If anyone was wondering how Lindsay Lohan would make a living after her stay in jail and in-patient rehab, we now have our answer. The 24-year-old actress, who hasn't headlined a theatrical release since 2007, is set to net a lucrative payday for her first post-sentence interview. OK! magazine has offered Lohan $1 million for the interview, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Lohan has reportedly not yet agreed to the deal — she's still receiving treatment at a rehab facility run by UCLA Medical Center — but she will likely be released well before completing the court-ordered 90-day treatment plan, instead entering an out-patient program. Thus we might be hearing from Lohan — and the actress might be cashing a hefty paycheck — sooner than previously expected. Lohan, of course, won't be the first celebrity to be offered a big payoff following a personal scandal or tragedy. In 2007, after serving a short jail stint, Paris Hilton was reportedly offered as much as $1 million from NBC for her first post-jail interview before that deal fell through and she appeared on "Larry King Live," reportedly without payment. NBC also reportedly paid $2 million for an interview with Prince William and Prince Harry and the American rights to broadcast a concert in honor of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Whichever outlet ultimately lands the Lohan interview, it should expect to pony up some serious cash, as the actress' professional opportunities are limited at this point. She was fired from "The Other Side" in April, with the film's director, David Michaels, saying that "producers of the movie have reported that financiers have been resistant to finance the movie with Lindsay in the lead role." He added that Lohan was simply "not bankable." She does have a small role in Robert Rodriguez's "Machete," but it's not clear she'll be free to promote the film. Meanwhile, the filmmakers behind "Inferno," a biopic in which Lohan is set to star as 1970s porn star Linda Lovelace, remain committed to the actress, though the indie flick will hardly deliver a significant payday. In addition to the interview paycheck, THR reports that Lohan could attract appearance fees in New York and Los Angeles that range anywhere from $25,000 to $100,000. Yet it remains to be seen whether Lohan can make the necessary personal and professional changes to stay out of legal trouble in the future, especially as she heads back into the media spotlight so soon after jail and rehab. "She can take this and she can learn from it and it becomes a cathartic event in her life," Howard Bragman, founder of publicity firm Fifteen Minutes, told MTV News. "The one thing we haven't heard from Lindsay is 'I'm sorry, I have a problem, I'm going to resolve it.' She doesn't have PR problems, she has life problems. You can't fix your problems until you admit you have them. I think she needs a lot of therapy. She needs to let her career be second and her life be first." Source: MTV twitter-2a.png

Enya: On the Wings of Harmony and Happiness

Enya_2.jpgWhen I feel dreadfully tired and frustrated, when everything is dull and boring, I take my earphones, switch on Enya’s song to let harmony and relaxation enter my heart and soul. Indeed, these Enya’s divine compositions are really inspiring and light. They are always saturated with white magic and fabulous landscapes that emerge once you have listened either to Caribbean Blue or to The River Sings. 15s.jpg

Those who have not heard her songs do not know what Paradise looks like. It is not weird that her songs perfectly suit as sound tracks to magnificent epic movies. No doubt, Enya’s voice is a refined ornamentation of all cult and historic movies (Picture 1). Many famous films like Gladiator, Sweet November, and Lord of the Rings owe to the tracks contributing to the inspiring and hilarious atmosphere that each watcher can contemplate.
Her album called Only Time: The Collection is Enya’s the most significant work where she managed to include the most extraordinary music stories overwhelmed with divine sounds and hues of light and freedom (Picture 2). When listening to this album, I can forget about everything. So, I am trying not to listen to it when I have to write an online essay editing or academic writing.

Enya’s songs perfectly suit yoga lessons, or jogging, of morning walks. It endows your life with sense, happiness, calmness, and harmony. Therefore, I definitely advise you to regularly listen to these compositions to remain a moral equilibrium.

Video After The Jump While the death of hip-hop has been a matter of debate in recent years, the demise of the star female emcee had been all but accepted. There had always been at least one female rap act to contrast hip-hop's defining male edge, from Queen Latifah to Lil Kim to Missy Elliott to Lauryn Hill. But in the past few years, women rappers were mere blips on the scene, and the occasional hit only underscored how weak the field had become. Until now. Nicki Minaj, the in-your-face, highly animated sex kitten and protege of rap prince Lil Wayne, has not only emerged as hip-hop's leading female, she's outdoing her male counterparts, too. The 26-year-old Minaj has yet to release an official studio album, but she's saturating all facets of hip-hop, from radio to mixtapes to magazines. She's costarred on songs with Lil Wayne, Drake, Usher, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and Diddy, among many others. She's also set to appear on Kanye West's upcoming CD. With her collaborations, she's landed 10 songs on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop singles chart, including three in the Top 10; and Minaj's had eight overall tunes on the Hot 100. Her current single, the Annie Lennox-sampled "Your Love," is spending its seventh week on top of the rap charts; it's the first time a female act, as the lead artist, has topped that chart since Lil Kim did in 2003. And "Your Love" is steadily climbing elsewhere, peaking at No. 5 and No. 14 on the R&B and Hot 100 charts, respectively. "I think since Nicki came out there's going to be a lot of new girls coming out," producer-rapper Pharrell said. "There's always one that paves the way and opens the door (and) I think she reopened the door to hip-hop for females." Minaj, whose real name is Onika Maraj, was born in Trinidad, but grew up in Queens, N.Y. Lil Wayne discovered Minaj and signed her to his Cash Money imprint last year. She's released three mixtapes and performs with the rap group Young Money, which includes Lil Wayne and Drake. The group's 2009 album, the gold-selling "We Are Young Money," has produced two Top 10 singles on the pop charts "Now that you have somebody that has pretty much her own style and does her own thing, people are gravitating toward it, so I think that makes her stick out 'cause she's so different," said Ludacris, who had Minaj rap on his hit "My Chick Bad." Minaj's style is one that is playful, youthful and wild. She wears multicolored wigs, sings and raps in various accents and boasts about her sexuality, even playing up bisexuality, though she's said in a recent Vibe interview that she doesn't date or sleep with women. (Minaj's rep said the rapper would not be interviewed for this article because it was not solely about her.) Like Minaj, a lot of female rappers reached their height in the mid 1990s to early 2000s as part of a hip-hop posse. Junior M.A.F.I.A introduced Lil Kim, the multiplatinum diva who flaunted her sex appeal on the mic and in her music videos. Jay-Z introduced Foxy Brown, a feisty, skilled rapper who battled Lil Kim for rap's top female spot in the 90s. And Ruff Ryders, led by DMX, brought forth Eve. 50 Cent said the decline of those kind of posses has limited new female talent. "There's not as many female rappers because there's not as many emerging crews," 50 Cent explained. "When those new crews come up, there's a potential for a female artist when the head of that crew sees the idea of bringing someone to speak from a female perspective." Lil Kim and Foxy Brown both have seen their careers wane after criminal charges led to time behind bars. Eve has achieved platinum success, won a Grammy and stretched into television and movies, but she has had trouble releasing her fourth album after two disappointing singles in 2007. After leaving Interscope, she plans to release a new album with EMI in January. When asked about the lack of top female rappers, Eve said: "I wish I had an answer or some kind of theory. "In my travels, I do meet girls who are like, 'Oh, I want to be an emcee. I want to rap.' So I don't know what the problem is or why it hasn't happened." While Eve gives credit to Minaj, she says that hip-hop needs more than one voice speaking for women. "Even though Nicki is representing for females period, she's not representing for every female. She's a specific type of entertainer," Eve said. Read the rest of the article here twitter-2a.png Source: AP/ABCNews

Video After The Jump 11-time World Boxing Champion, James Toney is about to take on UFC legend, Randy Couture in his mixed martial arts debut at UFC 118 on August 28. During a press conference for the fight, the subject of Evander Holyfield was brought up. Holyfield said recently that Toney was making a mistake by venturing into the world of MMA. Toney wasn't happy about that, and had a message for Evander: "If you talk to Holyfield again, tell him to stop beating his wife.....stop and come see me. And by the way, I know he's fighting in Detroit, which is my hometown in November. Strange things can happen to you when you're in my town." When a reporter said that sounded like a threat, Tony didn't back down. "I don't care what it sounds like." Damn, I guess old grudges die hard. Holyfield was beaten by Toney in their 2003 fight. twitter-2a.png

One of music's biggest icons would like to duet with today's biggest pop sensation, for what could be a huge hit if done right. Hip-hop star Kanye West won't have to attend in person a mediation session aimed at resolving a lawsuit filed against him by rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight. A Miami federal judge recently agreed to permit West to take part in the Aug. 26 session by phone. West's lawyers say he can't be there personally because of a long-standing business commitment outside the continental U.S. Knight is seeking more than $1 million in damages from West and his companies. Knight was shot in the leg at a 2005 Miami Beach party hosted by West, whom he blames for lax security. West, Knight and their lawyers met in New York for six hours in June but failed to settle the case. The shooter has never been identified and the case is unsolved. Source: AP twitter-2a.png

Jay-Z has topped a list of the world's richest rappers, beating Sean 'Diddy' Combs in a list from US magazine Forbes. The Empire State Of Mind rapper made $63 million (£40 million) in personal income between June 2009 and June 2010. Diddy made less than half that with $30 million (£19 million). Akon came third followed by Lil Wayne and Dr Dre. Big income Jay-Z's income was no doubt boosted by the release of his album The Blueprint III and a number of high profile live gigs including headline slots at Isle Of Wight and Wireless in the UK. Lil Wayne - real name Dwayne Carter - still managed to earn $20 (£13 million) despite beginning a jail sentence in March for weapons charges. Forbes noted that all the highest earning names on the list had "diverse" business interests outside of music - including alcohol sponsorships, clothing lines and film appearances. Perhaps most surprisingly Eminem came joint 14th in the list despite his most recent album Recovery selling 741,000 copies in its first week. The Detroit rapper earned $8 million (£5 million). Zack O'Malley Greenburg, the writer who compiled the list, said: "It's pretty shocking to see him so low down on the list. Compared to his peers, he doesn't really do much outside of music." The full list of the list's top 20 is as follows: 1. Jay-Z – $63 million 2. Diddy – $30 million 3. Akon – $21 million 4. Lil Wayne – $20 million 5. Dr. Dre – $17 million 6. Ludacris – $16 million 7. Snoop Dogg – $15 million 8. Timbaland – $14 million 9. Pharrell – $13 million 10. Kanye West – $12 million 11. Drake – $9 million 11. T.I. – $ 9 million 12. Swizz Beatz – $9 million 14. The two went at it on Twitter yesterday (August 17), with Budden practically calling Davis every foul name in the book because of his youtube video, where he does a feminine version of the "Teach Me How To Dougie" dance. Wyclef Jean has gone into hiding following alleged death threats as he awaits an official announcement on whether he can run in Haiti's November's presidential election. The ex-Fugees star said he was at a secret location in Haiti in defiance of threats to leave the country but revealed few details about who may be responsible for the intimidation. Jean's presidential hopes hang in the balance as electoral officials prepare to announce whether he is eligible to run in what promises to be a tumultuous contest with dozens of candidates. A list of candidates who meet constitutional requirements to lead the earthquake-hit country – requirements that could disqualify Jean – was due to be published yesterday but officials said several unnamed candidates remained under review and that the announcement would not be made until Friday. In a series of emails to the Associated Press, the 40-year-old rapper said he did not know whether the electoral commission, known as the CEP, would approve his candidacy but that there had been questions about whether he met residency requirements: "We await the CEP decision but the laws of the Haitian constitution must be respected." His lawyers were at the commission's headquarters seeking to argue his case, he said. In the same emails he announced he was in hiding but did not elaborate on the nature of the threats. If approved, Jean will be a frontrunner, but the fact he has lived in the US since he was a boy could put a premature end to a campaign launched two weeks ago with fanfare, dancers and hype. Legal requirements and political intrigue – few believe the decision will be based on entirely technical reasons – could sink his hopes of swapping a recording studio for power in a broken country. Jean was born in Croix-des-Bouquets, outside the capital Port-au-Prince. At the age of nine he moved with his family to New York, then New Jersey, and made only fleeting return visits to the Caribbean. Opponents said his history violated constitutional requirements that a candidate must have his or her "habitual residence" in Haiti and have resided in the country for at least five consecutive years before election day. Jean said his appointment as a roving ambassador by President Rene Preval in 2007 exempted him from residency requirements. The race has drawn 34 candidates from diverse backgrounds, including veteran political operators and one-man band neophytes. "This is a very volatile situation. The easiest thing they can say is 'You are all candidates'. But I don't know if they will do that," Robert Fatton, a Haiti-born political expert at the University of Virginia, told the news website Haitian Truth. "It's going to be fascinating to see how many are in the race after 17 August." The Unity party of Preval, who is stepping down as president, has backed Jude Celestin, head of the government's primary construction firm, as his successor. The party had been expected to back a former prime minister, Jacques-Edouard Alexis, who instead registered with a different party, the Mobilisation for Haitian Progress. The horse-trading suggested that murky deals as much as votes could determine the election outcome. Fresh doubts about Jean's fitness for office arose today from a New York Times investigation into apparent mismanagement and questionable accounting at his charity, Yele Haiti. The newspaper alleged the charity had failed to deliver water as it had claimed to several camps of earthquake survivors, and that some donations vanished into blurred lines between Jean's business, political and charity endeavours. He denies any wrongdoing. Yesterday his public relations representative, Euro RSCG Worldwide PR, announced without explanation that it had resigned from all public relations work for Yele and Jean's presidential campaign. The musician has batted away doubts about his suitability for office. "Celebrity has taught me that politics is politricks. The fact that I'm coming with this with fresh eyes but not naive ears, I think that's a good start." Source: The Guardian twitter-2a.png

Tila Teqila was brutally beaten at the same festival just a couple of days prior to the Method Man incident. She has stated that she also plans to sue the event's organizers. twitter-2a.png

Video After The Jump Looks like fans will have to wait a little longer for the release of T.I.'s 'King Uncaged' album. T.I. says he needs more time to focus on the release of the movie, 'Takers', which also stars Chris Brown. So scratch the September 28 release date off your calenders. "I pushed the album back, so I could completely focus my attention ro the roll out and release of this film, Takers. Which will be coming out August 27," he explained. "And I felt like it wouldn't be fair to the film or the album if I was splitting my attention span amongst the two. And once we debut number one I will completely re-submerge myself back into the music." Tip says he has 100+ songs recorded and needs to narrow those down to 14 for the new album. Back in April, he told Rolling Stone that this album is "the most significant return from incarceration that the game has had." since Tupac got bailed out by Suge Knight. If he's going to meet his own expectations, he needs to get back into "album mode" fast. No word yet on the new release date. twitter-2a.png

More Pics After The Jump At 29, Kim Kardashian was just a tween when MTV started airing “The Real World,” but watching those televised tales of seven strangers picked to live in a house was her “aha” moment. In elementary school, ‘The Real World’ came on, and I was like, 'That’s it! I know I want to be on a reality show,'” Kardashian told Allure for their September issue. “And I was like, ‘Ok, when I’m old enough, I’ll make an audition tape.’” Kardashian doesn’t elaborate on whether or not she ever created an audition tape for “Real World,” but we do know that she created a tape of another kind, one that turned an intimate evening with ex-boyfriend Ray J into footage the entire world could see. “Not my most proud moment,” Kardashian told the beauty magazine about the sex tape. “It was humiliating. But let’s move on. Not that I don’t think it’s no one’s business, but I think I’ve done a good job with replacing negative things with positive things.” Those positive things all fall under what she terms “The Brand,” encompassing workout DVDs, clothing, self-tanner, skin care products, perfume and, of course, her E! reality show with her family, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” “I feel lazy when I’m not working. I learned all my business sense from my dad,” Kardashian explained. “He always believed in me, and I think the last thing he said to me before he passed away was, ‘I know you’re gonna be OK. I’m not worried about you.’” And so, Kardashian presses forward, trying to limit club appearances – where a celeb can get paid to just show up and party – in favor of endorsement deals for companies in which she also owns a stake. The strategy seems to be paying off – Kardashian recently purchased a five-bedroom home in Los Angeles rumored to cost more than $4 million. (Allure notes that Kardashian converted one of the bedrooms in the home into a closet.) Kardashian admitted that “It was way above my price range,” but “I saw it, and I was like, ‘This will be mine.’” Of course, living a lifestyle that’s so focused on building The Brand doesn’t leave much room for finding The One – at the time of her interview with Allure, Kardashian’s five-year relationship with football star Reggie Bush had come to an end. So while she’d thought that by 30 she’d be a mom of four, the challenges of dating have pushed that dream back about five years, and have dropped the expectant kid count from four to one or two. “Who would ever want to deal with a hectic schedule and not really [getting] to see someone that often? That’s the reality of my life right now,” Kardashian said of the challenges of dating. “It’s tough, but I’m totally fine on my own. I’ve always been in a relationship, so it’s kind of refreshing to just do me 100 percent.” What about her obsession with grooming? “I am Armenian, so of course I am obsessed with laser hair removal! Arms, bikini, legs, underarms...my entire body is hairless." Read the full interview in the September issue of Allure, which hits newsstands August 24.

Case dismissed! Charges of driving with expired auto insurance against hip-hop pioneer Ice-T were tossed by a Manhattan judge Tuesday morning after prosecutors acknowledged a DMV snafu. "That is what I'm talking about - dismissed!" the "Law & Order: SVU" star bellowed as he strutted out of a packed courtroom. "You appreciate that!" he said to people in the audience waiting for their cases to be called. "Like I said from the gate, I never broke the law," Ice-T said outside the courtroom, his buxom wife Coco, dressed in a black dress and sky-high heals, close to his side. "I had no knowledge of any suspension," he said. "That is why I was so angry." The 52-year-old actor, whose real name is Tracy Marrow, famously vented via an Internet video after his July arrest, irking city cops - the very people he's made a career of portraying on the television drama. "Everybody heard I called the cop a punk b----," he said on the video diatribe, referring to a statement he tweeted after his arrest. "The reason I did that was because he pretty much was a punk b----." Ice-T was vindicated when prosecutors yesterday told a Manhattan criminal court judge that the state Department of Motor Vehicles wrongly suspended his license in 2008 because the agency believed he'd ignored warnings to re-up his auto insurance. But Assistant District Attorney Jessica Barron admitted Ice-T had properly surrendered his New York plates when he moved to New Jersey - something that "was not reflected in the DMV's computerized records." "It basically turned out to be a clerical error," Ice-T explained of switching his registration to the Garden State when he moved there that year. The actor insisted he never got any notifications from New York indicating his driving privileges has been suspended. "The last two years, I've been driving around and then I'm in handcuffs." "I wasn't worried one bit," said Morrow's blond wife Coco, sporting matching hot pink lipstick and toe nail polish. Coco had her own admirers in court. "Damn girl, you're fine," one man said. Ice-T said he has no plans of suing. "I was just upset. You're not supposed to go to jail. The cop put me in jail that day. I said, 'You've really got to put me in?'" "I hate courts," he said as he sauntered out in a crisp blue suit and blue and red striped tie. "I'm not coming back." Asked where he was headed after court, Ice-T quipped: "Oh, I don't know, Disney Land." As he left, a fan shouted "I'm down with Ice-T." Source: NY Daily News twitter-2a.png

Video After The Jump BUDAPEST (Reuters Life!) – A Hungarian Roman Catholic priest has become a YouTube hit with his distinctive method of spreading the word on wheels. The Reverend Zoltan Lendvai, 45, who lives and preaches in Redics, a small village on Hungary's border with Slovenia, believes skateboarding can open the way to God for young people. The video of him in action, has so far attracted close to 275,000 hits and now also has a music version. Lendvai says he follows the ways of Saint John Bosco, an Italian priest and educator in the 19th century who dedicated his life to improving the lot of poor youngsters and used games as part of their education. "Many times I have felt that this is the way I can bring many people a bit closer to Jesus," he told Reuters. He learned the skills of skateboarding at the age of 14 at school but it was only later, when he served as a priest in the town of Kormend in northwest Hungary, that he realized the impact his skill could have on youngsters. He said three boys aged between 16 and 18 who had never attended church before started coming regularly after he showed them a few skateboard tricks. His first board bore the papal coat of arms and he has since given away at least six to his young parishioners. Source: Reuters twitter-2a.png
