2 Chainz looks like he's ready to do business with a major record label after building a buzz for himself independently.

The Atlanta rapper formerly known as Tity Boi, will visit MTV's RapFix Live on Wednesday to make a major announcement.

The "Spend It" rapper was at one time signed to Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace label as part of the group Playaz Circle, along with Dolla Boy. The duo had a major hit in 2007 with "Duffle Bag Boy" which featured Lil Wayne. Now it looks like he's ready to take his solo career to the next level.

"I think I'm gonna come sit on the sofa Wednesday. Me and you got a lot of things we got to talk about face-to-face," 2 Chainz told MTV's Sway. "It should be a good day Wednesday. I'm coming up to New York and have a few finalized meetings also. Might as well let the cat out the bag."

We'll update everyone once the announcement is made.

Machine Gun Kelly saw both good times and bad while in Florida last week for a couple of concerts. He was arrested, then released for disorderly conduct in St. Petersburg, but not before he successfully performed there on Saturday and in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday.

Mikey T The Movie Star caught up with the Cleveland rapper after his rowdy show at Club Revolution in Fort Lauderdale to talk about his Bad Boy Records deal and upcoming single.

"They gave me full creative control," MGK said if his Bad Boy deal. "I have creative control over everything on my project. It's worked out for me well. They let me grind and they don't hand me sh*t. I don't have a csilver spoon with that label, and that's what I asked for. Puff is a big brother to me. I signed for 2 [albums]."

MGK's "Wild Boy" single with Waka Flocka has been making some noise. He's getting ready to follow that up with the release a new single entitled "Rain."

"A song called Rain [is my next single]. I'm really excited about that song. It's a deep song," he said. "It's the opposite of Wild boy. A very revolutionary, rebellion type of message."

Check out the rest of the interview and wild concert footage below.

Cory Gunz is a free man this morning after his father, Peter Gunz, posted his $30,000 bail. The 24-year old posted several messages on Twitter once he was home and expressed remorse for his arrest on a gun charge.

12349185475?profile=original

"Lock My Body, Kan't Trap My Mind," he wrote on the social networking site. "I apologize to all of my Supporters, Friends and Family. Things Happen, No excuses. My only regret is letting ya'll down... Peace."

Corey, born Peter Cory Pankey Jr., was arrested in the Bronx, New York Saturday when plainclothes cops responding to a fight in the area apprehended him when he exited a cab and found a loaded, unregistered Taurus .9mm handgun in his backpack as well as a face mask reports XXL.

"This was a big mistake on my part," Gunz told the New York Daily News after his release. "I didn't have any intentions of harming anyone or committing a criminal activity. So many young people look up to me and I need to fight though this."

New York has notoriously strict gun laws. Lil Wayne, who signed Cory to his Young Money label last year spent 10 months locked up in Rikers Island in 2010 on a gun charge. Prodigy of Mobb Deep was released from prison in March 2011 after serving 3 years on similar charges.

One of the rapper's biggest supporters is Nick Cannon, who executive produced Cory's MTV show "Son of a Gun." Cannon tweeted that he would be there for Cory if needed.

"Great dude, just a little bad luck. @CoryGunz is holding strong and will be out shortly. Family is here if and when anything is needed," Cannon wrote.

Peter Gunz said he believes his son was searched illegally.

"It was definitely an illegal search," Peter said. "He just got out of a cab and police ran up on him and they were in plainclothes. He didn't know they were cops - he thought he was getting robbed."

If convicted, Cory faces a mandatory minimum sentence of three and 1/2 years.

A$AP Rocky might be a newcomer to the rap game, but he's already experienced a lot. From collaborating with Lloyd Banks to touring with Drake and signing multi million dollar deal with RCA/Polo Grounds. The 23-year old Harlem rapper has seen a lot of positive things as a result of his rap career. He's also had some shade thrown his way by Hodgy Beats of Odd Future. Joe La Puma of Complex caught up with Pretty Flacko to get his thoughts on these subjects. Check out an excerpt from their interview with him below.

Drake brought you out during Fashion’s Night Out. Did you ever entertain a deal from him?

He never even tried. He never brought it up. That’s why I give that guy so much credit. It’s like he just really wants the world to know, “Yo this guy is really great. He inspired me.” I appreciate that dude.

We talk about it all the time. Like, yo he doesn’t have to do none of that. The fact that he goes out of his way to show how serious and sincere he is about how he feels about me is amazing.

Guys in that kind of position, they’re usually cocky. They don’t want to admit that they still like certain other shit. It’s like, “Oh, I’m the sh*t. That’s all that matters.” He could just be like, “Shout out to A$AP Rocky,” that’s it. When someone asks him about me, he says why he likes me, what he likes about me, and I just appreciate that dude man. He’s another great guy. Shout out to OVO.

Do you think label execs may have thrown more money at you, because of the Drake co-sign?

Hell no. I was with my partner, Bryan Leach, and we’re the new sh*t. I was with him before this Drake sh*t. It’s just that RCA/Polo Grounds saw something in me that they were confident. I feel like all labels were confident in me but these guys were really about their business and they wanted to make it happen.

Me and Bryan come from the same place. Everybody around me comes from the same place because they can relate to me. I can’t really deal with people who can’t relate. There’s certain sh*t...Harlem is the only place in the world that is a world within itself. Honestly, I mean that.

When someone says, “Harlem World,” it means something. Harlem World is really a world. We live on our own time. We have our own morals, our own culture. What’s going on right now is I’m kind of changing Harlem culture in a good way, in my opinion. And he seen it, and we’ve been partners ever since. So this is before the Drake thing.

That’s just a blessing. Everything that happens is just a blessing. Our mission, we were going to do what we had to do regardless of who came in the picture, but Drake did what he did, and I just appreciate that sh*t.

How is the tour with him?

It’s a big learning experience. I’m having so much fun. I haven’t had this much fun since my fourth birthday party. [Laugh.] It’s amazing. Honestly, I have people around me that care, really love me. I feel the love.

That’s great. Who had more groupies on the tour, you or Drake?

Drake.

Really?

Yeah. I’m not going to lie. [Laugh.] Let’s keep it real.

Is it as crazy as people say?

Yeah, for me too. But it’s more crazy for him. [Laugh.]

Has there been any mentorship taking place from Drake on this tour?

It was more like friendship. He doesn’t know that when he’s on, I’m on the side of the stage just watching his performance, like studying. [Laugh.] And he’s just having fun. He does the same with me.

Like, what he does is like, “Yo, so I’ve got to be in my dressing room, but I’m going to be in the crowd, like all the way in the back, and I’m going to watch you.” I’m like, “Alright, cool.” We just chill.

Before meeting Drake, I was just like a regular average person. So I know what average people say about him. He doesn’t hear it of course because I don’t hear what average people say about me.

People come back to me and say, “Yo, they’re hating,” or “Yo, they’re loving you,” but he doesn’t really know what goes on. So people have bad sh*t to say about him but I can guarantee if anybody meets that guy they’re going to love that guy. He’s just really a great guy.

What’s the biggest thing you’ve learned from him?

Humbleness and sincerity. He has more money than me. He has more bitches than me. He has more fame than me. And he’s more humble than I am.

We talked about the Hodgy Beats thing and you got interviewed a shitload about it.

Yeah.

Have you spoken to them yet?

No.

12349183477?profile=original

And has there been any reaching out from his side?

No.

Is the question getting annoying for you?

It’s really irrelevant. Fu*k annoying, it’s irrelevant. Put that in there. Quote: “F*ck annoying, it’s irrelevant.”

What do you see as the biggest difference between your two crews?

East Coast, West Coast. Lifestyle. Culture. Not culture, but just day-to-day, everyday sh*t. It’s really f*cked up because I know that they don’t like us. A lot of my crew members don’t like them n*ggas, but I like them n*ggas. I’m being honest. I like them.

Why don’t you think they like you?

Nah. I know they don’t like us.

How do you know that?

Because Hodgy went out his way to show that he doesn’t like us. He doesn’t have to like us. That’s fine with me.

Do you think they feel threatened by you guys?

I don’t know what it is. They shouldn’t because we’re not coming for their necks or nothing like that. Personally, like I said, I want to work with Tyler, The Creator.

12349183285?profile=original

How big do you think that could be?

I mean, I don’t really want to speak on it because it’s going to be corny. Like, if we work together, we work together. If we don’t, we don’t.

You’re featured on the Lloyd Banks song...

Killed it.

Yeah, how did...

Lloyd Banks is a great friend. Killed it. Body bag, zip it up. Take them to the morgue.

12349184068?profile=original

What other New York rappers are you feeling?

Lloyd Banks. Shout out to Jim, shout out to Jay-Z, shout out to Maino, Max B... Can you please put these shout outs in there if you’re going to ask the question? If you’re going to show the question? Shout out to Max B. Shout out to everybody doing it in New York.

Cory Gunz is in police custody today after being arrested for possession of a loaded firearm. MTV is reporting that the 24-year old rapper was arrested around 2PM Saturday (January 28) in the Bronx.

Gunz was originally taken to the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx, then later transferred to Central Booking.

"It was definitely an illegal search," his father Peter Gunz told MTV. "I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I'm hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should 'look out.' According to [the officer], they didn't know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around."

New York has notoriously strict gun laws. Lil Wayne, who signed Cory to his Young Money label last year spent 242 days locked up in Rikers Island on a gun charge. Prodigy of Mobb Deep was released from prison in March 2011 after serving 3 years on similar charges.

Even though this is Cory's first offense his father is worried about what kind of punishment his son will face.

"To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it's heartbreaking. Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it's very hard. He's walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through," Peter said to MTV. "This is Cory's first offense, but sometimes they like to make an example out of rappers and people with any kind of celebrity to them."

With the big game just two days away the time has come for fans to make their picks on who they think will win Super Bowl 46.

The New York Giants (12-7) are led by quarterback Eli Manning, who threw for 4933 yards and 29 touchdowns this season with 16 interceptions.

The New England Patriots (15-3) are led by quarterback Tom Brady. Brady threw for 5235 yards and 39 touchdowns with 12 interceptions.

12349175069?profile=original

The Patriots defense has allowed 21.4 points per game, forced 34 turnovers while sacking the opposition's quarterback 40 times.

On The flip side, the Giants defense has given up 25 points per game, forced 31 turnovers and gotten to the other team's quarterback 48 times.

12349175852?profile=original

Both teams have potent offenses, but the edge would have to go to the Patriots in that department. They have higher per game averages in every statistical category on that side of the ball.

12349175871?profile=original

In the coaching department both teams are more than solid. A slight edge goes to the Patriots. Bill Belichick has coached the Patriots to five previous Super Bowls in his 12 years as head coach, coming away with three rings.

Tom Coughlin of the Giants has led them to only one previous Super Bowl in his eight years as head coach for the team, but it was an epic win over the Patriots in Super Bowl 42. The underdog Giants beat the Patriots 17-14 to prevent the Pats from going undefeated that season.

12349176094?profile=original

All the talking is almost done now. Both teams are making their final preparations for the game that will be played on Sunday, February 5 at 6:20 PM ET. It will air live on NBC.

The Patriots are 3-point betting favorites in Las Vegas.

So who is your pick to win the big game this year? Take our poll and sound off in the comment section below.

Frank Ocean - Voodoo

12349179261?profile=original

Odd Future's Frank Ocean released this new track "Voodoo" via his Tumblr page as a gift to his fans while they wait for his debut album which is due to drop later this year.

Franks also did fans a favor by including the lyrics. Check them out below.

darker times

they’re telling boulder heavy lies

looks like all we’ve got is each other

the truth is obsolete

remember when all i had was my mother

she didn’t compromise

she could recognize

voodoo

our daughters and our sons

are just candles in the sun

voodoo

don’t let him see divide

don’t you let her see divide

voodoo

she’s got the whole wide world in her juicy fruit

he’s got the whole wide world in his pants

he wrapped the whole wide world in a wedding band

then put the whole wide world on her hands

she’s got the whole wide world in her hands

he’s got the whole wide world in his hands.

A blogger has done a lot of researching and believes he's solved the mystery of the date Ice Cube rapped about in his song "It Was A Good Day."

Donovan Strain of the Murk Avenue blog used six clues that centered around the song's lyrics to come up with his conclusion.

From the lyrics, “went to short dogs house, they was watching Yo MTV RAPS” Strain knew it had to be between "Yo MTV Raps" first air date of August 6, 1988 and the release date of "Good Day" as a single on February 23, 1993.

Ice Cube mentions the Los Angeles Lakers beating the Seattle Super Sonics in the song and the day being without smog. Strain found 12 dates between August 6, 1988 and February 23, 1993 where the Lakers beat the Sonics. He then narrowed those down to four days that didn't have smog.

Got a beep from Kim, and she can f*ck all night," Cube rapped.

Beepers weren't available to the public until the 90's, leaving Strain with two possible dates, either January 18, 1991 or January 20, 1992. After finding out that Cube was busy filming the movie "Boyz in the Hood" from the middle of 1990 to early 1991, Strain found the date.

The ONLY day where:
Yo MTV Raps was on air
It was a clear and smogless day
Beepers were commercially sold
Lakers beat the SuperSonics
and Ice Cube had no events to attend was…

          JANUARY 20 1992

So there it is.
