Video After The Jump The video shoot for Dr Dre's "Kush" video just went down in Los Angeles. A lot of Cali love was on deck, as Roccett, E-40, Glasses Malone and more showed up for the shoot. West Coast rapper Rockett says he has a newfound respect for G-Unit boss 50 Cent. As Roccett tells it, 50 rolled up on a group of crips, showing no fear and asked for directions to the video shoot. "I don't know what issues certain n*ggas got with other n*ggas, I don't get into all that," Rockett said. "But I know right now [at that moment], I'm on the corner with the crips straight up. I don't know 50... 50 don't know me. The n*gga drive by us, we don't know who he is, so we looking at the car like 'who cuz?' He pull off [and] u-turn back and pull up like 'where the video shoot?' We like 'cuz this n*gga gonna double back?'. I got respect for cuz period [after that]. The way he did that, most rap n*ggas wouldn't have doubled back. Most rap n*ggas would have been like 'is that 15-20 n*ggas on the corner? I aint turning around.' " Roccetts' homie chimed in. "He doubled back with his head out of the car [sunroof]. Most n*ggs wouldn't have done that. We respect him for that." 50 once again proves he really is the realest dude in the game. twitter-5d.gif

David Banner & Prod.Deezle sue “The Carter Documentary” maker, QD3.

The latest lawsuit filed in connection to Lil Wayne, comes from none other than David Banner. The Mississippi MC/producer is suing the maker of the infamous “The Carter” documentary, Quincy Jones III better known as QD3. According to Courthouse News, Banner, real name Lavell Crump, producer Darius “Deezle” Harrison and The Royalty Network Inc. filed a lawsuit in New York Southern District Court Thursday claiming copyright infringement against Jones. CN reports that in the lawsuit, QD3 used two of Banner’s songs in the documentary without his permission; “La La” from Tha Carter III and “Pussy Monster”, a track added to Tha Carter III after “Playing With Fire” was removed due to previous litgation. Courthouse News also reports that named in the lawsuit is Virgil Films and Entertainment, LLC, the distribution company for the documentary. As previously reported Wayne tried to block the release of the documentary claiming that it was “scandalous” for showing his rampant drug use. That request was denied however by an L.A. superior court judge and QD3 was allowed to release it.

Lil Wayne Scan & Quote From Ozone Magazine.

“Pistol on my neck, you don’t wanna hear that thing talk!”

Check out a new photo of Lil Wayne from the latest issue of Ozone Magazine, which is in stores now! You can also read what he tells Ozone in their sex issue about why he is a great Father to his kids:

“I’m not on child support with none of my kids cause I’m a great father. So it’s not determined by how much money you’re paying at all. That’s not what it’s about. It’s about being there and being that important person in their lives. It’s about being #1 or #2 in their life. That’s very important for your child, to make sure you’re that #1 or #2. Because if you’re not, you know what #1 or #2 could end up being. That’s the most important thing of all. I just try to make sure I’m of the highest importance in their lives, next to their moms.” Ozone

Lil Wayne & Producers get sued for Tha Carter III single, “Lollipop”again.

Young Money CEO, Lil Wayne has been slapped with yet another lawsuit surrounding his 2008 hit Hip Hop music single “Lollipop“. Philadelphia rapper Dirahn Gilliams filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Friday April 30th for Work ID: 371875615 which is listed with ASCAP. Gilliams is claiming that the song “Lollipop” was based on his 2007 song “Grindin’ Like a Goon”. Lil Wayne, producer Darius “Deezle” Harrison, James “Jim Jonsin” Scheffer, Rex Zamor, Cash Money, Young Money and Universal have all been named in the lawsuit. In April 2007, Gilliams sent out a copy of his song to Flo Rida, Brisco, executive Kevon Glickmon, and producers Deezle and Jim Jonsin claiming Young Money received the copy from one of these entities though Flo Rida and Glickman were not mentioned in the lawsuit. Gilliams is accusing Wayne and Jim Jonsin for illegally using portions of his song for “Lollipop” in 2008. Jonsin and Deezle are both suing Lil Wayne as well, making the situation more complicated. Gilliams is seeking to prevent further sales of Tha Carter III and “Lollipop“, not counting monetary damages, lost profits, actual damages, restitution and compensatory and punitive damages that he is suing for.

With the close of the decade here, there is no shortage of “best of” lists reviewing top achievements throughout the pop culture landscape. But when it comes to most noteworthy music of the ‘00’s, one album that has been showing up on just about everyone’s list is 50 Cent’s 2003 debut Get Rich Or Die Tryin’. The seminal release, which has to date sold over 12 million copies worldwide, transformed the troubled Curtis Jackson, a former Queens, New York drug dealer and local mixtape favorite, into one of the biggest musical acts on the planet. Propelled by the hypnotic Dr. Dre-produced anthem “In da Club” and the backing of hip-hop’s paramount seller Eminem (50 was the first artist signed to Em’s Shady Records, which released the project jointly with Dre’s Aftermath Records), Get Rich represented more than just a commercial triumph. It was a cultural landmark that gave East Coast street rap a fresh platform, opening up a new world for the unlikely entertainment mogul. Looking back on the album, 50 Cent has a more personal attachment to Get Rich or Die Tryin’. “With Get Rich I had so much to prove on that album,” recalls the rapper who dropped his fourth studio album, Before I Self Destruct, in November. “Everything had to be perfect in my head. I wanted to make sure that everything I said captured my true feelings at that time. I just felt like it was God’s plan to be where I was at. My mind frame at that point was the music. Anything that would have come in my way at that point I would have removed it the best way I know how. The ‘hood teaches you to do it in a way that’s not sensible.” One of the aspects that made critics take note of 50 Cent was his surprising vulnerability, a trait that you would not normally associate with a combative, controversial artist who has been involved in high profile verbal sparring with everyone from Ja Rule, Jadakiss, and Game to Kanye West, Rick Ross, and most recently, Jay-Z. But 50 insist he was just keeping it real. “A lot of rappers don’t write about their fears or point out where they didn’t get the best of a situation,” he says. “So the first time I experimented with it was with songs like ‘Many Men.’ I’m telling folks that there is blood in my eyes and I can’t see. I’m hurt at that point. I’m vulnerable.” Yet, after Get Rich, 50 Cent’s life would never be the same as his success spun off a multi-million dollar label (G-Unit Records); a successful G-Unit clothing line; a major film (2005’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’); and a stable of platinum acts (a crew that included Game, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck). But even as the commercial muscle has dramatically declined for 50 Cent, the spitter insists that he is still the same hungry kid who made the music world take notice. “That’s what people want from me…. to give them the real shit,” he says. “That’s a part of me. It’s necessary to have aggression to survive but that’s not all of me. There’s so much more.” Source: Vibe.com Follow Me @Twitter.com/ChasinMoPaper

The Inqisitr Reports An Italian man currently under house arrest has requested to spend the rest of his sentence in jail, to get away from his nagging wife. 30 year old Santo Gambino, who was charged and convicted for dumping hazardous waste, spend part of his sentence in prison, but was transferred to his home near Palermo, Sicily to serve the rest of his sentence. Gambino, a construction worker who spent much of time working, was not accustomed to spending so much of his time at home with his wife. The couple had argued often and his wife constantly blamed him since his inability to work due to the house arrest caused financial problems for the family. So against the conditions of his house arrest, Gambino left the house and went straight to the police station, demanding to be arrested and put back in jail. Police did charge him for violating the conditions of his house arrest sentence, but instead of jailing him, they sent him back home to make peace with his wife.
