NEW YORK (AP) — Jake Paul, the YouTube megastar influencer, has set his sights on mixed martial arts & signed a deal with the Professional Fighters League.

Paul has signed with PFL to compete in a new Super Fight division that is scheduled to include fights on pay-per-view. The 25-year-old Paul is 6-0 as a professional boxer. He has wins against former UFC champions Tyron Woodley & Anderson Silva.

Paul also partnered with PFL on Thursday to co-create a new 50-50 revenue partnership model for all PPV fights. The YouTuber also been named head of fighter advocacy, helping to promote the series and recruit more stars to the Super Fight division. The PFL PPV Super Fights are stand-alone events separate from the PFL League Season. PFL said it would stage two PPV Super Fights in 2023, scaling to more PPV events in following years.

PFL didn’t say when Paul would make his debut. Terms of the deal were not announced

“I’ve proven myself in and out of the boxing ring and now I am going to do the same in MMA, and there is no limit to the positive impact I can make on the sport,” Paul said. “I plan to enter the PFL SmartCage and once again show the world that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. Outside of the cage, equal fighter-pay and advocating for female fighters has been my passion & I am aligned with PFL to evolve the sport. I believe in PFL, their mission, and what they have accomplished in a very short period of time.”

Unlike most combat sports promotions, the PFL competes in a season-long format that includes playoffs & championship fights. PFL has a TV deal with ESPN.

ENOCH, Utah (KUTV) — Eight people were found dead inside an Iron County home Wednesday.

Police were called to the area in Enoch in reference to a welfare check.

When officers arrived, they checked inside the residence & found 3 adults & 5 minors deceased inside the home.

"Each appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds," an Enoch City press release stated.

Police said there was no threat to the public & they do not believe there were any suspects at large.

The incident remained under investigation.

Iron County School District released an update that 5 of the victims were students within the district. Additional details including identities or ages of the victims were not released.

Rob Dotson, city manager for Enoch City said they did not know why the tragic incident occurred but the community, "is feeling remorse, feeling pain, they're friends & family members & neighbors who are hurting because of this incident."

Dotson said it was hard to describe in words the emotions that were going through the people that live in the area.

"We all know this family. Many of us have served with them in church & community & gone to school with these individuals & so this community at this time is hurting; they're feeling loss, they're feeling pain, they have a lot of questions," Dotson said.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The man charged with the murder of Migos rapper Takeoff is out of jail on a $1 million bond.

Records show Patrick Clark made bond on Wednesday.

This comes after Clark's defense team tried to have his bond lowered to $300,000, saying the suspect could not come up with the cash to get out.

Initially, Clark's bond was set at $2 million, but Judge Josh Hill agreed to lower it to $1 million. Hill ruled that previous statements made by Clark indicated that he could pay a $1 million bail & that there are bail bond companies that would take on that risk.

For that reason, the judge denied the request to lower the bond to $300,000, keeping it at $1 million.

Prosecutors previously raised concerns that Clark wasn't being upfront about all his financial assets. They said he works as a local DJ & strip club promotor & deals largely in cash, so it's hard to determine how much money he actually has.

They also raised concerns over him being a possible flight risk if he is not in custody.

Clark had to surrender his passport to the court during a previous appearance.

Under his bond conditions, Clark's not allowed to leave his parent's home on the far east side of Houston. He also can't have any contact with Takeoff's family.

NEW YORK (CBS New York) -- An NYPD officer has been suspended after responding to a fight involving a group of girls on Staten Island.

Video of the incident has people split on how the situation was handled.

The 8-second clip, which has spread on social media, shows an NYPD officer repeatedly punching a young girl. The girl, 14-year-old Kyonna Robinson, is also seen swinging toward the officer.

"He pushed me & then I punched him in his face 2 times & we just started fighting," Robinson said.

She said it all started when her 12-year-old sister got in a fight with another girl after school on Tuesday.

"The girl is bigger than my sister, fighting my sister, of course I'm gonna jump in. I didn't even know what was going on. I just ran over there," Robinson said.

Robinson said she saw an officer putting her sister in handcuffs. She is seen approaching & then nudging the cop, who pushes back.

It escalates from there.

"I don't care who you are. You touch me, I'm gonna fight back," Robinson said.

The NYPD tweeted, in part, "The actions of those officers is under investigation by the Internal Affairs Bureau. One officer has been suspended."

Carol Smith, a retired NYPD officer who lives in the area, gave her input.

"He should have never been suspended, at all. That's my opinion," Smith said. "I always say to people, before you judge an officer, imagine being put in that situation and how would you react?"

When asked what it was like to be in that situation, Robinson said, "I was disappointed in the NYPD. I'm a whole child. Why are you putting your hands on me? You're supposed to be breaking up the fight."

Robinson was charged as a juvenile with assaulting an officer & resisting arrest. She said she was taken to the hospital with a bump on her head & headache, but is doing okay.

Mexican authorities on Monday raised the death toll from an attack on a state prison in Ciudad Juarez across the border from El Paso, Texas to 17, a brazen operation that appeared designed to free the leader of a local gang.

25 inmates escaped in the attack.

10 of the dead were prison guards who were attacked by gunmen who arrived early Sunday in armored vehicles & fired on the entrance & inside dormitories.

Among those who escaped is the leader of Los Mexicles, Ernesto Piñón de la Cruz, also known as El Neto.

El Neto, 33, has been in prison for 14 years serving a sentence for kidnapping and murder. An attempt by his gang to free him during a prison transfer in 2010 failed and he was injured.

The others inmates who escaped were members of the Mexicles gang, which is associated with the Caborca Cartel. The Mexicles have been one of Juarez's main gangs for decades and for many years were known to work with the Sinaloa Cartel.

The Caborca Cartel had been led by drug lord Rafael Caro Quintero who was recaptured in July. He was allegedly behind the killing of a U.S. DEA agent in 1985.

Defense Secretary Luis Cresencio Sandoval said the soldiers & state police who retook control of the prison found 10 "VIP" cells outfitted with televisions & other comforts. One even had a safe filled with cash.

Authorities also found cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl 2 marijuana inside the prison.

People are looking to profit off Damar Hamlin's tragic injury by creating fraudulent GoFundMe campaigns, advertised as helping the athlete who's currently fighting for his life ... but we're told the online company's already cracking down on anyone pretending to help the Bills player.

A spokesperson for GoFundMe tells TMZ ... there's only 1 verified fundraiser on the platform confirmed by Damar's family -- The Chasing M's Foundation Community Toy Drive, which has surpassed $4.7M since Damar's incident.

We're told anything not authorized by the family is already being taken down in real-time.

For those unaware, several campaigns went live since Damar's cardiac arrest Monday night. Some saying the funds will benefit him directly while in the hospital & others are exact replicas of his toy drive fundraiser.

It looks like the unauthorized campaigns didn't pick up a ton of steam ... 1 campaign was even created with the sole purpose of warning others about Damar-related scams.

A GFM spokesperson tells us the company's top priority is keeping people safe & to "protect the generosity of our donors" ... adding that it isn't uncommon for others to jump on the platform & try to help out. That being said, GoFundMe will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Damar was transported to a nearby hospital after suffering from cardiac arrest on the field ... he remains in critical condition in the ICU.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Buffalo defensive back Damar Hamlin was in critical condition early Tuesday after the Bills say his heart stopped following a tackle during the Monday Night Football game, which was indefinitely postponed.

Hamlin collapsed on the field during the first quarter of the nationally televised game against the Cincinnati Bengals & was given medical treatment for nearly 20 minutes before being taken to a hospital.

“Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field & he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment,” the Bills said in a statement. “He is currently sedated & listed in critical condition.”

In a chilling scene, Hamlin was administered CPR on the field, ESPN reported, while surrounded by teammates, some of them in tears, while they shielded him from public view. He was hurt while tackling Bengals receiver Tee Higgins on a seemingly routine play that didn’t appear unusually violent.

On the play the 6-foot, 200-pound Hamlin was injured, Higgins led with his right shoulder, which hit the defensive back in the chest. Hamlin then wrapped his arms around Higgins’ shoulders & helmet to drag him down. Hamlin quickly got to his feet, appeared to adjust his face mask with his right hand & then fell backward about three seconds later & lay motionless.

Hamlin was treated on the field by team & independent medical personnel & local paramedics & he was taken by ambulance to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Acorn Morocco found himself in San Diego for a 2 year stint amidst his constant back and forth from Jersey to North Philly (They’re neighbors). Dana White & his wife got physical with each other on New Year's Eve, stunning onlookers in a crowded Cabo San Lucas nightclub ... an incident Dana says was, regretfully, fueled by booze.

The UFC honcho & Anne White, who've been married for 26 years, were celebrating Saturday night with friends in El Squid Roe, but things took a turn shortly after they all welcomed in 2023 at midnight.

The couple & their group were in a VIP area above the dance floor, and when Dana leaned over to say something to Anne ... she reacted by slapping him across the face. Dana immediately slapped her back in the face, before friends jumped in & pulled them apart.

We spoke to Dana about the incident, and he admits he and Anne had been drinking heavily -- but quickly adds that's no excuse for him getting physical. He told us, "You've heard me say for years, 'There's never ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman,' & now here I am on TMZ talking about it."

He says he's embarrassed by this "horrible" incident & he & Anne have apologized to each other. He says they're "good," but their biggest concern now is for their 3 kids ... with whom they've already discussed the fight.
