Troy Ave has been at the forefront of helping to bring the classic feel back to the New York rap scene. His recent New York City album and White Christmas 2 mixtape are full of heaters from track one until the last song.
He recently chopped it up with NEHip-Hop about his friendship with Tony Yayo, meeting and chopping it up with 50 Cent, Statik Selektah, Chance The Rapper, Kendrick Lamar his New York City album and more.
During the interview Tony Yayo calls and tells Troy he's got some business for him.

On his New York City album
The reception has been everything I thought and more. It's been amazing, nothing short of greatness. It's loved all across the board and it's been met with nothing but exclamatory remarks. Like, the best work out of new York in over a decade. I brought the city back from the dead.

I wasn’t feeling Statik the other day man because Complex had a list of some shIt, and rookie of the year, he voted for Chance The Rapper over me. And I said I’m gonna tell’em when I see’em, ‘That sh*t you did voting for Chance The Rapper over Troy Ave was corny ‘cause I don’t see Chance The Rapper at your parties or featuring on your records, you can’t be f*cking voting for drug addicts to be rookie of the year. The game is twisted and f*cked up. How is a drug addict gonna be at the forefront of rap? That sh*t is corny. Basically, he cleared it up, he said there wasn’t like a list of names for him to choose from. He didn’t pick him over me, they just asked him, ‘Who do you vote for?' and they had to send out a name or whatever.
On meeting 50 Cent at the SMS Promotions "Big Apple Boxing" event.
Shout out to 50 Cent. We chopped it up before and after the fight. That was just dope. When you get to chop it up with someone you admired growing up for what they did rapping and for the inspiration they gace to the streets. And when you actually meet them they like Yo, I f*ck with what you're doing.' That sh*t mean a lot.
On Kendrick Lamar being a "weirdo"
Kendrick say he actually fuck with my music heavy. I wasn’t dissing him or nothing, it’s like if somebody said ‘Troy Ave is a dark skin rapper,’ alright, that’s the truth. Kendrick Lamar is a weirdo rapper, you know what I mean? That don’t mean he don’t make good music, he got a few songs that I actually happen to like, but he’s a weirdo. Weirdo meaning different, you know what a weirdo is, you know what I mean. That’s what it is, it ain’t no dissing or nothing.

One of the two men charged with capital murder in the deaths of rapper Doe B and college student Kimberle Johnson was at one point close enough to the Grand Hustle artist he was allowed to appear in the music video for "Let Me Find Out."
Darius Thomas
25-year old Darius Thomas turned himself in to police on Wednesday (Jan 1). He appears at the 0:11 second mark holding a gun in the "Let Me Fing Out" video.

As we previously reported, Darius and Jason McWilliams are being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility without bail. Both have been charged with two counts of capital murder in the December 28 shooting death of Doe B and Johnson.

An unidentified man lies in a Houston hospital after brutal robbery

A Houston man faces months of rehabilitation and plastic surgery after two heartless thieves robbed him of Jay Z tickets he was trying to sell, then ran over him with their car.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the man put an add on Craigslist offering to sell 8 tickets to Jay's December 19th concert at the Toyota Center. He was contacted by Denitra Sherrelle Green and Cessica Darden, who said they were interested in buying the seats. An arrangement was made to meet at a local Starbucks on December 15 to complete the transaction.
When they met Darden had her baby in the car and told the seller he had to come over to her vehicle. When he reached inside to hand over the tickets, the women snatched them and took off with him hanging on the door. Darden then repeatedly kicked his arm until he let go of the the speeding car.
"He was begging them and instead of stopping, they drove faster," the victim's attorney, Andino Reynal, told KTRK."She kicked his arm so hard, they broke it. It was a clean break. He's going to have to have surgery. When the arm broke, he came off the car and the car ran over his legs."
While the victim was in the hospital being treated for severe road rash to his face and body, a broken right hand, crushed fingers, a broken leg, left arm and torn right knee, the women attended the Jay Z show.
"They're partying and having a good time." Reynal said.
Denitra Sherrelle Green
Green was later apprehended by police who tracked her down after witnesses wrote down her license plate number. Darden remains at large. Both women have been charged with aggravated robbery.
Green is currently free after making her $30,000 bond.
Meanwhile the victim will have to have plastic surgery on his face and may not look the same afterwards. He also may never be able to walk normally due to the injuries to his leg and knee and will have permanent damage to his fingers.

“I’ll never post a raunchy pic. There’s a difference between a porn-site picture and gym wear or bikini wear. Everything’s usually yoga pants,” the Roslyn, Long Island native told the New York Post. “Yes, it can be showy, but I’ve seen a lot worse. And if it motivates people to get their butts up and go to the gym, why not?”
Selter is profiting nicely from her hard work. So far she's landed endorsement deals with Game Plan Nutrition, as a spokeswoman and NYC water company NY20.
