after I started it."

Dash said he secured the new deal through L.A. Reid and Def Jam, which will serve as a distributor for his records.

After Curren$y's album, the next project coming off Roc-A-Fella will be Ski Beatz's 24 Hour Karate School mixtape.

Reps for Jay-Z were not reached for comment by press time.

Kanye West just released the video for "Coldest Winter" off his latest album '808's and Heartbreaks'

Yeezy doesn't make an appearance in the video. Instead we see a woman running through the darkness from the Grim Reaper.

Not sure what the song and video have in common, but hey it's a music video. I guess it doesn't have to make sense.

Video was directed by Nabil Elderkin

Chelsea Lately is probably the funniest late night talk show host. She's even funnier when she sets her sights on a target.

Recently that target happened to be Beyonce Knowles.

Chelsea took major shots at the R&B diva for her borderline raunchy performance at this years Grammy Awards.

Check out what Ms Lately had to say about it.
