Two weeks after a Black man’s body was found hanging from a tree near the Victorville City Library, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said Saturday that foul play was not suspected in his death.

The department also said that the investigation into the death of Malcolm Harsch, 38, is ongoing, according to a report in the Victor Valley News.

“There were no indications at the scene that suggested foul play; however, the cause and manner of death are still pending,” Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Jodi Miller told the news outlet.

The Victorville Fire Department discovered Harsch’s body May 31 after receiving a dispatch call around 7 a.m., officials said. When firefighters arrived at the library, they found Harsch hanging from a nearby tree.

In a statement sent to the Victor Valley News, Harsch’s family in Ohio said they find it hard to accept that his death was a suicide. They said that Harsch had recent conversations with his children about seeing them soon and that he did not seem to be depressed to anyone who knew him.

The family also said they were told that Harsch, at 6 foot 3, wasn’t dangling from the tree and that there was blood on his shirt. At the same time, there did not appear to be any evidence at the scene to suggest a struggle, they said. They also noted that his body sat at the San Bernardino County coroner’s office for 12 days before an autopsy was performed.

“The explanation of suicide does not seem plausible,” the family wrote. “There are many ways to die but considering the current racial tension, a Black man hanging himself from a tree definitely doesn’t sit well with us right now.

“We want justice, not comfortable excuses,” they wrote.

According to the family, a deputy called to confirm the death and said a USB cord was used in the hanging.

On Friday, June 12, Atlanta police received several calls about Rayshard Brooks, 27, asleep in his car at a Wendy's fast food drive thru.

Here's the full police bodycam footage which shows Brooks being questioned by the police, given a field sobriety test, his attempted arrest, the ensuing scuffle and Brooks' subsequent fatal shooting by officer Garrett Rolfe.

Rolfe fired three shots at Brooks while he was running away with one of the cops Tasers, appearing to fire it at one point.

Rolfe has been fired by the Atlanta Police Department. Another officer on the scene, Devin Brosnan, was placed on administrative duty.

Police chief Erika Shields handed in her resignation.

The shooting sparked anger in the community. Protests turned to riots as people took to the streets on Saturday, June 13. Traffic was blocked on several streets and the Wendy's where the shooting took place was burned to the ground.

I have no idea what these "Karen's" have been drinking or smoking, but they have gotten completely out of pocket.

The latest racist episode is from "Hammer Karen," who puts dents in her Hispanic neighbor's car and hurls insults.

But "Hammer Karen" wasn't expecting to get her ass handed to her by "Aunt Justice" after she came home to find out what happened.

ATLANTA (CBS46) -- Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields resigned her position Saturday afternoon, less than 24 hours after an APD officer shot and killed Rayshard Brooks after a struggle in a parking lot.

The shooting death, partially captured on multiple cameras, showed Brooks struggling with officer before he wrestled away a stun gun. Brooks then began to run. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Brooks made it just a little way before he allegedly turned towards officers with the stun gun raised and an APD officer shot and killed him.

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said in a Saturday press conference the decision to resign was former Chief Shields' and the mayor said she accepted the resignation. Mayor Bottoms said the former chief will remain with the city in a role that has yet to be determined. Bottoms said the officer who fired the shot should be fired.

The former chief's resignation came just hours after the Georgia NAACP called for her to leave her position and capped off a more than two week period in Atlanta that saw peaceful protests, violent protests, two college students violently pulled form a car, multiple APD officers fired and charged for the car incident, and now a deadly police-involved shooting.

(CNN) Dozens of people gathered at Palmdale city council chambers Friday as officials held a press conference on the death of a 24-year-old black man who was found hanging from a tree in northern Los Angeles County.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. Monday, a passerby noticed a man, later identified as 24-year old Robert L. Fuller, hanging from a tree in Palmdale, California. Fire department personnel who responded to the scene determined he was dead, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

Palmdale city described it as "an alleged death by suicide."

"Sadly, it is not the first such incident since the COVID-19 pandemic began," the city said in a statement that included information on resources for mental health. "The city remains committed to addressing mental health issues during these difficult times. We are in this together."

When a spokesperson for the sheriff's department announced the preliminary findings of Fuller's death during the news conference, outraged crowds demanded an investigation.

"We're working hard to try to figure out exactly what happened," Palmdale Mayor Steven D. Hofbauer shouted as he tried to calm people down.

Attendees asked for camera footage of the incident, but a city official said there's none. Throughout the news conference, officials repeatedly called it an ongoing investigation, saying a full autopsy is underway.

Kim Karsahian-West added her voice by sharing a Change.org petition with her 65.5 million Twitter followers, calling for an inquiry into Fuller's death. https://www.change.org/p/palmdale-pd-robert-fuller-was-found-dead-june-10-2020-after-he-was-found-hanging-from-a-tree-in-ca

"Robert Fuller was found dead June 10, 2020, hanging from a tree outside City Hall Palmdale. Sign this petition to demand for a thorough and proper investigation," she tweeted Friday, June 12.

A full autopsy is expected to be conducted in the immediate future, the Sheriff's Department said.

MINNEAPOLIS (CNN) - Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin could still receive his pension benefits even if he is convicted of killing George Floyd.

Chauvin could receive more than $1 million in benefits despite being fired from the police department after a video surfaced of him kneeling on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes as the man begged for him to stop. He was later charged with second-degree murder amid massive protests.

A number of states allow for the forfeiture of pensions for employees convicted of felony crimes, but Minnesota is not one of the states where this occurs.

The pension fund is partially funded through taxpayer money.

Chauvin, 44, would likely be eligible for annual payments of around $50,000 a year or more if he chose to start receiving them at age 55. The benefits could stretch to $1.5 million or more over a 30-year period.

Hawaiian born Emcee/Producer Nohokai Releases New Single "Asphalt" featuring R.A. The Rugged Man

Hawaiian born Emcee/Producer Nohokai has announced details for his upcoming release of his upcoming new album "Mixed Emotions" via Perfect Time Music Group on July 17th, 2020. In anticipation of the album release next month, Nohokai has released the album's lead single "Asphalt" featuring R.A. The Rugged Man across all digital platforms today.

Hawaiian born emcee and Producer, Nohokai, has created an underground hip-hop debut for the ages in the form of his new album "Mixed Emotions". Nohokai has assembled an all-star cast of guests for the album that reads like a lineup worthy of a festival stage including Gift of Gab, R.A. the Rugged Man, Locksmith, Chino XL, and more. Nohokai meshes his boom-bap production style with some venomous lyrical attack from the co-artists that have blessed this body of work with insane verses.

Having previously channeled his creativity as an MC, Nohokai graced stages across the Hawaiian islands with many of the artists featured on the album including Gift of Gab. As he matured, Nohokai realized that performing as an MC wasn't his true calling and instead turned to the studio as his rightful place in the hip-hop ecosystem. Now as a grown man with a growing list of responsibilities, Nohokai has put everything he's got into this full-length debut as a producer. The result is a polished, mature, aggressive sound that rings of the same urgency Nohokai feels for his musical abilities. It's a now-or-never moment for Nohokai and despite the talent and a dope album to show for it, he's having "Mixed Emotions".
