(CNN) All hail Queen Bey!
Beyoncé went into the Grammys Sunday with nine nominations, the most of any artist for the night.
And oh what a night it was for her.
By the time it ended, she had broken the record for the most Grammys won by a woman and any singer, male or female, with 28 -- also tying the record with music impresario Quincy Jones as the living person with the most Grammys.
Queen Bey surpassed bluegrass-country singer Alison Krauss who previously held the record with 27.
The winning streak started before the televised ceremony when Beyoncé and her 9-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter won the award for best music video award for the single, "Brown Skin Girl."
Beyoncé and fellow Houston native Megan Thee Stallion also made history as the first pair of women to ever win best rap performance with the remix of Megan Thee Stallion's "Savage." The pair then went on to win for best rap song for the same tune.
But it Beyoncé's win for best R & B performance for "Black Parade" that put her over the top.
She said she was overwhelmed by breaking the record.
"I've been working my whole life, since 9 years old, and I can't believe this happened," she said.
The Grammy telecast included a brief salute to Beyoncé's ground-breaking visual album, "Black Is King."

NEW CARLISLE, Ind — The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit Saturday evening released the name of a 6-year-old girl who was reported missing Friday and later found dead, leading to the arrest of an unidentified 14-year-old boy.
Grace Ross was reported missing at 6:30 p.m. Friday, having been last seen in the area of Chapman Drive. She was found two hours later in a wooded area near Chapman, the Metro Homicide Unit said in a press release.
In a press release Saturday evening from the St. Joseph County prosecutor's office, which oversees Metro Homicide, the office said the 14-year-old was not being named because he is "progressing through the juvenile system."
An autopsy for Grace is scheduled for Sunday morning.
This is an open and active investigation.

(WXYZ) — Now that Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has opened up COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to all Michiganders ages 16 & older, beginning next month, the focus now turns to convincing more people to get the vaccine. Surveys show 1/3 of Americans are still hesitant to get vaccinated.
Vaccines only work if people take them. A vast majority of people have to get vaccinated in order to reach herd immunity & stop the coronavirus from spreading.
However, a recent survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation shows about 31% of the U.S. population is still hesitant about getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
What that means is they want to “wait & see” how the vaccine is working for other people before getting it.
Here are the main reasons for this hesitancy:
- Worries about safety & long-term side effects
- A lack of trust in the government
- Concerns that the vaccine is too new
- And, worries that they will contract COVID-19 from the vaccine.
Interestingly, 60% of the adults in this “wait & see” group do not yet know someone who has been vaccinated.
First of all, vaccine hesitancy is normal & natural. Here are some ways to overcome it or help someone else to get past their uncertainty.
First, get answers to your questions about the vaccine. I encourage you to research credible sources, like the CDC website, where you can find vaccine myths & facts.
-If you have already been vaccinated, share your experience with those who are hesitant. - And talk about the known side effects and other concerns with your trusted health care provider, so you know what to expect.

Teddy Atlas joins SportsCenter and looks back on the life of former middleweight champion “Marvelous” Marvin Hagler.
Rest in peace.

Marvelous Marvin Hagler -- former middleweight champion and one of the greatest boxers who ever lived -- has died ... this according to his wife.
A post with the sad news went up Saturday on Hagler's official fan club page on Facebook, reading ... "I am sorry to make a very sad announcement. Today unfortunately my beloved husband Marvelous Marvin passed away unexpectedly at his home here in New Hampshire. Our family requests that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."
The note was signed by his wife, Kay. The exact circumstances of his death weren't released.
Hagler has gone down in history as a boxing great, & perhaps one of the best -- if not THE best -- middleweight fighters to step in the ring. He held the title as the undisputed middleweight champion of the world from 1980 to 1987 ... an incredible run.
He got his first title shot in '79 against Vito Antuofermo -- which got called a draw, despite many feeling Hagler had taken it. He got a 2nd shot at the title the following year ... this time against Alan Minter -- whom Hagler pounded into a 3rd round stoppage.
Year after year, Hagler successfully defended his title ... but one of the most brutal bouts to date ended up going down against Tommy Hearns in 1985, which got billed as 'The War.' It only went three rounds, but all of them were brutal ... especially that opening one, which is regarded as one of the most violent & action-packed to date.
Hagler's reign came to an end in 1987 against none other than boxing icon Sugar Ray Leonard, who came out of retirement for another shot at the title. They went all twelve rounds, & despite many saying Hagler got the better of SRL ... the latter was announced as the winner in a split decision. Granted, Leonard landed a higher percentage of punches.
Hagler is survived by his current wife & five children from a previous marriage. He was 66.

A 65-year-old Texas woman found herself tackled & handcuffed after refusing to leave a Galveston Bank of America branch that requires customers to wear a coronavirus mask inside.
A Galveston police officer arrived at the scene & told the woman, identified as Terry White, the situation.
"Ma’am, if they ask you to leave, you have to leave," the officer says in bodycam video.
"My money is in this bank, and I’m going to take it out," she replies.
"Well then you have to abide by their rules," the officer answered.
Even as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has lifted a statewide mask mandate, private businesses are still allowed to implement their own mask rules, capacity limits or other safety guidelines.
"Businesses have the right to refuse service even if you’re not wearing a mask," the officer explains. "You need to go & get a mask & then take your money out."
She continues to protest & the officer tells her "we’re gonna do this the easy way or the hard way."
"What are you gonna do, arrest me?" she replies.
"Yes, for intruding on premises," he says. "This is not a public place. This is a private business."
Then he tries to usher her out.
"Back up! Back up! Some old lady is getting handcuffed here!" she yells.
In the video, she appears to ignore his orders to put her hands behind her back & asks, "Is anybody gonna get real here? No one’s gonna get real? Wow."
He cuffs her.
"Police brutality right here people," she declares.
"No…no it’s not," a chorus of other bank customers can be heard saying. She calls them "a bunch of sheep."
White, who accused the arresting officer of breaking her foot, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
She faces charges of criminal trespass & resisting arrest, although refusing to wear a mask on its own is not a crime in Texas under Abbott’s latest directive.

Breonna Taylor was killed one year ago today, & civil rights attorney Ben Crump marked the day with a cry for justice.
Crump tweeted, "1 year ago, Breonna Taylor was tragically killed in her own home, igniting a movement for racial justice and necessary change, which has prompted many cities & states to BAN no-knock warrants. 365 days have passed but the fight for justice for Breonna Taylor continues!!"
He called the killing a case of "sleeping while black," decrying the tragedy where Breonna was sprayed with 6 bullets from cops who executed the no-knock warrant in the middle of the night.
Breonna's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, who was in the apartment with Breonna, filed a federal lawsuit Friday against the City of Louisville. Prosecutors have dropped all charges against Walker, who shot at one of the officers. Walker insisted the cops never announced themselves & thought they were home intruders. Cops say they did announce.
The FBI said Saturday it was reaffirming its commitment to continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
As you know, Attorney General Daniel Cameron never gave the Grand Jury instructions to look at possible homicide charges against any of the cops. Some grand jurors were outraged they never had an opportunity to look at the possibility of such charges.

Sometimes racism is subtle, oblique ... but not here.
United States Senator Ron Johnson says he didn't feel threatened at all during the failed coup attempt on January 6th, because the rioters were true patriots, but God forbid, if the shoe was on the other foot where Trump won and there was a BLM Capitol protest, well he says that would be downright scary.
The Republican Senator from Wisconsin made his comments on "The Joe Pags Show," and it's drawing heavy fire. Johnson said of the Jan. 6th insurrectionists, "Even though those thousands of people were marching on the Capitol were trying to pressure people like me to vote the way they wanted me to vote, I knew those were people that loved this country, that truly respected law enforcement, would never do anything to break the law, so I wasn't concerned."
Before we get to the BLM comment ... is he kidding? Cops were beaten by protesters, 140 of them were injured and one was killed -- respect law enforcement??? Law-abiding???
Now, as for Johnson's BLM comment, check this out ... "Had the tables been turned and President Trump won the election and those were tens of thousands of Black Lives Matter and antifa protesters, I might have been a little concerned."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man accused of drowning two of his sons & trying to kill his ex-wife by driving them off a Los Angeles wharf to collect an insurance payout was sentenced Thursday to 212 years in federal prison for fraud.
Ali F. Elmezayen, 45, received the maximum sentence from a judge who denounced an “evil & diabolical scheme.”
“He is the ultimate phony & a skillful liar … and is nothing more than a greedy and brutal killer,” U.S. District Judge John R. Walter said. “The only regret that the defendant has is that he got caught.”
The judge also ordered Elmezayen to pay $261,751 in restitution to the insurance companies. A federal jury convicted him of mail fraud, wire fraud, aggravated identity theft & money laundering in 2019.
After the car plunged into the water in 2015, Elmezayen was charged in the federal fraud case & accused by local prosecutors of murder, attempted murder & a special circumstance that the killings were for financial gain.
The murder charges were arranged to be prosecuted after the federal case.
“A bench warrant has been issued & our office is evaluating the next step,” Greg Risling, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County district attorney, said.
Elmezayen bought more than $3 million worth of life & accidental death policies on himself & his family from eight insurance companies between July 2012 & March 2013.
Elmezayen drove a car carrying his ex-wife and two youngest children off a commercial fishermen’s wharf in the San Pedro area of the Port of Los Angeles on April 9, 2015. It was 12 days after the two-year contestability period on the last of his insurance policies expired, prosecutors said.
Elmezayen got out through the open driver’s side window and his ex-wife, who could not swim, was rescued when she got out and a fisherman threw her a flotation device. The boys, ages 8 & 13, were strapped in & could not escape the vehicle.
Their third son was away at camp at the time.
Elmezayen received more than $260,000 in insurance proceeds from two companies on policies he had taken out on the children’s lives & used some of the money to buy real estate in Egypt & a boat, prosecutors said.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California man who killed his wife propped up her body on a sofa, told their children she was drunk & had them open Christmas presents in front of her body, a prosecutor told jurors at his murder trial.
“This Christmas story does not have a happy ending, and unfortunately this is not just a story, it is real life,” Heather Brown, senior deputy district attorney in Orange County, said Monday as trial began for William Wallace of Anaheim.
Za’Zell Preston, 26, was taking college classes in hopes of becoming a domestic violence counselor when she was killed in 2011 by a man who already had served jail time for beating her.
The couple had gone to a neighbor’s Christmas Eve party & a neighbor described hearing an argument later that night, Brown said. Wallace told a member of Preston’s family that “we were drinking & during the argument I tossed her around a bit,” the prosecutor said.
Brown said the next morning, Wallace dragged his wife’s body from the bedroom to the living room couch, placed sunglasses on her and told the children: “Mommy ruined Christmas, she got drunk & ruined Christmas.”
Preston was slumped over on the couch when paramedics arrived. She left a newborn son & two daughters, who were then 3 & 8 years old.
Wallace’s attorney argued that Preston died from injuries after she drunkenly tripped & fell into a glass table.
Wallace, 39, could face up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Facing unprecedented political isolation, a defiant New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo insisted on Friday that he would not step down in the wake of sexual harassment allegations and condemned the sprawling coalition of Democrats calling for his resignation as “reckless & dangerous.”
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer & U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand called Friday on New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign, adding the most powerful Democratic voices yet to calls for the governor to leave office in the wake of allegations of sexual harassment & groping.
“Confronting & overcoming the Covid crisis requires sure and steady leadership. We commend the brave actions of the individuals who have come forward with serious allegations of abuse & misconduct,” New York’s two U.S. senators said in a joint statement. “Due to the multiple, credible sexual harassment & misconduct allegations, it is clear that Governor Cuomo has lost the confidence of his governing partners & the people of New York. Governor Cuomo should resign.”
Both had earlier said an independent investigation into the allegations against Cuomo was essential.
A majority of state lawmakers had already called on Cuomo to resign, & more than half of New York’s Democratic congressional members joined those calls Friday.

A high school basketball announcer in Oklahoma called players "f***ing n*****s" for kneeling during the national anthem before a game this week ... and it was all caught on a hot mic.
It all went down before the Norman HS girls hoops team faced off against Midwest City during the Oklahoma 6A state basketball tournament Thursday night.
Every player from Norman elected to kneel for the duration of the anthem ... which led to the announcer's outburst on the National Federation of State High School Association Network's official live stream. Here's what we heard in the clip ...
"They're kneeling? F***ing n*****s. I hope Norman gets their ass kicked. F*** them. I hope they lose. They're gonna kneel like that?"
The clip has since made rounds on social media .. with NFL stars like Kenny Stills -- who also kneels for the anthem & Gerald McCoy speaking out against the blatant racism.
"Amerikkka," Stills tweeted Friday morning ... while McCoy added, "See why we do it!?! They still think it’s about the flag."
Players from the Norman girls hoops team also spoke out against the announcer's comments ... saying, "This is why we kneel."
The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association -- which contracted the announcers for the game -- announced Thursday night's broadcast crew has been pulled from the remainder of the tournament while it investigates the incident.

The city of Minneapolis on Friday agreed to pay $27 million to settle a civil lawsuit from George Floyd's family over the Black man's death in police custody, even as jury selection continued in a former officer's murder trial.
The Minneapolis City Council emerged from a closed session to announce the record settlement, which includes $500,000 for the neighborhood where Floyd was arrested. Floyd family attorney Ben Crump called a news conference for 1 p.m. that was to include family members.
Crump, in a prepared statement, said it was the largest pretrial civil rights settlement ever, and "sends a powerful message that Black lives do matter and police brutality against people of color must end."
Floyd was declared dead on May 25 after Derek Chauvin, a former officer who is white, pressed his knee against his neck for about nine minutes. Floyd's death sparked sometimes violent protests in Minneapolis & beyond & led to a national reckoning on racial justice.
"I hope that today will center the voices of the family and anything that they would like to share," Council President Lisa Bender said. "But I do want to, on behalf of the entire City Council, offer my deepest condolences to the family of George Floyd, his friends and all of our community who are mourning his loss."
Floyd's family filed the federal civil rights lawsuit in July against the city, Chauvin & three other fired officers charged in his death. It alleged the officers violated Floyd's rights when they restrained him, & that the city allowed a culture of excessive force, racism & impunity to flourish in its police force.
