In the first part of Noisey's 8-part documentary Chiraq, we head to Englewood, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the city of Chicago, to meet Chief Keef, arguably one of the biggest rappers in the drill scene.
Unfortunately at the time, Chief was facing legal trouble, so we instead found Young Chop, a producer credited with shaping drill music, and he gives us an overview of the scene. Later, fellow 3Hunna members Lil Durk and Lil Reese expand on Chop's thoughts, and we learn extensively about the violence surrounding the area, and the social and cultural challenges the city faces.

50 Cent, Fat Joe and DJ Kay Slay deserve all the credit in the world for putting together their new song "Free Again."
Joey Crack and 50 squashed their long running beef at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards. It's what Chris Lighty would have wanted and the two artists were mature enough to make it happen.
"Free Again" is another huge step in the right direction for New York City hip hop. Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg discussed the significance of the song this morning on "The Realness."
"This is about more than a good song, and it's definitely a dope song. They sound great on the record and that's awesome. I hope it leads to more from them," Peter said. "But that's not what's really exciting in this moment. Fat Joe and 50 have already had huge successes. They've already made tons of money. What makes this so exciting is that getting them together signifies the end of an era of New York being divided. This signifies a new era of New York hip hop being together," he continued. "By them coming together means there's hope for the future. There's hope hope the Joey Bada$$', the Troy Ave's, the Flatbush Zombies', the A$AP Mob's, the Mack Wilds', the Bodega Bamz's, The Action Bronson's. This brings all of us together moving forward."

Soulja Boy was popped this morning in Los Angeles for possession of a loaded gun. TMZ reports that the "Crank That" rapper was the passenger in a car that blew past a stop sign in San Fernando Valley.
The car was pulled over. During the stop, police noticed that Soulja had a weapon on him, which turned out to be a loaded pistol.
The 23-year old, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, was arrested on the spot. He's currently being booked at a local jail.
**UPDATE** January 28
Soulja Boy is planning on fighting the charges because he believes the search was illegal. His manager, CEO Miami Mike, spoke with TMZ and listed reasons he believes the police were in the wrong.
1. The gun supposedly belongs to one of the rapper's neighbors who left it in the car.
2. Officers on the scene told Soulja that someone had to the responsibility for the gun, but he never said it was his. He only admitted to owning the car he was a passenger in.
3. Soulja's team believes the search was illegal because the police didn't have probable cause.
According to police, the gun was in plain view so they didn't need a search warrant

Young Jeezy is having a rough start to 2014. He was arrested today after a run in with police in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Police responding to an alarm call at Da Snowman's girlfriend's house didn't get a warm welcome from the CTE World CEO. According to TMZ. he refused to cooperate with the cops, cursed them out and tried to pull away when handcuffs were being placed on him.
"F*ck you, I ain't telling you," he reportedly told the police when they asked his name.
He was arrested, taken to Fulton County Jail and booked for obstructing police officers. The arrest comes just a couple of weeks after Jeezy turned himself in to authorities for allegedly assaulting his 17-year old son.
