Rudy Giuliani, the former Mayor of New York City forgot all about 9/11 while giving a speech on Monday, August 15.

"Under those eight years, before Obama came along, we didn't have any successful radical Islamic terrorist attack in the United States. They all started when Clinton and Obama got into office," Giuliani said.

That was more than enough for Charlamagne Tha God to give Rudy "Donkey of the Day" for Tuesday, August 16.

Video After The Jump

Rapper Fame of M.O.P. sat down for a recent interview with VladTV, where he spoke about his 80 pound weight loss, growing up in Brownsville, Brooklyn in the 1980s and 90s, and much more.

During the conversation Fame addressed the struggles he went through while growing up in Brooklyn, including not having enough food, no heating in the winter, and no hot water. He also briefly touched on the grief he went through of watching friends and his own brother die in the streets, but Fame cut things short as he explained that he doesn't like to focus on tragedies.

Hit the clip below to hear more of what he had to say, including why he chooses DJ Premier over Dr. Dre as his all-time best producer, and new projects he's working on.

Lawrence Phillips is dead after reportedly killing himself inside his cell at Kern Valley State Prison in California. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of his death.

According to a press release by the facility, Phillips, 40, was found unresponsive in his cell at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday morning, January 13.

The former Nebraska Cornhusker, who played four years in the NFL, had been locked in segregation since being suspected of killing his cellmate Damion Soward on April 11, 2015.

In September he was formally charged with first-degree murder.

Lawrence Phillips

Phillips was an extremely gifted athlete, but couldn't stay out of trouble off the field.

Despite being accused of dragging an ex-girlfriend by her hair down a flight of stairs while at Nebraska, he was drafted with the sixth overall pick in the 1996 NFL draft by the St. Louis Rams. He played two years for them before being released for insubordination in 1997.

His last two years in the league were spent with the Miami Dolphins and the San Francisco 49ers.

He'd been in prison since 2005, and was currently serving a 31-year sentence for choking his ex-girlfriend twice in San Diego and driving a car into a group of teens, injuring three, after getting angry that his team was losing a pickup football game in Los Angeles.

Aye!!!

Atlanta rapper and 32 Entertainment leader, OJ Da Juiceman, recently chopped it up with DJ Smallz. He talked about the type of student he was in school, getting fired from his one and only job at McDonald's for stealing out of the cash register, getting shot 8 times and offered a message to the youth.

"Stay in school, stay positive, stay focused," OJ said. "Never let no one tell you, you can't 'cause you can. 'Cause one there is a way you will make it. No one can tell you, you can't no matter how hard it might be. Just stay focused. Stay true to what you do and stay true to yourself."

Video After The Jump

Mendeecees Harris was sentenced to eight years in a federal penitentiary on Tuesday, December 1, for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy that shipped large amounts of heroin and cocaine from downstate New York to Rochester, from 2005 until August 2012.

Harris pleaded guilty in April.

He could have been sentenced to as much as 20 years if he had chosen to go to trial and gotten convicted. Harris will get credit for 15 months already served. The Democrat and Chronicle reports that with good behavior and changes to drug sentencing guidelines he could be a free man in five or six years.

U.S. District Judge Frank Geraci Jr. said that Harris, his brother and one other man shipped two to five kilograms of cocaine monthly, plus up to seven kilograms of heroin.

Authorities brought an end to the drug ring when they raided two New York City homes in August 2012. $615,000 in cash was found in the homes. Another $911,000 was found in safety deposit boxes connected to the drug ring, according to the Democrat and Chronicle.

The 36-year old star of Love and Hip Hop: New York issued a statement via his Instagram account after sentencing.

"I want you all to understand something. I completely accept responsibility for all that is going on," he wrote. "My transition to be a better person a productive person started well before this case. However in my past I made some bad decisions. Young men let my life be an example to you now before it's too late. Better who you are now in your children's lives and in society so you can change the path of your fate. Lack of opportunities, a fatherless home, the unforgiven neighborhood and circumstances you grew up in can no longer be your excuse. Trust me I tried. And it doesn't make the pain your family feels any different. Young man educate your self and break the cycle. Don't become a number on the DOA (dead on arrival) list or on the incarceration list. To my wife and children you are all strong and well prepared for this. This is just another brick laid down towards our house of happily ever after , walk with your head held high knowing I would never past the buck and put another family through what we have endured. Continue to walk in faith and love as you've done so well. To my peoples thank you for all the encouragement and support please continue to encourage my family. Thank you again all."

12351870083?profile=original

Harris' wife, Yandy Smith, was in court with the couple's 10-month old baby. While understandably upset that her husband would be in prison for so long, she said the sentencing "brought closure."

"Now we have a definitive number (with the sentence) and we can move forward," she said outside of a Federal Building in Rochester. "I know there is an end."

12351870270?profile=original

Harris has already paid the federal government $170,000 of his earnings from LHH and public appearances, as part of an agreement.

Video And Pics After The Jump

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A white man opened fire during a prayer meeting inside a historic black church in downtown Charleston on Wednesday night, killing nine people, including the pastor, in an assault that authorities described as a hate crime.

The shooter remained at large Thursday morning and police released photographs from surveillance video of a suspect and a possible getaway vehicle.

Police Chief Greg Mullen said he could not offer a make and model on the dark colored sedan because investigators were not certain about what is shown in the video.

Mullen said he believed the attack at the Emanuel AME Church was a hate crime. The suspect was described as a white man in his early 20s.

12351598687?profile=original

"This is a very dangerous individual," Mullen said during a 6 a.m. news conference.

"We want to identify this individual and arrest him before he hurts anyone else," the chief said.

460x.jpg

Mullen said the scene at the church was chaotic when police arrived, and the officers thought they had the suspect tracked with a police dog, but he got away.

"We will put all effort, we will put all resources and we will put all of our energy into finding this individual who committed this crime tonight," he said.

The FBI will aid the investigation, Mullen told a news conference that was attended by FBI Special Agent in Charge David A. Thomas.

460x.jpg

Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley called the shooting "the most unspeakable and heartbreaking tragedy."

"The only reason that someone could walk into a church and shoot people praying is out of hate," Riley said. "It is the most dastardly act that one could possibly imagine, and we will bring that person to justice. ... This is one hateful person."

460x.jpg

State House Minority leader Todd Rutherford told The Associated Press that the church's pastor, state Sen. Clementa Pinckney, was among those killed.

12351599658?profile=original

Sen. Clementa Pinckney

Pinckney 41, was a married father of two who was elected to the state house at age 23, making him the youngest member of the House at the time.

"He never had anything bad to say about anybody, even when I thought he should," Rutherford, D-Columbia, said. "He was always out doing work either for his parishioners or his constituents. He touched everybody."

The attack came two months after the fatal shooting of an unarmed black man, Walter Scott, by a white police officer in neighboring North Charleston that sparked major protests and highlighted racial tensions in the area. The officer has been charged with murder, and the shooting prompted South Carolina lawmakers to push through a bill helping all police agencies in the state get body cameras. Pinckney was a sponsor of that bill.

In a statement, Gov. Nikki Haley asked South Carolinians to pray for the victims and their families and decried violence at religious institutions.

"We'll never understand what motivates anyone to enter one of our places of worship and take the life of another," Haley said.

Soon after Wednesday night's shooting, a group of pastors huddled together praying in a circle across the street.

Community organizer Christopher Cason said he felt certain the shootings were racially motivated.

460x.jpg

"I am very tired of people telling me that I don't have the right to be angry," Cason said. "I am very angry right now."

Even before Scott's shooting in April, Cason said he had been part of a group meeting with police and local leaders to try to shore up relations.

The Emmanuel AME church is a historic African-American church that traces its roots to 1816, when several churches split from Charleston's Methodist Episcopal church.

One of its founders, Denmark Vesey, tried to organize a slave revolt in 1822. He was caught, and white landowners had his church burned in revenge. Parishioners worshipped underground until after the Civil War.

Video After The Jump

Welp, that didn't last long.

After only eight months of dating former super couple Big Sean and Ariana Grande have called it quits.

“They both deeply care for each other and remain close friends,” their reps told Us Weekly in a joint statement. “We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time. They made the decision to part ways because their conflicting touring schedules would keep them apart over the next year."

The report comes just a couple of weeks after Ariana's flirtatious performance with Justin Bieber on April 8, at the Forum in Los Angeles. Sean was said to be upset, but denied the rumors.

In episode eight of Noisey Atlanta, we examine just how quickly the ups and downs can happen in the trap world. In short, the scene moves fast. To start things off, we meet Bankroll Fresh at a barbershop and talk about the rise of his late summer 2014 hit “Hot Boy.” Then we find ourselves in the studio with the elusive Young Thug before linking with Rich Homie Quan, who tells stories of getting out of jail and eventually forming Rich Gang with Birdman and Thugger (fun fact: RHQ and Young Thug apparently went to middle school together). Later, we catch up with Trinidad Jame$ over a year after the explosion of “All Gold Everything,” showing what can possibly happen to a hyped up rapper after the machine spits ‘em out.

Willow Smith @OfficialWillow - 8

12350978865?profile=original

Willow Smith contribute's a new song to Kitty Cash's forthcoming Love the Free Vol. II mixtape. Willow named the new song "8" because she she tells MTV, she's into numerology.

“I’ve been really into numerology lately because a lot of numbers have been following me and my friends,” Willow said. “I’ve been coming into this new phase in my life, just becoming one with all that is, going deeper into myself and getting to the goal of my music, which is to share that feeling and pass on knowledge so that consciousness can be raised on this planet."

Love the Free Vol. II, drops on July 29th.

FIGA 8 RELEASES THE GAME FACE MIXTAPE AND ANNOUNCES WTFSTS ALBUM

Inland Empire, CA – Imperial Hustle Entertainment features local artist, Figa 8, of the Inland Empire. While IHE is based out of San Diego County, Figa 8 is well-known in the hip-hop scene surrounding the Inland Empire and San Diego. CEO Defiance of IHE proudly introduces the artist beyond the spectrum of the Inland Empire to showcase the release of his mixtape Game Face to hold fans over for his upcoming album entitled Winter Time Flame Summer Time Snow. The #1 urban resource guide of the San Diego area, IHE primary goal is to help local artist reach their creative potential through talent marketing, networking and featured articles. Figa 8 is the featured artist in the digital release of the April issue, Volume 9, Issue 2.

Although it may seem he is up and coming, Figa 8 has well established roots in the hip-hop scene releasing two previously recorded albums entitled The Good the Bad and the Inbetween and All Business Know Pleasure. Like his other albums, fans should expect a mainstream sound that embodies depth of soul and perspective of who he is as an artist. Figa 8 prides himself on being a storyteller, one that connects to all walks of life and that is relevant to the times.

Lead artist of Grand Fam Entertainment where Figa 8 released Year of the Punchline produced by Ted Rizkalla, Figa 8 is also a part of the DIG record family where he hopes to introduce a new type of sound to the hip hop industry that is both innovative and retro. With a name like Figa 8, which means constant evolution, he hopes his fans can connect through his compelling lyricism. Winter Time Flame Sumer Time Snow produced alongside Drew Infinite will delight old and new fans as they journey through Figa 8’s evolutionary hip-hop modernism. Fans will also be delighted to hear a separate solo project releasing later in 2014 entitled Aint Said Shhhhhh#*.
