Kendrick Lamar has to lot to be proud of at the moment. His new good kid, m.A.A.d city album is projected to sell between 225-240K its first week out, which will be good enough to claim the No. 2 spot on Billboard according to early sales projections from HitsDailyDouble.

In most other weeks good kid, m.A.A.d city would top the charts, but it happened to come out the same week as Taylor Swift's monster fourth studio album, Red.

Red is projected to sell between 1.1-1.2 million copies. That number could surpass the 1.124 million sold by the entire Top 10 from the corresponding week last year; for the week ending 10/30/11. It could also push it's way past Lady Gaga's Born This Way 1st week tally of 1.1 million.

Congrats to both Kendrick and Taylor.

Kendrick Lamar's good kid m.A.A.d cityalbum hit store shelves today. In the weeks leading up to it's release K. Dot sat down for a lot of interviews promoting the project.

Here is one with @punablog where he mentions that Dr. Dre pushed his long awaited Detoxalbum back to get Kendrick's out first.

"Detox got pushed to the back just because [of] my album," Kendrick said. "Dre really found an interest in my music. He really wanted me to go forward and push that immediately. And that's a great thing. I've heard the records on Detox, it's insane. Just the opportunity to be on that is a privilege... an honor."

Hopefully Detox will eventually be released at some point.

Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar recently collaborated on a song that was supposed to appear on Kendrick's good kid, m.A.A.d cityalbum. But when the tracklist for the project was revealed fans were surprised to see that it didn't make the cut.

During Kendrick's interview with The Breakfast Club on Thursday he explained why the song titled "Partynausous" wasn't on the album.

"Me and Lady Gaga, we really good friends. She’s not on the album. We got some records, but when I was breaking down the bulk of the album, the ones we picked, we set them aside for future reference," he said. "I already had everything premeditated for this day, for October 22nd."

Lady Gaga also offered an explanation via her website. The pop star said creative differences were ultimately the reason she wouldn't be on the disc.

I apologize to the fans that this situation with Partynausous is confusing. To it clear it up I must explain this. When I collaborate with an artist i work solely with them, not with their camps or management. Its purely organic and creative. I love Kendrick dearly as a friend, but was not willing to compromise musically to the changes his team was making to my music. This is why I am not his record. I have a very specific vision as a producer and songwriter, and I always have. That song will be released at a different time, for a different project. I love you, and think you should check out his stuff because he is truly great. He's a good kid, its just sometimes a mad city. -LG

Are you disappointed "Partynausous" didn't make the cut?
