While many movie studios have distanced themselves from Lindsay Lohan, the creative minds behind one project were eagerly working with her. Lohan was set to star in "Inferno," a film chronicling the life of '70s porn icon Linda Lovelace, and news that she's heading to jail has already resulted in the biopic's director bashing the actress' 90-day sentence..

But what does the billion-dollar porn industry think about Lohan's embrace of one of their own? Before her sentencing, MTV News spoke to various figures in the adult-entertainment world to get an insider's view on Lohan's latest Hollywood exploits.

Like Lohan, Lovelace courted controversy and faced an unraveling career, volatile breakups and drug convictions. And according to "Pirates" superstar Jesse Jane, that's precisely why the troubled actress is right for the role.

"The thing is, no one big in Hollywood would play [Lovelace] because it has to do with porn. That's a taboo thing for actresses," Jane said. "Lindsay, I think, will really be able to tap into Linda Lovelace because they might have a lot of things in common."

Both Jane and fellow star Chanel Preston agree that the movie will give Lohan the career bump she needs. "If she is able to play Linda well," Preston said, "then I think people will really respect that she possibly used her own troubles to accurately portray an American icon."

Hollywood has rarely flirted with its steamier colleagues, with the Oscar-nominated "The People vs. Larry Flint" being the chief exception. "Inferno" producers are hoping they can tap into the same vein by telling the tortured tale of Linda Lovelace, whose breakout movie "Deep Throat" catapulted adult films into the mainstream consciousness. Both Jane and Preston agree that the story is ripe for gripping storytelling.

" 'Deep Throat' was such a huge movie and probably still the most talked-about [adult film] of all time, and starring in that really made her career," Jane said of Lovelace. "I love that she was very open about liking porn and didn't care about what people thought about it or her. That says a lot about her character, and I respect that."

Whether "Inferno" can move forward with Lohan remains in question, but she can count on the support of the adult-film community that she hopes to portray.

"Maybe this will give Lindsay an opportunity to play a role that she relates to and hopefully that will, in turn, make for a great movie," Preston said.

Mel Gibson has been caught on tape making ANOTHER bigoted remark, this time against Latinos, RadarOnline.com is reporting exclusively.

The Oscar-winning director/actor is heard referring to one of his staffers as a “wetback” during a recorded argument with Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of his love child.

RadarOnline.com has heard the tape in which Mel tells Oksana: “I will report her to the f**king people that take f**king money from the wetbacks.”

He is referring to turning a worker into immigration authorities, RadarOnline.com has been told.

'Wetbacks' is a disparaging slang term for those of Latino heritage, especially Mexican illegal immigrants in the United States.

The slur stems from the fact that illegal Mexicans would sometimes swim to cross into other countries.

This latest bile to flow from Mel’s mouth comes after the Braveheart star’s disgusting tirade directed towards his ex-lover – as first and exclusively reported by RadarOnline.com.

"You look like a f**king pig in heat," Mel spewed in the obscenity-laced recording.

"If you get raped by a pack of n****rs, it will be your fault."

He also threatened Oksana: “"I am going to come and burn the f**king house down... but you will blow me first."

The NAACP, Jesse Jackson and others Civil Rights leaders blasted Gibson for use of the N-word and his sickening rant.

Four years ago, Mad Mel apologized profusely and reportedly entered rehab after verbally attacking the Jewish community after being picked up by police.

The emergence of the new tape comes as he is at war with Oksana after their breakup. They have an eight-month-old daughter Lucia.

RadarOnline.com broke the story Wednesday that the Lethal Weapon star admitted he beat his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, while she was holding their baby daughter Lucia.

In the recording, a teary Oksana is heard asking Mel, “What kind of a man is that who would hit a woman when she is holding a child in her hands, hitting her twice in the face?

“What kind of a man is that?” the Russian musician repeats.

The Braveheart star responds: “You know what — you f**king deserved it.

Oksana, 40, has taken out a restraining order against Gibson, claiming that he physically abused her throughout their stormy relationship.

She claims Mel, 54, knocked out her two front teeth, leaving her bloodied and bruised, during a physical confrontation on January 6 at the actor’s Malibu mansion.

He went to rehab after the 2006 incident.

But as yet, the actor has not apologized or acknowledged any wrongdoing in these latest hate-fuelled outbursts

Otty, Sanchez, was fund not guilty by reason of insanity in the death of her son, Scott Wesley Buccholtz-Sanchez. Sanchez apparently ate the child's brain and some other body parts before stabbing herself,

Video After The Jump

SAN ANTONIO - In the 187th District Court today Otty Sanchez, 34, was found 'not guilty' by reason of insanity for brutally killing her newborn baby nearly a year ago.

It was back in July of 2009 when police called to the scene said it was the most gruesome they had ever witnessed. Officers found 3-week-old Scott Wesley Sanchez Buchholz dead inside a bedroom at the home in the 300 block of Wayside. The newborn's mother, Otty Sanchez, told police she killed, decapitated, and mutilated the baby boy.

Bexar County District Court Judge Raymond Angelini Thursday found Sanchez ‘not guilty’ by reason of insanity as part of an agreement with prosecutors. Sanchez waived her right to a jury trial, and defense attorneys entered the insanity plea on her behalf. Judge Angelini then took less than five minutes to make his decision to accept the plea.

The defense attorney submitted several mental evaluations that all said Sanchez was insane at the time of the incident. Sanchez will now be sent North Texas State Hospital in Vernon, Texas for 30 days. She’ll then return to San Antonio to face the judge again. He’ll then decide how much longer she will stay in the institution. Judge Angelini will see her at least once a year, and if at some point he decides she if mentally sane, she could be released.

Sanchez showed little emotion, but her attorney said the proceedings were emotionally draining for her.

It would have been little baby Scotty's first birthday.

“She misses her son tremendously but she can't explain why or how it happened” said Defense attorney Ed Camara.

After hugs and tears by both Sanchez's mother Manuela Sanchez and the baby's father, Scott Buchholz, we asked Manuela if she thought today's ruling was the right one.

“I think so. Yes. No doubt about it,” commented Manuela. “I'm glad that my daughter gets a second chance at life. I'm sorry my grandson did not get that chance”

Sanchez told authorities the devil made her mutilate and dismember her child. Scott Wesley Buchholz-Sanchez was three weeks old when authorities who received a frantic 911 call from the boy's aunt arrived to find his mutilated body, and Sanchez wailing the devil made her do it. On the call, Sanchez can be heard screaming, "I didn't mean to do it! He told me to!" while her sister pleads for an ambulance.

“This was probably one of the most horrendous cases that we have seen as far as the murder of a child,” said County District Attorney Susan Reed.

Sanchez was charged with capital murder and was found competent to stand trial. But Reed said after three examinations by separate doctors determined she was legally insane when she killed her son, the court had no choice but to accept the plea.

“She will be committed until the court decides she is not a danger to herself or anyone else,” Reed said.

Reed said she was horrified by what Sanchez did, but also disturbed by the fact that she had sought treatment before killing her son and did not receive the care she needed.

“A lot of people are OK when they are taking their medications but once they stop taking them, they are a danger again," Reed said.

Sanchez periodically sought treatment for mental illness before her son was born and even spent a few hours in an emergency room after the birth because she was hearing voices less than a week before the attack.

Defense attorney Ed Camara said she had been prescribed the antidepressant citalopram after giving birth but had only taken it the day before killing her son. The drugs do not take effect for a few weeks.

An estimated 1,000 women are afflicted with postpartum psychosis. Women with the diagnosis can suffer dangerous delusions and desires to hurt their children, unlike postpartum depression, which occurs in as many as one in five new mothers.

Andrea Yates, the suburban Houston mother who drowned her five children in a bathtub in 2001, and Dena Schlosser, who cut off her baby's arms in 2004 both suffered from the psychosis, their attorneys said.

The justice system has come a long way since Yates was convicted and faced a possible death sentence in 2002, said her attorney, Greg Parnham.

Yates was sentenced to life in prison before her case was overturned on appeal, after which she was found not guilty by reason of insanity in 2006 and sent to a state hospital.

“I think that we have to understand as a society that this gender-based mental disability is real," Parnham said. "New mothers sometimes experience severe depression -- some of those mothers become psychotic."

It's over - before it even happened.

The plug has been pulled on another free outdoor concert featuring Drake in New York City before the superstar rapper even stepped off the tour bus, the Daily News has learned.

ABC decided not to book the 23-year-old Canadian rapper for a July 16 show in Central Park after the NYPD told the city Parks Department that Parks' security plan wasn't up to snuff, Parks and police sources said.

The concert was going to be part of ABC's "Good Morning America" summer concert series, which has already featured megastars Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers and Alicia Keys.

"We were interested in having Drake perform, but he was never officially booked," an ABC spokesperson said yesterday without elaborating.

A spokesperson for Drake confirmed there was a "booking in place," but declined to comment further.

The Parks Department could not come up with the security staffing that the NYPD thought would be necessary for such an event, police sources said.

This is the second time a New York show featuring the "Find Your Love" rapper has been called off in less than a month.

Drake's June 15 free concert at South Street Seaport was abruptly canceled after 25,000 unruly fans who showed up to hear the rap phenom tossed chairs, bottles and flowerpots.

Big Boi finally delivered his long-awaited solo album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, this week. But after taking three years to deliver the LP, is it safe for fans to assume Big's next effort is just around the corner? Not exactly.

The slick Atlanta MC says he's started work on a follow-up, Daddy Fat Sax, but between promoting his current collection and juggling a handful of projects — his next set, partner Andre 3000's solo disc and another Outkast album — Big Boi is juggling a lot right now or, as he put it, "tinkering."

"I got about four, five songs that I'm tinkering with right now," Big Boi told MTV News about Daddy Fat Sax, tentatively slated for a late-2011 release. "But at the same time, there's a couple of records that we picked out for the Outkast record too. So while Dre is working on his records, we're kinda, with Organized Noize, seeing what's gonna go for the 'Kast album. And at the same time, with the beats I already got, I'm just making the most out of my time, whether I'm on the road touring or just on the bus or whatever; just putting ideas down."

The Georgia rapper said this album showcases his sometimes-overlooked gifts as a solo artist ("I'm a master of my craft"). Big Boi's Sir Lucious Left Foot features collaborations with T.I., Gucci Mane and Janelle Monáe, among others. Andre 3000, Lil Jon and Scott Storch provide production assistance on the set, and the Storch-produced lead single, "Shutterbugg," has been getting rave reviews. Big recently dropped the video for his sophomore single, "Follow Us."

The July 6 album was a labor of love for the Outkast MC. Originally slated for release three years ago on Jive, where the duo is signed to as a group, Sir Lucious Left Foot got a new home after disagreements with his Outkast label led Big Boi to jump ship and ink a solo deal with Def Jam.

"With this album right here, there was just a lot of label politics in the background that kinda fueled my fire," Big Boi said of enduring multiple delays. "You not gonna tell me what I'm doing isn't jamming. I know this is some of the best music I'm making in my whole life; I'm putting everything into it. I'm spending time away my family, my wife and my kids to record for three years and you don't respect my craft? That kind of fueled everything.

J. Cole is definitely on the come up and is on every hip hop head's radar.

Being the first artist signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation imprint has to put a lot of pressure on an mc. But if J.Cole is sweating the expectations he's not showing it.

He just dropped the video for the track "Who Dat". Now he's out doing some promo work in preparation for his debut cd.

He stopped by the UK's Tim Westwood show and dropped some fire lyrics over several classic Wu Tang Clan beats

J.Cole's not yet titled album is supposed to drop in October.

TMZ has learned ... LeBron James and his mother Gloria James are being sued for millions by a man who claims he tried to prove he's the NBA star's biological father -- but LeBron and his mom tampered with the evidence in a diabolical cover-up.

The lawsuit is explosive -- in it, 55-year-old Leicester Bryce Stovell claims he met Gloria in a D.C. area bar in 1984 ... and had unprotected sex with her on the night they met. He later found out she was 15-years-old at the time ... he was 29.

According to the docs -- filed recently in federal court -- Gloria has spent the rest of her life shielding LeBron from the truth.

But the man making the claim isn't some schmuck -- dude is a Princeton graduate ... who earned a law degree from the University of Chicago ... and then became a Senior Legal Advisor for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

In his suit, Stovell claims he has a very clear recollection of the night he had "consensual sexual relations" with Gloria -- in fact, he even remembers apologizing for his sub-par performance.

Leicester claims Gloria went back to her hometown in Ohio after they hooked up -- but returned several months later to inform him she was pregnant with a boy named LeBron ... but she never specifically identified the father.

Leicester -- a self-proclaimed high school star athlete -- says he remembers telling Gloria, "Well, if he's mine, make sure he plays basketball." He claims that was the last time he saw Gloria for more than 20 years.

According to the docs, Leicester claims he reconnected with Gloria over the phone in 2007 -- when he began to think he could be LeBron's father ... partly because they look almost identical. Leicester also notes that when he saw LeBron at an NBA game he was, "struck by our similarity in appearance ... James and I are nearly if not identical height and pigmentation and have very similar athletic body types."

Leicester claims during the 2007 phone call -- Gloria denied ever meeting him -- threatened to have him physically harmed -- and told him, "LeBron's money is for his children."

A few days after the phone call, Leicester claims LeBron -- through his lawyer -- agreed to take a DNA paternity test.

Leicester claims he was given results that showed he was not LeBron's dad ... but several months later, he began to suspect that the results were tampered with ... and Gloria and LeBron were behind the fraud.

So why would LeBron participate in such a cover-up? Leicester claims it's all, "due to anger at perceived abandonment and conflict arising from his image as a successful fatherless child from the projects."

He also claims that Gloria had "fabricated" a story about LeBron's real father for the "one dimensional commercial image-making purpose ... to make [LeBron's] life suggestive of Spike Lee's popular 1998 sports drama film, 'He Got Game.'"

Leicester is now seeking $4 million from both LeBron and his mother -- claiming fraud, defamation and misrepresentation.

And check this out -- Leicester also points out that LeBron named his 2nd son "Bryce" -- and claims it's no coincidence. As we said, Leicester's middle name is Bryce.

LeBron's reps could not be reached for comment.

(CNN) -- Authorities said Wednesday they have arrested a suspect in the Grim Sleeper serial killer case and will charge him with 10 counts of murder.

Lonnie David Franklin Jr., 57, faces an additional count of attempted murder, officials said.

Nicknamed for taking long breaks between attacks, the killer is believed responsible for at least 11 deaths since 1985 in south Los Angeles. The killer targeted black women, some working as prostitutes, using the same small caliber weapon

Margaret Prescod, who founded the Black Coalition Fighting Black Serial Murders and worked heavily with the families of the victims in the case, told CNN she spoke with the Grim Sleeper Task Force who informed her of the arrest Wednesday.

Prescod said Det. Dennis Kilcoyne, head of the task force, told her that unlike a previous arrest in the case that turned out to be wrong, he was sure they had gotten their man this time.

"He told me that what they have is very solid," Prescod said.

Prescod said she is "cautiously optimistic" about the development because there was an arrest years ago in the case, which police touted as solidly based on ballistics evidence, but turned out to be false.

If Franklin turns out to be the Grim Sleeper, "it would be a huge relief, not only for the [victims' families], but for the entire community that remained at threat," Prescod said.

"We are mortified that it has taken this long to make an arrest but nevertheless, one is always glad when there is a breakthrough and we can only hope right now that it is a solid breakthrough."

Prescod told CNN she met with victims' family members, who had many questions about the arrest.

Princess Berthomieux Killed in 2001

Family members were told not to give any details about the case or speak to the media until officials hold a press conference Thursday, she said.

Overall, Prescod said, there was a feeling of relief among the relatives of the serial killer's victims.

During a quick news conference near the suspect's home, Capt. Kevin McClure with LAPD Robbery Homicide said family members had been briefed on the case.

McClure also said Franklin would be arraigned in court Thursday morning.

District Attorney Steve Cooley praised the commitment of the LAPD in solving this multidecade case.

"This was accomplished by the LAPD's hard work with great assistance from the California Department of Justice Division of Law Enforcement personnel," Cooley said.

Alicia Alexander Killed In 1998

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa echoed Cooley's statement.

"There was a lot of painstaking work that went into this and we are very proud of the work our officers have done in making this happen," Villaraigosa said.

Prescod told CNN she had spoken with several of the victims' families, some of whom are members of her coalition, to tell them about the news.

She said family members were screaming and shouting on the phone when she told them the news, elated that perhaps they could find closure in the deaths of their loved ones.

Debra Jackson Killed In 1985

Aerial footage on Wednesday showed police searching cars in the garage of the suspect's home in south Los Angeles -- not far from the corridor where the victims' bodies were dumped.

"That is indeed very close along the corridor that these murders happened," Prescod said of the location. "So it's not surprising, if this is the guy, that it would be someone who is from the neighborhood, familiar with the area."

Prescod said much of her organization's efforts focused on the area where Franklin was arrested.

"We went around there, going door-to-door to make sure people knew about the murders. At the time that we did that, most of the people hadn't even heard about the murders and people were concerned because they felt -- this is happening and we frankly don't know anything about it."

Before the arrest, officials struggled to find new leads partially because the changing makeup of the neighborhood where the crimes were committed made it difficult to find witnesses. The killer left behind DNA and fingerprints that police were unable to match to a name.

A 911 call made in 1987 reporting one of the murders led police to a van they believed was involved. But the trail went cold.

In May, new composite sketches of a suspect went up on billboards across Los Angeles as police intensified their hunt for the serial killer.

Big Bad 40, known by the Court of Law as Lawrence White aka 40 Glocc is in an active case to defend himself.

“They are using my songs against me. I thought the Constitution of the United States of America which is where I live grants me the first amendment which is freedom speech, I mean that's what I read,” says Big Bad 40.

Last month the San Bernardino Count District Attorney's office said they have supporting evidence showing the rappers' top status in a gang.

There is no proof of any illegal activity made by Big Bad 40. Although the District Attorney said the rapper was seen selling drugs via surveillance cameras; officers that testified under oath said that he was not.

No evidence including surveillance cameras, have proven the rapper guilty of gang crimes. Cameras place him onsite of gang affiliated areas such as the Rancho Avenue and Mill Street an area dubbed as “The Zoo.

Although these areas were known as gang havens years ago, the past three to four years have proven safe. Bottomline, there is no proof of him shooting, stealing or committing any crimes ever.

In 1996, Big Bad 40 was suspected of participating in an incident involving a gun battle but he was never charged. The rapper was reported to have a tattoo on his chest with C.C.C. standing for Colton City Crips.

A recent article released on July 4, 2010 stirred up Big Bad 40 who feels like the system is using the newspaper to trick the people by implying certain things and telling half of the stories told in court.

My rights are being violated and somebody is lying on me. I don't have any tattoos on my chest and whoever is putting out this wrong information can come over here and take a picture. They make things up when I boast and brag and tease them in my music they find ways to punish me for not allowing them to dictate what I can and cannot do for my income and entertainment purposes,” says the rapper.

The First Amendment guarantees the right to speak freely and in this case; Big Bad 40 references the Colton City Crips, his upbringing and beliefs.

“Under the Amendment the rapper has the right speak without subjecting himself to the government-imposed restraints of a gang abatement injunction,” says Attorney Thomas Brackley.

The luckiest person in the world?

Look no farther than Joan Ginther, at least when it comes to winning the lottery.

Since 1993, the 63-year-old woman has won four windfalls on the Texas Lottery, each time winning more than $1 million for a total of $20.4 million.

The most recent win that has everyone talking: $10 million in a scratch-off game called “$140,000,000 Extreme Payout.”

Not only has each ticket been bought in Texas; two of the tickets have been bought in the same store, right in Bishop, Ginther’s town of birth where neighbors say she comes back every so often to visit her father and, apparently, try her luck.

“This is a very lucky store,Bob Solis, the manager of Times Store, told the Corpus Christi, Tex.,-based Caller Times as news about the most recent win began to circulate Friday. The owner said the store sells an average of 1,000 tickets a day.

4 Texas Lottery wins, $20.4 million
Ginther’s first windfall came 17 years ago, when she won $5.4 million in a “Lotto Texas” game. She opted to have that sum paid out annually over 19 years.

The remaining wins came from scratch-off tickets.

In 2006 and in 2008, Ginther won two separate games that brought in a total of $5 million. She asked for both of those sums to be paid out in lump.

The most recent win, which officials estimate will hover at around $7.5 million after taxes, will also be paid out in lump sum.

The revelation of Ginther’s rather miraculous streak of luck over the last 17 years has garnered international attention – and wonder – over the past few days.

“This final bit of winning lottery must confirm Mrs. Ginther as the world’s luckiest lottery winner,” World Lottery News said in a statement.

The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported that the odds of winning four lottery jackpots is more than 200 million to 1.

Elusive winner 'born under a lucky star'
And as for the woman behind the massive checks from Texas Lottery?

It seems Ginther is almost as elusive as the mystery to her winning ways. Ginther has requested minimal publicity from the Texas Lottery and has not returned any phone calls to any media outlets that have reached out to her since last Friday.

Public records reveal, however, that she currently lives in Las Vegas, Nev., and neighbors have told several media outlets that she returns home to see her father in Bishop, Tex., where she frequently stops in to Times Store to buy a lottery ticket.

“It’s incredible for the store owner,” Texas Lotto Director Bobby Heith told the Caller Times. “Most of our 16,000 retail stores have never sold a winning ticket.”

The store itself will get $10,000 for selling the most recent winning ticket.

Regardless of who Ginther is or how she is able to to pick ’em, Heith told the Caller Times that one thing was clear. “She’s obviously been born under a lucky star.”

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) -- Prosecutors continue to investigate a southwest St. Louis area woman they say knowingly spread the HIV virus by selling sex to unknowing men.

St. Louis County police say 20-year-old Nigaila Gibbs of the 7100 block of Horner Avenue, west of Bellevue, is charged with Prostitution while Knowingly Infected with HIV and is held on a bond of $50,000 pending her initial court appearance. Court records indicate Gibbs also goes by the alias "Sarah."

Police tell NewsChannel 5 Gibbs is alleged to have had numerous sexual encounters with the victims without telling them of her own HIV status.

"Well the first thing is go see a doctor, be checked, make sure you're medically all right. If they have significant others, hopefully they'll share that information with them," St. Louis County Police Sergeant Adam Kavanaugh said.

"But also come forward as victims of hers, because we know that she did not tell anybody that she was infected that she had contact with. And that means either professionally or in her personal life, because she also has personal relationships with people as well."

Investigators say Gibbs solicited men on Bellevue in Richmond Heights and Maplewood and in St. Louis on Grand, Cherokee, and Chippewa.

Authorities are now searching for additional victims who may have also exposed themselves to the infected woman they arrested on Thursday.

Jodie Bica is STD Program Manager for the St. Louis County Health Department. Bica said whether a partner of a person who has sex with someone who is HIV-positive contracts the virus depends on the viral load and the partner's immune system.

"So there's no sense in someone rushing to the clinic, 'Oh I had unprotected sex yesterday, did I get HIV?' said Bica. "Because it's not going to show up. And then if the client does indeed test positive, then there's a risk to the partner."

Police say anyone who recognizes Gibbs and had sexual activities with her, should immediately seek medical treatment and contact the St. Louis County Police Crimes Against persons Unit at 1-314-615-5400.

In just the last several months, Suge has been accused of beating up and robbing rapper Yukmouth (Yuk denies this happened). He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon in May. And just last week the former Death Row Records kingpin was hit with a restraining order and told to stay away from a man who claims Knight threatened his life.

WATERBURY, Conn. -- The former pastor of a Waterbury church has been arrested in connection with an investigation into the theft of church money.

Kevin Gray, 64, turned himself in to Waterbury police Tuesday morning after learning of a warrant for his arrest on larceny charges.

Gray is accused of stealing money from Sacred Heart Church over the course of seven years. Police said Gray used the money to pay for personal expenses, including hotels, restaurants, clothing and male escorts. He is accused of taking $1.3 million over the seven years.

Police said Gray spent $200,000 on various Manhattan restaurants, $100,000 on hotels, $80,000 on clothing and designer suits and $45,000 on rent and tuition for two men.

Police said when they confronted Gray, he told them he was unhappy with his church assignments and said, "He began taking money because he felt the church owed it to him."

Gray was suspended last month by the Archdiocese of Hartford from all of his priestly duties and can no longer function as a priest in Connecticut or anywhere in the country, according to officials.

Officials said Gray was the priest at Sacred Heart from Jan. 1, 2003, through April 15, 2010, when he was placed on an indefinite leave of absence for medical reasons.

Now, the archdiocese said it is looking into whether claims Gray made about being sick were even true. When the archdiocese asked for records that were missing over those years, Gray said he fell behind because he was sick.

The archdiocese went to police last month and asked for an investigation to be launched, which culminated in Gray's arrest.

Nicki Minaj aimed to make noise with her debut single "Massive Attack," which was produced by Alex Da Kid (Eminem, B.o.B), featured a hook penned by Sean Garrett (Beyoncé) and boasted a Hype Williams-directed video. It didn't quite connect with the masses, however, despite all the pedigree.

But then "Your Love," a throwaway number the Queens femcee planned to sit on, was stolen and leaked to the Web. The result? Nicki Minaj became the first solo female hip-hop artist in more than eight years to score a #1 record on Billboard's rap chart.

"I was not planning on putting the song out at all," she told MTV News over the weekend on the "Your Love" video set. "But then I heard it one day, somebody told me it was online. And I was like, 'No way, no way in the world that song is out.' I went and listened to it and was really upset. It wasn't mixed, it wasn't finished, it wasn't anything — I wasn't gonna use it at all. But then radio started playing it."

Soon enough, the record shot up to #1; the last woman to rule the rap charts was Missy Elliott with "Work It."

"Isn't that crazy?" Nicki said. "Crazy. I don't even know how it feels [to have a #1 hit] right now. But it's amazing."

In the meantime, the Lil Wayne protégé is still working on her untitled debut album, which she hopes to release by the end of the year. She recently aligned herself with Diddy and is fresh off winning for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the BET Awards last month.

According to Nicki, though, she's still rooted in the spirit of a newcomer and not letting success go to her head.

"Sometimes people see the glitz and the glamour. That's why they envy you," Minaj said earlier this year. "They don't see three, four, five years ago. They don't see when I was selling my mixtape for $2 on Jamaica Avenue [in Queens]. They don't see when I couldn't get New York DJs — I lived in New York my whole life — to even play a song. At the end of the day, it's all about hard work. You clearly see that hard work; that's all it takes. If you really want it, direct your energy on positive sh--, and it will happen."
