WJW Channel 8 suspended anchor Kristi Capel for three days after she uttered a racist term on live television while sitting next to her Black co-anchor, Wayne Dawson.
Capel was discussing Lady Gaga's Oscar's performance on Monday, February 23, when she used the word "jigaboo" to describe part of it.
"It's hard to really hear her voice with all the jigaboo music, or whatever you wanna call it...jigaboo," she said while laughing.
Jigaboo definition via Vocabulary.com: (Ethnic slur) extremely offensive name for a Black person. A person with dark skin who comes from Africa (or whose ancestors came from Africa).

Capel would later issue an on-air apology, explaining that she had no idea what the word meant.
"I just want to take a moment to address a comment that I made yesterday that got a lot of attention," Capel said Tuesday. "It's important for me to let you know that I deeply regret my insensitive comment. And I truly did not know the meaning of the word and would never intentionally use such hurtful language."
The Cleveland Fox affiliate also issued a statement.
"Kristi regrets her actions and realizes the impact of her mistake and the hurt she has caused. On Tuesday afternoon, Kristi met with a group of African-American clergy from Northeast Ohio to begin the process of reflecting on the gravity of this incident. In her on-air apology, Kristi vowed to learn from this experience and has begun that process with help from clergy, friends, family and co-workers."
Dawson said he forgave Capel because he knew "her heart" and that she was a "good girl."
"I've been working with you for three years, so I think I know your heart," Dawson told Capel on-air. "And I know you didn't mean it. . . . So my thing is that you learn from it, you move on. It's time to forgive and move on. My prayer is that our viewers forgive and move on because she's a good girl. She really, really is."

Protesters took to the streets on Friday, March 6, after a 19-year old black man was shot five times by police in Madison, Wisconsin.
Cops responded to a call that Tony Robinson had committed battery earlier. When an officer arrived at his apartment he said he heard a disturbance inside. The cop forced his way into the apartment and reportedly got into a struggle with Robinson. During the fight the unidentified officer was reportedly hit in the head. He then drew his weapon and fired.

"In the context of mutual combat in that sense, the officer did draw his revolver and subsequently shot the subject," Madison Police Chief Mike Koval said.
Hours after Anthony Robinson was fatally shot by a Madison police officer, his grandmother, Sharon Irwin (second from the right), and aunt, Lorien Carter (pictured with the megaphone), asked the crowd at Williamson Street to keep demonstrations peaceful.
Police said they did not know if Robinson was armed, but initial indications are that he was not.
The officer on the scene administered CPR immediately after the shooting. Robinson was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
State law mandates that an independent investigation be conducted. MPD froze the scene until the state Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation arrived, according to The Daily Cardinal.
"You're not protecting us, you're killing us!" Robinson's grandmother, Sharon Irwin, shouted at police as the protests continued into early Saturday, according to The New York Daily News.
Protesters chanted "Black Lives Matter" and "Justice!"
Robinson's aunt, Lorien Carter, said the family wasn't allowed to see Robinson's body in the hospital because it was considered "evidence."
"He wasn't referred to as 'his son' or 'your son,' just 'evidence,'" she said.

The latest release from Bethlehem’s very own Tug McRaw, Bacon and Eggs, is something that is just as important as breakfast to those who are fans and lovers of hip hop music. Tug is no stranger to the music scene doing everything from showcase performances, appearing and being featured on different projects, and even being the man behind the camera (that’s another conversation for another day)… he is a man of many talents but there is only one love and that’s music.
The 90’s were a time where hip hop music was fun and it took more than a great beat and a catchy hook to make a name for yourself, this also happens to be the same era that influenced Tug and you can hear that when you take a listen. The beats are nice, but the bars are nicer and that’s something rare to come across these days!

Here's DJ Whoo Kid's highly entertaining interview with NEHipHop.
After sponsoring his show at Goodlife Bar in Boston last Saturday we had the chance to conduct an interview with DJ Whoo Kid that is without question the most honest, blunt in your face conversation we have captured to date.
In it he starts off talking about his events with Diddy and the hilarious "fountain of youth" Diddy has discovered. Next up Whoo Kid tells how he got Young Buck into the G-Unit reunion, how he'd like to get The Game back and announces upcoming solo work with each of the individual members. From there he goes on to explain how important he finds it to be diverse not only with the music he's involved with but also with the guest on his radio show - even going as far as to tell us never before heard trade secrets.
After explaining how he keeps his interviews interesting and gets starts to open up in a different way Whoo Kid tells why hip-hop is full of liars, how hip-hop is an illusion, how lying helped get him to where he is in his career and how he learned from Russell Simmons, Lyor Cohen and Jimmy Iovine. Before checking out Whoo Kid details his use of social media, how world travel taught him the ignorance of monogamy and the nick name Chaka Khan gave him. At 18 minutes this interview flies bad as it's incredibly entertaining. Enjoy!
