On February 6, 2003, 50 Cent shook up the rap game when he released his debut album titled "Get Rich Or Die Tryin."
The Southside, Jamaica Queens, New York emcee was already becoming a household name prior to that, by releasing mixtapes that featured remixes of other artist's songs that were better than the original versions.
By the time 50 signed a $1 million record deal with Eminem and Dr. Dre in 2002, his buzz was through the roof.
"Get Rich Or Die Tryin" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 872,000 copies in its first week. It has since gone on to sell well over 15 million copies globally.
