NEW YORK (AP) — Facebook has apologized for putting a “primates” label on a video of Black men, according to a report in the New York Times.

The newspaper said the video was posted by a tabloid in June and showed Black men in altercations with white civilians and police officers. After the video ended, an automatic message popped up that said “keep seeing videos about Primates,” according to the Times.

Facebook turned off the artificial intelligence feature that showed the message, the Times said, and apologized for what it called “an unacceptable error” and told the newspaper that it would investigate further so that it doesn’t happen again.

Facebook on Saturday did not respond to a request for comment from The Associated Press. But a company spokeswoman told the Times that even though Facebook has made improvements to its artificial intelligence, “it’s not perfect” and has “more progress to make.”

Artificial intelligence has mislabeled people of color before. In 2015, Google apologized after it labeled a photo of two Black people as gorillas.

Mally Mall got the judge's message loud & clear ... TMZ has learned he's already surrendered to the feds after his last-ditch effort to delay his prison sentence was shot down in court.

According to legal docs, obtained by TMZ, a judge said the hip-hop producer failed to articulate any reason why his health condition couldn't be adequately treated while he's behind bars.

The judge said Mally failed to show he couldn't get a CT scan or biopsy from the prison's Health Services Division. Remember, he says he discovered a mass on his thigh that could potentially be cancerous.

In her response to Mally's request to postpone, the judge said she wouldn't "entertain any further meritless delay tactics." Translation -- if ya need it, get it while you're doing time.

So, Mally turned himself in to the Federal Correctional Institution in Sheridan, Oregon. His release date is currently slated for December 15, 2023. Mally pled guilty in late 2019 to running an illegal prostitution service for more than 12 years.

The feds say he owned, operated & managed several of these sorts of businesses in Clark County, Nevada.

The producer's lawyer, Steve Sadow, tells TMZ ... "Mally Mall over the last several years had dedicated his life to music & helping people. He has fully recognized the error in his ways & has gone out of his way to try to make amends. He intends to take full advantage of each & every program offered by the Federal Bureau of Prisons."

A batch of fentanyl-laced cocaine killed a comedian and two others, and left the ex-girlfriend of Darius Rucker in a Los Angeles hospital, a report said.

Fuquan Johnson, writer for "Comedy Parlour Live," died after overdosing at a Venice home Friday night, according to TMZ. Two other victims were pronounced dead at the scene, the outlet said.

Comedian Kate Quigley, who lives next door to the house and recently dated the Hootie & the Blowfish singer, was hospitalized in critical condition, according to the report.

The medical examiner will officially determine what killed Johnson, 42, and the other unnamed victims, but sources tell the outlet all four people were ingesting coke tainted with the super powerful opioid.

Fentanyl, a synthetic painkiller that is up 100 times more potent than heroin, has been a factor in the deaths of Prince, Mac Miller and Tom Petty.

In 2019, fentanyl was involved in more than two-thirds of all New York City drug overdoses, data showed. Social media users have been warning of tainted coke making the rounds in the city’s party scene this spring and summer.

LAKELAND, Fla. (WESH) — A man has been arrested after three people were found shot dead Sunday morning in Lakeland.

According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, the incident began around 4:30 a.m. in the area of North Socrum Loop Road.

A deputy on another call began hearing gunfire and responded, and multiple 911 callers began reporting an active shooter.

Lakeland police and Polk County Sheriff deputies respond, discovering a truck on fire and a man in full body armor.

Police saw the man run inside a home and then heard gunfire, followed by a woman and baby screaming.

Deputies entered the home and the suspect opened fire. Deputies returned fire before the suspect surrendered.

Judd said the suspect had been shot and was taken to Lakeland Regional, where he attempted to grab an officer's weapon.

Inside the home, officers discovered a man, woman and infant shot to death. The infant was in the mother's arms. An 11-year-old girl had been shot multiple times. She was taken to Tampa General and taken into surgery. Deputies discovered another woman dead in a separate house on the property.

Judd said the suspect is a self-described "survivalist" and told deputies he was on meth.

Deputies are still searching for a fifth child, they are hoping the child is at a friend's home.

The suspect will be treated and arrested, Judd said.

(NBC Miami) A South Florida ice cream shop owner is facing multiple charges including video voyeurism after authorities said he put a camera in the store's bathroom to film a 17-year-old employee.

Sergio Khorosh, 55, was arrested Thursday on charges of aggravated stalking, video voyeurism and impersonating a law enforcement officer, Broward County jail records showed.

Khorosh, the owner of "Moo Moo Scoops" in Coral Springs inside the Coral Square Mall, appeared in bond court Friday where Judge Tabitha Blackmon detailed the charges against him.

According to the judge, Khorosh filmed a 17-year-old employee in the shop's bathroom and then stalked her at her new job and at home.

An arrest report said the teen had found a black USB cellphone charger plugged into the wall and facing a toilet in the employee bathroom that had a camera in it.

According to the arrest report, Khorosh had hired the teen in July and would tell her how beautiful she was and at one point, kissed her forehead and told her he loved her.

After the teen told Khorosh she didn't want to work for him anymore, he sent her multiple text messages in which he professed his love for her, threatened her and showed photos of gifts he wanted to give her, the report said.

Khorosh also allegedly harassed the teen and her family, and at one point told her he was a deputy chief with the Broward Sheriff's Office and would lock her and her family up in jail, the report said.

He also claimed to have a K-9 that he would let "shred" her and her family, the report said.

Khorosh, who lives in Lighthouse Point, was given a $76,000 bond and ordered to stay away from the alleged victim. Blackmon appointed a public defender for him.

Bette Midler says women everywhere should sing a new tune in the bedroom to protest new, strict anti-abortion laws like the one in Texas.

“I suggest that all women refuse to have sex with men until they are guaranteed the right to choose by Congress,” the famed actress and singer tweeted Thursday.

The idea, though, might not be original with Midler.

Nancy Sinatra told Midler on Twitter that, “My dad actually suggested that decades ago.”

One commenter told Midler, “Did you know you’re my Shero?”

Actress Rosanna Arquette, however, was not so upbeat about Midler’s not so modest proposal.

“but then again men with angry Guns and rape not being a much of a crime in Texas .watch this space,” [sic] she tweeted back to Midler.

The US Supreme Court voted 5-4 on Wednesday denying an emergency appeal filed by abortion providers in an attempt to block a Texas abortion bill that went into effect the same day.

Signed by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott in May, the new law prohibits women from getting an abortion after a fetal heartbeat can be detected, roughly around six weeks and before most women know they are pregnant.

The law lets private citizens sue anyone who assisted in terminating the pregnancy, including those who drive a woman to an abortion appointment.

Former wrestling star Daffney Unger died from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest ... according to a police report obtained by TMZ.

As we reported, Daffney was found dead Thursday after she appeared on her IG Live the night before in what appeared to be a suicidal state, stating ... "Do you guys not understand that I am all alone? Do you not understand that?" And then she said, "Remember, my brain goes to Boston."

Police went to Unger's home in Norcross, GA Thursday for a welfare check. According to the police report, they were met by Daffney's mom, Jean. They knocked at the door but there was no answer, so they left without trying to gain entry.

They came back a second time a few hours later, and this time they saw Daffney's car parked near the apartment. A maintenance man gave cops a key but it didn't unlock the deadbolt. So, the fire department was called and they broke open the door and found Daffney's body on her bed ... a gunshot wound to her chest and a gun within reach.

The medical examiner has yet to determine the official cause and manner of death.

Daffney was battling mental health issues for weeks before her death and had urged others who were in the same predicament to get help.

The 46-year-old wrestled in the WCW and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

It's no secret that Kanye West and Drake are currently throwing shots at each other. That cycle continues with a new song titled "Life of the Party" by Ye featuring Andre 3000.

The strangest thing about this diss song is that Drake is the one who leaked it Friday night via the Sound 42 Sirius XM show.

From the production to the bars this sounds like the old Kanye, as he claims to be a Gangster Disciple while telling Drizzy to "stop it with the funny sh*t."

Subliminal raps are played out. If you got a problem with another artist say his or her name. That's exactly what Kanye does on "Life of the Party," which is one of his better songs in recent memory in my opinion.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Rapper Drake dedicated his highly-anticipated new album to Miss Mercedes Morr, a Houston Instagram influencer & model killed in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide.

Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, shared the dedication in the footnote about the album on streaming services such as Apple Music & it's there where the 33-year-old woman's name is mentioned.

Drake also shared the description in his Instagram story.

"A combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth which is inevitably heartbreaking. Executive produced by me, Noah "40" Shebib, Oliver El-Khatib & Noel Cadastre. Dedicated to Nadia Ntuli & Mercedes Morr. RIP - Drake."

The description on Drake's social media page was flanked by a heart & dove emoji.

Complex reports that Ntuli, also honored, was an Instagram model & friend of Drake's who died in a car accident earlier this year.

Miss Mercedes Morr, whose real name is Jenae Gagnier, was found dead inside her Richmond apartment on Sunday. Police said another body, later identified as 34-year-old Kevin Accorto, was also located inside Gagnier's home.

Investigators believe Gagnier was strangled & beaten by Accorto before the man took his own life.

While police have not disclosed a motive in the case, Gagnier's father, Mark Gagnier, talked about finding rambling scribbles on the walls inside the apartment in the moment that he discovered his daughter's lifeless body, suggesting Accorto may have been a crazed follower of her social media account.

A public memorial service will be held for Gagnier on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Chapel at 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. in Rosenberg. Organizers noted a family-only service will take place before it opens up to friends & other guests.

Meanwhile, a balloon release is planned for Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Terry Hersey Park at 15200 Memorial Dr. in Houston.

Oscar De La Hoya announced Friday he contracted coronavirus and was in the hospital receiving treatment, and that he had to pull out of his upcoming fight against Vitor Belfort.

De La Hoya, 48, posted a video of himself on Twitter in a hospital bed. He said he contracted the illness despite being fully vaccinated.

"Wanted you to hear directly from me that despite being fully vaccinated, I have contracted Covid and am not going to be able to fight next weekend. Preparing for this comeback has been everything to me over the last months, & I want to thank everyone for their tremendous support," he tweeted.

"I am currently in the hospital getting treatment and am confident I will be back in the ring before the year is up. God bless everyone and stay safe."

De La Hoya fought professionally from 1992 to 2008 and had already stepped away from the ring once. His last bout came in a loss to Manny Pacquiao via a referee technical decision in December 2008. He beat Steve Forbes via unanimous decision in May 2008.

De La Hoya and Belfort were set to square off at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sept. 11. Belfort is a former UFC star. He last fought in a boxing match in 2006 against Josemario Neves and won via knockout. 58-year-old Evander Holyfield has agreed to step in and box Belfort on September 11 on Triller.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota prosecutors filed a more serious charge Thursday against the former suburban Minneapolis police officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright during a traffic stop, but it is not the murder charge that activists were seeking.

Former Brooklyn Center officer Kim Potter is now charged with first-degree manslaughter, in addition to a prior charge of second-degree manslaughter. Activists had demanded a murder charge during protests in Brooklyn Center and outside a metro-area prosecutor’s home before Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison took over the case.

Potter, who is white, has claimed that she meant to use her Taser instead of her handgun when she fatally shot Wright, a 20-year-old Black motorist, on April 11. The amended complaint alleges Potter committed first-degree manslaughter by recklessly handling a firearm and endangering the safety of another when death or great bodily harm was reasonably foreseeable. The second-degree manslaughter count alleges she acted with culpable negligence and took an unreasonable risk when she consciously took a chance of causing death or great bodily harm with a firearm.

First-degree manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of 15 years while second-degree manslaughter carries a maximum penalty of 10 years, though state sentencing guidelines call for much less.

Kodak Black is living proof ... no good deed goes unpunished.

Kodak is now in the crosshairs of the Pompano Beach Authority, which seems to have all sorts of problems with Kodak donating air conditioning units in a housing project to help them beat the sweltering Florida heat.

Kodak personally delivered the AC units back in July, but we found out the Housing Authority fired off a cease and desist letter last month, which accused Kodak of entering the property twice, causing "disturbances." The Housing Authority claimed the rapper caused a disruption by shooting a music video on the property and playing loud music. And, get this ... the H.A. railed on him for daring to install air conditioning in the units.

The Housing Authority said, "Your actions have adversely impacted the Property's residents' right to peacefully enjoy the property."

Kodak's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, begs to differ, firing off a letter to the Housing Authority and saying it was sad and shameful they "wish to stop the assistance to the elderly and underprivileged during a heat wave and 2 year pandemic."

Cohen says Kodak did NOT film any music videos ... there was just some background music that was not loud at all.

Former NFL wide receiver David Patten, who won three Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots, died Thursday at the age of 47.

Sam Gordon, who had Patten as a client in his management firm, confirmed Patten's death to ESPN's Mike Reiss, saying he died in South Carolina. According to TMZ, Patten died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

"We are all very heartbroken," said Gordon, who added that he had spoken with Patten's wife Friday morning. "He was a man of God. He had his own ministry. He loved New England very much."

Patten played for five teams over a 12-year NFL career but is best known for his four seasons with the Patriots from 2001 to 2004. He caught the only offensive touchdown for the Patriots during their first Super Bowl win, in the 2001 season against the Rams, hauling in a 8-yard pass from Tom Brady to give New England a 14-3 lead just before halftime.

When he retired during Patriots training camp in 2010, Patten described his time with the Patriots as the highlight of his career.

Former Patriots teammates Richard Seymour and Deion Branch and former New England offensive coordinator Charlie Weis were among those eulogizing Patten on social media Friday.

"If there is one thing I want people to know about David, it's that as great a player he was, he was a better man," Gordon told Reiss.

Patten also played for the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints and Washington. He played his final NFL game in 2008 and finished with 324 receptions for 4,715 yards and 24 touchdowns.
