ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (AP) — The mother of a 14-year-old Florida boy accused in a teenage girl’s slaying is facing a charge of evidence tampering, authorities say.
State Attorney R.J. Larizza said in a news release that Crystal Lane Smith, 35, was arrested Saturday morning in St. John’s County. She was later released on $25,000 bail.
It was not immediately clear if she has an attorney to speak for her.
An arrest warrant claims that Smith scrubbed a pair of jeans belonging to her son, Aiden Fucci. He is being tried as an adult on a murder charge in the death of 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey, whose body was found May 9 in a wooded area.
She had been stabbed 114 times.
The arrest warrant says a surveillance camera inside the home recorded Smith washing her son’s jeans, which later tested positive for blood. Traces of blood were also found in a sink drain.
Evidence tampering is a third-degree felony in Florida.
“Tampering with evidence is tampering with justice and cannot be excused or tolerated,” Larizza said.
Fucci has pleaded not guilty to Bailey’s slaying and is being held without bail. The knife believed used in the killing was found in a pond near the crime scene.
Kamaru Usman is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the UFC—a dominant and reigning Welterweight Champion who has defended that title on four straight occasions. But how is he with spicy wings? Find out as the "Nigerian Nightmare" tries to put the wings of death in a chokehold while discussing fellow fighters like Francis Ngannou, breaking down the secrets of "sweet spots," and explaining the global appeal of Burna Boy.
Logan Paul came out swingin' ... but in the end, Floyd Mayweather is just too good.
There was no "official" winner in Logan Paul vs. Floyd Mayweather -- but we didn't need judges to see the domination after it went the distance, a full 8 rounds.
26-year-old Logan came out strong Sunday night & even landed a handful of serious power shots.
But, 44-year-old Floyd ate everything Logan had & began to really open up in round 3 in front of a fired-up crowd at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
From then on ... it was pure Mayweather domination.
Logan looked like he started to gas in round 3 ... Mayweather looked fast, strong & confident all the way to the end.
The fight was an exhibition -- so there is no "official" winner ... but everyone knows Floyd gets the "W."
Floyd praised Logan after the fight -- "He was better than I thought he was."
Mayweather says Paul would have his work cut out for him against real heavyweights -- but called Logan a "good guy" & admitted, "I had fun."
Logan was equally respectful -- saying, "Floyd Mayweather, it was an honor ... this is one of the greatest moments of my life."
"This is the coolest thing ever, I'm happy I made it out ... he's tough to hit.

Clarence Williams III, who played the cool undercover cop Linc Hayes on the counterculture series “The Mod Squad” & Prince’s father in “Purple Rain,” has died. He was 81.
Williams died Friday at his home in Los Angeles after a battle with colon cancer.
A native of New York, Williams career spanned over five decades in theater, television & film. He was born into a creative family in 1939 & raised by his musical grandparents. His grandfather was a jazz composer & pianist, his father a musician & his mother, Eva Taylor, a singer & actress. He got his acting start on Broadway after a stint as a paratrooper & received a Tony nomination for his role in William Hanley’s “Slow Dance on the Killing Ground” in 1964.
His breakout role would come with “The Mod Squad,” which he led with Peggy Lipton & Michael Cole. Bill Cosby had seen Williams perform & told Aaron Spelling he should consider him for the role of Linc.
He appeared on Broadway opposite Maggie Smith in Tom Stoppard’s “Night and Day” in 1979 before getting cast as the troubled father in “Purple Rain,” which came out in 1984.
Williams could command a variety of genres, including comedy. He played a drug lord opposite Dave Chappelle in “Half Baked” & stole scenes in Keenen Ivory Wayans’ blaxploitation parody film “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.” He also had a recurring role as the FBI agent in David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks.”

Honest, truthful and real are three words Port Authur’s own, B-Lean uses to describe himself. He was inspired to create music from seeing other rappers in his city and has since then released three albums. He says that his main priority at the moment is to inspire and motivate the next generation of hip hop because he too has done music with legends like Bun B, Rocko and a few others out of Texas like TSF the label.
In the meantime, keep up with B-Lean by checking out his social media links below:
Lil Durk’s brother OTF DThang was allegedly shot and killed outside an Illinois nightclub, Chicago MediaTakeout reports. Around 6 a.m., the platform known as the urban news for Chicago shared a post that read “Prayers to the person who got shot outside Club O. We have to start partying in peace.” Hours later, Chicago MediaTakeout shared another post confirming the person who was shot outside of Club O in Harvey, Illinois is Durk’s brother Dontay Banks Jr. “Lil Durk’s brother has been killed” is written above a recent photo of the rapper and his brother. The captions reads, “Chicago, when is it going to stop? Durk you’re in our prayers. Most importantly praying for his kids.”
Several other reports circulating social media are also claiming the aspiring rapper has been shot and killed. Grammy award winning producer Murda Beatz tweeted “RIP DThang.” Media personality DJ Akademiks, KollegeKid and the My Mixtapez app reported the news on Instagram plus Chicago rapper Calboy also sent his condolences via Twitter.
This is the latest tragedy to have struck the “Laugh Now Cry Later” rapper. Durk’s artist King Von was shot and killed outside of an Atlanta nightclub in November 2020. And his cousin, McArthur Swindle, also known as OTF Nunu, was shot dead in Chicago while he was seated in an SUV in 2014.
We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJrwp2Yaba8Soulful; That's the best way to describe Melody's new song, "Dancing With A Stranger." The Toronto, Ontario R&B songstress breathes life into every verse in such a way, that you'll swear that you're listening to the voice of an angel who's singing directly into the very depths of your soul. The track, which is assisted by the R&B god Maurice Moore and produced by S.L.M.N, is led by a beautiful acoustic guitar and backed by a gorgeous sliding 808 that you can not only ride to, but dance the night away to while you're in the middle of the club, singing along to the song, word for word. Melody rides the melody (pun intended) perfectly on the chorus as she sings, "I’d rather be with this broken heart, dancing in the dark / Dancing with a stranger, dancing in the danger /Baby don’t you call, happy to restart / Dancing with a stranger, dancing in the danger." I dare you to press play; but I warn you, this glorious and well put-together song might just have you somewhere enjoying the melodic vibes while you're dancing...with a stranger.Melody Official Website: https://www.melodyofficial.com/Read more…

CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. - A woman working as an Amazon delivery driver was arrested in Castro Valley after she repeatedly punched a 67-year-old woman wondering where her package was.
Alameda County Sheriff's deputies took Itzel Ramirez, 21, into custody on Thursday.
That's after they received a 911 call from the victim who said the Amazon driver punched her at least 10 times around the face & head.
Video shows the Amazon worker repeatedly striking the other woman.
The owner of the apartment complex said it all began when the victim received an alert that her package had been delivered. But when she went to the lobby, it wasn't there. She saw the Amazon worker, asked where it was & the driver said she'd get it soon.
The victim waited for 15 minutes in the lobby, came back outside & asked where her package was.
"I believe the Amazon driver said something about ‘your white privilege,’ & my tenant said, ‘You don’t need to be a bitch about it,' turned around & walked away," said apartment complex owner Doug Smith.
Ramirez claims she hit the woman in self-defense.
"We can't have our delivery drivers or people out there in the community attacking people, punching people in the face," said sheriff's Sgt. Ray Kelly.
Ramirez was arrested on suspicion of battery causing serious bodily injury & elder abuse, both felonies. Her bail was set at $100,000.
