Video After The Jump

Law enforcement agencies announced charges against dozens of North Texans as part of a month-long investigation designed to rescue children who are the victims of online sexual exploitation.

The investigation, called Operation Janus, sought out people who were trafficking illegal images & videos of children who were forced to perform sexual acts.

The victims in the operation are as young as infants, according to investigators.

A detective says this started after companies like Google & Facebook flagged the inappropriate material.

It resulted in more than 80 criminal charges filed against 59 offenders from Jan. 16 to Feb. 10.

Law enforcement groups say over the course of the operation, 28 children were rescued from online sexual abuse & investigators seized terabytes of data & electronic devices used in the crimes.

Among those charged are Jesse McFall, who worked for Dallas Fire-Rescue, Brandon Froning, who taught at Parish Episcopal & Michael A. Newhouse, Jr., who worked as a substitute teacher for McKinney ISD.

"The people charged as a result of this operation preyed upon some of our most vulnerable, our children," said Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia in a statement. "We will never stop working to identify, locate & apprehend these predators to make our community safer for our children."

HOUSTON (Click2Houston) – A 43-year-old Houston rapper has been ordered to federal prison following his conviction of conspiracy to distribute and distributing meth, cocaine and opioids.

Jermaine West, aka “Da Breadman,” pleaded guilty April 6 to 10 counts of drug trafficking.

On Monday, a U.S. district judge ordered West to serve 280 months in federal prison, to be immediately followed by 6 years of supervised release.

At the hearing, the court heard additional arguments that West had engaged in gang activity beyond his drug trafficking. In handing down the sentence, the judge remarked that West “destroyed people’s lives.” The court further noted that “for 20 years [West] played a dangerous game” & that he had “played the game and lost.”

West was part of the “Hood Kat Music Group” rap studio based in the southeast side of H-Town.

The investigation began in 2019 when law enforcement learned West was trafficking narcotics. The information regarding drug trafficking, as well as West’s known position as an influential gang member, triggered the multi-agency investigation.

West has been & will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future.

The FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration conducted the investigation with assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Houston Police Department.

OCONEE COUNTY, Ga. - An armed & dangerous man wanted in connection to a 1994 Atlanta murder was finally captured during a traffic stop in Oconee County this past Tuesday.

Muhammed Bilal El-Amin was wanted for shooting a man in the face at the Oakland MARTA train station on Nov. 27, 1994. Jafferd Tucker, 18, died at the scene & El-Amin went on the run, police say. A federal warrant was issued charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in May 2001.

Investigators were only able to identify him after taking him into custody for driving on a suspended license, no insurance & suspended registration.

Deputies in Oconee County say they were performing routine registration checks on vehicles along East Monroe Highway & Hog Mountain Road on Tuesday afternoon when a Mazda came back as having no current registration or insurance.

A deputy pulled over the vehicle & the driver identified himself as Rais Sekhem. He handed the deputy a South Carolina license, which when ran through a law enforcement database, came back as having an active suspension.

The deputy called for backup and then took him into custody. Once he arrived at the Oconee County Jail, he was fingerprinted. Those prints were then run through the law enforcement database which revealed his true identity.

Former Baltimore Ravens running back Lorenzo Taliaferro has passed away at the age of 28.

According to local news station WBFF-TV Fox45, a family member of Talafierro said he died of a heart attack on Wednesday, Dec. 16. He was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. after being transported to Riverside Doctors' Hospital in his hometown of Williamsburg, Virginia.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said in a statement that the NFL team is "deeply saddened" by the 28-year-old's death. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Lorenzo's family," the statement read. "May he rest in peace."

Taliaferro played under Harbaugh for three seasons starting in 2014. The running back, along with Justin Forsett and Bernard Pierce, took over for Ray Rice, who was suspended for spousal abuse that year.

I'll be there for Major bro & let him know his dad was a good man who worked his butt off! Rest Easy Zobot! Gone 2 soon."

ENCINO, Calif. - Bobby Brown Jr., the 28-year-old son of singer Bobby Brown, died Wednesday in Encino, police said.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a report of an unspecified medical emergency in the 5200 block of White Oak Avenue, near Ventura Boulevard, about 1:50 p.m., Officer Jeff Lee said.

Bobby Brown Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene, Lee said. Police are not conducting a criminal investigation, as no foul play is suspected.

TMZ reported that Brown Jr. was found in his home and that his mother is Kim Ward, who Bobby Brown dated before he became engaged to Whitney Houston.

Brown's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, who he had with Houston, died at the age of 22 in 2015.

She was found in January of that year unconscious in her home's bathtub in Roswell, Georgia and died several months later after being taken off a ventilator and put into hospice care.

Report via SI.com -- Boxer Maxim Dadashev has died from injuries he suffered in a fight Friday, reports ESPN. He was 28.

Dadashev underwent brain surgery after his 11th-round junior welterweight loss to Subriel Matias. Following the fight, he was taken to a local hospital before being transported to University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center for a two-hour surgery to relieve a subdural hematoma (also known as bleeding of the brain) on his right side.

He was then placed in a medically induced coma, and neurosurgeons told Dadashev's manager Egis Klimas and strength and conditioning coach Donatas Janusevicius that he showed signs of severe brain damage, according to ESPN.

A heatbreaking clip from the fight showing trainer Buddy McGirt urging Dadashev to stop fighting has gone viral since news of the boxer's death.

Entering his bout against Matias, Dadashev had not lost in 13 fights. He was from St. Petersburg, Russia.

Written by Jason Sickles For Yahoo News

The celebrating began before the coroner could collect the bodies of Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo, the Las Vegas patrol officers ambushed and executed while eating at a pizzeria last month.

“The good news is, there are two less police in the world,” read an entry on the Facebook page for CopBlock.org.

12350961298?profile=original

Igor Soldo and Alyn Beck

The post was visible for less than a day, but it attracted at least 6,300 likes and comments by the time the page’s administrators removed it.

Jerad Miller who along with his wife, Amanda, gunned down the Vegas police officers before dying during a shootout with police was one of Cop Block’s 780,000-plus Facebook fans.

12350961472?profile=original

The decentralized advocacy group says it disavows violence while spreading a belief that “badges don’t grant extra rights.”

But the Millers, described by investigators as anti-government extremists, had a deadly animosity for authority.

.

“Bout time to start killing cops, eh?” Miller, 31, wrote in May when he shared a viral video of police brutality on Facebook. “Maybe if we can kill all these despotic goons they will turn on their masters and once again be public servants and we can end this madness.”

After a historic decline in the number of police officers fatally shot last year, 2014 has rebounded to previous levels. Beck and Soldo are among 28 U.S. officers shot and killed in the line of duty so far this year. The most recent death came Sunday, when rookie Jersey City, N.J., Officer Melvin Santiago was ambushed by a gunman who reportedly told people he was “going to be famous” for killing a cop.

Such shameless bravado online and off and an exploding right-wing movement are creating anxiety about attacks against police.

“There's a deep concern that there has been a measurable increase in violence against police officers, especially with firearms,” said Rich Roberts, spokesman for the International Union of Police Associations. The anti-police movement “seems to feed off each other online,” he said.

12350962494?profile=original

The FBI has increased warnings about possible threats to law enforcement, multiple police sources told Yahoo News. The bureau declined to confirm any change.

This follows a 2009 Department of Homeland Security report that included a warning about domestic extremists using the Internet to recruit members, share tactics and raise hate to an all-time high.

12350962867?profile=original

Rich Stanek, who chairs the National Sheriffs’ Association Homeland Security Committee, said he proudly protects constitutional rights, but he worries social networking gives radicals such as Miller a false sense of recognition.

“They can post, blog and do so freely and anonymously without any accountability whatsoever,” said Stanek, sheriff of Hennepin County in Minnesota.

Escalating danger by anti-government extremists dominated a four-hour discussion on homeland security at last month’s National Sheriffs’ Association conference, said Stanek, who commands an 800-member department in Minneapolis.

“That’s the single greatest concern that faces our deputies today,” Stanek said.

Trent Nice, a former neighbor of Miller’s in Lafayette, Indiana, frequented his friend’s Facebook page.

“I shared a lot of his views, but would never do anything like that,” Nice told Yahoo News by email.

The week of the June 8 rampage, Nice gave an approving click to Miller’s Facebook manifesto predicting pending bloodshed and war.

.

“As far as me liking the post, if that’s what he intended when he posted it, then I severely misunderstood his post,” he wrote. “His heart was in the right place. His head wasn't.”

Meanwhile police near Lafayette, where the Millers lived before moving to Las Vegas, are reportedly keeping an eye on the 765 movement, a new anti-police group on Facebook.

12350963277?profile=original

Sam Bradbury, a group member, was jailed in late June for posting a detailed Facebook messagethreatening to kill multiple authorities and destroy a courthouse “in a blaze of glory.” Arresting officers also recovered six bags of bomb-making material from the 22-year-old’s home.

Bradbury is being held on federal charges of using electronic communications to threaten injury to a person and destroy property with an incendiary device. According to an FBI affidavit, Bradbury ended his Facebook rant by writing “FREE SPEECH EXERCISE FOOLS” in parentheses. But a judge ruled he did not have to accept Bradbury’s First Amendment disclaimer and ordered him held without bail until an arraignment later this month.

The Bradbury arrest is similar to a spate of recent prosecutions “for alleged threats conveyed on new media, including Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter,”according to a brief filed in a pending Supreme Court case. Free speech advocates want the court to clarify what constitutes a true threat in today’s digital world.

Mark Potok, an expert on extremism, said he believes it is rare for social media to inspire someone to kill.

“However, the kinds of people who are prone to those kinds of hatreds find validation and real community on the Internet,” said Potok, a senior researcher with the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Southern-Poverty-Law-Center.jpg

Last week the SPLC issued a report warning law enforcement about the increasingly hostile anti-government movement, which it estimates has grown from 150 groups in 2008 to nearly 1,100 last year.

The economic crisis, proposed gun control, Barack Obama’s election, NSA spying and the militarization of police among other issues have spurred the resurgence, the watchdog organization said.

“There’s a hell of a lot of anger out there in certain corridors,” Potok told Yahoo News. “Jerad Miller was not the only one who saw police in the United States as Nazis.”

Miller found an approving audience for his conspiracy theories and political tirades online. Some Facebook posts were original, but he shared others from pages he frequented such as Patriot Nation, Taxation is Theft and Cop Block.

Cop Block co-founder Pete Eyre told Yahoo News the Facebook entry celebrating the Millers’ rampage wasn’t appropriate.

pete-eyre-rebel-inc-300x294.jpg

Pete Eyre

“There was blanket rejoicing over the deaths of two people and I don’t think that’s good in any situation,” Eyre said. “It didn’t fit Cop Block ideology. The site’s not an anti-police thing; it’s like a pro-personal empowerment site.”

Launched in 2010, Cop Block encourages the public to submit home videos, photos and stories of rogue officers for discussion.

Eyre said the Vegas entry was put up by a former volunteer who still had administrative access. The post and its removal provoked days of intense debate on the Cop Block Facebook page, which included the following comments:

“You don't promote accountability; you promote anti-police, anti-government behavior by publicizing criminals and making them out to be heroes.”

“A cop died, opinions were stated... don't think a cop wouldn't be bragging about shooting you over some drinks with his cops buddies while he enjoys his 2 weeks paid vacation...”

12350963463?profile=original

By its own account, the 2011 blog post “WHEN SHOULD YOU SHOOT A COP” is one of Cop Block’s most read. A week before the Vegas slayings, a photo on Cop Block’s Facebook page portrayed a dead officer with the words: “This is what a good cop looks like.”

“Really? That’s the message we want to send?” asked Melissa, the wife of a Kansas police officer. “It makes my stomach turn.”

Melissa, who requested that her full name not be used for safety reasons, said she and other police spouses are frustrated by Facebook’s lack of action in response to their Cop Block complaints.

.

A Facebook spokesperson told Yahoo News in a statement: “People come to Facebook to share experiences of the world around them and on occasion this may result in the sharing of content that some may find upsetting. We encourage anyone who sees content that violates our community standards to report it to us.”

Photos promoting officer deaths posted as comments to Cop Block’s page on May 25 and June 1 were removed by Facebook after being contacted for this story.

“I understand the need for people to express their opinion, but I think there is a line that has to be watched,” Melissa said. “When does an opinion become a plan of action?”

Nice hadn’t seen Miller in a few years, but his Facebook connection earned him a visit from FBI agents after the Las Vegas murders.

“I told them if they wanted to investigate someone, go investigate Barack Obama,” he recalled. “They kinda just had a smirk on their faces when I said that, and said well we're investigating this right now. I don't know if (they) were trying to get background on him or find out if there are more crazies like him.”

SMS Promotions fighter Yuriorkis Gamboa will step back into the ring on Saturday, June 28, to face Terence Crawford in a lightweight championship boxing match.

The fight is the main event on HBO Boxing After Dark, beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. Gamboa told Bad Left Hook that he has trained hard for this fight and believes he has a winning strategy going in.

"Coming from Cuba, the guys were technical and had size, and I fought them a lot. Me, I've perfected my strategy to fighting these type of fighters. I think this will be a counter-vs-counter match. Objective is to get him to the middle range where I can use my speed. Logic says to carry a little more weight as you get older, so I'm comfortable fighting at this weight. The training camp is going perfect."

12350875678?profile=original

Neither fighter has lost as a professional. They have identical records of (23-0, 16 KOs). After dominating the featherweight division, Gamboa is fighting for the second time as a lightweight. At stake is Crawford's World Boxing Organization (WBO) Lightweight title.

The fight is being co-promoted by 50 Cent's SMS Promotions and Bob Arum's Top Rank.

"I was looking at the lightweight picture and I think this matches the two best lightweights in the world," Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, who promotes Crawford, told ESPN.com. "I believe the winner legitimately establishes himself as No. 1 in the weight class. The other thing that appeals to me is that we are doing this fight -- a real high-class fight -- in the heartland of the country and, hopefully, this can help bring back interest in boxing in a significant part of the country, where they don't get too many big fights."

12350876091?profile=original

50 is expecting nothing less than an action packed battle between the two world class fighters.

"Gamboa has been with me from the beginning. I got the opportunity to see his talents early on. He's here in Miami training hard and this is going to be a great fight."

Video And Pics After The Jump

BEIJING (Associated Press) — More than 10 knife-wielding attackers slashed people at a train station in southwestern China late Saturday in what authorities called a terrorist attack, and police fatally shot five of the assailants, leaving 28 people dead and 113 injured, state media said.

12350649678?profile=original

The attackers, most of them dressed in black, stormed the Kunming Train Station in Yunnan Province and started attacking people in the late evening, witness Yang Haifei, told the official Xinhua News Agency in an interview from a hospital where he was being treated for chest and back wounds.

12350650088?profile=original

"I saw a person come straight at me with a long knife and I ran away with everyone," he told Xinhua, adding that people who were slower ended up severely injured. "They just fell on the ground," Yang said.

Xinhua did not identify who might have been responsible for the attack, but said authorities considered it to be "an organized, premeditated violent terrorist attack."

In an indication of how seriously authorities viewed the attack — one of China's deadliest in recent years — the country's top police official, Politburo member Meng Jianzhu, was on route to Kunming, the Communist Party-run People's Daily reported.

12350650685?profile=original

The violence in Kunming came at a sensitive time as political leaders in Beijing prepared for Wednesday's opening of the annual meeting of the nominal legislature where the government of President Xi Jinping will deliver its first one-year work report.

Xi called for "all-out efforts" to bring the culprits to justice.

A Xinhua reporter on the scene in Kunming said several suspects had been "controlled" while police continued their investigation of people at the train station. The reporter said firefighters and emergency medical personnel were at the station and rushing injured people to hospitals for treatment.

12350651085?profile=original

The authorities said five suspects were shot dead but that their identities had not yet been confirmed, Xinhua reported. Overall, 28 people were confirmed dead and 113 injured, it said.

12350651859?profile=original

State media outlets did not immediately cite a motive for the attack or say what group might be behind it, but they typically use the phrase "terrorist" for attacks blamed on separatists from the far western region of Xinjiang, home to a simmering rebellion against Chinese rule among parts of the Muslim Uighur (pronounced WEE'-gur) population.

Most attacks blamed on Uighur separatists take place in Xinjiang, but Saturday's assault took place more than 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) to the southeast in Yunnan, which has not had a history of such unrest. However, a suicide car attack blamed on Uighur separatists that killed five people at Beijing's Tiananmen Gate last November raised alarms that militants may be aiming to strike at targets throughout the country.

12350652079?profile=original

More than 60 victims of Saturday's attack were taken to Kunming No. 1 People's Hospital, where at least a dozen bodies also could be seen, according to Xinhua reporters at the hospital.

12350652661?profile=original

At a guard pavilion in front of the train station, three victims were crying. One of them, Yang Ziqing, told Xinhua that they were waiting for a train to Shanghai when a knife-wielding man suddenly came at them.

CHINA OUT

"My two town-fellows' husbands have been rushed to hospital, but I can't find my husband, and his phone went unanswered," Yang sobbed.

Footage in China's state broadcaster CCTV showed a heavy police presence near the station and plainclothes agents wrapping a long knife in a plastic bag as investigators collected evidence following the attacks.

Pictures on Sina Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, showed bodies covered in blood at the station.

The Security Management Bureau under the Ministry of Public Security called the incident a "severe violent crime" at its official Sina Weibo account.

"No matter what motives the murderers hold, the killing of innocent people is against kindness and justice. The police will crack down the crimes in accordance with the law without any tolerance. May the dead rest in peace," it read.

The Kunming Railway Station, located in the southeastern area of the city, is one of the largest railway stations in southwest China.

At this time we kindly request your respect and our privacy as we process this devastating loss. On behalf of Mikey’s family, close friends and fans, thank you.” There is no word on how he died. The IRS don't play, if you don't believe me, ask Young Buck. Buck, real name David Darnell Brown will have to send a friend to buy his "615 Cashville Records" chain back if he ever wants to see it again. Because on October 28, the IRS will auction off the items seized when they raided his crib August 3. In addition to the "615" chain, other items that will be auctioned off according to the Tennessean include gold and platinum records earned when he was a member of G-Unit, recording equipment, multiple LCD and plasma televisions, designer watches and an assortment of faux-fur coats. Also pictures of Al Pacino and rapper Tupac, a “marijuana leaf picture”, three Royal Copenhagen white bear figurines and a 3-foot white and silver Santa Claus decoration.

The money from the auction is to help repay more than $164,000 Buck owes the Federal Government in unpaid taxes. Buck earned by some accounts as much as $8 million dollars during his time with G-Unit. 50 Cent at one point loaned Buck a reported $200,000 to get out of one jam with the IRS. Instead of showing gratitude, Buck bit the hand that fed him by dissing G-Unit in the press and at various shows. He released two succesful solo albums while working with 50 Cent. The platinum selling album 'Straight Outta Cashville' in 2004 and 'Buck The World' in 2007 which debuted at # 3 on the charts it's first week out. His latest album 'The Rehab', released last month independently sold less than 7,000 copies it's first week out. The IRS is holding an open house on Oct. 27 at 5373 Mt. View Road in Antioch to view the goods from noon until 5 p.m. and then again there on Oct. 28 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m., when the auction will begin. Items must be paid in full with cash, certified check, cashier’s or treasurer’s check, or by money order, all payable to the United States Treasury. Video After The Jump On Monday October 4, Lafayette Parish, Louisiana Deputy Chris Guidry responds to a call from an undervover cop of a drug buy. When Guidry gets to the scene, he sees the man, 28 year old Javon "Slim" Rakestrau, ID'd from the drug buy, walking down the street. Guidry gets out of his patrol car and asks Javon for I.D. Javon starts to walk away, saying he would get his identification from inside his home. The Deputy stops him, telling him to put his hands on the hood of the patrol car. At that point Javon reaches into a right pocket, saying he was going to call the police himself. At the same time he's reaching into a left pocket for something. Guidry would later say he wasn't sure what Javon was reaching for, so he attempts to take him to the ground. Javon resists, starts yelling for his mother, while continuing to say he had done nothing wrong. When he breaks away from the officer, he is then tased. Within seconds of being tased, Javon's breathing becomes labored. An ambulance is called, but Javon died in the hospital. It turns out he was reaching into his left pocket for weed, probably to hide it from the cop. An autopsy is underway to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, Javon's death has caused an outrage in the community. Local residents are calling the polce there killers. "If you're walking through the neighborhood and the cops see you, they'll pull up, search you and ask questions," one local said. "They want to try to intimidate us." Gerald Hopkins, a friend of Rakestrau, said Guidry could have used better force. He said a stun gun wasn't necessary for the situation. "They're trained for situations like that," he said. "It was not proper force." Lt. Craig Stansbury didn't see it that way at all. "The state of Louisiana has a force continuum law, which states that the officer is required and able to go one step above the offender's actions. To resist an officer or resist arrest. And that's exactly what Deputy Guidry was doing." says Stansbury Check out the video and tell me what you think. Was the cop out of control or just doing his job? twitter-5d.gif
