Kid Cudi must feel like the world is against right about now.
After just recently being kicked off of Lady Gaga's 'Monster Ball Tour'. The "Day N Night" rapper was pulled over at gunpoint by the Los Angeles Police Department Monday (December 21). In an apparent case of mistaken identity.
Cudi had just wrapped up a photo shoot for NME outside a Joyrich store on Melrose Avenue. As he and his crew left the store in two SUV's and a Jeep the LAPD swarmed in like they were about to take down a Mafia boss.
After being pulled over, a total of five police cars blocked the path of the rap star and his entourage. Then made them get out of their vehicles onto their hands and knees where they were handcuffed.
The police soon realized their mistake and released them with the explanation that someone had identified them as being involved in a robbery.
Kid Cudi seemed to take it all in stride and released a statement via NME :
"Who knows, really, the story changed a bunch," he said. "I'm just happy to be back. I'm a free man! For that moment I was not free. I was in handcuffs. It did not feel very comfortable.
We're in LA, it's a rowdy place in the United States, you know? And a lot of shit goes down. And these cops have to use force. So it's, like, I understand that they were doing their job. I just wish we weren't in that place at that time."
I think Cudi must have been in shock and just relieved he didn't get shot because what happened would have outraged most people. The LAPD doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to dealing with people of color.
Here's hoping Kid Cudi has a much better 2010 with much success.

It’s game over for a 14-year-old Roxbury boy, whose overwhelmed mother was so exasperated with his incessant video game playing that she called the cops on him.
The final straw for Angela Mejia snapped at 2:30 a.m. Saturday when, “I woke up in the middle of the night and saw the light on in his bedroom,” hours after she had told him to go to sleep.
“Sometimes I want to run away, too,” Mejia said, breaking down in tears in her immaculate apartment. “I have support from my church, but I’m alone. I want to help my son, but I can’t find a way.”
Mejia is among thousands of parents struggling with today’s video-game obsessed youth. The Entertainment Software Association reports the popularity of video games is skyrocketing, with 42 percent of adults intending to give, or hoping to find one in their Christmas stocking this week.
Mejia’s son - one of four children the 49-year-old is raising alone - was playing “Grand Theft Auto,” an exceedingly violent video in which the gamer assumes the role of ladder-climbing criminal.
An argument ensued as Mejia unplugged her son’s PlayStation. Then, this mad-as-hell mother dialed 911. Police responded and managed to talk the boy into shutting off the game and going to sleep.
“They (police) were just like, ‘Chill out. Go to bed,’ ” the boy told the Herald.
Mejia said she approves of athletic-themed videos, but as for “Grand Theft Auto,” she said, “I would never buy that kind of video. No way. I called (police) because if you don’t respect your mother, what are you going to do in your life?”
Mejia, a cafeteria cashier at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Jamaica Plain, said the two officers who responded “were surprised” there was more involved than putting the lid on a simmering family feud.
Emmy Award-winning documentarian Lawrence Kutner, former co-director of the Center for Mental Health and Media at Massachusetts General Hospital is the author of “Grand Theft Childhood: The Surprising Truth About Violent Video Games and What Parents Can Do.”
“Clearly, it’s a very, very rare situation for someone to call the cops. That she went to the extreme of calling the police tells me more about her level of frustration than anything else,” Kutner said.
“Adults tend to view video games as isolating experiences,” Kutner said. “Kids view them as social experiences. It’s a way in part - especially for boys - of gaining social acceptance.”

Video After The JumpPolice are hunting a man who carried out what they describe as 'bizarre' sexual assaults after he repeatedly knelt behind a shelf stacker to smell his behind.
The man was caught on CCTV creeping up on the unsuspecting worker at least 20 times as he stacked shelves at a Co-op store in Plymouth, Devon. The footage shows him casually pretending to chose items from shelves before suddenly crouching down behind the employee.
The man's odd behaviour to the employee was spotted on at least two occasions. The offences only came to light when the employee became suspicious and informed his manager who checked the in-store security video.
The victim - who cannot be named for legal reasons - said: "I had no idea what was going on. I thought it was all a bit strange. I was shocked and I couldn't believe he was in the aisle for that long."
Police say they are treating it as sexual assault.
DC Steve White of Plymouth police, said: "We are treating this incident very seriously and we would appeal to the public's help in tracking down this man.
"It is a bizarre incident and the shop was full of people. Someone must have seen the man and could well help us identify him."
The man is white, clean shaven and of medium to large build.
During the first incident he was wearing a brown T-shirt with jeans and black shoes and glasses and in the second a blue shirt with jeans.

Gargamel Music Incorporated has announced their full support for their star reggae artist Buju Banton, who was arrested December 10 on federal drug conspiracy charges.
According to Gargamel president Tracii McGregor, Banton will be provided with top legal service representation from David Oscar Markus, who is a veteran of many high-profile drug cases including that of former Panama military dictator Manuel Noriega.
Markus is set to replace Banton’s current attorney Herbert Walker III, who represented the singer for his initial court appearance.
“It’s on and popping. Walker has never really been our attorney,” McGregor explained to CaribWorldNews.com. “This is Buju and we’re going to get him the top legal representation there is. We are ready to fight. I saw him yesterday and told him to go inward and preserve you.”
Banton, real name Mark Anthony Myrie, was indicted last Tuesday (December 15) with two other men for allegedly attempting to distribute at least five kilograms of cocaine.
Before his arrest, Banton was having a highly successful year, receiving a Grammy nomination for his latest album Rasta Got Soul.
A video for the track “Optimistic Soul” was recently completed.
Last Wednesday (December 16), Banton waived his bail hearing right and will face trial in Tampa, Florida. If convicted, he faces a minimum of 20 years to life in prison.

Rumors were flying over the weekend regarding rapper Asher Roth's sexual preference.
According to gossip blogs, Roth was slated to appear on an E! News Holiday special this week where he'd talk in detail about rumors of him "coming out the closet."
Roth was apparently the topic of a book about gay men in hip-hop, called Hiding in Hip-Hop by author Terrance Dean (reports TeamYee.tv), who posted a blog entry this week saying the rapper was definitely mentioned in his book.
In the special, the rapper was to confirm the rumors. However, the news is untrue says a rep from his label, SRC Records, who says Roth is straight.
"I would like to address the recent Internet rumors about Asher Roth: Asher Roth is not gay, and is not scheduled to be interviewed on the E! channel,"SRC VP DJ Vlad said in a statement on his website (VladTV.com).
It was also rumored that Roth was dropped from SRC, where he released his debut album, Asleep In the Bread Aisle, earlier this year. This was also untrue.
Vlad said that Asher Roth is still signed with the label, and remains a top priority.
"Asher has not been dropped from SRC Records, and is a top priority at the label after having sold over a million copies of his 'I Love College' single," said Vlad. "Asher is currently working on his next album for SRC."
The rapper had not commented on the rumor himself. at press time.

Video After The JumpLast week, we detailed Rihanna's rather, uh, eventful year when we named her our #3 Woman of 2009. It started in February with her assault at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown, and culminated in the release of her most adventurous album yet, the dark and artful Rated R. Along the way, she overcame adversity and reclaimed her title as one of the biggest acts in the world and, perhaps most notable of all, she inspired millions with her strength and spirit.
But what inspired her? When we caught up with Rihanna on the set of her just-released "Hard" video, we decided to find out. She let us in her world, revealing the song that served as the soundtrack for her year, and the artist who she idolized the most in '09.

More outrageous news from Tila Tequila: she's pregnant!
After proclaiming her engagement to heiress Casey Johnson Dec. 9, the MTV reality star tweeted her latest "big announcement" Sunday:
"I am going to become a SURROGATE MOTHER for my brother and his Wife!!...That is my xmas present to them," she writes. "I'm pregnant!!!"
Earlier, she teased that she was giving her brother a present that would "CHANGE HIS LIFE AND MINE FOREVER!!!! ITS HUGE!"
Tila (real name: Tila Ngyuen), 27 has not yet provided additional details about the due date of the child or how she reached the momentous decision.
She is also apparently being generous with her parents this year -- she notes on the microblogging site that she's "going to surprise my Mom & Dad & Buy them a new house in Vietnam where they can retire & B happy."
The star recently showed off her engagement ring from supposed fiancee Johnson. She said it was a "17-carat diamond ring from my baby...My baby takes care of me. Beat that J.Lo! Beat that Khloe and Lamar!"
All the happy news follows darker headlines from Tila: she had recently alleged that her ex-boyfriend, San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman, choked and restrained her at his home; her claims were dropped in September due to insignificant evidence.

Simon Monjack (left) has asked that an autopsy not be performed on his wifeHollywood stunner Brittany Murphy, who found big-screen success after her breakout role in "Clueless," died Sunday after collapsing in the shower.
Los Angeles cops are investigating the 32-year-old's sudden death, but a coroner official said it "appears to be natural."
An autopsy is pending - over the objections of her British screenwriter husband, Simon Monjack, who told hospital staffers he didn't want one, according to the gossip Web site TMZ.
The screen siren and singer was in full cardiac arrest and could not be revived after her beloved mother - who told paramedics the actress was diabetic - found her unconscious in the shower, TMZ reported.
Five paramedics who arrived after the 8 a.m. 911 call feverishly administered CPR as Monjack wandered around in his pajama bottoms, a witness told RadarOnline. Murphy was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Murphy had been suffering from flulike symptoms for days and was throwing up profusely in the hours before she died, TMZ said. "There were a lot ... a lot of prescriptions in the house," a source said.
The troubled starlet rose to fame in 1995 as the sidekick Tai in "Clueless," who went from awkward wallflower to snotty hottie. She has appeared in more than 25 movies since then, including 1997's "Bongwater," "Girl, Interrupted" in 1999, "8Mile" and "Sin City."
Murphy, whose gravelly voice rocked the animated film "Happy Feet," even broke into the dance club world with the hit single "Faster Kill Pussycat."
Murphy lived in Edison, N.J., before moving to California when she was 13 and landing her first television role in "Blossom."
She underwent a transformation from a too-pudgy-for-Hollywood brunette to a bone-thin blond - with cleavage ample enough to land her in Maxim's 100 hottest women in 2006.
Speculation over her weight loss haunted her for years, but she dismissed reports that her weight was connected to drug use or an eating disorder.
"I have never tried [cocaine] in my entire life,"she told Jane magazine.
Friends openly worried that she had become addicted to the prescription painkiller Vicodin after undergoing plastic surgery.
"Brittany has been living life on the edge," one source told Britain's Daily Mail.
She was set to play a small role in Sylvester Stallone's upcoming film "The Expendables," due out in August. Earlier this month, she abruptly left the Puerto Rico set of "The Caller."
Twitter was abuzz with tributes from stars, like old squeeze Ashton Kutcher, her co-star in 2003's "Just Married."
"See you on the other side kid," Kutcher tweeted.
Screenwriter and director Kevin Smith referred to the actress' oft-quoted line in "Clueless": "G'night,Ms. Murphy; hope you're rollin' with the homies someplace nice."
In a statement, her family called Murphy's death a " terrible tragedy. She was ... a shiningstar."
