Bobby Smurda has been in prison for roughly six years. That could possibly change soon.

On the 25-year old's website there is a countdown clock that ends on August 4th at 8:00PM EST. Of course, it could mean a new single or collaboration is on the way, but the idea that the Brooklyn rapper might be a free man in the near future has fans excited.

Back in 2016, Bobby plead gulity to murder conspiracy charges and accepted a 7-year deal that included time served. In an interview that same year, Bobby explained that he took a longer sentence out of loyalty to fellow GS9 member, Rowdy Rebel.

“I did it for Rowdy. They offered me five and offered Rowdy 12. They said the only way they’ll give him seven is if I took seven too. So, you know, I had to take one for the dawgs.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — Joe Biden said Wednesday that President Donald Trump was the country’s “first” racist president.

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee’s comments came during a virtual town hall organized by the Service Employees International Union. When a questioner complained of racism surrounding the coronavirus outbreak and mentioned the president referring to it as the “China virus,” Biden responded by blasting Trump and “his spread of racism.”

“The way he deals with people based on the color of their skin, their national origin, where they’re from, is absolutely sickening,” the former vice president said. “No sitting president has ever done this. Never, never, never. No Republican president has done this. No Democratic president. We’ve had racists, and they’ve existed. They’ve tried to get elected president. He’s the first one that has.”

Biden also suggested that Trump is using race “as a wedge” to distract from his mishandling of the pandemic.

Many presidents — including the nation’s first, George Washington — owned slaves.

President Woodrow Wilson, the country’s 28th president, is having his name removed from Princeton University’s public policy school after recent protests against institutional racism and police brutality. Wilson, who served in the early 20th century, supported segregation and imposed it on several federal agencies.

At a White House briefing later Wednesday, Trump responded to a question about Biden’s comments by pointing to his administration’s efforts passing criminal justice reform legislation and expanding opportunity zones, as well as the low unemployment numbers for minority groups before the coronavirus outbreak.

“I’ve done more for Black Americans than anybody with the possible of exception of Abraham Lincoln,” the president said. “Nobody has even been close.”

Katrina Pierson, a senior adviser for Trump’s reelection campaign, said in a statement that ”no one should take lectures on racial justice from Joe Biden.”

The former Minneapolis cop charged with murder in the May 25 death of George Floyd is now, along with his wife, facing tax evasion charges.

Derek Chauvin, 46, and his wife, Kellie May Chauvin, 45, were each charged in Washington County on Wednesday with six counts of filing false or fraudulent tax returns for the tax years 2014 through 2019, and three counts of failing to file tax returns for 2016, 2017 and 2018, respectively.

The Chauvins’ underreported income from 2014 to 2019 totaled more than $464,000 and they allegedly owed nearly $22,000 in taxes, the Star Tribune reported. With interest, late filing and penalties, they now owe an estimated $37,868, according to the charges.

Floyd, a Black man who was handcuffed, died after Chauvin pressed his knee against Floyd's neck for nearly nine minutes as Floyd pleaded for air. Chauvin was charged last month with second-degree murder and manslaughter. He and three other officers who were at the scene were fired.

Chauvin is in custody on the charges in the Floyd case. Kellie Chauvin, who filed for divorce after Floyd's death, is not in custody.

Washington County Attorney Pete Orput said the investigation into the Chauvins was started in June by the Minnesota Department of Revenue and Oakdale Police Department.

Authorities allege in the criminal complaints that the Chauvins failed to file income tax returns and pay state income taxes, and that they underreported and underpaid taxes on income they earned from various jobs each year.

The complaints allege that they also failed to pay proper sales tax on a $100,000 BMW purchased in Minnesota in 2018. Prosecutors say the Chauvins bought the car in Minnetonka but registered it in Florida, where they paid lower sales taxes.

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Three people have been arrested on charges related to the killing of three friends who met up for a fishing trip in Polk County last week, Sheriff Grady Judd announced Wednesday.

Judd said Tony “TJ” Wiggins, 26, and his girlfriend, Mary Whittemore, 27, and Tony’s brother, William “Robert” Wiggins, 21, were all arrested this week on charges related to the deaths of 23-year-old Damion Tillman, 30-year-old Keven Springfield and 27-year-old Brandon Rollins.

Tony, who Judd said has 230 felony criminal charges in his arrest history dating back to age 12, is charged with first degree murder, tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

“He’s a thug. He’s a criminal. He’s pure evil in the flesh,” Judd said. “He’s wild and he’s out of control.”

Judd said Tony has 15 felony convictions on his record and has served two sentences in state prison.

Deputies said Robert is charged with tampering with evidence and accessory after the fact of capital felony, and Whittemore is charged with accessory after the fact of capital felony.

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Dallas County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s help after a driver was assaulted along a busy Dallas Highway when he was involved in a vehicle accident with an unidentified driver.

A passerby caught the confrontation on video.

The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, when a black and white Ford Crown Victoria stuck a maroon truck from behind that was traveling westbound on I-20 at I-35 in Dallas County.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of the Ford did not stop after the accident and continued about a ¼ mile down the road before the vehicle broke down due to the damage from the accident.

The driver of the truck had followed them and stopped ahead of the Ford after the Ford became disabled.

The driver of the truck got out and approached the driver of the Ford to exchange insurance information.

As he was doing this, two young men got out of the Ford with two children and got into a gray van that had pulled up behind them.

The driver of the truck was still trying to get information when a young man attacked him, knocked him to the ground and struck him several times with his fists.

Glory holes could be the key to having safe sex during the coronavirus pandemic ... at least according to Canada's top health experts.

The sexual suggestion comes down from the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control, and while it's not quite the same as a recommendation from our beloved Dr. Anthony Fauci, it still holds water.

The Canadian CDC breaks it down like this ... if you're gonna have sex during the pandemic, it's a helluva lot safer to "use barriers, like walls (e.g., glory holes), that allow for sexual contact but prevent close face-to-face contact."

New York City actually recommended walls back in June, but did not outright call them glory holes … sorry, NYC, Canada is holier than thou!

Folks on social media are having a field day tweeting creative ways to use walls and barriers, even suggesting things like "Plexiglas shields like in grocery stores except for glory holes," holes in sheets, mail slots, doggy doors and donuts.

If glory holes sound a little too raunchy for you, don't worry ... doggy style seems to be kosher too. The BC CDC also recommends choosing sexual positions that limit face-to-face contact.

We're sure you can think of a few options that fit the bill.

In the wake of Kanye West’s behavior in recent days related to his bipolar disorder, his wife Kim Kardashian West posted a long statement Wednesday morning asking for “compassion and empathy” for her husband.

“As many of you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand. I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health.”

She said she is making the statement due to the “stigma and misconceptions” around mental health in general, which is exacerbated in this situation by West’s fame, wealth and social media platforms.

“We as a society talk about giving grace to the issue of mental health as a whole, however, we should also give it to the individuals who are living with it in times when they need it the most,” she continued. “I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this.” She also thanked people who have expressed concern for West’s health in recent days.

Since Monday evening, West has fired off dozens of tweets in which he’s accused many people close to him, particularly his family, of disloyalty and attempting to “lock him up,” among multiple other accusations that he has since deleted. Such behavior is common for people suffering from bipolar disorder in the throes of a manic episode.

He also announced that he is releasing a new album on Friday.

Kanye West continued his Twitter rants on Tuesday night as he talked about Michael Jackson's death, Larsa Pippen, Drake and Lil Baby.

However, his most controversial tweets involved his wife, Kim Kardashian-West, and rapper Meek Mill.

"I been trying to get divorced since Kim met Meek at The Warldolf (sic) for 'prison reform,'" West wrote, seeming to imply that there was more than a business meeting that took place between Meek and Kim.

"Meek is my man and was respectful. That's my dog. Kim was out of line," the "Bound 2" hit maker continued.

West further distanced himself from Kim and her mom, Kris Jenner, in another since-deleted tweet.

"Kriss (sic) and Kim put out a statement about me without my approval ... that's not what a wife should do. White supremacy."

This latest diatribe came on the same day Dave Chappelle flew out to meet with Kanye and check on his well being. West seemed to be doing fine in a video he released, showing him outside of a cabin with Dave.

Where this is all going is anybody's guess at the moment.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's son is now being sued after he was accused of stabbing his neighbor in June ... with the alleged victim claiming he suffered a skull fracture and brain bleed in the attack.

We broke the story ... back on June 9, cops in San Clemente, Calif. arrested 28-year-old Adam Abdul-Jabbar after they say he attacked his neighbor during an argument.

The neighbor -- ID'ed as 60-year-old Raymond Winsor -- claims in the new lawsuit, obtained by TMZ Sports, the whole incident went down after he urged Abdul-Jabbar to help his elderly grandmother with chores.

Winsor says Abdul-Jabbar exploded on him ... claiming in the lawsuit, Abdul-Jabbar told him, "Shut your f'**king mouth or I'm gonna stick this knife through your teeth and cut your throat out."

Winsor says Abdul-Jabbar then stabbed him seven times in the head, neck, back and side -- and caused MAJOR damage.

Winsor says he suffered a skull fracture and a subdural hematoma ... and was forced to stay in the hospital for three days after the altercation.

Now, Winsor is suing Abdul-Jabbar ... claiming he's suffering from shock, anxiety, worry, sleeplessness, depression and much more -- and he wants Abdul-Jabbar to pay up for his medical expenses plus additional damages.

We've reached out to Abdul-Jabbar's reps for comment, but so far, no word back.

However, we're told multiple people connected to the situation have said Winsor has been "needling" Adam for a while -- and the tension had been building for "a long time."

We're also told Adam is the person who called 911 -- and was cooperative with police.

As for the criminal case against Abdul-Jabbar, no formal charges have been filed yet.

We reached out to law enforcement for an update on that process, but no word back yet there either.

CHICAGO - Fifteen people were shot Tuesday evening outside a funeral home in Gresham on the South Side — the largest number of victims in a single Chicago shooting in recent memory.

The shooting happened about 6:30 p.m. as people left a funeral in the 1000 block of West 79th Street, Chicago Police First Deputy Supt. Eric Carter said.

Several police evidence markers placed near spent bullet casings were lying outside the entrance to Rhodes Funeral Services on the north side of the block. All told, Carter said, police recovered 60 of them.

The 15 victims were being treated at five area hospitals, Carter said. Chicago fire officials said they were listed in conditions ranging from serious to critical. All the victims ages range from 21 to 65-years-old, police said.

Police said they were investigating the motive and couldn’t say yet if the shootings were gang-related.

“We thought it was a war out here,” Geder told the Chicago Sun-Times. “It’s ridiculous all the shooting that’s going on out here, it really has to stop.”

Carter said a black vehicle was speeding west on 79th Street when people inside began “firing at attendees of a funeral.” Some of those at the funeral returned gunfire with those in the vehicle. The driver then turned north onto Carpenter, while at least one person in the vehicle continued to shoot at the funeralgoers.

The driver soon crashed in the 7800 block of South Carpenter. Those inside the vehicle ran off in different directions, though one “person of interest” was taken into custody and was being questioned by detectives Tuesday night, Carter said.

The shooting comes as the Department of Homeland Security is planning to deploy dozens of federal agents to Chicago to deal with an uptick in violent crime.

There's a new Karen in town ... and she's freaking out while wielding measuring tape.

It's unclear exactly what set this lady off, but it sounds like she's screaming something about protecting her family ... and she clearly has spacial issues.

According to the woman recording the video and her friend ... they went to the beach to have a nice, relaxing day until the angry woman went crazy on them.

They say Measuring Tape Karen ID'd herself as a nurse, and wanted them to move farther away from her, "because she feels like it."

Perhaps she felt they weren't social distancing enough, but that kind of goes out the window when you accost people and scream at them without wearing a mask.

Eventually, the mad lady was dragged away as she let out another primal shriek, shouting ... "It's people like you that are ruining it for all of us!"

Goodness' sakes, indeed.

Dave Chappelle is standing by Kanye West. The presidential hopeful shared a video to Twitter on July 21, where he gave the comedian a shoutout.

"THANK YOU DAVE FOR HOPPING ON A JET TO COME SEE ME DOING WELL DAVE YOU ARE A GOD SEND AND A TRUE FRIEND ALL LOVE," he tweeted. In the clip, West, Chappelle and others stood in front of a log cabin and they appeared to pose for a picture.

"Brotherhood is real, love is real," Chappelle said in the clip. West then said that he needed a punchline or a joke from Chappelle. "Something to lift our spirits," West suggested.

Chappelle chided that he was still on his first cup of coffee and needed time to come up with a good joke. "An uplifting joke? You know I don't write them!" he said. The group with West and Chappelle laughed, and hugged each other before walking out of the frame.

This tweet comes less than 24 hours after West went on a bizarre Twitter rant.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - A woman who allegedly abandoned her newborn baby inside a trash can in Wilmington last week made her first appearance in court Monday.

Maryuri Estefany Calix-Macedo, 21, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.

A woman walking her dog along Fairview Drive Thursday afternoon heard the baby’s cries coming from the trash can and rescued the child before calling 911.

After she was taken into custody, Calix-Macedo was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for an assessment and later booked in jail under an $800,000 bond.

Calix-Macedo made a brief court appearance Monday afternoon through video. Through a translator, she asked for a court-appointed attorney. Her next court date will be Aug. 6.

Police said the baby is healthy and doing well.

This case is still under investigation.
