LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man who was arrested in Las Vegas on Thursday, and his 17-year-old son, were charged with murder in the fatal shooting of rapper PnB Rock at a South Los Angeles restaurant, authorities said.
An FBI-led fugitive task force took 40-year-old Freddie Lee Trone into custody at about 1 p.m., Los Angeles police said. He had been charged earlier in the day with one count of murder, two counts of second-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, the District Attorney’s Office said. His son, who was arrested Tuesday, was charged with the same counts.
Trone’s 38-year-old wife, Shauntel Trone, the boy’s stepmother, was also arrested Tuesday and was charged with one count of being an accessory after the fact to the killing. She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Thursday.
The teen, who remains jailed, made an initial appearance in juvenile court and was told to return next month. It is not clear when Freddie Lee Trone will appear in court for an extradition hearing, or whether any of the defendants have retained attorneys.
PnB Rock, the 30-year-old Philadelphia hip-hop artist whose legal name is Rakim Allen, was gunned down Sept. 13 at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ’N Waffles while eating with his girlfriend. A robber approached their table and demanded items from the rapper, according to investigators.
The robber took items from the victim and fled in a car that was waiting in the parking lot, police said. Rock was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Rock was best known for his 2016 hit “Selfish” and for making guest appearances on other artists’ songs such as YFN Lucci’s “Everyday We Lit” and Ed Sheeran’s “Cross Me” with Chance the Rapper. His latest track, “Luv Me Again,” was released Sept. 2.

Boosie Badazz isn't a fan of Netflix's new series centered around serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer & he wants the Black community to rally to boycott the whole project.
According to Boosie, Netflix’s record-breaking "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" needs to be banned from the face of the earth & all the victims’ families should be paid restitution. Many of Dahmer’s victims were both Black & homosexual, & the Louisiana rapper wants African Americans to unify & get the show booted from Netflix.
Boosie didn’t mince his feelings on the series, repeatedly calling the show "sick" throughout his spew.
The call for a boycott comes off the heels of the family members of Rita Isbel, one of Dahmer’s 17 victims, lashing out at Netflix for continuing to rehash history for no cause other than making money.
It’ll be a tall order to get the series removed … Netflix is boasting its fifth-highest premiere behind titles like "Stranger Things" and "Squid Game" with 196.2M hours watched to date since debuting September 21.
Perhaps Boosie is just being suckered by a good storyline. Michael McCann, the former Milwaukee D.A. responsible for locking Dahmer up, recently told TMZ that Netflix’s troupe about cops refusing to take the disappearance of minorities and gay people seriously played no role in the serial killer’s long reign.
Retired FBI Agent Dan Craft is backing up former D.A. Michael McCaan's statements —telling TMZ that Boosie Badazz's racial disparity regarding Netflix's 'Dahmer' series is off base.
Craft tells TMZ, "No, Dahmer was absolutely not racist. He had white and Hispanic victims as well. It had nothing to do with race. It was all about body style. He liked a Chippendale's dancer type or a male gymnast. The black victims he chose had the RIGHT body style. They fit the Chippendales & gymnast fantasy."

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A California woman has been charged with killing a man by ramming her car into him after accusing him of trying to run over a cat in the street.
Hannah Star Esser, 20, was charged with murder in the death of Victor Anthony Luis, 43, & detained on $1 million bail, the Orange County prosecutor’s office said.
Esser was driving in the community of Cypress on Sunday night when she confronted Luis & accused him of trying to run over a cat.
She & Luis both got out of their vehicles and got into an argument that Esser recorded.
Esser then returned to her car, turned around, drove toward Luis & hit him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“This action showed a complete disregard for human life,” District Attorney Todd Spitzer said.
Luis, a father of 5 daughters, was expecting his first grandchild this fall. He was killed in front of his apartment building & “died in his only brother’s arms,” said a statement issued on behalf of his family Wednesday.
“This senseless act of violence has robbed the world of a bright light who will never be forgotten,” the statement said. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to pay for his funeral.
Esser was arrested Sunday & had an initial court appearance Tuesday. She is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 13.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Coolio, the rapper who was among hip-hop’s biggest names of the 1990s with hits including “Gangsta’s Paradise” and “Fantastic Voyage,” died Wednesday at age 59, his manager said.
Coolio died at the Los Angeles home of a friend, longtime manager Jarez Posey told The Associated Press. The cause was not immediately clear.
Coolio won a Grammy for best solo rap performance for “Gangsta’s Paradise,” the 1995 hit from the soundtrack of the Michelle Pfeiffer film “Dangerous Minds” that sampled Stevie Wonder’s 1976 song “Pastime Paradise” and was played constantly on MTV.
His career album sales totaled 4.8 million, with 978 million on-demand streams of his songs, according to Luminate. He would be nominated for six Grammys overall.
He was married to Josefa Salinas from 1996 to 2000. They had four children together.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police said Wednesday that they are searching for 5 shooters who ambushed a group of teens outside a Philadelphia high school killing 1 14-year-old & wounding 4 other teenagers after a football scrimmage.
Nicholas Elizalde was killed in the ambush as he & the other teens walked away from an athletic field at Roxborough High School shortly after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Philadelphia Police Captain Jason Smith said during a news conference Wednesday that police believe Elizalde was not the intended target of the shooters.
Smith said the shooters sat in a parked SUV for about 6 minutes waiting for the teens to round the corner behind the school. When they did, 5 shooters — who Smith said also appeared to be juveniles — got out of the car & began firing. One person remained in the car.
“Most if not all of the offenders appear to be juveniles themselves. Nonetheless, they are obviously very dangerous individuals & the need is great to have them identified & taken off the streets as quickly as possible,” Smith said.
One of the shooters chased a 17-year-old victim down the street, striking him in the leg & arm. The shooter then stood over the teen & tried to empty his gun, but Smith said he had either run out of bullets or the gun had jammed.

A family says a Bergen County man was caught on video in the act of urinating on their matriarch's grave in Rockland County last Sunday.
Michael Murphy said his late mother, Linda Torello, is the man's ex-wife.
"I could see him up there like this & I could hear the urine hitting the ground & my heart..." Murphy recounted, choking up as he described what he witnessed last Sunday, when he shot a video and caught the man who'd been desecrating his mother's grave.
It all started back in April when Murphy & his sister started finding deli bags filled with feces near their mother's headstone.
They initially thought it may have been left behind by a careless dog walker or a dog owner. But after the second bag was found, they knew they'd been left there intentionally.
Murphy & his family got the greenlight from Tappan Cemetery in Rockland County, where their mother is buried, to install cameras to catch the culprit.
Camera timestamps showed the man coming to grave while his wife waited in the car around 6:15 a.m. for 4 consecutive days last week.
On the fifth day, Murphy propped his camera on a nearby headstone & shot the video & confirmed the culprit was his deceased mother's ex-husband, who she'd divorced over 4 decades ago.
Murphy & his family want more serious charges than just public urination and hope for legislation that will make it a crime.

LAPD has arrested a 17-year old in connection to PnB Rock's murder at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles in South Los Angeles on September 12th.
The teen's father, identified as Freddie Tone, is being sought for his alleged involvement in the shooting. We're told the son was the shooter, and Freddie drove the getaway car.
Our sources also say the father and son duo were already in the restaurant's parking lot when PnB arrived, seemingly removing the possibility that PnB was targeted from a social media post from his GF showing they were eating at Roscoe's. We're told after the murder, the suspects burned the getaway vehicle.
PnB, born Rakim Allen, was robbed and shot while dining with his girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang when the incident happened.
He was 30-years old.

LAPD detectives made at least 1 arrest early Tuesday as they pursued at least 2 people wanted for the murder of the Philadelphia rapper known as PnB Rock, who was shot to death inside a restaurant in South LA after a struggle over his jewelry.
A bulletin released by police Wednesday identified the second person wanted in the killing as Freddie Lee Trone, who police described as, “being involved,” in the Sept. 13 murder of PnB Rock, born Rakim Allen.
The first person arrested was detained near Gardena Tuesday morning.
The LAPD statement identifying Trone made no mention of the arrest.
Trone, the sources said, was a longtime member of a South Los Angeles street gang. Efforts to arrest him Tuesday were unsuccessful.
The LAPD has said it was looking into whether an Instagram post – that showed Allen with his girlfriend at a Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles restaurant —might have steered the killer to the restaurant. The post appeared about 20 minutes before the attack.
