Beast Mode to the rescue? The Seattle Seahawks lost starting running back Chris Carson and his backup C.J. Prosise to season ending injuries Sunday. With only one healthy back left, a pivotal matchup with the San Francisco 49ers next week and the playoffs fast approaching, the team will meet with Marshawn Lynch today about a possible reunion, according to Ian Rapoport.

Lynch hasn’t played in a game since last season, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

If you’re from Detroit you’ve heard of YBI aka Young Boys Inc...and Pony Down...who the newspapers and street gossip made most people, including myself, think those two groups were rivals. On the level of street sales they sort of were, but, as it turns out, most of the time they were working out of the same package,... and most of that time the package was coming from the Davis brothers. If you’re unfamiliar with YBI, links below will get you up to speed. Here’s a quick story about that one time when Doc Davis was going to pick up some money from Sylvester “Seal” Murray, main supplier to YBI, considered by the Federal government to be, perhaps, the largest H supplier in the entire midwest. And he was just one of the Davis’ brothers customers.

Eddie Murphy made a crack on 'SNL' at Bill Cosby's expense -- and the incarcerated comedian didn't appreciate it one bit ... with his rep calling Ed a "Slave" to Tinseltown.

Cosby's rep, Andrew Wyatt, posted a scathing response Sunday to Eddie's joke -- and it's pretty brutal. Wyatt, speaking on behalf of Bill, writes ... "Mr. Cosby became the first Black to win an Emmy for his role in I Spy and Mr. Cosby broke color barriers in the Entertainment Industry, so that Blacks like Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappell, Kevin Hart and et al., could have an opportunity to showcase their talents for many generations to come."

He went on ... "It is sad that Mr. Murphy would take this glorious moment of returning to SNL and make disparaging remarks against Mr. Cosby," going on to add, "One would think that Mr. Murphy was given his freedom to leave the plantation, so that he could make his own decisions; but he decided to sell himself back to being a Hollywood Slave."

Wyatt continues by comparing Eddie to vaudevillian actor Stepin Fetchit, and said "cooning" equals the destruction of black men in Hollywood. Then ... he offered a truce of sorts.

The guy invites Eddie to meet with Bill in hopes of "having a meeting of the minds" to help the black community instead of tearing it down -- something BC apparently thinks Eddie is doing by taking shots at him on national television.

ICYMI, Eddie joked if you would've told him 30 years ago he'd be this stay-at-home dad like he is now with so many kids (10 of 'em) while the Cos himself was in jail ... he would've taken that bet. He then imitated Cosby's voice, calling himself "America's Dad."

Cosby was found guilty of aggravated indecent assault in 2018, and is currently serving a 3 to 10 year prison sentence.

Video After The Jump

In this episode of People's Party, Talib Kweli and co-host Jasmin Leigh sit down with revolutionary chef, author, activist, TV host, and former b-boy Roy Choi. The conversation that follows spans a wide range of subjects -- from the launch of Choi's famous Kogi Truck to his role in Netflix's "The Chef Show." From the outset, it's clear that no subject is off-limits and Choi doesn't hold his tongue, discussing food deserts, offering his impressions of the LA riots, and opening up about his personal struggles with addiction.

Choi also talks about the hip-hop/food connection, kicks a few food-inspired lyrics, and trades Bourdain stories with Kweli. The trio hits on some big ideas throughout the episode -- liked the notion of subverting capitalism in order to create a more equitable society. The entire hour is deeply insightful and unflinchingly honest while still being funny and fast-paced.

13 People Shot At Chicago Memorial Party (Video)

12353289273?profile=original

Video After The Jump

CHICAGO (AP) — A shooting early Sunday at a house party held in honor of someone who was killed in April left 13 people wounded, four of them critically, Chicago police said.

The shooting stemmed from a dispute at the memorial party, Chief of Patrol Fred Waller said at an early morning news conference. He said shots were first fired just after 12:30 a.m.

The victims range in age from 16 to 48 and suffered “different and various gunshot wounds to their bodies.”

Two people were being questioned, Waller said. One of them was arrested with a weapon, he said, while the other was wounded. Waller said police recovered a revolver.

“It looked like they were just shooting randomly at people as they exited the party,” Waller said.

Waller did not provide details on the person who was being memorialized, including who the person was.

Waller described three different shooting scenes at the residential location in the city’s Englewood neighborhood, a predominantly low-income stretch of the city roughly 10 miles (16 kilometers) southwest of downtown that has high crime. The shooting started inside, then more shots were fired as people began spilling out of the house. Shots were also fired at a third place nearby, Waller said.

He described the shooting as an “isolated incident.”

The shooting comes as the city has been on the verge of closing out 2019 with sizable drops in shootings and homicides for the third straight year. Through roughly mid-December, about 475 people were killed, compared with 549 in 2018, which is a 14% drop. In 2016, the number of homicides was roughly 750, according to Chicago police data.

The declines happened citywide, including in historically high-crime areas. Still, Chicago still has more violent crime than New York and Los Angeles. Both cities had about 1,800 shooting victims combined, while Chicago has had about 2,500 this year, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Police have credited Chicago’s drop in crime to the use of technology used to predict where shootings might occur, while experts also credit anti-violence programs that offer jobs and gang conflict mediation.

Clive, Iowa -- A woman charged with attempted murder for her alleged involvement in a racially motivated hit-and-run reportedly used racial slurs at convenience store employees following the crash.

Clive police charged Nicole Franklin, 42, with attempted murder after she admitted to investigators that she hit 14-year-old Natalia Miranda because she is "Mexican" on Dec. 9.

"From the moment this happened, our officers were out knocking on doors, checking for home video surveillance, checking with bus drivers, anything we could find," Clive Police Chief Mike Venema said.

Venema said investigators received information on a suspect vehicle and learned that a woman in a similar vehicle was arrested at a West Des Moines gas station about an hour after the hit-and-run.

"She walked in and said, 'Hey, sand n*****, pump my gas," said a convenience store employee, who asked not to be identified. The convenience store employee said Franklin started stealing things and vandalizing the store, ripping open food bags and throwing things at him. He said he was not the only person on the receiving end of Franklin's hate-fueled rhetoric.

"Anybody .... a colored person walked in, (and) she was calling them n*****," he said. "'Hey n*****, you going to pump my gas?' That is when I called 911."

Clive investigators spoke with Franklin in the Polk County Jail.

"During the interview, Franklin not only admitted to being the driver of the car that struck this girl, but also that she had done so intentionally," Venema said. "Franklin told investigators that she ran the girl over because, in her words, 'She was Mexican.'"

Venema said authorities are investigating whether Franklin will be charged with hate crimes.

"I want to say in the strongest words, terms possible that there is no place in our community, or any other place for that matter, for this type of hatred or violence," he said.

Franklin is being held on $1 million bail. She is due back in court Dec. 30.

Video After The Jump

(CNN) A Texas grand jury has indicted a former Fort Worth police officer who two months ago fired through the window of a home, killing Atatiana Jefferson.

Early on October 12, Jefferson, 28, was playing video games with her nephew when Officer Aaron Dean and another officer arrived at her home.

A concerned neighbor had called the non-emergency police number after noticing the home's exterior doors were open at that late hour. As officers walked around the house in the dark, Jefferson heard a noise in the back yard, pulled out a gun from her purse and pointed it at the window, police said.

Dean yelled "Put your hands up! Show me your hands!" before he fired through the window, killing her, body camera footage showed. Neither of the officers identified themselves as police.

Attorney S. Lee Merritt, who represents the Jefferson family, tweeted: "Atatiana's family is (relieved) but remain cautious that a conviction and appropriate sentence is still a long way away. Keep pushing."

"My God, I was so happy to know that the man that shot and killed my daughter is going to be indicted for murder," said Yolanda Carr, Jefferson's mother. Jefferson had just moved back to the home to care for her.

"Justice was served on that part, but I know we got a long way to go," she said through tears. "I'm so glad that they finally indicted that man on murder because he murdered my baby."

Dean, 34, resigned from the force and was charged with murder, the charge on which he was indicted.

Dean's attorney, Jim Lane, told CNN in October the former officer is remorseful.

"My client is sorry, and his family is in shock," Lane said at the time.

In the days following the shooting, the former officer declined to speak with investigators, an October arrest warrant states, and his attorneys had told police he'd provide a written statement at a later date.

After the shooting, the neighbor who asked for a wellness check told CNN affiliate KTVT he felt "guilty' for calling the police because "had I not called the Fort Worth Police Department, my neighbor would still be alive today."

Jefferson graduated from Louisiana's Xavier University in 2014 with a degree in biology and worked in pharmaceutical equipment sales.

Video After The Jump

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The NYPD made a major gang takedown in Brooklyn, and they believe the group committed several murders and ran an interstate drug operation.

Ten people have been charged in a 48-count conspiracy indictment that includes two murders, seven shootings and drug possession, CBS2’s Charlie Cooper reports.

The men are allegedly part of the Brick Squad Gang, a subset of the larger Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation, affiliated with the Bloods. They’re believed to be a violent and well-organized crew that’s operated throughout Brooklyn but also expanded its narcotics trafficking in parts of Binghamton, New York, and Bangor, Maine.

“They were committed, as was said, to the shootings and homicides and other acts of violence here in Brooklyn, specifically in Vinegar Hill, Bed-Stuyvesant and Brownsville neighborhoods,” NYPD Inspector Richard Green said.

“They’re about violence. They are about making money and selling dangerous drugs in our communities and elsewhere. No more after this case with this arrest,” Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez played phone calls and videos of some of the suspects plotting to commit major crimes at a press conference Friday.

It’s alleged that since 2017, the gang has engaged in violent crimes with the leadership of 49-year-old Howard Smith, who they refer to as “The Godfather.” He and other incarcerated members are said to be in communication with guys on the outside to keep up to date with the gang’s activities.

Police believe the money being made through drug trafficking was distributed among high-ranking members in prison. Six of the defendants were arraigned Thursday and either remained without bail or held on $500,000 bail. The remaining four are set to be arraigned Friday and Monday. The defendants face up to 25 years to life in prison.

Among those charged is Stephan Khadu. Police sources tell CBS2 Khadu has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon for the 2017 shooting of a teenager and the 2018 shooting of a 37-year-old in Brooklyn.

Authorities believe the 22-year-old murder suspect shot 17-year-old John Fernandez back on Dec. 7, 2017 in front of a home on Bainbridge Street. The teen was found by first responders with a gunshot wound to his neck and died at the scene.

Investigators add that Khadu is also allegedly responsible for the death of Claudell Gary, who was found fatally shot in the neck and leg in front of a Hart Street residence back on April 18, 2018.

The NYPD also arrested two other suspects for Gary’s 2018 murder – 21-year-old Christopher Garcia and 20-year-old Quazeer Farmer.

Both men have also been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police did not reveal how they were able to track down the alleged killers after their years-long investigations.

Authorities dealt a staggering blow to the murderous MS-13 gang — busting 96 members and associates in the largest takedown of the notorious criminal group in New York state history, prosecutors announced Friday.

The busts — the result of a nearly two-year federal wiretapping investigation — essentially wiped out MS-13 on Long Island, according to law enforcement sources.

Many of the arrests were made Thursday and Friday morning, the sources said.

Those arrested include 45 MS-13 members and 19 associates charged with alleged murder conspiracies, drug trafficking, weapons possession and sales, gang violence, and other offenses in a special grand jury indictment, prosecutors said.

The DA’s office, along with federal, state and local officials who conducted the sweeping investigation, are set to announce the charges at an afternoon press conference.

Among other slayings and assaults, the ruthless gang has been blamed for the brutal killings of Brentwood High School students Nisa Mickens, 15, and Kayla Cuevas, 16, in September 2016. The victims were hacked and beaten to death with machetes and baseball bats.

President Donald Trump has often cited the dangers of the MS-13 “infestation” to push for tougher immigration laws.
