Police charged a father with murder Sunday, accusing him of beating his 6-year-old to death because the boy would not fall asleep.

Police say the fatal, eight-hour beating was the final episode in at least two weeks of abuse that Tekerrious Jackson suffered since coming to spend the summer with his father, 34-year-old Alex McGowen Duncan.

This has got to be one of the most horrifying and heartbreaking cases I’ve ever seen,’’ Houston Police Department Homicide Division detective Sgt. Brian Harris said. “The saddest thing is, that because of the unconditional love he had for his father, the child would often tell him, ‘I love you daddy.’”

Duncan would force Tekerrious — who was called TK — to get on his knees and raise his arms above his head when the child didn’t go to sleep, police said. Harris said Duncan would then proceed to repeatedly punch the child in the chest.

“If (Duncan) didn’t see him with his eyes closed or saw him wink, he would beat him,” Harris said.

Saturday night started the same way, police say. Duncan put TK to bed around 7 p.m. on one of the two mattresses in the small efficiency apartment in the 4900 block of Polk. Duncan shared the one-room unit with his girlfriend, 30-year-old Tammyra Sampson, and her 11-year-old daughter, Harris said.

After Duncan saw TK’s eyes flutter, he forced the boy onto his knees and ordered him to raise his arms above his head and clasp his hands together, Harris said.

Every time TK became tired and lowered his arms or gave an unsatisfactory answer to a question his father asked, he would get what Duncan described to investigators as “chest boxing,” a flurry of punches to the chest and the rest of the body, Harris said.

Daughter was witness

Harris said the beating continued until 3 a.m. with Sampson and her daughter witnessing the entire event. Harris said Sampson only intervened once to “show” him how to properly discipline a child with a belt.

She said ‘I stopped him and said ‘If you’re gonna whoop him, let me show you the proper way to whoop him,’’’ he said.

At one point, TK soiled himself, Harris said.

That sent the father into even more of a rage,” he said.

Shortly afterward, TK began to have what appeared to be a seizure. An ambulance was called and the boy was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Initially, Duncan, who has a history of drug charges dating to 1995, told police that the bruising was from attempting to revive the child from the seizure by slapping him and giving him chest thrusts.

His story, however, did not match the 11-year-old child’s graphic demonstration to police of the beating or Sampson’s statements.

During his interview, Duncan told investigators that he beat the boy in order to show his son how to “man up.”

“He said he was trying to teach him discipline, so he would make good choices,” Harris said, adding that Duncan would also hit Sampson’s daughter, but not as severely because she was a girl.

Duncan is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday. Sampson, who has a criminal history and history with Child Protective Services, has also been charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury by omission.

Both are in Harris County Jail with a bond of $50,000 each.

Tomas Rodriguez stands in his doorway next door to the apartment where 6-year-old Tekerrious Jackson was beaten to death. Neighbors were shocked by the boy's death

With father for summer

Duncan had gone about three years without seeing his son before calling the boy’s mother to say he wanted to be a part of the boy’s life again, Harris said.

The child’s mother agreed to let him stay with his father for the summer. When she left TK in late May, Duncan was living with his mother in the 5300 block of Coke. TK’s mother had not been able to get in contact with them and had no idea they had moved to the residence on Polk with Sampson but was assured that her son was OK by Duncan’s mother.

Neighbors in the small apartment complex were shocked by the news of the child’s death. They said the couple had moved in only a few weeks ago.

“There are people who pay lots of money to have kids. They take medicine so they can have kids and pay money to have other people’s kids,” said one neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous. “How can someone take the life of their own child?”

CPS is investigating and has placed the 11-year-old child with her paternal grandmother.

Zoe Saldana is one beautiful Latina woman. Is she as hot as Eva Mendes? I guess we'll be finding out soon as she has replaced Eva as Calvin Klein's new underwear model.

Zoe has been on a roll of late, starring in a string of movies like 'Death At A Funeral', 'The Losers', 'Avatar' and 'Star Wars'.

Now the New Jersey born actress will do her best to be as provocative as Eva has been for Calvin Klein.

"Calvin Klein has always put forth such beautifully executed campaigns," the recently engaged actress said in a statement. "It's very exciting for me to be associated with such an iconic, globally recognized brand like Calvin Klein Underwear."

WOMEN in burkas line up with AK47 assault rifles - as a shocking new terror threat linked to al-Qaeda is unveiled.

The female fanatics hid under traditional Muslim dress to be paraded for the first time at an extremist rally in Somalia.

They displayed their gun skills to a baying mob in the capital Mogadishu, demanding the withdrawal of foreign peace-keepers in the shattered African state.

The women have been drafted in to one of the most hardline terror networks, al-Shabaab, or Youth of the Mujahideen. It is linked to suicide bombings and murders of dozens of aid workers.

A British intelligence source said: "The recruitment of these women shows how ruthless the terrorists are prepared to be."

Tila Tequila won't get the Celebrity Rehab treatment, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

After being the first to sign onto Dr. Drew Pinsky's life-saving cable television show, the trouble-prone reality TV star has withdrawn from the program, which is expected to begin filming later this month.

"No," was the simple and short statement RadarOnline.com received from Tila's management, when we questioned if she was still to appear on the show.

Her manager refused to go into more detail about the circumstances behind her withdrawal.

But RadarOnline.com has learned the show's producers are not 'unhappy' about the decision.

The decision follows RadarOnline.com's revelation that the bi-sexual star was photographed with disturbing cut marks on both her arms.

At the time, a medical expert told us the marks were scars and were self-inflicted.

"These are self-mutilation scars," Dr. Joseph Haraszati, who had not treated Tila, told RadarOnline.com.

"It looks like there are some burn marks too... cutting and burning are a common combination among women."

Tila had claimed she woke up to find her arm gushing with blood.

It raised reports of a suicide attempt and Tila chose to blame it on her alter ego "Jane."

It is a major blow for Tila and Dr. Drew's high-profile show for VH1; the star was poised to be one of their main attractions, in the fourth series that failed to attract major names despite an attempt to recruit such luminaries as Lindsay Lohan and Heather Locklear.

Tila, who had a self-admitted prescription pill problem, was to get treatment for her addiction to snorting the sleep aid Ambien, as RadarOnline.com has reported.

"She would base her entire day around it," one insider had told RadarOnline.com. "She would wake up, snort ambien, Google herself, do more, Twitter all day and then sleep."

In trumpeting her sign-on, Tila had claimed that VH1 was also considering giving her a spinoff show about her sober life, should Celebrity Rehab go well.

"I know I am an extremely smart girl and to run all these empires when I am not even 30 yet, is quite an accomplishment, however I finally admitted to myself that I cannot rely on taking prescription pills everyday for the rest of my life!" Tila wrote, at the time of the announcement.

It's unclear if Tila will still seek help for her troubles.

Martin Lawrence and his longtime girlfriend, Shamicka Gibbs, were married in an intimate wedding on Saturday at the actor's home in Beverly Hills, PEOPLE confirms.

Lawrence, 45, and Gibbs, 35, exchanged Christian vows in the backyard in front of 120 guests, including Eddie Murphy and Denzel Washington. Their daughters Amara, 9, and Iyana, 7, and Lawrence's daughter Jasmine, 14, from a previous marriage were flower girls.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds joined their guests under a tent for a reception. For the family-style celebration, event designer Diann Valentine arranged for two long tables in the shape of an "X" for all the guests to sit together.

The four-course sit-down dinner, catered by Tres LA, included salad, crab cakes and salmon, Lawrence's favorite dish. The four-tiered wedding cake was by Rosebud Cakes in Beverly Hills.

"They wanted an intimate celebration," says a source. "This wedding was all about family.

Lawrence was last seen in this year's comedy Death at a Funeral. He recently wrapped Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son.

CHICAGO -- Jesse Jackson criticized Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert on Sunday, saying Gilbert sees LeBron James as a "runaway slave" and that the owner's comments after the free-agent forward decided to join the Miami Heat put the player in danger.

Shortly after James announced his decision last week, Gilbert fired off an incendiary letter to Cleveland's fans, ripping the 25-year-old and promising to deliver a title before James wins one. He called James' decision "cowardly" and later told The Associated Press he believes James quit during a handful of Cavaliers playoff games.

"He has gotten a free pass," Gilbert told the AP in a phone interview late Thursday night. "People have covered up for [James] for way too long. Tonight we saw who he really is."

Jackson said Gilbert's comments were "mean, arrogant and presumptuous."

"He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers," the reverend said in a release from his Chicago-based civil rights group, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. "His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runaway slave. This is an owner employee relationship -- between business partners -- and LeBron honored his contract."

Messages were left Sunday night seeking comment from Gilbert, the Cavaliers and James.

Jackson also called Gilbert's comments an attack on all NBA players and said the owner should face a "challenge" from the league and the players' association.

NBA spokesman Tim Frank declined comment.

Shannon Tavarez was performing as the young Nala in The Lion King on Broadway when her legs mysteriously started to hurt. The pain made walking – not to mention dancing – difficult. In April came the devastating diagnosis: At age 11, she had an acute form of leukemia.

The news "really hit me hard," says Tavarez.

Shannon Tavarez

Her struggle also struck a chord with Alicia Keys and Rihanna. The singers, who both started their careers when they were young, decided to help get the word out that Tavarez needs a bone marrow transplant to live.

Keys says she was touched when she visited Tavarez on July 2 in the Long Island hospital where she receives daily chemotherapy treatments.

"For her, the sky is the limit, but now she's fighting for her life," the mom-to-be, who is asking fans to become donors, tells PEOPLE.

Keys hopes Tavarez and other patients like her to have the chance to "grow up to live their dreams."

Rihanna seconds that sentiment. "[Tavarez] should be performing on Broadway, but is confined to her bed, fighting for her life," Rihanna tells PEOPLE. "She needs to find a bone marrow donor to survive. I urge all my fans to register [as donors]. It's the most beautiful thing someone could do, to give the gift of life."

To become a donor visit DKMS Americas or The National Marrow Donor Program, which operates the national registry.

Spain will remember this result, and forget how it happened. This was not pretty, not fun, and not classic. But, for the first time in Spain's history, La Furia Roja have won a World Cup.

Spain's typical aesthetic brilliance evaporated in the face of rugged Dutch defense, and referee Howard Webb exacerbated a chippy game by handing out 12 yellow cards and whistling 47 fouls. But this was a game played mostly with the prevailing tactics of world soccer, ones that make defense and counterattacking the lifeblood of winning teams.

On this day, Spain did those things better. Their 1-0 triumph, though, is anything but a victory for soccer.

Iker Casillas turned away an Arjen Robben breakaway that was the Dutch's best chance, and the oft-maligned Spanish defense kept the Oranje out of the box. The one Spanish goal, Andres Iniesta's volley in the second half of extra time, came on a long, slow counterattack capped by deft passing around the box, a spot of the standard Spanish brilliance tempered by the frustration and arrhythmia of the game.

This game as a whole was a defeat for joga bonito, the beautiful game. It was cynically played, as the Brits say, with players diving and whining and clipping more than they sliced and shot and defended. It was not a classic World Cup final, and lacked even the singular memorable moment that was Zinedine Zidane's horrific headbutt from 2006. Observers looking for compelling reasons for Americans to stick with soccer after this game will find only a few.

This World Cup, in sum, boiled down to a struggle between some of soccer's best elements—technical competence and attacking prowess, displayed by Spain, Germany, and Uruguay—and its worst—plodding, foul-based play that seeks to capitalize on shoddy refereeing to slow and disrupt that offense, the modus operani of these Dutch to their dying moments. And this final showed that the latter can and will win out, to the dismay of many. But the best team in this tournament won it, and the best team in the world got its first crown, and the more beautiful squad got its ultimate glory despite getting bogged down in a quicksand of defensive, physical soccer, providing a modicum of justice and solace for the aesthetes in soccer's audience.

Spain and fans of La Furia Roja will enjoy the wake of this game. They may be the only ones.

Urban Dictionary: Mollywhop - Getting mollywhopped is not a regular beatdown, but a beating where the victim is so physically or mentally incapable of fighting back they go down like a little bitch.

I think that accurately describes this video you're about to see.

If you're going to run from an ass whooping, at least make it more than 30 yards before you get caught. Dude does a Carl Lewis hurdle jump over a fence, but can't keep his balance.

Some dude allegedly robbed a female and her relatives caught up with him and handed out some street justice. That's what usually happens when you mess with people's families.

The chick filming sounded happy as hell, repeatedly saying, "I gotta get the fight, I gotta get the fight, I gotta get it."

Madness..........

I sometimes question the sanity of Fox talk show host, Glenn Beck.

He rants and raves and even once literally barked like a dog, So I think its best to just view him as a comedian.

This past week while poking fun at news competitor MSNBC for their low ratings he mocked Lindsay Lohan's not infamous courtroom appearance where the words "f*ck you" were painted on her fingernails.

LOS ANGELES — The 57-year-old man charged with 10 murders in the Los Angeles "Grim Sleeper" case was arrested at least 15 times over four decades and was in police custody many times after the killings began, probation and jail records show.

The arrests of Lonnie Franklin Jr. for crimes including burglary, car theft and assault were never considered serious enough to send him to state prison or to warrant his entry in the state's DNA database, according to a report in Saturday's Los Angeles Times.

Franklin was dubbed the Grim Sleeper after a string of murders of young black women had south Los Angeles on edge in the mid-1980s. Then the killings suddenly stopped, only to resume again 14 years later.

Investigators now say they have possibly uncovered the reason for the long respite: He may have been spooked by a near miss by police in 1988.

Franklin was arrested Wednesday on 10 counts of murder and other charges at his lime-green house, just three doors down from a home that was searched extensively by police 22 years ago after the killer's only known survivor led cops there. His public defender, Regina Laughney, said she was still reviewing materials in the case and it was too early for her to comment.

One of the murder victims was killed in July 2003, when records show Franklin should have been in county jail for receiving stolen property but was released early because of overcrowding.

Investigators are trying to tie Franklin to dozens more murders, looking at more than 30 cold case files dating to 1984, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said Friday.

"Now that we know who he is, where he lives, the cars he drove, have people to interview, we will go over all those old cases and look for connections," Beck said.

Investigators will upload Franklin's DNA profile into a national database to see if it matches other samples where the DNA had degraded and scientists only were able to get a partial sample, Beck said.

Franklin faced up to three years in prison in 2003 after pleading no contest to receiving stolen property. He was sentenced to 270 days in jail and released in May 2003, more than four months early, the records showed. Two months later, the body of one of Franklin's alleged victims was found.

Grim Sleeper Victims

Law enforcement said despite more than two decades of old-fashioned police work, they were finally able to crack the case using a new and disputed technique of "familial DNA."

In early June, the state Department of Justice ran newly submitted DNA through a database of 1.5 million samples.

The database found no identical matches, but did find a "familial" match to a convicted felon whose DNA indicated he was either a brother or the son of the killer. An earlier search in 2008 had found no familial matches, but Franklin's son was added to the database in recent months for a felony weapons conviction.

State investigators alerted the LAPD of Franklin's identity on June 30 after verifying the match through birth certificates and other records.

But police still needed a sample of Franklin's DNA to definitively match it to what was found on the victims.

An undercover officer pretending to be a waiter in Los Angeles collected tableware, napkins, glasses and pizza crust at a restaurant where the suspect ate, allowing detectives to obtain a DNA match.

Franklin made a first court appearance Thursday on the murder counts as well as one count of attempted murder and special-circumstance allegations of multiple murder that could lead to the death penalty or life in prison without possibility of parole.

His arraignment was postponed until Aug. 9 at the request of his attorney.

It's always good to see beauties like Esther Baxter and friend Sabrina Athena strip down and oil up. It's even better when it's for a good cause like a PSA for the BP Gulf oil spill.

Esther lends her ample talents to the Save Our Sea campaign.

Vibe magazine asked her why she decided to get involved.

VIBE: How did you get involved with the Oil Spill PSA?

Esther Baxter: Well, I was just talking to a friend of mine one day who also models and we felt like we needed to get involved. It just didn’t make sense to us that more wasn’t being done to fix the problem. I mean 70,000 gallons of oil are being spilled out everyday. Plus, not enough people in the industry are aware of it. So we decided to try and help the cause and bring awareness to the problem. No one in the industry has really took the initiative to speak out and help bring attention to the cause, so hopefully more people will catch on and help after this.

Vibe: You really got down and dirty for the cause

That’s the whole point of this campaign—we want to show people that we’re really getting involved and doing whatever we have to in order to fix the problem, even if that means getting down and dirty. I don’t see enough people reaching out—I just can’t understand how BP is allowed to get away with it and they’re still selling gas! We’re covering ourselves in oil to show that nobody or nothing can be as beautiful as their full potential when they are covered in this stuff. I mean we have like a swimsuit thing going on but yeah it’s pretty much just oil.

LeBurned yet again.

Two days after he spurned New York to play in Miami, LeBron James ignored reporters as he strode into Cipriani 42nd St. for fellow NBA star Carmelo Anthony's wedding.

A stone-faced James walked into the ritzy banquet hall alongside New Orleans Hornets guard Chris Paul amid a blur of camera flashes.

Reporters shouted questions.

James, in a gray suit and dark shades, didn't even look in their direction.

The newest Miami Heat player has gotten used to snubbing New York.

The Knicks' two-year plan to land the NBA's most-coveted free agent was dashed Thursday when James announced that he had chosen to play for the rival Heat.

The long-awaited announcement triggered howls of disgust stretching from the streets of Broadway to Cleveland, where James played for seven years.

It also prompted Madison Square Garden shares to sink.

Saturday, Knick superfan Spike Lee told reporters camped outside Anthony's wedding to girlfriend LaLa Valasquez he was looking beyond the loss of LeBron.

"We want Carmelo to come to New York," Lee said.

A galaxy of stars lit up the red carpet leading to the midtown hotspot.

Reality star Kim Kardashian sashayed past a bank of photographers in a hip-hugging beige dress.

Tennis great Serena Williams and rapper Ludacris also were there.

When ex-New Jersey Net Kenyon Martin's rapper girlfriend walked in, she took the opportunity to gloat about James' decision to come to her hometown.

"It's great," Trina said. "We're gonna win a championship."

Other stars focused on the wedding.

"I'm excited for my friend," said singer Kelly Rowland. "It's Melo's big day. I'm so happy for him."

Inside, more than 300 friends and loved ones watched as Anthony, 26, and Valasquez, 30, exchanged vows.

"That's my family," said rapper Ciara. "I'm so happy."

When French Montana and Waka Flocka Flame hit the building, expect the groupies to sniff them out and act accordingly.

Natalie Nunn from season 4 of the Oxygen reality show 'Bad Girls Club' along with Amber from Season 3 hit up the studio where the two rappers were holding court with their respective teams.

As usual, Natalie was talking mad trash about being the baddest bitch around. She and Amber engaged in some slore dialogue about each other's private parts. Both indicating that the other was the bigger tramp.

French was out in L.A. for a Waka Flocka video shoot. People try to hate, but that boy Waka is caking up right now.

Montana said his new mixtape 'Mac and Cheese 3' is coming out in 3 weeks.
