Chris Knite introducing brand new single release: Hard 2 Say (Featuring Khaotic)

June 2020 - Singer and songwriter Chris Knite is a talent on the resend he is quickly making a name for himself with his amazing blend of R&B, hip-hop, and Urban, giving his tone a modern flair in the vein of artists such as Miguel or The Weeknd, only to mention a few. Recently, Chris teamed up with rap artist Khaotic in order to release a brand new single titled “Hard 2 Say.” If you are a fan of the popular show “Love & Hip-Hop Miami,” you probably heard of Khaotic, who is a regular on the show and has been earning the love of the audience due to his unique personality and style. Chris and Khaotic have a perfect synergy, and their collaboration on “Hard 2 Say” is truly spot-on. The song is outstanding on different levels, and the first thing you might notice when listening to this release is that a lot of focus, artistry and care were poured into this project, right from the get go. This is a great opportunity for both Chris and Khaotic to really highlight their respective skills and showcase their work to a greater audience.

“Hard 2 Say” is a song that seamlessly blurs the lines between catchy pop hooks and R&B melodies, not to mention channeling the pure energy of the modern rap scene. If you are a fan of great hooks and punchy beats, you will enjoy this one for sure! Chris has a powerful and richly dynamic voice, which really lifts the song to the next level. On the other hand, Khaotic has a very energetic flow, that adds a spice to the mix. The vocals are deeply nuanced, and the lyrics add a lot of extra depth to the track as well.

Find out more about Knite, as well as the talented featured artist, Khaotic, and listen to “Hard 2 Say,” which is going to available on every music streaming platform on the web starting from the 19th of June.

Happy Birthday Tupac Shakur!

12353448664?profile=original

On June 16, 1971 a genius was born.

Tupac Shakur wasn't just a rapper. He was also a poet, actor and social activist. 2Pac managed to release 5 solo albums, if you include "The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory," which dropped less than two months after his 1996 death and one group album with Thug Life.

He was a tireless worker, leaving behinds hundreds of songs that have resulted in 7 posthumous albums to date.

He made songs for the hood and the ladies. Very few artists can do that.

Tupac also had 37 acting credits under his belt, according to IMDB. They included movies, TV roles and video shorts.

He managed to do all of this by the age of 25. The man is the definition of a legend.

Happy birthday to the greatest rapper of all time and a true icon.

Video After The Jump

Raymond James Financial Inc. said it fired an employee after a video captured him and his wife in a confrontation with a man stenciling “Black Lives Matter” in chalk outside his own San Francisco home.

The video shows Robert Larkins, a managing director at Raymond James, with his wife Lisa Alexander, the chief executive officer of LaFace Skincare, confronting the resident and saying they will call the police. James Juanillo, who is Filipino, posted the video, saying, “A white couple call the police on me, a person of color, for stenciling a #BLM chalk message on my own front retaining wall.”

“Raymond James has zero tolerance for racism and discrimination of any kind,” the company said in a post on Twitter. “After an investigation into the circumstances of a video alleging racism by one of our associates, we have concluded that the actions of he and his partner were inconsistent with our values, and the associate is no longer employed by Raymond James.”

“I did not realize at the time that my actions were racist and have learned a painful lesson,” Alexander said in a statement to ABC.

Alexander, CEO of the La Face skin care line, reportedly is already suffering professional consequences since the video in the posh Pacific Heights neighborhood went viral.

Juanillo said they the cops, who responded to the scene recognized him and didn’t get out of their squad car.

Birchbox announced it had severed ties with Alexander’s brand, SFGate reported.

Multiple Cowboys players recently tested positive for COVID-19, sources said Monday, but the team has declined to comment and star running back Ezekiel Elliott publicly lamented a privacy violation after being reported as one of them.

NFL Network first reported Monday morning that “several” Cowboys players tested positive. Later, it disclosed Elliott as among the positive cases while attributing the information to Elliott’s agent. Rocky Arceneaux described Elliott as “feeling good," per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

About an hour later, Elliott tweeted “HIPAA??” in reference to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. According to the Department of Health Care Services, HIPAA regulations “require health care providers and organizations, as well as their business associates, to develop and follow procedures that ensure the confidentiality and security of protected health information.”

Elliott clarified that his gripe was not with his agent but rather the reporters who approached him.

HIPAA rules do not apply to media. Elliott did not dispute the positive test.

League sources indicated that a small number of Cowboys players tested positive, but the exact figure cannot be determined without the Cowboys’ ability to provide details on the matter.

“Due to federal and local privacy laws, we are unable to provide information regarding the personal health of any of our employees," the Cowboys said in a statement. "We are following all CDC, local and NFL guidelines to keep our facilities safe, including limiting employee access.”

Coaches and limited staff have returned to work at The Star in Frisco, but players have continued with virtual instruction this offseason. Last week, the NFL sent a memo to teams, outlining safety protocols for when players do return. No timetable was included, and these protocols weren’t reviewed by the NFL Players Association before they were distributed.

Dallas County has experienced a surge in positive COVID-19 cases. The county reported 302 additional coronavirus cases Sunday, the fifth day in a row with more than 300 new cases. The county averaged 300 cases last week, its highest seven-day average since the pandemic began.

Elliott has spent at least part of his offseason training in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with quarterback Dak Prescott, former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant and other NFL players. Several videos of these workouts, posted to social media in early April, drew criticism for a lack of social distancing and violating the letter of Dallas County’s shelter-in-place orders at the time.

Oluwatoyin Salau, a 19-year-old protester who begged for justice in the wake of Black lives lost, has died.

Her family confirmed the death Monday morning.

Salau was found dead Saturday night after she went missing more than a week ago, on June 6, family members told the Tallahassee Democrat of the USA TODAY Network.

Salau was one of two homicide victims discovered Saturday night in southeast Tallahassee. Police identified the suspect as Aaron Glee Jr, 49.

Victoria "Vicki" Sims, 75, who also had been reported missing, is the second victim. She was a retired state worker and grandmother well-known for her volunteerism and work in local Democratic politics.

Glee was arrested May 30 on a charge of aggravated battery causing bodily harm or disability, according to court records. On June 9, he was arrested on a charge of battery.

Salau went missing three days prior — on June 6. She was found dead Saturday night, a family member told the Democrat.

The last time Danaya Hemphill saw her friend was the day before she went missing.

In the hours before Salau went missing, she tweeted she had just been sexually assaulted.

"I had a feeling that we were not going to find Toyin alive," said Hemphill, 22.

At each demonstration, Salau had been reciting the names of Black people killed, such as Tony McDade of Tallahassee and George Floyd of Minneapolis.

“I don’t want their names gone in vain," Salau said during one protest in front of the Tallahassee Police Department last month.

Hemphill didn't think her friend's name would join that list.

"Toyin was very passionate," said Hemphill. "She was very vocal she was very loving, very spiritual, very caring.

"She was like a light in a dark room. That was Toyin."

Video After The Jump

In this episode of People's Party, Talib Kweli and Jasmin Leigh sit down with actor and rapper Rick Gonzalez. This compelling interview commences with Rick speaking to his experience playing the role of the vigilante superhero Wild Dog in the hit series "Arrow." He also delves into his youth growing up in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn and being fully immersed in all the elements of hip-hop. He goes on to speak about the Puerto Rican and Dominican dynamic during that time, and learning his craft of acting at LaGuardia High School of music and arts.

Later they discuss his experiences performing in films such as "Coach Carter," "War Of The Worlds," and "Old School" as well as working with acclaimed directors and actors like Steven Spielberg, John Singleton, Tom Cruise, and Will Farrell. Rick is asked who he feels is the best rapper/actor, he explains why he chose to quit rapping after 13 years, they talk about his friendship with the late great Sean Price, and in closing Rick illustrates the roles that he's taken the most from in helping him grow as an actor and a man.

TIME STAMPS:

2:55 -- Rick speaks to how much fun he's been having playing the role of the character Wild Dog in the television series 'Arrow', explaining the vigilante anti-hero as the D.C. Universe's Punisher. He reflects on growing up reading mostly Marvel comic books, and having to do his research on the backstory of the character. They also discuss the Flash/Arrow overlap.

7:01 -- Rick is asked about his youth growing up in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn, NY in the late 80's and early 90's. They discuss him buying the early Tony Touch mixtapes, Rick being immersed in all the elements of hip hop including breakdancing, and talks about all the fun he had despite the danger lurking on certain streets that he knew to steer clear of.

10:15 -- Rick talks about his Dominican/Puerto Rican heritage, and his parent's marriage being an anomaly during that time in NYC with a history of friction between the two nationalities. He expands on that, they discuss how white supremacy plays into it, he speaks on his feeling of kinship with the black community, which then leads to a discussion of Latinos and use of the N-word in relation to where they grew up.

18:26 -- Rick goes into his experience attending LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where he learned his love of acting. He speaks on how effective the school was in setting the foundation for someone serious about pursuing a career as an actor. Jasmin asks Rick how he made his way to LA so early on, and they also talk about Talib's friendship with Michael Rappaport.

24:05 -- Talib brings up Rick's prominent role in 'Coach Carter', and asks Rick if he has any interesting stories from working on that film. Rick talks about arguing with the director during his audition, explains why he was so drawn to the real-life character of Timo Cruz, but not having anyone to teach him a bay-area accent, Talib speaks to his interpretation of LA before he moved there from NYC, and they discuss the responsibility of Hollywood casting actors in finding those that best embody the role of the character they portray, and not just focusing on how they look or sound.

30:31 -- Rick touches on his role in the movie 'Roll Bounce', acting alongside Bow Wow, and having to learn how to roller skate. They also talk about his appearance in the Spielberg film 'War Of The Worlds', he outlines the scene and running through his lines with the iconic director, who told him not to say thank you for giving him the role. He also mentions his interactions with Tom Cruise.

37:27 -- Rick speaks on his role as 'Spanish' from the hit comedy 'Old School'. They discuss director Todd Phillips' road from directing one of the biggest comedies of all-time to 'Joker' one of the most acclaimed psychological thrillers of all-time. Rick speaks on working with Will Farrell, and Talib asks Rick about the hazing scene with cinder blocks, and working with old man Blue.

42:52 -- Rick outlines his experiences working with the legendary John Singleton in the film 'Illegal Tender'. He speaks to his filmmaking genius as a true visionary, his willingness to share knowledge, and strong ability to understand how to make movies successful.

45:52 -- Talib brings up Rick's love for hip hop, and mentions the fact that they collaborated on a song together. Kweli asks Rick who he thinks is the best rapper/actor, Talib tells Rick how he feels about his rapping ability, and Rick illustrates why he's chosen not to rap anymore after 13 years of pursuing a career as an emcee.

52:35 -- Rick talks about knowing and working with the legendary Sean Price. Talib recalls getting a shout-out from Sean in his last album before his passing, and both Rick and Talib reminisce over their friendship with Sean and how he pushed them both to step up as artists.

56:19 -- In closing Talib asks Rick: "Out of all the roles that you've played, what is the one that really taught you something, brought you joy, and/or helped you evolve as a man."

Beyonce is shining a light on Breonna Taylor's case ... calling on Kentucky's top prosecutor to bring charges against the cops who killed her during a "no-knock" search warrant in March.

The pop star penned and posted an open letter on her site Sunday to Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, highlighting the fact that while a new law has been passed in her name banning the use of no-knock warrants ... her family has still not received true justice.

She says it plainly, writing ... "Three months have passed -- and zero arrests have been made, and no officers have been fired. The LMPD's investigation was turned over to your office, and yet all of the officers involved in the shooting remain employed by the LMPD."

Beyonce adds, "Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and Officers Myles Cosgrove and Brett Hankison must be held accountable for their actions." They're the ones who busted into her apartment -- believing it was being used to house drugs -- and opened fire upon her and her boyfriend inside ... unloading 20 rounds, eight of which struck and ultimately killed Breonna.

The three officers were put on administrative leave -- the case is still under investigation.

Bey ends her letter with a list of demands for AG Cameron, saying she and the community want to see criminal charges brought against the three men, transparency in the investigation and subsequent prosecution of them, and then calls for a separate investigation into the Louisville Metro Police Department's handling of the case from the jump.

Beyonce caps it off with a heartfelt plea ... "Don't let this case fall into the pattern of no action after a terrible tragedy. With every death of a Black person at the hands of the police, there are two real tragedies: the death itself, and the inaction and delays that follow it. This is your chance to end that pattern. Take swift and decisive action in charging the officers."

She finishes by saying, "The next months cannot look like the last three."

Singer Barbra Streisand has helped make George Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter Gianna Floyd a Disney shareholder.

Gianna posted a photo on her Instagram account holding her Disney shares certificate and thanked Streisand in the caption.

“Thank you Barbra Streisand for my package, I am now a Disney Stockholder thanks to you,” she wrote.

The 10-time Grammy winner also gave Gianna two copies of her studio albums “My Name Is Barbra” and “Color Me Barba” from 1965 and 1966, respectively.

According to Business Insider, shares of Disney stock currently go for roughly $115. Before the coronavirus pandemic, shares were in the $140-$150 range, though they have slowly started to climb back up again. It’s unclear how many shares Gianna received from Streisand.

Kanye West has also financially supported Gianna in the wake of her father’s death. Earlier this month, he launched a college fund for Gianna to fully cover her eventual tuition. Texas Southern University also offered her a full-ride scholarship if she chooses to attend the school in the future.

Following George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police officers on May 25, protests have since continued around the country. Derek Chauvin, the officer who kneeled on George Floyd’s neck for more than eight minutes, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, and three other officers have been charged with aiding and abetting the murder.
