The world of hip-hop is nothing short of a gladiator arena. Most artists are like meteors; they shine bright and then quickly fade away into oblivion. In such a world of one-hit wonders, it is no less than a surprise that Kilo M.O.E. has thrived in the industry for decades.
Like most music artists, Kilo M.O.E. also knew since childhood that he has a passion for music. As a kid, he remembers beating tables, using TV like a microphone, and singing along with his siblings. The 1980s was a time when music underwent a paradigm shift. The artist also spent some years in Munich, Germany where he was exposed to DJ’ing and mixtapes. After returning to the USA in the late 80s, he spent some time on the streets, picking both the style and the music sense from them.
The story of how he picked the name “Kilo M.O.E” is also an interesting one. In the 90s, his attire involved a heavy gold chain with a medallion saying “Kilo”. The term “kilo” referred to a kilogram of coke, which was considered a fortune back then. While he evolved over the years, the name “Kilo” stuck with him. However, he now thinks that the word represents weight and balance for him. In the two decades in the industry, he has released six mixtapes, two music videos and four studio albums.
But the reason why Kilo M.O.E. has survived for so long is his ability to look ahead of the curve. Even during his early days as an artist, he was simultaneously thinking about becoming an entrepreneur. During an interview, he recalled an incident in 2006 when he bumped into a person who was glued to his phone, watching YouTube. That’s when he realized that digital content was the future. After years of struggle, he finally managed to establish On MY Grizzly (OMG) Entertainment in 2012. Kilo M.O.E. believes that the real reason why so many artists get exploited is that instead of solving the existing problem, they become a part of it. OMG Entertainment was created to give a platform to indie artists. It is not simply a distributor or a music label. The company serves as a platform where artists can find an audience for their music and generate revenues directly.
The artist has recently come up with his project “Fly G’z and Palm Treez”. The album, which contains 11 songs, is already gaining traction among the lovers of hip-hop. For Kilo M.O.E., the inspiration for the album can largely from his years in Florida. The five years he spent in Florida were rocky, where he struggled with drugs, infidelity, wastage of money and the disappointment of losing direction in life. So, when he bounced back, he decided to put that experience into words and chords.
He also recently released a song titled ‘Watch What Ya Say’ in collaboration with Hecdakid. He also collaborated on a new project with Alan Dubz, DJ Greenguy and Dank Synatra. Titled ‘Give a Dogg a Bone’, the song is now streaming on Spotify.
The global COVID-19 pandemic turned the whole world upside down. But Kilo M.O.E. recognized the huge impact it would have on the music industry. The artist has been a long-time advocate for digital content, going as far back as 2001. But the music industry, on the other hand, was rather reluctant to democratize the creation and consumption of music. The COVID-19 pandemic finally forced them to change their ways. Forget singles and albums, whole concerts were moved online and saw a massive response. Kilo M.O.E. personally was also affected by the pandemic. Two of his albums in works were delayed and their marketing put to a halt. He had launched a digital radio station called Weonradio/Weonnation just weeks before the pandemic hit. While the radio station saw great response during the lockdown, his plans to expand it were abrupted.
The year 2021 seems full of promise to the veteran artist. His company OMG Entertainment has been meeting its sales goals excellently so far, and he hopes to hit all targets before this quarter gets over. He is also collaborating with other corporate networks. Now that the pandemic has started to subside, he wants to expand his digital radio stations to other places. Nettabear Custom, a fashion company he founded with his wife, is also expected to expand this year. The fashion company deals with high-end, couture fashion of exclusive clients. He also has his eyes on building an audio/video facility in western Tennessee in the coming months. Lastly, he has not forgotten his love for music and will launch his new project this year.

SEBRING, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida high school teacher is facing charges after she allegedly had an on-going sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy.
30-year-old Ariel Reed, a critical thinking teacher at Sebring High School, is facing 10 counts of sexual battery after she was arrested on February 12, according to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
Reed was hired in 2014 and had been teaching critical thinking since 2019, according to the Highland County School Board.
The 15-year-old told detectives they started to have sexual encounters during Christmas break after Reed was driving the boy to and from school, WFLA reports.
The high school boy said the two met at Reed’s home, car, and even in the closet of her classroom during the relationship.
Reed, reportedly, told the boy not to tell anyone or her kids would get taken away.
A student reported the incident after seeing nude pictures of Reed on the 15-year-old’s phone, WFLA reports.
Reed’s husband, 37-year-old Jonathan Patrick Reed, was also arrested Friday for interference with the execution of a search warrant.
“He slammed the door on their face when they were trying to come in. And then he was just very uncooperative throughout the entire thing. That was just the start of it,” Dressel said.
Jonathan Reed is out on bond. Ariel Reed remains in jail as of Monday afternoon.

KIGALI, Rwanda (AP) — The terrorism trial of Paul Rusesabagina, the man who inspired the film “Hotel Rwanda” began on Wednesday with his argument that a Rwandan court cannot try him because he is no longer a citizen & his assertion that he was kidnapped & is being held hostage.
His family says the 66-year-old Rusesabagina, praised for saving ethnic Tutsis during Rwanda’s 1994 genocide & awarded the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom, has no chance at a fair trial because of his outspoken criticism of longtime Rwandan President Paul Kagame & human rights abuses. They also fear he might die from poor health behind bars.
The circumstances around Rusesabagina’s arrest, his limited access to an independent legal team & his reported worsening health have drawn international concern for the Belgian citizen & U.S. resident who left Rwanda in 1996.
The judge on Wednesday said the court will consider Rusesabagina’s argument that it has no jurisdiction to try a non-citizen & announce its decision when the trial resumes on Feb. 26.
Rwanda’s government has said Rusesabagina will receive a fair trial. He faces 9 charges including the formation of an irregular armed group; membership in a terrorist group; financing terrorism; & murder, abduction & armed robbery as an act of terrorism. If convicted, he could face more than 20 years in prison.
“Let me say for the fifth time that I am Belgian & not Rwandan,” Rusesabagina told the court. “I was kidnapped & brought to Rwanda & I am being held here hostage. Kidnap itself is a crime.” Rusesabagina in the past has denied funding rebel groups.
Rusesabagina is credited with saving more than 1,000 people by sheltering them at the hotel he managed during the genocide in which more than 800,000 Tutsi & Hutus who tried to protect them were killed. Rwanda’s government has long asserted that Rusesabagina’s role in the genocide was exaggerated.

Boosie Badazz has weighed in on the romance between Lori Harvey & actor Michael B. Jordan.
In a new interview with VladTV, the Baton Rouge rapper was asked about the Black Panther star being Harvey’s latest conquest. The model & step-daughter to Steve Harvey previously dated Diddy, Future & she was engaged to Dutch professional soccer player Memphis Depay.
When asked about Harvey’s body count, Boosie responded, “I think we need to stop giving the woman the power with situations like this. Girls keep saying it’s ‘goals.’” He continued, “We gotta start giving the bachelors, the men, who running through women like this, the credit.”
He went on saying, “Last time I went to Diddy house, him & Bu was together, they dawgs! We gotta start giving them the credit instead of Lori.”
Vlad then noted, “To be fair, most of the guys we talking about have been through a bunch of bad chicks already. Ex-NFL star Vincent Jackson "suffered from chronic alcoholism" -- & it appears to have been a factor in his death, this according to law enforcement.
Sheriff Chad Chronister of the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office in Florida revealed the findings from Jackson's autopsy Wednesday on the "MJ Morning Show" saying -- "We got the autopsy report that will be released today showed, unfortunately, he suffered from chronic alcoholism. Just tragic!"
Sheriff Chronister says officials are still waiting on the toxicology report to come back before they can issue an official cause of death -- but he notes Jackson had "long-standing health conditions that contributed to his passing because of some alcohol abuse."
The 38-year-old NFL wide receiver was discovered Monday by a housekeeper at the Homewood Suites hotel in Brandon, Florida, where he had been living since January.
The whole situation was bizarre considering Jackson made more than $70 million in his NFL career & was widely loved in the community by family, friends & law enforcement.
So, why was he at that hotel alone? Sheriff Chronister has a theory ...
"Well this is true speculation but what the family is telling me is that he suffered from CTE. They believe he had a lot of concussion problems & when you suffer from that, you're not yourself."
Sheriff Chronister continued, "[The family believes] wholeheartedly all of these actions are the result of what he suffered while he was playing in the NFL."
Jackson spent 12 years in the pros -- making 3 Pro Bowls during his time with the San Diego Chargers & the Tampa Bay Bucs. He formally retired in 2018 but last played in 2016.
Sheriff Chronister noted how involved Jackson was in the community.
"He would never say no! He's the person you would call 'Hey I have something we wanna do for a child in need, a family in need, a military member in need' & he was always there. I don't know how he balanced his schedule."

The alleged hit-and-run driver who killed Nicki Minaj’s father in Long Island turned himself in to law enforcement Wednesday morning, sources told The Post.
Robert Maraj, 64, was walking in Mineola on Friday when he was struck around 6 p.m. The driver fled the scene, according to Nassau County Police.
“The “Super Bass” singer’s father was rushed to a local hospital and listed in critical condition — then succumbed to his injuries at some point over the weekend, police said.
The rap superstar — who was raised in Queens — had a fraught relationship with her father.
Police are scheduled to hold a press conference on the arrest later Wednesday.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WCNC) — According to officials, a 12-year-old boy shot and killed a home intruder in self-defense after two armed suspects broke into a Goldsboro home and shot a 73-year-old woman.
Officials said two masked subjects forced their way into the 73-year-old Linda Ellis' residence, demanding money. At least one of the suspects, identified as 19-year-old Khalil Herring, was armed – and allegedly shot Ellis.
"A 12-year-old juvenile occupant of the residence shot at the suspects with a firearm in self-defense, causing them to flee the area," wrote officials in a statement.
Police discovered Ellis in her apartment with a gunshot wound. She has been treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
